Strange email occurrence

I love my new Q10! I have had several Blackberrys, my last one being a Torch, and there is something strange happening with my email since I switched to Q10.  I use Outlook and retrieve email to my computer.  However, since I've switched to Q10, not all of my email actually retrieves to the computer! I wouldn't know I even received it except for my BB Q10 retrieves everything! I think I read something about how the email is now handled a little differently so what I need to know is, what do I do so that Outlook retrieves everything? All email remains on the server, so it's there to retrieve. Also, some friends are getting emails that are coming from my Blackberry email address, which I don't use, something about not receiving a message.  I also am getting random emails from [email protected] with the subject being Delivery Status Notification (Failure).  Thank you for your helpf!

It sounds as if you might need to go into settings and click to leave the messages on the server. If you don't and the Q gets the message before the computer it is then deleted and it's not there for the computer to get it. Go into Settings and Email. You should do this for both the Q and your computer.

Strange email problem; it started only loading unread emails, but from 3 months ago. It is now loading new emails too, but no emails in the past month, read or unread. It's gmail, set up through the phone, I've restarted restored and updated firmware, deleted the account, anything I could think of, but it's just not accurately downloading the most recent emails.

The answer is very simple: You were not the original owner of the phone. Target sold you a phone that had been returned. You can verify the date of the original sale here: Apple - Support - Check Your Service and Support Coverage. I suspect you will find that the warranty expiration date is not one year from the date that you bought it.

  • Strange email addresses during setup

    Hi all,
Have a question that has stumped both Apple and Verizon representatives. I received my iPhone 6 plus today, and at a point during setup it asks me for my iCloud ID and password. After accepting that, it takes me to the screen asking which backup to use. After selecting the most recent (or any for that matter) it took me to a screen asking for the password associated to a completely random and strange e-mail address I have never seen. The Apple repeesentative finally told me to skip this step. I agreed, and when taken to the next step it again asked me for the password to the email address associated with purchases except it was a different strange email. I once more skipped, only to see another e-mail that I have no knowledge on and do not know anyone associated with it. Both Apple suggestions do not appear to be viable, as I never back up or sync from other computers and I haven't added any other emails to my account. I toyed with the idea that maybe I had received a floor model, but I don't think that's the case as it arrived in the original, plastic wrapped package. I realize this was long-winded, just wondering if anyone had any ideas on the cause. I searched and didn't find anything remotely related, which makes this even stranger. thanks in advance to anyone who might have a suggestion.

If you are on WiFi only then it should not cost anything...BB10 devices are capable of all data-level services via WiFi only. However, what is not controllable is what actually happens when you are traveling. For example, if you leave your Mobile Network running for roaming voice services, then there is of course some possibility that something will traverse that network instead of the WiFi network (out of range, for example). But, of you are really concerned, one way to be certain would be to keep all Data Services off while you are strictly in voice mode (e.g., not near any WiFi). When you are on WiFi, turn your Mobile Network services off and turn on Data Services. That way, you can be sure that no data services will ever traverse the Mobile Network.
However, that may be overkill...but there is no way for us to know what your carrier nor the carrier on which you are roaming might or might not do.
    Good luck!

  • Strange email address while restoring from iCloud!

    Hey
I am restoring my data from iCloud to my new iPhone 5S but while I am restoring they tell me to enter the password for emails idk and when I click cancel they show me another email address until I reach to mine.
what's happening? and why I am seeing like 4-5 emails adresses before I reach mine?
    Thanks!

    Thanks for ur reply
My problem is when I am restoring from iCloud and when they ask me to enter my password they ask me to enter the password for email I don't know and when I click skip I see another strange email until I reach to my email and enter my password to start syncing my data from iCloud. So I mean that why they are showing me strange emails addresses that I don't know and I have to write their password so from where did that email address come?

  • Strange Sounds/Occurrences

So the "Strange Sounds/Occurrences" are coming from two places:
first: the fans. It seems as thought they run quite a bit... do fans on MacBooks usually run so fast, so loud, so long? It seems like they're usually running at over 3000 RPM and often much higher... seems like a bit much to me.
My other question is regarding the disc drive. Whenever I turn on the computer or wake it from sleep, the disc drive (at least I'm pretty darn sure it's the disc drive) makes a bit of noise (same rhythm/sound every time). I just want to check to make sure this is normal. It's also a somewhat noisy drive when it comes to loading discs, burning, erasing, etc. Normal, yes? I hope so!
    Any info is appreciated! Thanks!

are you viewing video clips/movies or a video application?
if your video card is working harder then the more heat it will produce, then your fans kick in until the video card is cooled down to the proper temp.
if the fans dont kick in then your card will pretty much melt.

yes, the sound it makes when coming out of sleep is normal.
the sound when you load a cd/dvd into the laptop is also normal... well at least with the 2 mac laptops that i own.
    Any info is appreciated! Thanks!

  • Strange email from Skype ??

Hi! Two times so far that I received a strange email from Skype, in spanish or something!! I'm wondering what this is all about and why the heck spanish? I'm french canadian!
The email says something like :
Tu crédito quedará inactivo en 3 días.
Aparentemente, hace tiempo que no usas tu crédito de Skype. Recuerda que si no lo usas en un periodo de 180 días queda inactivo. Pero no te preocupes porque una vez que quede inactivo puedes reactivarlo cuando estés listo para usarlo. Simplemente inicia sesión en tu cuenta en Internet y sigue los pasos para reactivar el crédito. Detalles de tu cuenta:
    Nombre de usuario: (myusername)
    Saldo: CAD6,86
Plus, why is it talking about my account not being active and a balance of $6,86 I should have over $16...
Not sure what's going on and where to ask...
    Thanks. Pat

Apparently you have not you use your Skype Credit. Remember that if you use it in a period of 180 days is inactive. But do not worry because once you reactivate it is idlewhen you are ready to use. Just log into your online account and follow the steps to revivecredit. Details of your account:

  • Strange email from Sony?

I just received this strange email from Sony. First they called me the king (thanks for that), and after that they apologized for filling my inbox. That was all it said - have no idea what inbox they're talking about, I hardly doubt my inbox here is full. The email made me smile, was nice and all, but still a bit weird Do anyone know what its about? Had to translate it (the red text), cause my emails are in danish.

I had something like this in the early hours of the morning it seems to be something about a welcome ps4 email and them sending to many. Here's how mine looked. You may need to save the picture to get a better look.

  • Found strange email address using my apple account for iMessage

Upon upgrading my iOS devices, I found a strange email account was using my apple id account for iMessage

    Thanks Demo!
I know that last sentence makes NO SENSE WHATSOEVER. I was dozing off when I made this post. What I was trying to say was: "The frustration of not being able to uniquely identify which device is being used is driving me to drink!" Ha Ha
    Thanks again for your input!

  • Blank text from strange email?

I received a text message from a strange email that I am not familiar with and the text message was blank.  Should I be worried?  Or could it just be a mistaken email that was sent to me.  I have a Droid Razr.

We can never be too careful or cautious now days em02587. I'm sorry for the suspicious text message. If you feel this is some type of spam/ scam, you can forward text to 7726, (SPAM), which will initiate an investigation. However, VZW will not contact you about this, as it'll be an internal investigation.
Hopefully this takes care of things!

  • Very Strange Email Occurances - Is it possible device is being hacked?

    Hi
First of all I tried to check on similar occurrences by search prior to posting.  Sorry if this issue has been addressed and I missed it.
    Carrier: Verizon
Model info and OS version: Curve 8530 v5.0.0.973
The phone was purchased new in late August
Two seperate "strange" issues have been occuring which have been happening for the last week or so.
    (1) One Poker Forum I belong to has repeatedly sent me a "lost password" email which you can request if you forget your password and they send you the current password
    (2) I have gotten several "Welcome to Yahoo" messages on an account that I have had for almost 10 years.
What is even more strange to me, is that the Blackberry Device is receiving these email messages from two different yahoo accounts, AND these messages DO NOT show up when I check my email via my home computer (and I have not erased them in any way).  All my other emails are showing up both on the phone and on my computer.
Note: I have four email accounts hooked to the Blackberry
Not sure if this is also connected to problem, but in the same timeframe I have had several "messages" with blank titles and the only information contained when I clicked that I can recall was something about my email address in small print at the top (I can not recall exact wording and somehow these messages are now gone)
    Any Ideas?
    Should I be concerned?
    Thank You

Yep, it's been covered in the Forum many times. There is not a chance your BlackBerry has been hacked, there is no way for it to be hacked.
Your mystery poker emails... I don't know. You might ask that developer or site owner.
The other Yahoo emails, were they asking for account validation?

  • Outlook 2010 - Strange email bounce back issue.

    Hello,
I have a user who's emails are getting rejected by some mail servers.  We are on Exchange 2007, and the user is using Outlook 2010.  The strange thing is, I and many other users on the same server can send to the same address no problem.
I also found that if the user sends mail from OWA or his phone, it goes through fine as well.  His emails get blocked only when he sends from Outlook 2010 on his PC.  I thought it might be something with his ost file, so I had him
delete it and Outlook rebuilt it.  But the issue persisted.  His emails got rejected with a 554 denied error.
I checked and our Exchange server is not on any blacklists and has a good reputation.  Its just this one user that is getting rejected when he sends mail to certain addresses from Outlook 2010.  Is there an issue with Outlook that
    would cause something like this?
    Thanks.

    Hi,
According to your description, I understand that the issue only occurs when sending message from the Outlook client.
Please check the Blocked Senders and Safe Recipients settings in Junk E-mail Options in Outlook 2010. Also try to start Outlook in safe mode and send the test message to check whether the issue persists. If it doesn’t work, change a computer to have a try.

In the mail it asks for verification of my account... Name, email, password, and additional email.

Seems strange to me, is this legit?

Doesn't sound legitimate.  The verification email from Apple looks like this, and includes your name and email address:

  • E72 - strange email issue - help required

Started having a strange problem with my email today. On all accounts set up (hotmail, googlemail, ovi) but not on mail for exchange, my inboxes are emptying themselves completely so that there are no messages in the inbox and then re-populating themselves with all messages, then emptying again and so on. It is happening in a continuous cycle. Emails are all there, then one by one deleted before my eyes, the back again one by one, and then they go etc..
Haven't seen this problem mentioned before. Anyone have any ideas? It's been working fine for over a month until today.

Thanks hadimassa. Been looking here and on the the messaging board, but can't see any of those threads discussing this. Can you point me in the direction of one please. Any solutions posted anywhere? Tempted to try and delete my email accounts from nokia messaging and then re-add them to see if that helps, but don't know if that will open a whole new can of worms. It's literally happening on a 5 minute cycle, which is just eating up data and battery, so need to try and solve pretty urgently.

  • Strange email problem

I have a client who has a main BT Internet email account which works OK.
He set up a second user for his wife.
Her laptop is running Windows Vista, and the email software is Windows Mail.
It all appeared to work OK until about 6 weeks ago.
When the email software is started or the send/receive button is pressed the software asks for the username and password for the account, if these details are entered the software just asks for them again, as if they were wrong.
If this is cancelled the software reports the following error message:-
Account: 'mail.btinternet.com', Server: 'mail.btinternet.com', Protocol: POP3, Server Response: '-ERR [AUTH] Error logging in. Please visit http://mail.yahoo.com', Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No, Server Error: 0x800CCC90, Error Number: 0x800CCC92
If though she logs in via http://mail.yahoo.com, then accesses the email software it all appears to work.
I setup a new Windows 7 PC with her account details, and it functioned fully on our company network, but when it was taken to her property it performed in exactly the same way.
    Any ideas please help me.

    Hi Nigel.
What ISP is the company network on ? If it's not BTinternet, then sending emails from her account would almost certainly fail.
May I ask how you are connecting the W7 PC to the client's network ?
Can you say what particular anti-virus or other security packages both machines are using, because the error message received typically relates to "email scanning" or similar wording used in thos packages. That feature should really be turned off.
Another item is disconnecting the broadband, waiting for a few minutes and reconnecting (or doing a complete power cycle - removing the power for a few minutes). This should get a new IP address (some can last for weeks if the user's line is very stable). An IP address can go "stale" sometimes, causing strange errors which may manifest as mail failures or sporadic website access failures.
It is strange that it seemed to work elsewhere on another computer.
