Standard KPIs in BW

Hi all
Can anyone help me to identify standard KPIs for areawise(like SD,MM....) and also how to find KPIs in existing reports
Thanks
Vani

Hi,
KPIs are nothing but a providing analytical basis to your reports, and making then more worthwhile for business. E.g Net sales is important for any business. so when we say Net sales as a KPI then
generally following reports as an example are clubbed together.
a. Area wise net sales
b. Sales area wise net sales.
c. Year to date net sales.
d. Month to date net sales.
e. Top customers in terms of net sales.
f. Performance net sales against planed sales.
Such reports are showcased together generally in graphs/charts, and contains less delails and 4-5 values against which net sales is compared.
Such KPIs varies form Customer to customer and depends on customer need.
You can even create many KPIs from standard reprts also if they are befitting to the customer needs.
so based on customer operating business you can create  a list of KPI's based on information u have with you or as a general case.

  • SSM 7 - How to create more than 100 standard KPIs on admin interface?

    Good day all,
Has anybody successfully increased the the number of standard kpis that can be created in the Admin inteface to greater than 100 standard kpis?
I have followed the instructions on page 39 of  the 'Server configuration guide for SAP Strategy Management for sp 2 or higher' pdf to modify the
kpi limits but I still get a popup on the Admin interface telling me that only 100 standard kpis can be created when I try to add the 101th kpi.
btw the procedure in the pdf mentioned above refers to changing the scorecard.pro file but in this file the wording for a kpi i.e.
'&$KP99PARAM0STD' is not the found but the wording "P" is use instead of "PARAM". In the file jscorecard.pro the wording "PARAM" is used.
I have adding 100 extra parameters to these files. But I still get the restrictions of only creating 100 kpis as mentioned above.
    Please assist in this matter.
    Thanks in advance,
    T

    Hi Taariq,
In the same server config guide, please check the section about Modifying the Objective Limits. The parameter you have to change here will influence both the Objective and KPI limits. Unfortunately this is not stated in that document yet...
So in addition to the steps you have already implemented, try changing this property!

  • How does the value for "Escalated incidents" in the KPI report work?

    Hello,
I've been running the standard KPI report in SCSM for our support groups and noticed that the value of "Number of incidents" in some cases are lower than the value for "Escalated incidents". How could this happen? Isn't "Number of
incidents" the total and "Escalated incidents" just an indication of how many of the total that have been escalated? Do I need to add them together to get the total?
It could be noted that we tick the check-box in the incident form manually without any connection to SLO.
Am I missing something? Any suggestions would be appreciated. :)
    Best regards,
    Marcus

    >If you can't deactivate ahead of time, you can contact Adobe Customer Care to help you.  But like I said, you can install on up to 2 devices.  I think if you try to install on a 3rd device, your other 2 get deactivated automatically.  So even if you have to format C, you'll still be able to get up and running pretty quickly.
    Great, thank you.
    >Perpetual License means "yours to use for as long as your operating system can run it."   CS6 is almost 3 years old and no longer being updated.  It is what it is.  Presently, 4 versions back from the currently available Creative Cloud version.
Too bad they went to a dumb subscription based model that doesn't allow you to purchase a full license outright.  I don't want to pay $30 a month,  I'd rather pay a lump sum and be done with it.

  • How to check effectiveness of Equipment

How to check effectiveness of equipment

It depends upon  how we define  'Effectiveness'  in terms of the Input parameters we are giving to the system in relation to this Equipment.
1.One key factor is MTBR which in other words can be termed as Reliability also. This % should be as high as possible for an effective equipment if you define the effectiveness as minimum breakdowns .
    2. If technical availability is the effectiveness then it is calculated through formula [ MTBR / (MTTR + MTBR) ]* 100
    3. If you want to incorporate other business parameters into the definition of Effectiveness, then these parameters need to be recorded and the effectiveness needs to be calculated as per your formula.

  • External links not working

In SSM 7.5 if as Administrator I add external hyperlinks to an objective, what else do I need to do for them to appear to users?

    Cliff,
If you are still on 7.0 you definitely have CPIP, if you are on 7.5 the default setting is JPIP, though you have the option to change that to CPIP.
If you go to http:// <server>:<port>/strategy/tools if you have JPIP, it will appear on the bottom of the Tools menu. You use JPIP to restart your services, instead of Windows Services Extended Listener. If JPIP opens, you will see all of your open sessions and can close/restart individual sessions or all of them.
When you are updating the Responsible party and Associated Links for the KPI, where are you doing this? In the Standard KPI Library? In the Set KPIs section? Because if you have this KPI repeated in several different Contexts, but only added Associated Links for the KPI in one Context, it would not show up in other Contexts unless changed there as well. Changes made in the KPI Library would be saved to all KPIs in all Contexts.

  • SSM 7 - Maximums

    Hi all,
Could someone please explain the difference between the following maximums found on page 112 and 113 of the pdf entitled 'SAP Strategy Management 7.0- Delta from SSM 2007 to SSM 7.0':
    Administrator's Interface Maximums
         Item                                          Maximum number allowed
    1.             # standard KPIs per context          Standard = 100, Custom = 100 more. Total of up to 200.
    Dimensional Model Maximums
         Database                                                     Maximum
    2.     # Measures in a dimensional model     1 500
    3.      # KPIs per dimensional model                      400 standard and index KPIs combined.
In addition, I have created 200 kpis in the cube builder and get a message in the trace file that the maxium number of variables have been reached i.e. 1000, this is lower than point 2 above. Why would the maxiumums be different?
Finally, is there a way to exceed these maximums?
    Thanks in advance,
    T

    Taariq,
You have a limit of KPIs you can normally create for each context, and that is what the Administrator's Interface Maximums relate to. Usually this should be more than enough for the implementation of any single scorecard.
As for the Dimensional Models Maximums, these relate to the Application Server Models, and you will find also documentation on this in the Application Server Help. When you create a model through Cube Builder, it will use the standard model definitions - 1000 measures maximum. You can change this limit afterwards directly in the Application Server with the IDQL command:
SUP CHANGE DATABASE yourdb VARIABLES 1500
(check in the AS Help what are the Application Server maximums for the version you are running!)
You should be able to resume with model creation through Cube Builder after you have made this change.
    Best regards!
    Ricardo

  • Is the KPI management feature standard in 11g?

    Hi,
I am aware that the Oracle Scorecard and Strategy Management feature is not standard in 11g and requires separate licensing.
Is the KPI management functionality only* part of the Scorecard feature or a standard part of 11g?
    Thanks,
    David

There was nothing on the page that you quoted that refers to KPI's. Could you please point to a more specific page?

  • KPIs for Project systems from standard SAP

    Dear Friends,
can you please provide me the KPIs for PS module, available from standard SAP.
    Thanks,
    Nav

Not able to understand your requirement.
In my understanding there is no such things as KPI for SAP PS in standard SAP.
KPI's are usually reporting requirements assessed during blueprint phase and are client specfic.

  • How can I use a date range in a list KPI value expression

I am trying to create a series of status indicators for a document library in SharePoint 2010. I've made a status list for this. One of the desired KPI's is to show the percentage of documents that must be revised and approved within the next two
    months.
I have a field which logs the next approval date (last approval date plus one year). In the standard form for the KPI I can set the value expression to return the percentage of documents to be reviewed between [Today] and a date that I fill
in by hand (see image below). But I haven't yet been able to have the target date (two months from today) change dynamically. Is there a way to have the second date increment via a calculation here? Or do I need to use a recurring workflow to do this?
Any help would be greatly appreciated - also if this post should be elsewhere. I am not a programmer, and just beginning to learn to make use of many of SharePoint's functions.
    Cheers,
    Russ Herald

I'm not certain if you can use formulas here but if you can use the standard SharePoint Field Formulas you could try the following:
For the second date could you just put: [Today]+60 to add 60 days to the current date
Or to work with actual months you could possibly use: =DATE(YEAR([Today]),MONTH([Today])+2,DAY([Today])) to add exactly two months.

  • Where/How to get the Virtual KPIs in Crystal Reports?

    hellooo!
We are developing SSM7 reports using Crystal.
And we have this example scenario:
    1. Two NONKPI variables defined via Cube Builder:
        NONKPI381_ACT/TAR  Net Sales         100000
        NONKPI382_ACT/TAR  Expenses          80000
    2. Virtual KPI
        KPI380_ACT/TAR (Net Income Contribution) = (NONKPI381_ACT/TAR - NONKPI382_ACT/TAR)
No issue in PAS and standard front-end reports as they show the KPI380 = 20000 (and other calculations) perfectly.
However, we need a specific report showing an Objective and it's associated KPIs (e.g. KPI380*) and Initiatives. Apparently, the main FACT table CPMS_EA_DATA does not contain values for KPI380. I browsed all the CPMS tables but to no avail, I have not seen any relationships to at least calculate KPI380. Could somebody please give me some advise?
    Cheers and Thanks,
    Ron Almonte

    Hi there!
If you are trying to read data directly from CPMS tables, then you won't find any measure data there. That data is stored in the Application Server... The CPMS_EA_DATA values there are only used as a datasource for the application server, those values are not used directly for the scorecard calculations.
I would advise you to consider the upgrade to version 7.5. With this version you are able to use either Web Services or ODBO to connect SAP BusinessObjects Strategy Management to other SAP BusinessObjects tools.
This way you will be able to easily access, for example, the details on the 'Context', 'Perspective', 'Objective', 'KPI' and 'Initiative', and to the respective measures 'Trend Status value', 'Status Value', 'Actual', 'Target' and 'Score'. You are also able to access more detailed information on the PAS model for any measure, so that you can build your reports on Web or CrystalI, your Dashboards on Xcelsius, etc, etc...
I have used the ODBO provider (available starting with 7.5 SP2) to create a Universe, and then with QaaWS I was able to make that data available for Crystal, which made it very easy to built a report without any coding
    Hope this helps!

  • FSCM-CR - Extension of Payment Behavior KPI

    Hi,
I would like to confirm the capability of extend Payment Behavior KPI's via report UKM_TRANSFER_VECTOR. For example, would it be possible to calculate and send for example the following KPI's, in addition to the standard ones?
    - Open items balance, Due balance, Overdue balance, Days in arrears, any other KPIs calculated and stored in Z tables.
    Thanks,
    Gonçalo

    Hi -
I'm doing the same thing on a project I am working on now...client wants additional information (KPI's if you will) - among the things they are looking for are precisely the things you mentioned (in terms of KPI's)
We looked at attaching it to the Payment Behaviors tab. Here is what it would have involved:
    - A new .APPEND structure to UKMBP_VECTOR_IT to store your custom fields
    - A change to UKM_TRANSFER_VECTOR to update the new fields
    - A new view on the Payment Behaviors tab along with the logic to fetch the new data from UKMBP_VECTOR_IT
As you can see, there certainly is customization/ehancement to be had here. It is more than activating a BAdI.
We considered other options but ended up settling on creating an entirely new tab in FSCM CM for the customer-specific data. The development/enhancement steps are similar:
    1. Brand new Ztable modeled after UKMBP_VECTOR_IT - including the same key structure
    2. Cloned UKM_TRANSFER_VECTOR verbetim - changed the logic to address precisely the fields we needed - the new ones of course.
    3. A couple of new views in FSCM CM at the credit segment level. This was a lot of fun getting them hooked up to the menu structure (NOT!) - but I did it. (Geez, the crap looks like it was delivered by SAP...but it wasn't).
The goal of isolating this stuff on to its own tab was to completely isolate the enhancement in case SAP decides to step on it in the future.
    Hope this helps.

  • Process KPI extraction from BPM to BW possible? Is there content available?

    Hallo
I have a question concerning BPM. Does anybody know if there is standard content and/or an extractor to retrieve BPM Process Data from the CE 7.1? I am looking for something similar as the SAP Workflow extractor and/or data model.
    Does someone have a suggestion?
    Regards,
    mingolo

    Hi mingolo,
Didn't you already ask the same question in the following thread?
Process KPI extraction from BPM to BW possible? Is there content available?
I assume that this might be a duplicate and therefore close it.

  • BPM KPIs and reports

    Hello,
How can I measure the time it takes for a task to be executed in SAP BPM? Is there an standar report for analyze all the process and help making decisions?
    Thanks & Regards
    SU

    Hi,
KPI functionality in BPM (CE 7.1 EHP 1) is very limited, but if you are on SAP NW CE 7.2 then there is a good news. Much powerfull KPI reporting is supported in the new version, it comes out of the box(standard).
You can refer to Process List Viewer for more info.

  • SAP SSM Standard vs SAP SSM Enterprise

    Hi Everyone,
We would like to utilize SAP Strategy Management, however, we are still in the process of reviewing the functionality. Right now we are tangled between SSM Standard and SSM Enterprise. Can anyone give us an idea what's the difference between the two? And we were advised that SSM Enterprise has integration templates available; how can we get those templates? In a cost standpoint, what will be the recommended of the two?
Thank you very much for sharing your thoughts on this.
PS. Were can we get a detailed documentation of the functionality of the two.
    Rally

    Rally,
SSM uses Contexts as a way of cascading strategy throughout an organization. Each Context within SSM can have different goal diagrams as well as having more specific objectives. Think of a Context as how an organization looks at their business. A Context can be regions, it can be functional areas - finance, HR, manufacturing, marketing, etc., it can be lines of business - gas delivery, electrical delivery, customer service, or combinations of those.
Since individual users are accessing SSM, the administrator could designate which Contexts they have access to. That way the Southeast Region's salespeople could see their objectives and KPIs for the Southeast, but for no other region. A sales manager could have access to several of the regions they were responsible for.
A multidimensional Model is associated with Contexts and it, as well, can be used to provide the appropriate data and metrics for users. A Model is what is constructed to define the type of data, its dimensions, measures, and KPIs.
As far as functionality and features goes, there is no difference between Edge and Enterprise. Edge has all of the same tabs available: Home, Strategy, Scorecards, Dashboards, Initiatives, and Reports. It allows Operational Reviews, Comments, Alerts, and the same individual perference settings as Enterprise. The limitations for Edge should still meet the needs of small or medium sized organizations.
EPM is the suite of applications of which SSM is a part. For the difference between 7.0 and 7.5, each of the individual products will have their own enhancements as well as additional integration with other products in the suite. The 7.5 versions of EPM products are still in the Ramp Up process, while I believe the 7.0 versions are in general availability. SSM is available as an individual application or can be purchased as part of the EPM suite.

  • How to display in KPI more than one dimension at once

    Dear Experts,
We are using SSM 7.5 SP 7 and are trying to display more the one dimension at once on the same KPI.
For example KPI "on time delivery" :
Destination from (dimension 1) , Destination To (dimension 2) , ACTUAL, TARGET , SCORE , ETC
    GERMANY  , JAPAN ,  80 ,  75 , 5 , .....
Could not find a standard option for that only one dimension on the row the rest are on top for the entire screen.
    would appreciate your help
    thanks
    Amir

    Hi Amir,
If you want to do this for only one KPI, you can do so using the KPI Detail screen.
Just click on the name of your KPI to navigate to the KPI Detail screen and then you can use the "Drill" button located on the top of the trend graph at the bottom of the screen to visualize the KPI information (Actual, Target, Score, Gap Performance) across multiple members of the same dimension.
You need to select the dimension on the upper right hand side of the chart (there is a drop down list with all your dimensions so you can focus on one) and then you can drill down by clicking on the elements on the chart.
    I hope this helps,
    Hector
