Submission Receipts

We just added a new feature to the service today.... Submission Receipts. As you'll see on the forum this is one of the more frequently requested features.
You now have the ability to automatically send a form filler an email receipt after they have filled out and successfully submitted the HTML form. You pick which field in the form contains the email address to send the receipt and then customize the reply-to, subject and body of the email message. Optionally you can include the data that was submitted by the form filler. The feature can be found on the Options tab:
Benefits:
Provides confirmation to the form filler that they entered their data correctly and that their response was successfully received by the service
Is proof for the form filler that they actually filled out the form and what data they entered
Allows the form filler to print out or archive their form submission
Allows you to communicate additional information to the form filler (e.g. conference location, contact phone number, salesman will be following up with you)
Example Use Cases:
Sales Lead Form – Customer submits their sales lead form, receives an email receipt confirming that their info was received and that a salesperson will be contacting them in the next day.
Workshop Registration – Registrant fills out form, receive the email receipt, prints it out and uses it to get into the workshop.
Grant Application – Applicant fills out the application, receive the email receipt and is told that their application will be processed in 2-3 weeks and to reply back to the email if they have any questions.

This could help, if the static text were defined according to the route (page sequence) the user took through the form.
Putting a static text box (hidden) for each possible option through the form, with different text for each option, would allow the email to look unique for each option.

Non-red paints are washable, using ordinary soap and water.
Is there some fundamental limitation in using form field values in the text of later text blocks in the form, or in the e-mail formatting?
I have seen in some other tools (Footprints by Numara, for example), that %%FIELD_NAME%% is used when formatting a response.
This could be very flexible when formatting the Confirmation Message, the Submission Receipt, the Notification E-mail, or in the form itself.

    If i use the name my account is in, emails for the submission receipts are send out with my email/name as I set it up.
    We have a project we are woking on and when registrants get their submission receipt, I want them to know right away, the email is from the project. If I use the email address we created for the project, the submission receipt email is sent from
    Adobe FormsCentral <[email protected]> - which is not even the email I selected.
    When I select the proper email, it won't let me update the name box either, it is greyed out.
    How do I get around this?

    When you select your project email address in the "From:" drop-down, do you see a warning icon in the Options tab navigation list? If so, when you move your mouse over the icon you should see something like this:
    Once you create an account and/or sign into FormsCentral with the project email address and follow the email verification process, that address will be used for the submission receipts.

    Is it possible to use logic rules to manage email submission receipts?
    I have one form and based on the user's selection I want to manage which email submission receipt gets sent to that specific user.
    Is this at all possible?
    Please ask for clarification if I am not making sense.

    It should be no problem since the Audio Kontrol 1 is Core Audio compatible. This has nothing to do with VST's.

  • Attachments with email submission receipt?

    Based on response to check boxes, I would like to send an attachment with email submission receipt. The attached file would be condistional. For example, with response A, the submitter would get the attachment docA.pdf, with response B, the submitter would get the attachment docB.pdf, etc.
    Is this possible? Thank you.

    Sorry this is not possible. We don not support sending attachments with the email receipts. Also, you can't even have conditional email body message.

  • Email submission receipt ... "from" address

    After selecting my email address as the "From" address for Email Submission Receipts, the actual message displays my name, but [email protected] is shown as the sender's address.  Why?

    Sorry this is a new behavior to avoid email receipts from being targeted as SPAM. If people reply to the receipt it should still be sent to you.

  • Email Submission Receipt IS not Being Sent

    Hello,
    've been using form cetral for years and today, my people who fill out our required company forms are not receiving a submission receipt. Nothing has been changed on our account and this has worked flawlessly for years. Today, not submission receipts are going out and all email address to my people have been confirmed as corectly being entered.
    Anyone who can help would be appreciated.

    Can you please send me some of the email addresses of your fillers who didn't get their email receipt. At time frame of when they submitted the data would also help to figure out the issue. Also can you please send me the link of your fillable form. Please send this information to [email protected]
    Can you confirm that you did receive the data but only the receipt didn't get received?
    Do you have email notification turned on too? If so, did you receive the notifications?

    People who are submitting the forms are not receiving the email submission receipt. How do I fix this?

  • Email Submission Receipts Not Being Sent When Collect Payments is Enabled

    I am working on a registration form and have included the option to have an email submission receipt sent to the registrant. I tested the form and sucessfully received an email confirmation. When I enabled payments via paypal and tested the form again, I didn't receive the email submission reciept. I've tried with several different email addresses (gmail and others) and don't receive anything. I've checked spam folders and nothing is there either.

    There is a known issue with notifications for payment forms when "Include submitted data" is not selected on the Email Notifications panel.  The fix for this issue will be included in an upcoming release.  In the meantime, you can work around the issue by checking the "Include submitted data" box.
    Also, please note there is a second issue in that notifications are not sent when the user simply closes the browser window after being redirected to PayPal, instead of either completing or canceling the transaction.  There is currently no workaround for the second issue so, unfortunately, some notifications may still be dropped even if "Include submitted data" is checked.

    Can FormsCentral send submission receipts to more than one email address?  I know it can send the notifications to more than one, but what about the submission receipts?

  • In forms central I can't get an additional "from"email to verify. (options tab-submission receipts)

    I get the email, the follow the link, and the new email is listed as a co-author. But still no luck, it keeps coming from forms central. Please help.

    I misinterpreted your post.  Sorry about that.
    Please confirm if this what happened to you,
    1. You are using Submission Receipts in Options tab
    2. You add another email address in the "from" address
    3.  Something is wrong with the email verification process for that new email address

    I am using Adobe Send. When I send a PDF to a customer how can I get a email back that shows me that they have opened the file. I would get that when using Adobe SendNow.

       Yes it Works!! Thank You so much for your help! Now if I could ask you to address getting me a receipt when my customers open the files when sent from Outlook 2013. It might not seem that important but it really is. See I communicate a lot with my customers back and forth using emails and I have to make many revisions at times, it is so necessary to send and track files that I send my customers and be able to see and respond to emails my customers send to me. It eliminates the possibility of not knowing if they have received what I have sent to them. I also need to be able to send them to their phone! It works on the IPad but you can only view the PDF’s on the phone it does not give you access to the tab to download the PDFs to your phone like we use to be able to do.

  • Can a submission receipt be set up to send to a file location on server instead of an email address?

    In an effort to control email size, and to coincide with our workflow processes, i was wondering if i could send the email receipts to a file location instead of an email address?

    FormsCentral notifications requires an email address that is has an active FormsCentral account so a file location woudl not work in the setup process.

  • Why are submitters not getting a submission receipt?

    I've ticked the box and it reflects that a receipt should be sent to the email address completed in the form.  But no submitters are receiving a confirmation/receipt.

    I'll be happy to help you with this issue. I've looked into our email logs and I've determined the following:
    Our systems have attempted to send 24 emails to @ccf.org addresses in the last 7 days
    17 of these appear to have been successful, but 7 have bounced
    Of the 7 that bounced, one was because the server on your end didn't recognize the "to" address. All of the rest (6) appear to be the server on your end rejecting the mails with code 504. The full message from our logs for one such bounce (with private information hidden by xxx) is:
    postfix/smtp[18649]: AF6B42287E0: to=<[email protected]>, relay=outbounds6.obsmtp.com[64.18.5.12]:25, conn_use=3, delay=1, delays=0.05/0/0.07/0.9,
    dsn=5.0.0, status=bounced (host outbounds6.obsmtp.com[64.18.5.12] said: 504 - on relay of: MAIL FROM:<[email protected]>

    These 6 rejected emails are all coming from one particular email address. For your privacy I won't reveal the address here, but you can email me at [email protected] for more information.
    I suspect the 504 is coming from the mail server on your end, and I actually have an educated guess as to what might be going on. I suspect that your mail server doesn't like emails that originate outside of your domain if they report that they're coming from an address inside your domain. If that's the case, perhaps you could solve this by whitelisting mailer.acrobat.com?

    Yes, you can. Obviously, the iPod Touch will only be able to access the email account when connected to a Wi-Fi network.

    I have a PDF form created via Livecycle that does a HTTP submit to the webserver. The server returns a HTML 'submission receipt' page which is either opened in Acrobat or the user's web browser.
    Previously this process worked fine when submitting from adobe reader - the html receipt file would always automatically open OK in the user's browser. However, with newer versions of Reader (11.0.0+) I now get this error and no attempt to open the user's web browser:
    An error occurred during the submit process. Cannot process content of type text/html
    I realise why I get the error - Adobe reader can't display HTML files.
    What I don't understand is why it doesn't open the html file in the user's browser like it has been doing for years.
    Does anyone have any idea how I can fix this (without changing the response content type to PDF/FDF)?

    I had the same issue as you and we used FDF status, then eventually went with returning an XDP  that filled out a receipt section of the form.
