Studio Active Subwoofer

Hi,
Facing an issue when Mixing, Room unbalance frequency (Hi-Mid strong, Weak Low frequency).
Thinking of Add on an Active Studio Subwoofer. What's your suggestion? Or... any better idea?

* I've 2 studios to run my mix. The smaller size (near field 5" monitors) room, serve me quite balanced. In fact, the Bigger Size Room (8" Active Studio Monitors) facing the issue above.
* No matter where I seat at (sweet point or out of sweet point, even far away from Monitors) ,I still hurt by the strong Hi-Mid frequency. Yup, the Low End performed a little better when seating far a little from the sweet point.
* I don't really grab a tool to measure the frequency of the room.
* Mostly Mix with Contemporary Music, band type the most.

OSM Service Studio installation in eclipse - missing files in installpack

Hello,
we are trying to install the neccessary updates in eclipse according to the document "Oracle Communications Studio Version 3.0.0" to run OSM Service Studio.
however eclipse complain: "Service Studio for Order and Service Management Integration (1.0.0.v200805122103-b276) requires plug-in "com.mslv.studio.activation (3.0.0)", or compatible." when we try to install com.mslv.studio.provisioning.integration.feature_1.0.0.v200805122103-b276.jar from a local install site.
When I look i the documentation on page 20 I realise that the following modules are missing in the downloaded file with updates V13266-01.zip (provided from edelivery.oracle.com):
(1) Service Studio for Activation 3.0.0
(2) Service Studio for Activation SRT 3.0.0
(3) Service Studio for Inventory 1.0.1
Have somebody else had this problem and solved it?

Goal:
Where can one find the Service Creation Environment (a.k.a. Service Studio) files for Activation and Inventory?
The documentation states that these components are necessary:
(1) Service Studio for Activation
(2) Service Studio for Activation SRT
(3) Service Studio for Inventory
Solution:
Download the "Oracle Communications Service Creation Environment x.x Software and Documentation" package from each Media Pack on eDelivery.Oracle.com :
(Activation) Oracle Communications ASAP
(Inventory) Oracle Communications Unified Inventory Management
(Provisioning) Oracle Communications Order and Service Management
Search on Oracle Communications products.
Maybe this will help. However after choosing the Oracle Communications product line and platform as Sun Solaris(64-bit), it listing did not show the aforementioned package. You may as well try. Do let me know if you are able to download the package.

Measurement studio expired first day I install

Hi,
I download Measurement Studio 2009 for Visual Studio Evaluation yesterday. I installed it with Labview 2009 and DAQmx 9.2.1. My OS is XP sp3. I have a DAQ card DAQ-6024E. And I tried to output a analog signal using the card. So, I found out there is an example from NI after installation named "GenVoltageUpdate" in the folder \NI-DAQ\Examples\MStudioVC2008\Analog Out\Generate Voltage\. I used VS 2008 to try to run this program in debug mode. There was a box popped up "The Measurement studio evaluation has expired". I checked the Measurement Studio>> License, and it shown as the figure attached. None of them has expired yet.
I don't know why there is such message about expiration. I hope someone can help me.

Hi, I installed today (02-12-2011) the evaluation version of Measurement studio 2010 for Visual Studio 2008.
Checking the licence page from the Measuremt studio menu I get thet all the components I installed should expire on 13/03/2011.
The problem is that if I try to execute any sample code provided I get the following error:

I tried using the Measurement studio active-X License fixer. In the Licensed controls list there is "3D Graph control 8.0" but in the Elvaluation Licenses list and the Broken Licenses list the is no controls at all.

I think, you misunderstand the Microsoft update in question.
The update provides corrections to ATL header files which are used to build the ATL-based controls and components -- it updates Visual Studio installation so, that developers could rebuild their ATL-based components taking advantage of the updated code.
The code from the headers which are subject to the update in question is included in the binaries of the built ATL-based controls and components and not in the shared libraries (like ATL and MFC) that Microsoft ships.
Therefore, only by rebuilding (and re-shipping) the ATL-based controls and components can this update be accounted for.
Here, by ATL-based controls and components I mean Crystal ActiveX viewer and, possibly, RDC runtime -- obviously, it is up to Crystal Reports developers to review, whether the corrected functionality is used within their components.
I am not sure, which version of Visual Studio is used to build ActiveX viewer/RDC. Microsoft issued updates for several versions.

Active x controls library

Hi, im persevering with lookout as it works well, for me, however i would like more active x control gadgets to use in lookout version 6 , does anyone know if component works functions ok or is there any measurement studio active x legacy objects / controls available in the archives. thanks.

ActiveX was great in the simplicity it offered, but unfortunately Lookout does not support Methods which limits the options for them.
Would be nice to see .Net objects capability but I doubt we will get that before Lookout becomes EOL.

SQLs erver migration performance issue

We are performing migration from oracle to MSSQL server 2005 (Windows 2003/SAP 4.6D).Our target system configuration is like below:
->OS - Windows 2003 x64
->DB - MSSQL server 2005 SP4
->SAP - 4.6 D kernel
->CPU - 4 processors (2.67ghz each)
->RAM - 16 GB
->source system DB size - around 1 TB and package splitting was implemented.
While importing the export dump that came from source system, we are facing load performance issue's.
1) We have started 10 parallel processes and after import is started, CPU is getting 95% to 99% utilized and when we check SQL server studio-> Activity monitor we found below information:
-There were around 20 processes are in status sleeping
-Only one or two system processes are running with commands - INSERT,SELECT INTO commands ( column)
-At any point of time only two processes are running and CPU utilization is hitting high.
-Import is very slow and its taking 35 hours to complete
We have followed few SAP notes(1054852,1241751 e.tc..) and below are the settings for SQL server:
-Minimum server memory - 5 GB
- Maximum server memory - 5 GB
- index creation memory - 0
- Maximum memory per query - 1024 kb
- Maximum degree of parellelism - 1
- Parallellism locks - 0
- Cost threshold of parellism - 5
- Enabled trace flags - 610,620,1117,1211,3917
- Windows environment variable BCP_BATCH_SIZE = 10000
- SQL log file size - 100 GB
- tempdb size - 20 GB
2) When we tried another test import after tuning parameters (Maximum degree of parellelism to 3) and increasing r3load parallel processes to 20, we found of inserts
are overflowing in process list and blocking other waiting processes and putting them in suspended mode.CPU utilization is at 80%
Are there any SQL server parameters need to be tuned to fix this import load time issue in both scenarios? Are there any best practises for migrating to SQL server?

What processes is using the CPU? The SQL Server itself or others? (see task manager)

For the time of the migration itself I'd give the database more memory (10 GB or more) and reconfigure later when the import is done.
What parameters do you use for the R3load? I'd recommend
-loadprocedure fast -merge_bck -c 10000
and also set
BCP_LOB=1 in the environment.

Got the Soundblaster Zx now, my good old X-FI went out of order..
The new Control-tool is horrible.. I cant find Settings for my Creative Cambridge Soundworks 2.1 Speakers.. I always hear cracking sounds and besides it sounds rather dull.. where are my surround Settings, I mean.. hall/reverb..
with set to stero direct I got less cracking.. with 5.1 removing rear Speakers I do not got I got least cracking.. but I cant really turn up the volume.. bass Settings are not available.. I connected the Speakers with a 3,5mm/3,5mm on the front Speaker jack at the soundcard.. as you should do, if you only got 2.0 or 2.1.. it seems the soundcard gives too much bass on the Speakers.. with my x-fi everything was fine.. nothing to Change at Settings.. connect.. fine.. my active subwoofer takes the bass, and sends what necessary to the Desk Speaker.. it doesnt work if you Change any Settings like "fullrange" Speakers in the Settings.. often they are not available like in "Stereo direct" .. it doesnt Change anything when u disable fullrange, and surround Speaker Option not available, and bass crossover also not available.. in Stereo it is even worse.. much to much bass cracking even below 20-volume..

21" Imac Fan Loud and Random

Hi there,
After trawling these forums and others, my problem has driven me to the point where I thought id post my own thread on here.
I have had my 21" Imac for about 5 or 6 months. Up until about a month ago it has worked perfectly, until one day, whilst Idle, a fan inside kicked in randomly. Ill detail the circumstances and information here:
Fan, which is blowing air out of the top slit on the left hand side of the imac has tendancy to turn on randomly
When this happens it is VERY loud (for a computer fan)
When this happens it continues until I put the imac to sleep, or shutdown/restart, which buys me a bit of time
I have checked temprature readings and highest at these times have been about 60-70 deg celcius at the GPU, nothing ever higher than that
Ambient temp never been more than about 25/26.
This happens whether idle, or if im using a relatively heavy application all the same. Most of the time when it kicks in ive checked the CPU usage, which has been very low (10% or so) with just a few chrome tabs open.
I have tried reseting the SMC/SMU many times (switching off, unplug for over 15 secs, switch on) (and method where you hold power button for 5 secs before you plug it back in) The fact that this has not worked is very frustrating as most of the other problems on the forums seem to be resolved by this.
I have reset the PRAM twice.
I ran the imac hardware diagnostics (hold D at startup) last night, one quick test and one extended test, showed no problems.
The funny thing is that i experienced the same problem during the test. I am sure it was not part of the test as it continued well after the duration of it.
This problem has really started to get on my nerves now, as the Imac is a core part of Sound engineering and music production related work and study - as you can imagine the noise is a real bane of this.
Any help will be greatly appreciated guys, cheers.

I feel your pain mate. However, having said that, here is the situation since my last post-
The problem persisted all the way up to early september when i left home for uni.
Since, it hasnt reoccured once. There are two reasons I can think of for this:
A) packaging up the imac and moving it a few hundred miles in the car may have knocked something (e.g. A loose sensor connection) back into place. I can imagine that this would therefore mean the problem may appear in the future, when relocated again.
B) i have a basement room at uni which provides a very stable, relatively cold temptature (thank god with no damp, an ideal hideout) at home the room used to get ALOT hotter (thick carpet, and more heat from larger studio monitors/subwoofer etc) worth saying though this would still happen when cold at home. Maybe it is environment related?
Maybe also worth mentioning my old laptop always used to completely crash out on the basis of the graphics card overheating whilst at home, but ever few weeks where i would live elsewhere for a while it would always be fine. Very odd.
Thats probably the most i can suggest, and do let me know if you find a solution or supernatural fix to this problem. This drove me bloody nuts for ages and no forum threads on the net directly tackled this particular circumstance as far as i am aware.
Im sure anybody else in our boots would much appreciate seeing this thread rather than be corroded by the problem for so long whilst taking thier kit to the apple store isnt convenient.

Difference between refresh of Report in Active Viewer and Active Studio BAM

We use the Oracle SOA Suite with BAM (on Linux) 10.3.2.0.
I have 2 questions:
1. We have made a report with several items and in Active Studio --> Select Report --> Edit mode --> I see the correct values for my report. When I open my report in Active Viewer I see data from yesterday. The report is not being refreshed. How can I change this, what is causing this difference between Active Viewer and Active Studio in Edit mode??
2. One of my items in my report always gives the message: opening (only in Active Viewer, in Active Studio/edit mode I can see the correct data).

Is your popup blocker turned off? I can only imaging that the popup blocker may be keeping the Live Data window from appearing and updating the dashboard. Active Studio doesn't do a Live update, but an update on report load.

How to trigger the start of activity in BPM Studio 10.3

I am new to BPM Studio 10.3.1.
I have configured two External Resources
1)J2EE Application Server: Giving details of the application server on which my JMS Queue resides
2)JMS Messaging Service: Giving details of the JMS Queue
I want to trigger the start of BPM process/ activity execution when a message arrives on the configured JMS Queue from an external system.
How will I be able to listen to that queue?
Similarly, I would also like to know the steps to post a message to JMS through the activity in BPM Studio.
Is there any document available that helps in configuring the External Resources other than the Studio Reference guide and User guide.
Can anyone please help on this?

"The root activity type is invalid" while importing a xoml generated by sharepoint designer in visual studio

I am facing a problem with Visual Studio. Following what I did:
Copy and modify a workflow in sharepoint designer 2013
Import the generated files (xoml, rules, config) in a Visual Studio 2012 module
Build
I cannot build nor package the solution, getting the "The root activity type is invalid" error.
I read a lot of forum but I didn't figure out how to solve the issue.
Any help is really appreciated.

According to your description, my understanding is that you got an error when you imported SharePoint Designer reusable workflow into Visual Studio 2012.
Please check your process per the article below, compare the result.

How to determine which CDockablePane in a group is currently active in Visual Studio 2013

I understand that to activate a pane, I can do the following:
dockablePane->ShowPane(TRUE, FALSE, TRUE);
But, in a group of panes, how can I tell which pane is currently active?
For instance, let's say there are 3 groups of panes on the screen. The first group contains three tabs captioned "A", "B", and "C". The second group contains "D", "E", and "F" and the
third group contains "G", "H", and "I".
How would I determine the active pane within each group? (As an example for reference, within Visual Studio in the left pane group, I can currently see the contents of "Solution Explorer" while "Class View", "Property M...",
"Resource Vi..." and "Team Explo..." are within the same group but not active. In the bottom group, I can see the contents of "Output" while "Find Results 1" and "Find Results 2" are present but not active".
In the right group, I can see "MySource.cpp" while "MySource.h" is present but not active. So, I need to know how to request from each pane whether they are the current tab within their container or not.

This scenerio in your example, we don't need to know the current tab within which tab group. Actually I don't understand why do you need to know that? If you are using
AFX_DOCK_TYPE::DT_SMART model dock pane, the dock pane should be implemented in a internal MFC
CSmartDockingManager
class and it is not intended to be used directly from your code. . You could read the source code of this class at VS installed path-> VC->altmfc->src->mfc->afxsmartdockingmanage.cpp
For the dock pane layout in VS interface, I remember there is a sample named Visual Studio Demo sample in Visual C++ 2008 Feature Pack. You can download it at here.

I just installed Oracle BAM. I entered in WEB-interface and selected Active Studio.
Then I pressed "Create a New report" Button. I've had the following message report:

Looks like one of the system dataobjects wasn't properly loaded.
I believe you have some/most tables for the Active Data Cache (populated during install) because it appears you are able to start the Oracle BAM Active Data Cache service and get to the Start Page.
Here's the xml for the system dataobject that appears to be missing.
Note: I assume you have version 10.1.2.1, the latest version of BAM.

Then import using DOS running this command:

IF you have any missing system dataobjects, I would suggest drop the Oracle user account used to install BAM so you would delete all it's tables. Then recreate the same user account with resource and connect privileges. Then run cacheinit.exe from your OracleBAM\BAM directory. This will recreate the entire ADC for you.

Composite Studio - How to get Active Server Requests through Email

Currently in my application, we have an issue with number of Active connections. When we view Composite Studio -> Manager -> Requests -> Active Server Requests, it shows the number of active requests at that particular moment.
Is it possible to set a trigger or receive an email for the above if the number of Active Requests goes > some limit to alert us. Due to the issues with downstream applications, Composite was not able to close the connections and it is creating issues for future requests.

You need to load the Module before you start using it .....in PowerShell v2 (v3 auto loads it for you).
I assume you are just starting with the AD Administration with PowerShell.
