Steps for Parameter effectivity

I have not yet worked in Parameter effectivity. So can anyone pls let me know the detailed steps to work on it. SAP documentations are little confusing in case of creating new effectivity parameters...it states "You can assign those values to an effectivity parameter that are allowed for the assigned data element. For example, the data element CC_SERNR is assigned to the SERNR effectivity parameter. As any strings up to 18 characters long are allowed for CC_SERNR, the same character strings can also be assigned to SERNR"...not very clear.
Thanks in advance

Hi ,
Bascially what it means is that the values you can have for the parameter effectivity has to be within the rrange. So Eg you create a parameter effectivity for data element SERNR , that has length 8 ,therefore the maximum range you can setup is 8. Eg for material it is 18. You can find the details on these data element in SE11.
The following link gives lot more information on parameter effectivity.
http://help.sap.com/saphelp_47x200/helpdata/en/55/5fcc36df2ea85be10000009b38f839/frameset.htm
You can setup your own parameter effectiivity in OS60/OS61/OS64 using different data elements. Then you can create a a change number with that parameter effectivity. Eg in CC01 if you create change number parameter effectivity SERNO 10 - 20. Then if you change a bom in Cs02 with this change number, that change will only be valid for serial number between 10 - 20. Any other serial number will not have that change affected.
Hope this helps.

Amber

  • What are the config steps for contract mass change and quota arrangement?

    Hi friends
what are the config steps for contract mass change and quota arrangement?
    Regards
    Raj Kumar

    Process Flow
The mass change process consists of four steps. You navigate between these steps by choosing the Next and Back buttons located at the bottom right-hand corner of the screens.
           1.      Search for contracts
You search for and select the contracts or the contract hierarchy that you want to change.
Contracts that have the status Closed cannot be changed.
           2.      Define mass changes
You specify the changes you want to make.
You make changes at header data level and at item data level by choosing the relevant change methods. A green tick appears next to each change parameter so that you can see where changes are already active.
Once you enter this step, the documents you have selected to be changed are locked so that other users cannot make changes to them until you are finished with this process.
           3.      Simulate mass changes
Here you can perform a trial run of your mass changes. This simulation step is optional.
We recommend that you perform this step so that you can check how the change methods you have chosen will be processed by the system.
You receive status messages about the change methods for each contract and can quickly see whether any errors arise in connection with the proposed changes at this stage. From this step, it is easier for you to go back and correct the error than after applying the changes.
    Background processing
The system processes the changes in the background.
If there are a large number of contracts to be processed, this step could take some time to complete. In this case, you can leave the transaction so that you can, for example, carry out other tasks in the meantime.
The system sends you an e-mail once the simulation step is complete. The e-mail contains a link to the relevant screen in the application so that you can return to it when it is convenient for you to do so. If you have left the SRM application, you can only return via this link.
Here you can see the status of the changes and, if necessary, you can correct any errors by going back to the Define mass changes step.
The messages that you receive in the simulation step are not confirmation that a change has been performed. They simulate the messages you get after you apply the changes. You must complete the final step of the mass change process and apply the changes before they take effect.
           4.      Carry out mass changes
Here you apply the changes to the contracts.
You cannot reverse this step, which is why we advise you to perform the simulation step beforehand.

  • How to install plugin and exta filter in photoshop cs ? and any special filter for special effects ?

how to install plugin and exta filter in photoshop cs ? and any special filter for special effects ?
kindly recommend me any best one and tel me step by step how i will add more plugins n filters

A Plug_in normally come with an installer or install instructions. Check the documentation for the plug-in you trying to install.  It sounds like you don't know what plug-ins you want to install.  In that case you don't need to install any.  At some point you may read about a plug-in and what it can do and feel you have a need for it.  Then you will have a reason to install a plug-in that is not installed by default.  There may also be a cost involved most worthwhile plug-ins are not free.
Adobe Optional Plug_ins downloads are Plugins Adobe want to remove from Photoshop  and no longer install by default. Also at some point in time these will no longer install into the current Photoshop for Adobe will remove feature or interfaces the use. For example the CS5 optional plugins will install in Windows CS6 perpetual version 13.0.1.3 but not in Subscription version 13.1.2 or perpetual Mac version 13.0.6 fot its 64bit only and the Mac CS5 optional plug-in for Picture package is only a 32bit plug-in.
You will need to keep and maintain old versions of Photoshop if Adobe remove features you use in new versions of Photoshop.

  • EDI Config steps for the IC sales invoice to post invoice receipts

    Hi experts,
I need to setup EDI in which the Intercompany sales invoice in company A auto triggers the incoming invoice receipt posting in company B.
    My scenario is as below:
    1. Company C places a PO to Company B
    2. Company B creates a sales order for Company C in which the delivering plant assigned belongs
        to Company A.
    3. Company A ships the parts directly to Company C
    4. Company A bills intercompany B
    5. Sales invoice created in step should auto create the incoming invoice receipt at Company B
    6. Company B then bills Company C
I need to setup the above mentioned in step no:5.
Could you send me the configuration steps to establish the above?
Thanks for your great help !
    Regards,
    Pri

    Hi Prakash,
Thanks for your reply. Since there is no PO in this step which are the only required steps for me to
    proceed with?
We already have the steps in our system which works fine for PO based invoice receipts.
With the steps to be there already in the system, when I try to post the intercompany billing & if I add
RD04 manually for now for my testing, it says
"No entry in Outbound table not found"
"No Partner profile (Outbound parameter) could be found using the following key,
    //SI3300 / KU / RE / INVOIC / FI
I do not know where this Partner type RE comes from. Do you have any idea?

  • How can we provide F4 help for parameter field.

    Hi All,
How can I provide F4 help for parameter field.
    Regards,
    Amar

    hi,
different ways of applying search help are :
    you can use anyone:
    1)   CALL FUNCTION 'F4IF_INT_TABLE_VALUE_REQUEST'
    or
    2)
can follow these simple steps for search help:
go to se11==> put some name after ticking search help radiobutton==> create==>
then tick " elementery search help " and press enter ===>then put description and table name in selection method ===>then put the field on which u want search help
in search help parameter==> tick IMP EXP ==> write 1 in lpos and spos===>save and activate===> double click on table name ===>  select that field and press *search help tab* above===> then copy
    3 )
    methods of applyind search help:
For search help sometimes we use MATCHCODE----->when we apply it directly to parameter or select option.they are obselete now ii.For search help sometimes we CALL FUNCTION 'F4IF_INT_TABLE_VALUE_REQUEST' ??------->if we want to populate data of internal table as search help.
iii.For search help sometimes we declare tablename-fieldname in selection?------>if that field in that table is having seach help or check table ..F4 will be avaliable directly.
    also:
Fixed value of domain can also work as search help.
i hope it will help u a lot
    thaks and regards

  • No routing selection in order through parameter effectivity

    Hi,
I have created routing and BOM in CEWB with parameter effectivity with change number. But while creating order in co08 with sale order no; i am getting the error message as no routing found. The sale order no we are mentioning as parameter effectivity no while routing, BOM, Change no. creation. With the change no; i am creating the routing and bom. But in while order creation i am not getting the routing and bom. Please help me where i have done the wrong. weather in parameter effectivity creation or is there any integration of order creation with sale order no ? Please guide me why i am not getting the routing to my order. And i have to get the operational data of parameter effectivity of 1311 sale order only. i have created routing and bom with parameter effectivity 1308 to open interval.
    Regards,
    Mastan.

I assume these 3 tyres are 3 different material number in BOM at 3 different position and get selected with a selection condition as per user assignmnet of values? in same way in super routing there can be 3 different operation to which these materials can be assigned or there can be only one operation which will work as " Tyre assembly"
These 3 tyres are three different materials namely pirelli_tyre, goodyear_tyre and MRF_tyre. They are all in the same position in the BOM. Depending on the value assigned to the characteristic Tyre_type any one of the above 3 materials will be selected.
I created one sales order and my when converting the planned order to production order it throws the following error. I am able to proceed with a warning for both 'yes' and 'know' options. Let's say I click yes now, and then I proceed and then I go to the 'Production order create: Header' screen. Now when I click the button 'operation overview' on top I am able to see an operation which is not at all present in my super routing. Don't know how this happens .
Whereas for another component (dirtbike_Frame) in the BOM I created a separate routing with one single operation and assigned it to the material (dirtbike_frame) apart from assigning it in the super routing and writing the correct selection condition so for this material (dirtbike_frame) the routing gets picked properly.

  • How is the -gm parameter effecting query runtime in detail?

During test I found out, that the parameter -gm seems to have some dramatic impact onto runtime of queries. In Detail I found a something like factor 0.5 to 0.6 inside my tests for a smaller system:
    -iqtc 12000
    -iqmc 12000
    -iqlm 1000
    -gm 100
    -m
    -iqrlvmem 6000
When setting -gm 1001, runtimes for a single query goes up from about 10 to about 40s.
So how is the -gm parameter effecting IQ in detail?

When IQ starts it allocates threads based on the -iqmt parameter.  If you don't set it, then it is computed as something like:
-- 60 threads for each core up to 4
-- 50 threads for each core after 4
-- number of connections (-gm option)
-- add 6 more just for good measure
Let's assume that your IQ instance has 16 cores and you have -gm set to 100 .  IQ would allocate 946 threads (60*4+50*12+100+6).  We have to add 1 more thread to this, too.  Before we can allocate threads, we have 1 thread that is running to start the server.
On my 16 core system, here are the threads allocated at startup for various values of -gm:
         -gn 10: 857 threads
-gn 100: 947 threads (notice the +1 from the above algorithm?)
         -gn 1000: 1847 total threads
There are two major deductions from the thread total: IO threads and SA/user threads.
Of the threads, 40% are supposed to be held in reserve to handle IO tasks (sweeper and prefetch threads are set to 10% each and apply to main and temp cache) via the Prefetch_Threads_Percent and Sweeper_Threads_Percent options.  I am double checking this area just to make sure.  There was some work done on this in the v16 timeline.
For user threads, I don't see you having set -gn.  Assuming that -gn is not set, then IQ will reserve 5 + -gm threads (105).  Not a problem.  IQ will grab 5 more threads than are allocated via the above algorithm, but that's OK.
Things go a bit wrong on you when your -gn is set to the recommended value of 1.5 * -gm.  What happens is that we are computing the number of threads needed based on -gm (100 or 1000).  However, we are actually allocating threads based on -gm (105, 1005, 150, or 1500 depending on the default or best practices used).
Imagine that -gn is set to 1.5x -gm.  Of the 1847 threads allocated, 1500 are held in reserve for user connections.  Read that as threads for the catalog only.  There would be just 347 threads left over.  But don't forget the IO threads either.  Now all of a sudden there are no threads left for any work in IQ.  We are thread starved.  When IQ gets into a thread starvation mode, we have little or no threads left over to do work in IQ.  At that time, we use the one guaranteed thread that each user connection has to do all work.  This holds true for worker thread starvation as well as IO thread starvation.
One of two things is happening in your case.  You are either thread starved and forced to run everything single threaded or your system has so many threads that it must spend too much time maintaining threads that are not being used.
If you can run sp_iqsysmon in '-debug' mode you can look at the "Thread Manager" section to check out the thread usage and allocations.

  • Parameter Effectivity and BAPI_NETWORK_COMP_ADD

Any suggestions on how to set/pass parameter effectivity data when adding a component using BAPI_NETWORK_COMP_ADD?

    Hi,
It's really interesting. The field you are referring to has a unique data element and domain. They are not being used anywhere else. Also, Field is not getting validated again in this FM. What I would suggest is
If the networks earlier created were created using a BAPI in a program, you could use the field in this also.
Else, based on your requirement you have to choose the value. For ex, If thro' WBS use '08'.

    Hi Ram,
Repartitioning can be useful if you have already loaded data to your InfoCube, and:
1.You did not partition the InfoCube when you created it.
    2. You loaded more data into your InfoCube than you had planned when you partitioned it.
3.You did not choose a long enough period of time for partitioning.
4.Some partitions contain no data or little data due to data archiving over a period of time.
    <b>Integration</b>
All database providers support this function except DB2 for Linux, UNIX, Windows and MAXDB. For DB2 for Linux, UNIX and Windows, you can use clustering or reclustering instead. For more information, see Clustering .
    <b>Features
    Merging and Adding Partitions</b>
When you merge and add partitions, InfoCube partitions are either merged at the bottom end of the partitioning schema (merge), or added at the top (split).
Ideally, this operation is only executed for the database catalog. This is the case if all the partitions that you want to merge are empty and no data has been loaded outside of the time period you initially defined. The runtime of the action is only a few minutes.
If there is still data in the partitions you want to merge, or if data has been loaded beyond the time period you initially defined, the system saves the data in a shadow table and then copies it back to the original table. The runtime depends on the amount of data to be copied.
With InfoCubes for non-cumulatives, all markers are either in the bottom partition or top partition of the E fact table. Whether mass data also has to be copied depends on the editing options. For this reason, the partitions of non-cumulative InfoCubes cannot be merged if all of the markers are in the bottom partition. If all of the markers are in the top partition, adding partitions is not permitted. If this is the case, use the Complete Repartitioning editing option.
You can merge and add partitions for aggregates as well as for InfoCubes. Alternatively, you can reactivate all of the aggregates after you have changed the InfoCube. Since this function only changes the DB memory parameters of fact tables, you can continue to use the available aggregates without having to modify them.
SAP recommends that you completely back up the database before you execute this function. This ensures that if an error occurs (for example, during a DB catalog operation), the can restore the system to its previous status.
    <b>Complete Partitioning</b>
Complete Partitioning fully converts the fact tables of the InfoCube. The system creates shadow tables with the new partitioning schema and copies all of the data from the original tables into the shadow tables. As soon as the data is copied, the system creates indexes and the original table replaces the shadow table. After the system has successfully completed the partitioning request, both fact tables exist in the original state (shadow table), as well as in the modified state with the new partitioning schema (original table). You can manually delete the shadow tables after repartitioning has been successfully completed to free up the memory. Shadow tables have the namespace /BIC/4F<Name of InfoCube> or /BIC/4E<Name of InfoCube>.
You can only use complete repartitioning for InfoCubes. A heterogeneous state is possible. For example, it is possible to have a partitioned InfoCube with non partitioned aggregates. This does not have an adverse effect on functionality. You can automatically modify all of the active aggregates by reactivating them.
    <b>Monitor</b>
You can monitor the repartitioning requests using a monitor. The monitor shows you the current status of the processing steps. When you double-click, the relevant logs appear. The following functions are available in the context menu of the request or editing step:
Delete: You delete the repartitioning request; it no longer appears in the monitor, and you cannot restart. All tables remain in their current state. The InfoCube may be inconsistent.
Reset Request: You reset the repartitioning request. This deletes all the locks for the InfoCube and all its shadow tables.
Reset Step: You reset the canceled editing steps so that they are reset to their original state.
Restart: You restart the repartitioning request in the background. You cannot restart a repartitioning request if it still has status Active (yellow) in the monitor. Check whether the request is still active (transaction SM37) and, if necessary, reset the current editing step before you restart.
    <b>Background Information About Copying Data</b>
By default, the system copies a maximum of six processes in parallel. The main process splits dialog processes in the background. These dialog processes each copy small data packages and finish with a COMMIT. If a timeout causes one of these dialog processes to terminate, you can restart the affected copy operations, after you have altered the timeout time. To do this, choose Restart Repartitioning Request.
    <b>Background Information About Error Handling</b>
Even if you can restart the individual editing steps, you should not reset the repartitioning request or the individual editing steps without first performing an error analysis.
During repartitioning, the relevant InfoCube and its aggregates are locked against modifying operations (loading data, aggregation, rollup and so on) to avoid inconsistent data. In the initial dialog, you can manually unlock objects. This option is only intended for cases where errors have occurred and should only be used after the logs and datasets have been analyzed.
    <b>Transport</b>
Since the metadata in the target system is adjusted without the DB tables being converted when you transport InfoCubes, repartitioned InfoCubes may only be transported when the repartitioning has already taken place in the target system. Otherwise inconsistencies that can only be corrected manually occur in the target system.
    <b>Activities</b>
You can access repartitioning in the Data Warehousing Workbench using Administration, or in the context menu of your InfoCube.
You can schedule repartitioning in the background by choosing Initialize. You can monitor the repartitioning requests by choosing Monitor.
    Hope this helps

  • Any steps for Setting up NetTalk on M20

I notice there is a method to set up xbox for use on cisco valet router m20 by accessing the router page and tweaking some of the settings.
Is there a similar method to dedicate one of the router ports for use by NetTalk?
I have inconsistent performance and think the router may need tweaking.
I think NetTalk can be set to 4.2.2.2 (or something to this effect)
If anyone is interested in what I am experiencing - when NetTalk is plugged into the router, the led light for the port is blue while the other leds stay green.  Which I think is correct and a good thing.
However, sometimes the NetTalk goes off line and i have to disconnect it from the router to re-establish connectivity.
And sometimes all the ledsl turn blue and requires that i unplug the NetTalk gadget from the router and reset everything.
    Update to above post:
The following response was provided to me by NetTalk Support.  Can anyone help me execute the steps below?
    " Hello,
We believe a port change in your unit may alleviate your current issue. Please, if possible, place your DUO on the DMZ option of your router by logging into the router interface and placing the DUO's IP into the DMZ.
Alternatively you can port forward Port 80 TCP to the IP of the DUO. This will allow us to gain access to the DUO via the public IP from our end and allow us to make the necessary port change. Let us know when this is done.
Once this is done please visit http://www.canyouseeme.org/ and check to see if port 80 is visible. If it is visible then generally we should be able to access your unit."

    @ HDNUT
Well, if you are using (or want to use ) nettalk directly from your router, there is no problem with configuring the router with placing the nettalk ip in DMZ.
If setting up a DMZ dedicated to for the NetTalk device doesn't improve your situation, you will likely need to send the unit in for replacement or get your money back from the retailer due to the device being incomptable with your system.  My suggestion is to get your money back and try something else.
(Unfortunately, I waited too long for the NetTalk people to help me and i forfeited my option to return the inoperational device for a refund. NetTalk finally sent me a firmware update which killed the device DEAD.   It required a number of emails and then threats and many weeks to finally get them to issue a replacement.  To date, i havent received one yet and it may not still work when i do. So i recommend for you not to wait if device isn't working after setting up the DMZ.)
In any case, when the router no longer has NetTalk connected to it, you can remove the DMZ settings from via the router page.
The steps for configuring the DMZ are provided in this thread.  (They were eventually provided to me by the NetTalk people  and I saved them on this thread for others.)
    Good Luck !
PS: A friend of mine has the same computer configuration as i do but uses OOMA VOIP with great success but its pricy.
