Stuck in Limbo?

I recently changed the email address on my itunes account.
The "Confirm Email Address" link in the confirmation email says that the new address is already confirmed.
However, the iTunes login says i still have to confirm my new email.    So, now I can't get into my account because my new email address isn't confirmed, and I can't confirm my new email address because iTunes thinks it's already confirmed.     (I tried logging in with my old email address, it won't let me)
How do I get this fixed?

Today is the December 24th and after calling San Antonio TX and Atlanta GA call centers yesterday still no notification of the phones being shipped!   Disappointed but not surprised.
All the supervisors in San Antonio have never gotten free to return my call, again not surprised.  Atlanta call center was smooth, Oh yes sir I see your order and it is pending FedEx pickup, when they pick up tonight you'll get an email that it was shipped!  As of 5:45 AM this morning, yep the next day and still no Email!
Online status (little it is) has not changed.   The phone system to check on the status just loops around!  When I finally get the right combination I get the status "Device shipment received" and asks if I want to activate!   I tried to report that to the call centers, but to deaf ears.
Either the staff on the call centers do not know how to check the orders or the system is so messed up they actually don't get any accurate information either.  The supervisors don't seem to know what to do either to clear the situation up (that is when they can be asked to look into it).
There is nothing else I can seem to do to get Verizon to FIX THIS PROBLEM !
The only good thing is that there is only 14 days left in my contract!  The 30th I'm flying out and won't return until January 11th, so Verizon you have only 5 calendar days to have my phones delivered !
Wow, I've been with Verizon since June 2006. about 8 1/2 years.  This is really too bad.

  • Can't restore 9.5, can't uninstall, stuck in limbo!

I should have known better. I had acrobat 9.5.2 installed, and was perfectly happy with it. I could view PDF docs, and scan from my scanner directly to a PDF document. Then after weeks of the updater reminding me, I finally let X1 install. Much to my dissapointment I could no longer scan directly to PDF fioles from my scanner. So all I wanted to do was "go back", and this is where the trouble started. My machine is Win-XP pro SR3. I used a windows restrore point to go back to the day before my X1 upgrade. After doing that, acrobat 9.5x seemed to work again, and I could now scan to PDF again from my scanner. I thought I was done. But then, after viewing a document in acfrobat, I realized that a lot of features wouldn't work, and I'd keep getting complaints about plugins missing. So next, I downloaded the full install for Acrobat 9.5.2 from adobe and tried to install from scratch. It would get tp about 96% complete, and then fail with a box saying "the product is already installed". So next i went to the windows control panel and tried to remove acrobat, figuring it would install better if it was first completely removed. But the uninstall failed. Upon attempting to eremove acrobat (listed as adobe reader 9.5.2), an alert comes up saying "The patch package cannot be opened". So now I'm stuck in limbo, and I'll probably need some expert help to manually remove the product from my system, or find a way to fix it. Naturally when I got on the adobe chat line, I was basically told they wouldn't support anything but the latest product.

Well thanks. Good to know its a registry cleaner, because cleaning up all remnants of an applications registry entries by hand is very tedious. But a registry cleaner is not a full uninstall, right? And for now, as i said, I did manage to fix my 9.5.2 installation.
As far as the the versions and names, I've probably added to the confsion here, but in my defense let me explain that if you give me a product and call it "X", and after some upgrade it becomes known as "Y", you can see where a customer like me would be challenged to not think of them the same thing. And this time a programmer may have missed an instance of the name "acrobat" when the code base was borrowed. You see, it is indeed Adobe Reader 9.5.2 when you pull down the "help->about" menu. But, I also have an all-in-one Lexmark printer that has scanning capability, and when you use it, it downloads a list of available applications from the target computer that can accept the raw scan data. ACROBAT READER was one of them, and thats what "Adobe Reader" broadcasts to the scanners as an available scan application. This is what I've always used to scan documents and convery them to a PDF file.
So... when I first upgraded to Adobe Reader X1, I lost my ability to scan to "Acrobat Reader" after it deleted files related to "Adobe Reader 9.5.2". And just FYI, it was NOT replaced by a new Adobe Reader scan application, so I lost my ability to "scan to PDF". When I subsequently backed out X1, and restored (and subsequently repaired) Adobe Reader 9.5.2, everything worked fine again, including the ACROBAT Reader option broadcast to my scanner (printer). So just to be clear, it is Abobe Reader 9.5, (and several versions prior incidentally ) that has carried over the word "acrobat", by sending this name as a potential scan application target to my scanner.
I'll be happy to provide you any other particulars you might want, if it might help others in product support. But as for my current issue and situation, the problem was solved, even if by a round about way. Now I certainly would try completely uninstalling it and re-installing from scratch when I have time and have a clone ready to reverse whatever happens if it doesn't work out. But the fact is I still can't! The add/remove programs operation in my control panel still says that "patch package" is missing when I try to do an "uninstall" or "change", and you've just told me that the cleaner will only clean the registry. So it seems I have a situation where at this point, my adobe reader 9.5.2 works, and the only thing I can't do is uninstall it. Remember I mentioned that the X1 install attempt merilly deleted tons of files, and I geuss one of them was the uninstall script.

I was in the middle of updating to 7.0.3 and Itunes stopped working. Now my phone is stuck in limbo (apple logo with status bar under) My power button doesnt work (of course) How do I get it back to normal?

I have same issue. I click on the home button and Wake/sleep at the same time for 30 seconds or more and then the phone entered in Recovery mode. It is erasing my content now and installing the update. Let´s see how this ends. I have iCloud, iTunes match, and backups from previos versions, hope I can restore all my content.
Otherwise I´ll go to the Genius Bar to do a checkup.
    Good luck!
It did not work the first time... The iPhone4 kept in limbo. Then I did disconnect as suggested above and tried again to enter in Recovery mode.  This second time it works. And after restoring the iPhone4 with 7.0.3, it asked me if I want to recover from backup. I did recover from my latest back up and now it is syncing the content.

  • Fidelity Amex - Stuck in Limbo

Hi, I'm stuck in an unbreakable loop and I have no idea how to fix it after calling in 20+ times and spending 6+ hours on the phone. Last week, I applied for the Fidelity Amex card. It said under review. I called the EO the next day and they told approved with a really low CL. I got the card Monday. Attempted to activate it, automated system did not go through. Call sent to a rep, which used some backdoor system or something and got it activated. Tried a 50 cents charge on Amazon and it went through. Next I tried to register the card on the website on the back of the card, fiacardservices.com. Said couldn't match my info and I called the number. Rep said couldn't find any info under my account # or social, got my calls forwarded for about 3 hours until I ended up at approvals. They told me it wasn't their problem since my card was definitely approved. Ended up calling in again and finally landed at a guy that knew what he was doing and he found my info and then put in a data merge request or something like that so it work within a max of 48 hours. It's been more than that and it still won't allow me to register. Called in a few more times, NetAccess always tells me that no system they have will pull up my credit card nor social, I get sent to credit card rep, which after about 15 minutes will find my info with this "other system" at my insistence, but then tell me they can't do anything with online access. Now all the reps say they can't find the notes from that one guy that knew what he was doing. On top of that, if I get placed on hold for longer than 30 minutes, their system will drop the call automatically. This is getting ridiculous, first they insult me with a ridiculously low credit limit (less than 2% of my income, rest of my cards are 5-7x higher CL), and now I'm stuck in limbo wasting 6 hours of my time. Can anyone here give me a few pointers on what to do, besides cutting up my card and tell them to go screw themselves?

Yea, and in case anyone ever finds this thread in the future and runs into this problem, after the events in the OP, I ended up spending another 3 hours getting bounced around, till I landed at a specialist that knew which department can actually fix it. Different people in the same department are at varying levels of competence, so one guy might tell you he can't do anything, another will tell you it's another department's problem, and then when the full cycle circles back to another guy in the same department, he'll actually know what to do. Be sure to ask for the phone number for the department you are being redirected to, before you allow them to redirect you, since there is a 50/50 shot of getting randomly disconnected on the wait. Plus it makes it easier to try your luck for someone competent. You can call the specialists at 1-800-933-6262 to be redirected to the people at 1-800-601-3741 to add your SSN to your profile. I called in twice to that second number and the first time some guy that sounded like he was out of breath grumbled over the phone that he can't do anything like that. I hung up and called the number again and the second lady actually knew what to do. They kept telling me that it would update within 48 hours, but I've been checking everyday and today it finally went through after I called the card department wanting to rip someone's head off. They said they couldn't do anything but magically after the phone call I was able to register an online account a full month after I applied for the card. I'm going to look forward to this quality customer service and I'l pray to the old gods, the new gods, and even the Lord of Light that I don't have to call in again.

  • My mp3s are stuck in limbo

I am trying to avoid restoring my 5th Generation 60 gig iPod...but I fear the worst, here is the situation.
I took my iPod off of a dock after listening to it, went to the artists section to pick something else, and there was nothing there all of a sudden. I hooked it up to my iMac (powerPC G5), it says, "iTunes cannot read the contents of iPod, go to the summary tab...click restore..."
When I disconnected my iPod and access settings/about/ it shows no songs but that there is only 3 GB left available. This leads me to believe the data is still stored, but just not appropriately being read? Any advice? Can this be salvaged without a complete restore? please help

I probably didn't explain the problem clearly.
When I open an event I would like to see the collection of photos, in thumbnail version.  Since last night, the photos are in the large view - one photo at a time.  I have to scroll through them to find the photo I want.  This is the case in all of my events and albums.
When I go to the view tab and click on thumbnails, the options are unavailable - they are there, but are light grey and they aren't accessible when I click on them.
When I refered to my photos being stuck in the editing view, I should have said they are stuck in the large view, showing one photo at a time only.

  • Planning Application stuck in limbo

    Essbase/Planning 9.3.1.
When administering the application view in EPMA, I have 1 application that validates properly, but the "Deploy" option stays grayed out. (Long story, must be a broken link somewhere from oracle data backups and restores). I don't have the option to "Delete" the application either.
I did a "Duplicate", and the copy of it will Validate, Deploy, Delete, etc.
How can I rename these applications so the one that will deploy is the name that I need it to be?
Is it as simple as renaming the C_APPLICATIONA_NAME element in the DS_APPLICATION table?
    Any other ideas?
    TIA,

  • IPod Touch 2G, WinXP SP2, iPod stuck in limbo (can't get it to restore)

    Hi.
While trying to install the latest iPod Touch software update, error 1602 was displayed.
At first we tried to restore the iPod; no luck. Then exited iTunes and restarted the PC.
PC does not recognize the device, and cannot find the device driver, since the error popped up.
(Note: the PC account used for the download/install is NOT the Admin account.)
When attempting to go into restore mode on the iPod, the screen does blank out,
then shows the Apple logo, but this is followed by a picture of "Connect to
iTunes" message. Unfortunately, iTunes does not see that there's a device
    attached (nor does WindowsXP).
As stated in the Subject, we are on WinXP SP2. Apple suggests SP3 (didn't know
    that when we started).
    1) Is SP3 absolutely required? Can we install the update on the iPod without
    updating the PC?
    2) How do we break out of the "Connect to iTunes" screen on the iPod?
(Saw a posting for DFU mode, but didn't want to go down that path
    until absolutely necessary.)
    3) Suggestions on how to get WinXP SP2 to recognize that there is a
    device connected?
    4) Is iTunes 10.1.1 required for the iPod update and does 10.1.1 require
WinXP SP3? (I think we're one version before 10.1.1 on this PC.)
    Please advise.
    Many thanks.

  • Ipod Nano - Stuck in limbo, or gone for good?

A long, long time ago, in a time when the nano was first released, I bought one... Unfortunately, it quickly became useless as my music library expanded. So, I upgraded to an 80GB Video. Anywho, I decided to keep my nano, but since I wouldn't be using it, I put it in a box and put it away.
Recently, I dug up the old nano, just for kicks. Figured I'd attempt to power it on as a joke, was sure the battery would be dead. Didn't turn on. No big deal, I thought, it had been sitting for awhile. So, I plugged it in to my Mac mini. I didn't get any response on the mini to indicate that the nano was even hooked up, but I figured it was just cause the battery was so drained that it needed to charge up for a bit. So, I left it plugged in over night.
The next morning, I woke up, checked on the nano, still nothing. Tried the "Reset" method amongst several other techniques to get the nano working, and still nothing.
To sum up, I get absolutely 0 response from this nano. Nothing on the iPod when it's plugged in, nothing on the computer when it's plugged in, and the screen just stays in "off" mode. I've tried the standard things (Different computer, different USB port, etc.) but since my Video works fine on this set up, it really shouldn't be an issue.
So, can anyone tell me, what's up with my iPod? Is it dead? Or just really really asleep?
    Thanks.

The battery is probably dead and needs replacing. You can't leave an iPod battery for a long time without regular charging (even if not in use). The battery needs to be "exercised".
Lithium-ion batteries ( like the one in the iPod) need to be used. If you don’t use your iPod at all, it's recommended to complete a charge cycle at least once a month in order to keep it in working condition.

  • External drive stuck in limbo - no errors, data intact, still won't mount?

    Background story:
-I had an external enclosure with two drives (one Hitachi, one WD, both SATA) running seperately inside as storage. Things were good.
One day something went wrong, because I turned it on and weird clicking could be heard and the drives wouldn't mount. I tried them in another enclosure I had lying around (that was apparently borked too), panicked and brought the drives to a data recovery center.
The next day, the recovery center called me to let me know that they were able to read data off both drives and that scans showed no problems. I picked them up (and since I was already in Akihabara I bought the supplies needed to build a RAID5 bay that I've been planning for a while), got a new enclosure for them, went home.
I put both drives in the new enclosure and flipped the switch: the Hitatchi mounts just fine, but the WD doesn't mount. The drive and its partition show up in Disk Utility, but the partition name is grayed out. When I click the 'Mount' button, I get the following message:
    *Mount Failed*
The disk "Photos" could not be mounted.
Try running First Aid on the disk and then retry mounting.
I then click "Verify Disk" and the following comes up:
    *Verifying Volume "Photos"*
    Checking Journaled HFS Plus volume.
    Checking Extents Overflow file.
    Checking Catalog file.
    Checking multi-linked files.
    Checking Catalog hierarchy.
    Checking Extended Attributes file.
    Checking volume bitmap.
    Checking volume information.
+The volume Photos appears to be OK.+
The plot thickens! After some fiddling around I discover that I can make a disk image out of this unmounted partition and proceed to copy it into my shiny new 2.7TB RAID5 unit. A few hours later, I have a 600GB .dmg, which pretty much corresponds to how much data I had on that drive. When I try to mount it?
+The following disk images failed to mount: Photos.dmg (no mountable file systems)+
I'm really at a loss, here. I'd rather not pay a data center to back everything up and I suppose I could bring it all to the Apple Store, but again that seems like a waste of time. Is there any way I can get my computer to mount this drive?

    Josh
Sadly, I offer no help, only commiseration and another problem. I too had the big checkmark, for similar reasons. If you want, see my posts in iPod usage-"Restore won't restore." However, I did get past the checkmark eventually (I think by running update several more times, then saying no to the last one).
Now I have a new dilemma. It seems mounted. I see it in iTunes. But when I drag songs to it, they just disappear! Poof.
I just ran Disk Utility, which also "sees" it but and it tells me, the disk ipod cannot be unmounted. This is getting very old.

  • For Those Stuck In Limbo...

Was up to 85 hours when I tried calling (800) 331-0500. The rep there told me that 1) I haven't yet accepted the Terms and Conditions, 2) There was no SMS on my calling plan, and 3) that she didn't have my SIM card #.
1: She conferenced in their activation system and, after entering some information, I accepted the T&C.
2: I told her that I selected the $59.99 iPhone plan. She said "odd that it's not showing the texting here." She added the 200 to my plan, done.
3: I gave her the number (Settings -> General -> About).
When this was all done I powered the phone off for 20 minutes and, when it was done, my number was ported and I could finally use the phone!
My theory is that they had some sort of crash resulting in data loss the night of the launch, which would explain why they didn't have my SIM #. I've seen reports of people being told to "go to AT&T and get a new card" so this is consistent.
Anywho, call the AT&T number listed above. The people there are polite, smart, and will get your problems fixed. The -3701 number is only for activations -- if your phone is activated (you can use the device, just not the phone) but it's not talking to AT&T (NO SERVICE and "Waiting for AT&T" at boot), then this number is the way to go.
    -r

I mentioned this in another thread, but I'll say it here too...
    Here's my suggestion:
Call the activation number (the number you received in your email, if you got one) and ask them to cancel your activation.
Then reactivate using itunes, but DO NOT PORT your number. Just allow itunes to activate your phone with an assigned number. Obviously, choose the plan you want. For me, after I completed activation with an assigned number, the phone activated within 3 minutes.
After your phone is activated with your new number, call AT&T Customer Service (not the activation line) and ask to be transferred to the 'porting department'. Give them your new number and ask them to port your existing/old number.
They say this takes a few hours, but for me, it was almost immediate. I was with t-mobile.
    Good luck.

  • Flex 2-15 not starting, stuck in limbo

Yesterday after letting my flex 2 sleep after class, I tried starting it again after a few hours and it wouldn't start. The only thing I could see is a blank screen with the backlight and keyboard light on, the fans are also working. I tried searching the forum but couldn't find a solution and cannot remove the battery. I tried holding down power, using the pinhole button, nothing seems to work.
Is there a way to fix it and recover all of my stuff too? I have a lot of important school notes...

So I am guessing that when you connected it to external display, you were able to see the screen?

  • One of my apps is stuck in limbo

So my Clash of clans game has been crashing a lot lately. I decided to finally uninstall and reinstall it in the hopes that would fix it.
That's not the real problem though. When I tried to delete it, i got an option whether to keep or remove it and at that moment, I changed my mind and decided to keep it. But then the os decided to remove it anyway. So now not only is it gone, but I can't even reinstall it as the app store seems to think it's still there with me. Any help would be nice

Try opening it threw the App Store. Then open it normally. Try to put it on airplane mode(it won't load because cellular data is off) and then try rebooting it (Hold down the wake/sleep button and the home button for about 10 secs) when you see the black screen give it splice 5 secs to boot up if not then tip urn it on normally

  • Quicktime Pro order stuck in limbo

Ordered yesterday Quicktime Pro to edit some movies. I didn't receive the registration code. I tried the online chat help: they couldn't access my order. I called the 1-800 help number for the online store: I got told that there was perhaps a problem with my credit card. I checked my credit card: no problem....
Now what? They are giving me the run around: Any idea how I can get out of that (can't even cancel the order)....?
Cheers and many thanks for any idea,
    Eckhart

Now what? They are giving me the run around: Any idea how I can get out of that (can't even cancel the order)....?
Has your card actually been charged for the purchase?  If it hasn't, then you don't have to do anything. If it has, then you would normally have to wait for them to be able to find the record of your purchase before they can issue a refund to the credit card company. If, after a reasonable time, they cannot find any record of your purchase and refuse to voluntarily refund the purchase price, then contact your credit card company to dispute payment and force Apple to negotiate directly with the credit card company to settle the matter since the credit card company's records will show that Apple received payment for a purchase for which Apple has no record.

  • App on iPad stuck in limbo

    Hi
I recently had to restore my iPad after it was unresponsive. When I restored the apps, one of them was permanently greyed out. I could get it to wiggle, but I couldn't delete it. I can't find it on iTunes to remove it from that either. Now, every 30 seconds or so I get a message 'Unable to Download App'. The app is FIFA 13. Anybody know how I can remove this from my iPad. Driving me insane!

Try quitting the App Store app like I describe and then do a reset of your iPad. Double click the Home button to show the screen with running and recently used apps. Each app icon will have a sample page above it. Flick up on the page (not the app icon) and the page will fly away and the app icon will disappear. This quits that app. Then reset the iPad. Press and hold both the Home button and the Sleep/Wake button continuously until the Apple logo appears. Then release the button and let the device restart. You will not lose data doing this. It's like a computer reboot.

  • Ipod seems to be stuck in limbo

I've got a 4G ipod that when I attach it to my USB port it goes into "do not connect" and I can hear the hard drive cycling. My computer also makes a noise that it recognizes something is connected. Itunes doesn't start up and if I try to the computer just freezes up. When I unplug the ipod from my computer I get an "ok to disconnect" screen and it says its in disk mode. I've reset, restarted, reinstalled everything. I don't know what else to do and there are way too many threads to go through. Please help!

Also, I've gone into update while my ipod is connected and it says "plug in an ipod to update it"
