STMS return code and status on imported request

We have a couple of transports that were imported in our Production system in 2008.
When I go to STMS under rc the status is a gray diamond and under ST the status is green.
They were imported in 2008 any reason why the RC status it's not green.
Transports were imported successfully.

grey means no import steps performed yet and green under ST mean the request is waiting to be imported. So grey and green are not contradicting each other here. You said they were imported in 2008. At a guess i would say they have since been added to the buffer again?
You can easily confirm that from the logs in STMS. If u see a "selection for import" - it means the same as addtobuffer on command line level

Unable to connect to SQL Server : bad return code or status

When attempting to connect to a server running Windows Server 2008 R2 and SQL Server 2008 R2 the following error message is returned.
Error Connecting to Database
A SQLServer request resulted in a bad return code or status but no error message was returned.
The client is pointed to another similar server running Windows Server 2008 R2 and SQL Server 2008 R2, a connection can be made successfully. Looking at the registry both servers have the same version of MDAC 6.1.7601.17514.
UPDATE
The SQL Server Error Log records the following information.
Message
Length specified in network packet payload did not match number of bytes read; the connection has been closed. Please contact the vendor of the client library. [CLIENT: 10.1.30.106]
Message
Error: 17836, Severity: 20, State: 17.
It seems like the client is actually reaching the SQL Server but failing to login.

The version of MDAC on the server doesn't matter. It is the client version of MDAC/WDAC that is used. Do you know what SQL Server API the client application is using (i.e. ODBC, OLE DB, SqlClient, JDBC, etc)? You might try a simple connection
test from ODBC data source manager or script.
I think this may be error message from a Sybase client. That would explain a lot.

Return code and handle

Back to basics! but I do not have clear idea of what the "Return Code" and "Handle" are? I have a small VI that I want to incorporate into another VI. WHat role these two terms play such case?

Sorry about ot being clear about my issue. I have a Trigger Enable VI that someone (in fact, a company whose DAQ card we use for our experiements) wrote for us. The VI, when corrently incorporated into the main VI (which performs data acquisition and analysis) will trigger the acquisition system at right instant and gather data for next 1/10 sec. The main VI controls the DAQ card installed in our computer. It takes two signals (f=25KHz) as inputs from 2 photo detectors. The card can take the ramp output (f=10Hz, Amp=1Vpp) from an external signal generator and should begin DAQ and processing when the ramp signal reaches its peak (+0.5V) and continue taking data until it reaches trough (-0.5V), i.e. 5000 samples in one cycle of trigger signal.
Now, the main VI has multiple Sub-VI's and one of them configures the card for input signal levels, trigger levels, etc. This sub-VI also has a couple of sub-VIs regarding the extermal triggering. Since I figured that the Trigger Enable VI will have to be placed inside this VI, I was looking at the block diagram of the Trigger Enable VI and the two outputs it has are "Handle Out" and "Return Code". I am not sure what they are/mean hence the post.

here after processing the flat file i have to update the return code of the session and total no of docs, total amoount and the posted documents and their amount in
a Ztable. How can i get the return code and the total amount for successfully processed records as well as for unsuccessful records with their total no. of records after processing the flat file.

In ur code U will be having the syntax for prosting in FB01.
CALL TRANSACTION 'FB01'
                                          USING bdcdata_tab
                                          OPTIONS FROM opt
                                          MESSAGES INTO t_msg
This message tab will contain all the messages returned by FB01. if the posting is sucessfully done - the message tab will contain the message ( it will contain error messages in case it fails to post).
So u can tap the messsages from here and report accordingly to ur output log.

Return code 8 when we import transport request in production server

Hi,
I imported one transport request in Production server. I got the error "Ended with return code 8". I checked the log. It shows " R3TRMSAGZDVLP_MSGCL was repaired in this system" and "LIMUMESSZDVLP_MSGCL051 was not imported in this step"
How to i rectify?

Hi,
The particular object has been changed by some one in your production server.Here you can check whether there is any particular transport request in which the object R3TRMSAGZDVLP_MSGCL is included.if so release that request and perform the import again.If you are sure that you want to import is ignoring the repair then use unconditional mode for the same at the time of import.now the import will be successful without issues.

Return code 12 usually means the transport tool problem. You can start with updating the TP and R3trans with the latest patch on the SAP Service Market.

Tp return code 8 when doing importing script files ie KX ..

Hi,
Our import was running fine and when importing KX Files it ended with return code = 8.
And now we want to check whetner the client independent data ie :<SID>KT has been imported succesfully or not..
Now we are unable to logon to the imported client using sap* password..It is saying that is locked..
we are unable to logon using any ID..
Could you please provide your valuable suggestions in this regds..

Hi,
The good way i know is to go to the table usr02 directly in the DB and delete the entry for sap* (for the client you created) then when you'll restart the instance the user will be created again with the defult SAP password. This is always works.
This is the procedure to do it from SQLplus
sqlplus "/as sysdba"
DELETE from SAPR3.USR02 where mandt='000'
and bname = 'SAP*';
After this if you are trying to log in with SAP* ans password "pass" you should check in the cleint (source client the following profile parameter and set the value as 0
login/no_automatic_user_sapstar = 0. Then only you can login to any new client as SAP* with pwd PASS)
If it is not the case try with sap standard password.

Return order and status

Hello All,
I've created a sales order type with a "SD document category" ='H' (returns).
Linked to this sales order type, I've created an item category with a 'billing relevance' = ' B' (relevant for order-related billing - status acc to order qty).
The aim is to create a return with no delivery, but only an invoice : I want to invoice directly the return.
However, when I invoice my return, the status of my return stays in "Being processed" and is not moved to "completed".
Is there a solution so as to move this document status to "completed" when invoicing is performed?

Check the copy control settings in t.code VTFA.
At the header level, check the box Copy item number. At item level, Check billing quantity value (as A) and Pos/Neg quantity as +.
You can always refer the standard document types and try to copycat the values.
Also check the sales order item category in t.code VOV7. Make sure that the item cat.status.group contain value as 2.
After any changes made, create new documents and check again.

STMS: Return Code 8: The program is not Unicode-compatible

Dear SAP Friends,
I am currently importing some TRs on our DEV system. However, I am getting some error messages. The log says "The program (name of program) is not Unicode-compatible, according to its attributes."
Is there a fix for this?

I want to see the return code for transport requests after importing to QAS from DEV. What is the transaction code to find return code and can you explain in brief.

you can check it out in STMS
wht you can do is ,,
Run Tcode STMS > Overview imports (F5) > you will find all import queues > then click on the import queue in which u want to see the status of transport (DEV , QAS , PRD )
> then find out the transport no > click on that > then click on logs or press ( ctrl + f4)

1204 Return code

Hi Experts,
During our last upgrade, our transport request with few objects has ended with 1204 return code(Cancelled status). Now we are upgrading our system again. But now, we are not able to upgrade all the objects in this request since it says that these havent released. How do we proceed?

Hi,
If you dont require the objects in the TR(that have cancelled state) and those with errors then try to place the other objects(correct ones) in a separate TR and delete the objects from the old TR.
You can use SE03 transaction to add/modify the object entries and also unlock the TR.
Then release the new TR.

Return code 127 for gzip command

Dear All,
             While i am trying to ZIP a flat file using below piece of code,
CONCATENATE 'gzip'
              lf_unix_fnam
                      INTO lf_folder_z
                            SEPARATED BY space.
CALL 'SYSTEM' ID 'COMMAND' FIELD lf_folder_z
                ID 'TAB'     FIELD lt_result.
This code was working previously. But now it is returning an 127 as return code and my file is not getting zipped due to this. Any details about return code 127 would be a greate help.

Port Number: 80
with default value for Web Application Name configured.
For SMS_AWEBSVC_CONTROL_MANAGER component, I am getting below error in Component Status:
Application Web Service Control Manager detected AWEBSVC is not responding to HTTP requests. The http status code and text is 400, Bad Request.
Possible cause: Internet Information Services (IIS) isn't configured to listen on the ports over which AWEBSVC is configured to communicate.
Solution: Verify that the designated Web Site is configured to use the same ports which AWEBSVC is configured to use.
Possible cause: The designated Web Site is disabled in IIS.
Solution: Verify that the designated Web Site is enabled, and functioning properly.
