Step List Configuration Question

Hi,
I'm using TS2010 in .NET ,Is it possible to change my custom
list configuration through my application(font size,width,etc..).
Thanks
Assaf

Assaf,
yes, it is possible.
The key to start with is "axFileSteps.". In the context menu, browse for the property you want to modify.
Font-settings for instance split up into three categories:

  • Import sequenceview control property from step list configuration

I have worked out a  step list configuration  in my development maschine
How to import it in  a User Interface (labview simple UI) . I  have to  run it on my deployment maschine

    Hi aparab,
    thank you for your answer.
I am stil not sure what you exactly want to change.
If you only want to change the view of the Simple User Interface between Edit Mode and Operating Mode, you can do so by selecting Ctrl + Alt + Shift + Insert.
If you want to manipulate the look of the Sequence File, this is an X-Control in the background. If you need another look, you can change the control on the Simple User Interface in LabVIEW. But you have to implement all the functionality by yourself then.
There is a toolkit called FlexStand, that might be a solution for you. I added the links to some information about it and the product page below.

I hope, one of the points above answer your question. Otherwise, let me know and describe what you exactly what to manipulate and how it should look like. You can add some screenshots, that help me understand.

  • How to deploy custom Step List Configurations?

Step List Configurations is accessible to user via right click menu in Sequence File and Execution panes. How to deploy the custom Step List Configuration what I have at my deployment computer? Next question, if the user will modify this menu, how do not overwright the local changes with a new version installation?

    skof,
To you copy your Step List Configurations to another PC you can find them stored in the layout_current.bin file found in C:\Documents and Settings\<windows username>\Local Settings\Application Data\National Instruments\TestStand X.X directory.  If you copy this file to the same location on another PC, or even on the same PC to a different user account, your Step List Configurations should carry over.
Since this file is stored in a directory that is different for each major version of TestStand, you shoulnd't have to worry about overwriting it if you install a new major version (4.2 over 4.1). I haven't tested for minor revisions that would share a folder (4.0 & 4.0.1) but that would be the only situation in which you might need to be concerned.

  • Edit step list configurations

In teststand 3 and earlier, when executing a sequence it was shown in a column the result of the step and the high limit and low limit
Now in TS 4 it is possible to edit the step list but i did not manage to show the step result . For example if i create a new column (type expression) and just put Step.Result.numeric, xhen executing the sequence I have a popup because for some steps there is no step.result.numeric available.
My question is how to have the same as TS 3 and earlier ( Result + limits in a column when executing a sequence)

Note that the numeric measurement appears as part of the description for the numeric limit test. The default TestStand 4.0 step list configuration has a description column, just like previous versions.
I guessing that you probably know this and are purely interested in creating a custom step list configuration, but I wanted to be clear that this functionality has not been removed.

    Hi
I dont want the Operator to see  the "Setup Main Cleanup"   text  while testing
any ideas how to acheive this
In the image  as u see the  "Setup Main Cleanup"   are unwanted info for the  Operator
& can confuse. I wasnt able to  reduce its size also

    Hi aparab,
I don't know if's possible to hide the sequence editor itself in the TestStand development system.
If you want to customize the GUI for the operator, it could be usefull to create a custom UI in LabVIEW, .NET ...

  • I am at a total loss. I received am airport express to replace a netgear router. I need a step by step list of how to get it working. I am not very technical

I am trying to get an airport express to work, it is replacing a netgear router. Tried following the directions that came with it plus suggestions sent to me  but so  far I am not able to get things going. Can anyone send me a step by step list from start to finish and also explain what numbers, passwords etc that I would have to install. I am the stupid in the KISS method of doing things

    Hi doctorshane
Your router is the heart of your network. Replacing one changes everything.
    Please follow Philly_Phan's instructions here:
My airport express won't stop flashing amber and I can't figure out how to hock it up.ihad a router which worked fine
To which I would add: disconnect your modem from power and let it rest a moment while you configure your Express. Make it a habit to do this whenever you change the device connected to a cable or DSL modem. Most modems will refuse to communicate with anything new, until its memory has been reset with a power cycle.
If you still have difficulty please explain where you are getting stuck. If you reply in that thread, not this one, it would help others with your problem. Don't begin a new question unless the recommendations you receive are getting nowhere or your question doesn't get any replies after a day or so. Philly_Phan's instructions are correct so follow them.
Otherwise, you are likely to repeatedly receive the same advice and will fail to achieve any progress.

  • KEPM Configuration - Questions

    HI,
I have to configure KEPM for my Client. They want to plan at product group level and distribute to the product or customer level. As a first step I have to prepare a list of questions to configure KEPM and activate sales and profitability planning.
Kindly advice me how can i proceed. What are the questioins that i  should raise for client to prepare this KEPM
    Thanks
    Supriya

    Hello,
KEPM is nothing for Planning Framework. SEM-BPS/BW-BPS has been developed based the same logica of KEPM. In SEM-BPS/BW-BPS you will have Planning Area, whereas in KEPM you do not have any Planning Area.
Create Planning Level at highest level and under which you can create number of planning packages. Try to use Right click on menu in the context area, where you would be able to see the options for create / display / copy / delete / transport.
You can see different planning functions like in the left side bottom portion (Planning Methods)
    Copy / Forecast / Top-down distribution  etc.
You have ask the client regarding their requirement, whether to
copy buget from another version to this version
copy budget from previous year to this year
revaluate the budget by certain percentage
What kind of top down distribution (meaning that budget figures entered by top management cannot be exceeded by the operational level employees entries)
Want to delete any plan data. (You need to always bundgle delete and copy functions together)
How to distribute from a sender to receiver etc.
Basically you get the copies of their excel sheets and you get some idea how to develop this frame work.
Here you will have Planning sequences, where you can bundle together different planning functions.
Hope this give you a basic understanding.

    Ravi

  • Steps to configure R/3 system to Portal implementation

    Hi
Please provide steps to configure R/3 system to Portal implementation
when i m opening standard iview in ESS in portal i m getting following runtime error.
com.sap.tc.webdynpro.services.exceptions.WDRuntimeException: Failed to resolve JCO destination name 'SAP_R3_SelfServiceGenerics_MetaData' in the SLD. No such JCO destination is defined in the SLD.
    Please help
    Thanks

    Hello Bhupinder Singh,
To use ESS/MSS services in Portal follow the following Steps
    Maintaining jCo Connections
    Use
jCo connections are used in iViews to connect directly to a backend. They are delivered with the portal content and must be activated (configured to access a specific system).
jCo connections have two parts: one with <jCo name>, and the other with suffix <jCo Name>_MetaData. The first one transfers user-specific data within the scenario; the other transfers only the needed metadata. For the jCo with name <jCo name>, SAP Logon Ticket is recommended as an authentication method. For the metadata connection, a user ID and password is needed. A system user created before is sufficient.
    Procedure
Within this guide we generically describe the step-by-step procedure for an example connection set. Perform all steps for the following jCos:
    u2022     SAP_R3_Financials / SAP_R3_Financials_Metadata
    u2022     SAP_R3_HumanResources / SAP_R3_HumanResources_MetaData
    u2022     SAP_R3_SelfServiceGenerics / SAP_R3_SelfServiceGenerics_MetaData
    u2022     SAP_R3_Travel / SAP_R3_Travel_MetaData
    u2022     SAP_R3_SelfServiceGenerics_MetaDataFIN

  • ADS Configuration Question

    Hello All,
I am configuring the ADS in our ECC 6.0 system . I am facing two issues :
    Issue 1:
I had completed all the steps for configuring ADS in the system. But when I run the Adobe form builder test from sfp transaction for the test form "FP_TEST_00" I am getting an error when executing the test function module for that test form saying :
    "Exception SYSTEM_ERROR
    Message ID: FPRUNX Message number:
    Message:
    ADS: com.adobe.ProcessingException: Problem accessing d(200101)
What might be the issue???? We configured the Basic authentication and not SSL.
    Issue 2:
Our J2EE is pointing to the client 001 and 800 is the ABAP development client .
We had created a RFC destination by name "ADS" connection type "G" as part of the ADS configuration .
IN SM59 when I do a test connection on both clients ADS Rfc destination is working only in client 001 (J2ee client) and not working in 800 client In client 800 it's telling the error " SR000 : ICM_HTTP_CONNECTION_FAILED".
What might be the issue in 800 client?
Thanks for your help in advance.
    Thanks,
    Greetson

    ISSUE 1:
If not, then check this thread and run the tests mentioned in it at your end.
Print Preview not working for Adobe forms
    ISSUE 2:
    Reason and Prerequisites
You are using ICM Release 6.40 or higher for HTTP connections of the SAP Web AS. In other words, your kernel release is 6.40 or higher.
Up to and including Release 7.00, ICM is only used in systems which also have an ABAP stack, and not in J2EE-only systems.
You may also be using the SAP Web Dispatcher.
    Solution
    The note describes the following:
Client and server roles of the ICM
List of the various ICM timeout parameters
Short description of the icm/conn_timeout parameter
Description of "Processing timeout" and "Keepalive timeout"
Configuration of the ICM parameters for the processing timeout and the keepalive timeout
Timeout parameters in the SAP Web Dispatcher
ICM kernel patches that affect timeouts
There is detailed ICM documentation in the SAP Knowledge Warehouse.
Client and server roles of the ICM
The ICM can forward incoming HTTP connections for further processing to the SAP Web Application Server; the ICM then serves as the HTTP server. The ICM can also forward outgoing HTTP connections from the SAP Web Application Server to other HTTP servers; the ICM then serves as the HTTP client.
Available parameters that control ICM timeouts
    icm/conn_timeout
    icm/keep_alive_timeout
    icm/server_port_< n >
    Parameter icm/conn_timeout
icm/conn_timeout is used to set the timeout when setting up the connection. If the timeout is exceeded, an error page is generally displayed with the information "404 Resource not found" "Partner not reached".
Therefore, exceeding the icm/conn_timeout does not lead to a "500 Connection timed out" error message.
    Processing timeout and keepalive timeout
The icm/keep_alive_timeout and icm/server_port_< n > parameters define the keepalive timeout and the processing timeout.
ICM distinguishes between these two types of timeout.
The processing timeout is the timeout between the HTTP request being issued and the HTTP response being received.
If the ICM is used as a server for the relevant HTTP request (in other words, when it forwards an incoming request to the SAP Web Application Server), the processing timeout is the time that the ICM will wait until a response is received from the SAP Web Application Server (ABAP or J2EE). This interval may be exceeded with long-running applications in ABAP or the J2EE engine.
If the ICM serves as a client for the relevant HTTP request (that is, when it forwards outgoing requests from the SAP Web Application Server), the processing timeout is the time that the ICM waits until a response is received from the network. This interval may also be exceeded in the case of long-running applications in the network.
The keepalive timeout specifies how long the network should remain open after a request has been processed successfully so that the TCP/IP connection does not have to be reestablished if additional requests are received.
When you set the keepalive timeout, this does not normally lead to timeout errors. You should set the keepalive timeout high enough that the connection does not have to be reestablished for requests that are sent within a short time of each other, but low enough that the number of unused open TCP/IP connections is not unnecessarily high.
Configuration of the ICM parameters for the processing timeout and the keepalive timeout
For the ICM, the parameters mentioned here are in the instance profile.
The processing timeout is set for individual services with the following parameter:
    icm/server_port_ < n > = ...,PROCTIMEOUT=< s >.
The keepalive timeout can be set globally for all services of the ICM with the parameter icm/keepalive_timeout.
You can also set it for individual services by using the following parameter:
    icm/server_port_ < n > = ...,TIMEOUT=< s >.
If you set this parameter, it overwrites parameter icm/keepalive_timeout for the specified service.
Even if the ICM serves as client for a request, the TIMEOUT and PROCTIMEOUT parameters of icm/server_port_ < n > control the timeouts for the relevant protocol, provided that you have set TIMEOUT or PROCTIMEOUT.
If you have not set the PROCTIMEOUT parameter, TIMEOUT (or icm/keepalive_timeout) defines both the processing timeout and the keepalive timeout. Also, as of release 6.40, the keepalive timeout is limited to a maximum of 30 seconds.
In a system where the default timeout settings of 30 seconds for the keepalive timeout and the processing timeout are not sufficient because of long-running applications, we recommend that you set the TIMEOUT and PROCTIMEOUT parameters for the relevant services so that you can configure them independently of each other. In addition, we recommend that you do not set the TIMEOUT value higher than necessary, for example, to the usual default value of 30 seconds.
We recommend, for example, the following settings:
    icm/server_port_0 = PROT=HTTP,PORT=1080,TIMEOUT=30,PROCTIMEOUT=600
to allow a maximum processing time of 10 minutes.
Timeout parameters in the SAP Web Dispatcher
The same timeout parameters are available for the SAP Web Dispatcher as for the ICM. You can change the parameters of the SAP Web Dispatcher in the profile file of the SAP Web Dispatcher (for example, sapwebdisp.pfl). We recommend that you set the same parameters in the SAP Web Dispatcher and ICM.
Known errors in ICM and Web Dispatcher timeout handling
Since 6.40 patch level 64, there have not been any known errors in ICM and Web Dispatcher timeout handling.
In Release 7.00, there are no known errors in ICM and Web Dispatcher Timeout Handling.
Known Internet Explorer errors in the keepalive timeout handling
Known errors in the keepalive handling from Internet Explorer are described in Note 900804. However, these errors are not usually displayed as timeout errors.

  • Steps to Configure Sendmail in Solaris 9

Can anyone provide me the SUN documents URL to configure sendmail in Solaris 9.
Any other good link will also do.
    Thanks.

    I have some questions:
The server in which I want to configure is running as a DNS client. and I want to configure a local mail so I think that i need to configure mail rather than configuring sendmail.
I get a document for configuring mail in solaris from docs.sun.com. The doc name is "Mail Administration Guide for Solaris 7".
This document has the steps to configure mail but my question is:
The server is already running as DNS client, in this case Do I have to install a new naming service to configure it as mail server?
Can we configure a server as NIS server when it is already a DNS client?
Suppose there is only one server, how do you configure mail server and client server and host server..can all three be done on only one server. Here there is one server and a few PCs need to be connected to it as clients.
    Any suggestions?

  • SAP-JEE, SAP_BUILDT, and SAP_JTECHS and Dev Configuration questions

    Hi experts,
I am configuring NWDI for our environment and have a few questions that I'm trying to get my arms around.
I've read we need to check-in SAP-JEE, SAP_BUILDT, and SAP_JTECHS as required components, but I'm confused on the whole check-in vs. import thing.
I placed the 3 files in the correct OS directory and checked them in via the check-in tab on CMS.   Next, the files show up in the import queue for the DEV tab.  My questions are what do I do next?
    1.  Do I import them into DEV?  If so, what is this actually doing?  Is it importing into the actual runtime system (i.e. DEV checkbox and parameters as defined in the landscape configurator for this track)? Or is just importing the file into the DEV buildspace of NWDI system?
    2.  Same question goes for the Consolidation tab.    Do I import them in here as well?
    3.  Do I need to import them into the QA and Prod systems too?  Or do I remove them from the queue?
    Development Configuration questions ***
    4. When I download the development configuration, I can select DEV or CON workspace.  What is the difference?  Does DEV point to the sandbox (or central development) runtime system and CONS points to the configuration runtime system as defined in the landscape configurator?  Or is this the DEV an CON workspace/buildspace of the NWDI sytem.
    5.  Does the selection here dictate the starting point for the development?  What is an example scenarios when I would choose DEV vs. CON?
    6.  I have heard about the concept of a maintenance track and a development track.  What is the difference and how do they differ from a setup perspective?   When would a Developer pick one over the over?
    Thanks for any advice
    -Dave

    Hi David,
"Check-In" makes SCA known to CMS, "import" will import the content of the SCAs into CBS/DTR.
    1. Yes. For these three SCAs specifically (they only contain buildarchives, no sources, no deployarchives) the build archives are imported into the dev buildspace on CBS. If the SCAs contain deployarchives and you have a runtime system configured for the dev system then those deployarchives should get deployed onto the runtime system.
    2. Have you seen /people/marion.schlotte/blog/2006/03/30/best-practices-for-nwdi-track-design-for-ongoing-development ? Sooner or later you will want to.
    3. Should be answered indirectly.
    4. Dev/Cons correspond to the Dev/Consolidation system in CMS. For each developed SC you have 2 systems with 2 workspaces in DTR for each (inactive/active)
    5. You should use dev. I would only use cons for corrections if they can't be done in dev and transported. Note that you will get conflicts in DTR if you do parallel changes in dev and cons.
    6. See link in No.2 ?
