STMS config
Hi,
Currently we have three system landscape DEV>QA>Prod
Now we are introducing one more environment (Training) .That means when you release the request from QA then it has to be populate to Production and Training environment.
Now my question is how to configure STMS for 4 system landscape?
Please suggest if you have done this scenario.
- Kristene
Hi kristene,
Adding New Instance to TMS Setup.
1.Log on to client 000 of the SAP instance to serve as the Domain Controller.
2.Go to transaction SE06.
3.Click on the Perform Post Installation Actions button.
4.Go to transaction STMS.
5.You should see a popup box with the title TMS: Configure Transport
Domain. If the popup doesn't say that, press F6 to change to the correct popup box.
6.Fill in the TMS: Configure Transport Domain popup with the
Description, Name of DOMAIN_<SID>, and the description of the Transport Domain. Then click Save.
7.On the Transport Management System screen (if you arent there, back out until you are), assuming that this is the first SAP instance and there are no other
installed SAP instances in your landscape yet, and assuming that you want your transport requests to be transportable and not local only,
click on Overview → Systems.
8.On the System Overview Domain Domain_<SID> screen, click SAP System → Create → External System. Fill in QAS if you are going to have a three system configuration or PRD if you are going to have a two system configuration, or make up a <SID> if you are never really going to have another SAP system. Fill in the rest of the information including the Path which is assumed to be
<current server>:\usr\sap\trans for NT or \usr\sap\trans for UNIX. Click Environment → Transport Routes.
9.On the Display Transport Routes screen, click the User Settings button, turn on the Hiergraphical List Editor, and click the √ Continue button. Back out of the screen and then go back in you should see the list in a text mode which makes it easier to handle.
10.On the Display Transport Routes screen, click the Display<>Change button to toggle into Change Mode.
11.On the Change Transport Routes screen, click Configuration → Standard Configuration → Development and Production System.
12.Fill in the Development and Production System popup, using your current SAP system SID as the Development system and the SAP instance you created in step #8 as the Production system. Click the √ mark to Continue.
13.Back on the Change Transport Routes screen, click the Save icon and confirm all the popup questions.
14.On the Change Transport Routes screen, back out until you can once more see the Transport Management System screen. Click Overview → Systems.
15.On the Display TMS Configuration: System XXX screen, double-click the TMS Domain domain controller SAP instance.
16.On the Display TMS Configuration: System XXX screen, click the Display<>Change button to toggle into Change Mode. Click the Communication tab and make sure that the Transport Group Name is correct. It should contain of the Domain Controller in the format of DOMAIN_<SID> where <SID> is the System ID of the SAP Domain controller. Use the dropdown to find the correct entry it the field is blank. Click the Transport Tool tab. Verify that the information on the tab is correct and click the Insert Row button. Add a Parameter of CTC and a Value of 1. Click the Save button.
17.Do step #16 for every system in your TMS Domain, making sure to change all Transport Group Names are the same and the CTC row is added to each with a value of 1.
18.Save your way back the the main STMS screen.
I hope this steps may help u !
reward points welcome!

STMS config at two different windows domain
Hi,
We are under ECC6 Implementation ,We have i nstalled dev,qa, and prod.
But as per security reason client placed development in USTDC.com , and QA and PROD SHAFT.com
Now when we configure Transport domain in SAP level, how would i configure domain controleer?
Should i configure two different domains , one for dev. QA and prod for one.
when we release the request from dev , need to copy cofiles and data files to other domain?
Please suggest some best.
Thanks
KristeneIf you want this split screen thingy for a single app, do like captfred suggests or see if the app itself supports some sort of splitting, like MS Excel.
If you want to do this system-wide, maybe you can get what you want by activating and using Spaces: http://support.apple.com/kb/PH4313 -
Hello,
I have only one R3 system. But i have two clients called 100 and 200 and those are active with in this R3 system.
I would like to configure "transport route" between these two two clients.
Can anyone please give me step by step guidelines to create such configuration?
Thanks
RamHi Rama Subramaniam,
If you have only one R/3 with two active clients
create virtual two virtual systems for the two clients
then build the transport route between these two virtual systems

How to add a new system in existing 3 system lanscape in stms
Hi,
we have 3 system in our STMS i.e Dev->Qua->Prod. now we have install one more quality system for business requirement and add the same saystem in stms.
now my query is that how we can add this new system in existing transport route so that transport request can be added automatically to import queue of both quality system once released from development system.Hi Nadar,
It is possible, But not recommended. Better if you have solution like...
DEV-->QAS1-->QAS2-->PRD
But it is possible by using transport groups. There are lots of posts aleady regarding this.

STMS configuration error SAPSQL_ARRAY_INSERT_DUPREC
Hello Experts,
We have upgraded out BW system from BW3.5 to BI7 EHP1. We have deleted the current STMS config using DICO. Now when we are re-configuring the STMS, we are getting dumps stating SAPSQL_ARRAY_INSERT_DUPREC -- The ABAP/4 Open SQL array insert results in duplicate database records.
We are help up at this point. Tried to dig through various forums. Please help!
Best Regards,
Anup ThatteHi,
From which client have you deleted the TMS. Please login to 000 client of the domain controller and delete the TMS from STMS tcode and also delete all the transport routes and after that distribute changes. Then create the TMS again and add systems to it, create the transport routes and then activate and distribute the changes to the system.
Thanks & Regards,

STMS - Import Queue not updating
Hi,
I'm hoping for a little guidance to track down a problem.
We have a simple 3 system configuration (DEV > QAS > PROD) and we're currently about 2 months away from going live with the Production box.
However, the STMS import queue for Production hasn't updated since 13/09. It's status is "Data obsolete or missing".
Being a bit of a novice, I'm not sure where to start to try track down why, after 12 months, this queue has stopped updating.
Any help would be appreciated.
ThanksIf the queue is not been updated the most likely scenario is that it can't read the trasnport directory or the STMS config is not maintained properly... what happen when you try to refresh the queue?... any errors?, Check the system status in the domain controller if theres an issue try to redistribute.

Hi guys,
Please could someone assist.
We recently had a power failure on the SAP box and when I brought it back up again, it worked perfectly, EXCEPT when I try to transport.
I get this message when I run a check on the Transport Tool.
This is tp version 372.04.57 (release 700, unicode enabled)
E-

tp returncode summary:
TOOLS: Highest return code of single steps was: 0
ERRORS: Highest tp internal error was: 0208
I have set full permission to the directory, and I have opened the file and it is exactly the same as the backup file.
Does anyone have any ideas?
Thanks!Hi Bradley,
As i mentioned above you have to rename all the files except domain controller files.
Just go to /usr/sap/trans/bin, and rename(Do not delete) all the TP_DOMAIN_SID.PFL files.
Then come to sapgui, login to domain controller>>>STMS>>>>Go to systems>>>>Select one by one system>>>>Delete>>>>Delete TMS Configuration.
Then come to both the systems(Which are included in domain controller)>>>>STMS>>>SYSTEMS>>>>Delete TMS Config.
Then STMS>>>>Include in domain controller>>>enter all the datails of your domain controller.
This is the step to re-adding the systems to your domain controller.
Then come to domain controller>>>>STMS>>>>SYSTEMS>>>refresh>>>>Slect newly added system>>>Approve>>>>activate and distribute TMS config.
Do the same steps for the second system to addd to Domain controller.
Note: Here you are deleting your entire STMS config except domain dontroller config. and re-adding the systems to domain controller.

New quality system addition in three system landscape
Hi,
I need to add a new quality system (TAQ) in a three system landscape.
TED(development)----> TEQ(quality)----->TEP(Production).
new landscape will be
How should i add the new system in landscape.
1)Through extended Tranport
2) is there any virtual system addition which can help
3)how can i preserve my current STMS configuration for backup.
Kindly help with the approach and procedure for the same.Hello Swati,
You can add another QA system using normal STMS config. Just need to create another delivery route from DEV to QA.
Older STMS configuration is stored using version management. You can later extract the older version from Tcode : STMS -> Overview -> Transport routes-> Configuration menu -> Get other version.

Problem Configuring Single-System TMS in new install of SM 7.1
Going through post install steps of new Solution Manager 7.1 system; SID is SMV
Follwed the instructions to set up the Transport Management System in Client 000. The consistency check returns all green checkmarks.
User TMSADM exists in client 000, Profiles TP_DOMAIN_SMV.PFL and TP_DOMAIN_SMV.BAK exist along with DEFAULT.CFG in usr\sap\trans\bin.
STMS config created RFC's TMSADM-SMV.DOMAIN_SMV and TMSSUP-SMV.DOMAIN_SMV, and they both pass the "Connection Test". ("@" replaced by "-" in this message so they don't look like E-Mail addresses)
Used SM59 to create an RFC for SMV that passes the "Connection Test"
However, using SOLMAN_SETUP, the step to "Check TMS Configuration" fails with message "No valid RFC destination exists for system SMV"
2 questions:
1. Does that matter?
2. How can I get a green light on this check?
Thanks in advance for your time and consideration.Hi Nicholas,
I'm not sure. The only thing I know for sure is that it is 7.1
I attempted to do the update, and got to the screen where it would take me from ISS (initial) to SPS03, so I guess the answer is no, we're not on SP03.
I have not been able to accomplish the update because my version of SPAM is not quite up-to-date. I downloaded a later version of SPAM but it got put into my download basket as requiring approval. If I understand it correctly, Maintenance Optimizer is the tool I need to approve it, but that transaction isn't yet available in our system. So I'm trying to figure that out right now.
I haven't finished all of the Post Install activities yet, as you can see from this thread, and apparently those are necessary before updating to SPS03.
As you can see, I'm a rookie at basis, but I'm all there is here. My 10 years of SAP Development haven't prepared me for the dark side of SAP.
Thanks Nicholas. -
MiniWAS: Just a guess on emails
HI everyone,
I have recently installed a MiniWAS on my labtop. And after a really hard time with Support packages (now I am over SP 39) and getting some stable system I have been able to work. I keep having some troubles with STMS config. I am not able to upload anything. And of course I cannot get thru BSP tutorials due to some error with domain or something like that. This issues are right now parked. I really had huge headaches trying to solve them. (I hope to get some energy and get back to this "headaches" soon).
However, now I try to send an email from SAP outside. Is it possible, I have XP Home edition on my labtop, and I think I should update to XP professional?. is it right?
Please, some guidance on it would be great.
Thanks in advance and keep everyone this way.to be able to send email from SAP to outside address(internet) sapconnect needs to be configured.

Need to create a transport of SD config data from DEV 120 to DEV 110
During our conversion some config modifications were mad in DEV 120 instead of DEV 110.
I need to get the config:
SPRO> Sales Distribution> Billing> Billing Documents> copy sales documents to Billing documents
From 120 to 110.
I have tried to force a transport creation in 120, and used SCC1 to import into 110, but no data comes over.
How can I force all the data from these config tables to load into a transport so can send from 120 to 110.
Thanks,
Bev BarbushHi Beverly,
I would try bringing this transport in via STMS and then reviewing the import log to see why the data is not going across. What I've normally seen in this situation is the data was not correctly added to the transport before it was imported.
I would NOT copy config tables back from the QAS system. Copying select portions of config data from one system to another is likely to break all sorts of logical relationships between tables.
Have you guys tried running a config comparison between 110 and 120 to see what the actual differences are?
Hope that helps.
