Suggested patches on top on OMS 12.1.0.3

Hi,
I colleague of mine suggested applying the following 3 patches on top of 12.1.0.3
-Oracle JAVA SE home - see http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/topics/security/javacpujun2013-1899847.html
-Base Platform Fusion Middleware home PSU 12.1.1.0.6 Patch 17071664
-Oracle Database Management Plug-in home Unix: BP Patch 17366505
I am hoping to get some comments from the experts as to whether or not these are really required.
Thanks
Steve.

Hi Steve,
The note suggests recommended patches for different versions of OEM. PSU 4 on top of 12.1.0.2 is the latest PSU as of now.
As per my knowledge there no PSU released for 12.1.0.3. The note will be updated when PSU for 12.1.0.3 OMS will be released.
However, you can review the Bundle Patch information in below notes once which should meet your requirement,
Enterprise Manager 12.1.0.3 Bundle Patch Master Note (Doc ID 1572022.1)
Enterprise Manager Base Platform Management Agent 12cR3 Bundle Patch Bug List (Doc ID 1580355.1)
I hope this helps.

    Hi Mugunthan,
Thanks for the details regarding the isetup in R12.1.2 , currently we are in R12.1.2 and planning to use this for our functional setup migrations.
How difficult to setup this module to use ? What are the products it is supporting in Oracle EBS ? We are doing the implementation in all the manufaturing modules.
can you please provide the basic details to start with ?
I have gone through the article given by you "List of Manual Setup required for iSetup to work" , Is it still required in r12.1.2 ?
    Please advice.

  • Any suggested patches for CF9 communicating with SHA2

Hi. We are still running CF9 and have noticed that HTTPS calls to web services using the newer SHA2 algorithm fail. It appears that CF9 cannot support SHA2. Does anyone have a suggested patch for this issue. Obviously we need to upgrade to CF11, but that will take a couple weeks. Looking for an immediate work-around. We have two installations of CF9 - one enterprise and one standard edition. Any ideas?

  • Applying Adobe Reader 8.1.2 Security Patch on top of Adobe Pro 7.x

    Hi,
Our firm has a number of users running Adobe Standard and Professional 7.x. These users also have Adobe Reader 8 installed simultaneously as well.
According to the Adobe security bulletin below, the security patch for Adobe Standard and Professional 7.x will not be released until May 2008:
    http://www.adobe.com/support/security/advisories/apsa08-01.html
Question: if we deployed Adobe Reader 8.1.2 (which addresses the same security vulnerabilities mentioned in the above link) on top of Adobe Standard and Professional 7.x, will the vulnerability be fixed? The businesses will not be upgrading to Adobe Standard / Professional 8.1.2.
    Thank you,
    Roland Thomas

Not to make excuses or anything but, it's more than a security patch.

  • Suggestion :  Have the "Top Users in Forum" report based on 30 days

Currently, the "Top Users in Forum" listing is based on cumulative points. This means that we will never see "rising stars !".
If the list were to report based on, say, points earned in the past 30 days, we'd at least be able to note some "rising stars !"

Hemant K ChitaleCan Jive handle the extra processing required to maintain both overall points for the persons status AND points in the last 30 days for the Top Users lists, per forum? Jeez, it can hardly handle serving the threads, don't give it more work to do. If we want anything we want the little dotty things back, at least they were useful, unlike the points system.

  • Oracle 9.2.0.8 patch installation problem on top of 9.2.0.4 installation

I'm trying to install the 9.2.0.8 patch on top of my 9.2.0.4 Oracle installation on Fedora 8 OS and I'm not able to get the installer going. After I get the first screen, it displays for the Oracle_HOME screen and when I press next here, I get the following error:
    java: xcb_xlib.c:50: xcb_xlib_unlock: Assertion `c->xlib.lock' failed.

  • JUL09 CPU Patch for EMREP DB.

    All,
I recently installed 10gR5 Grid Control, and the database that comes bundled with the installation is Oracle Database 10g 10.1.0.5.0.
Well the JUL09 CPU Patch for this database was released, but the patch is in extended support. What does the community recommend as a best practice in this case? Upgrade the database to Oracle Database 10g 10.2.0.4.0?
Any suggestions would be fantastic. Thanks!

Yes that is what I did and it worked great.
Now when I upgraded the 10.1.0.5 repository for another server's Application Server and deinstalled the old version of the database from the infrastructure home, it could not update the inventory information correctly and now I always have a 10.1.0.5 entry in the console's main page showing zero installations. Anybody know of a workaround?
Also do not apply the cpujul2009 (Patch 8537032) to the OMS home. It screws up the job system. I tried it twice with the same results.

  • Slipstreaming Patches into Oracle Apps

    Hi All
For many patches like family packs, rollup patches etc, we can install these patches after the installation of the EBS. But is it possible to integrate these patches into the installation software so that as soon as the EBS is installed there is no need for seperately installing these patch files.(Just as we can slipstream the service packs in Windows OS).
    Regards
    Rahman

    Hi Rahman,
The EBS is a huge stack of cross-platform software, and every patch has dependencies, so it is very tough (or impossible) for Oracle to take every patch and regression it back to the base release. Also, I've just installed Windows XP SP2 and the number of post-install updates was huge ... so I fail to see your point with regards to Windows.
If the reason you are asking the question is that you are responsible for delivering multiple installs of EBS to a single O/S, then I'd have a couple of possible suggestions:
    1. Apply the patches to one instance to create a "golden" image and use a cloning procedure to roll it out wherever you need to install it, rather than reinstall.
    2. Create a single admrgpch of all the patches on top of your install ... and apply that after doing your install, but this wouldn't account for tech stack upgrade, so option 1 is better.
    3. Wait for the next maintenance pack!
PS. Oracle has come along way, the first "rapid" install was called 1 hour install. Yeah Right! Which delivered a preconfigured and installed database was a huge leap forward. Another nice progression that I haven't seen yet which I've mentioned in passing on my blog is for Oracle to provide a virtual appliance - which could possibly extend to what you're implying here but would be particularly useful for demo systems.

  • Why Using Top Link is best in DB Adapter?

    Hi All,
Can any one suggest , Why Using Top Link (Build-in Insert, Select etc. operation) is best in DB Adapter over using custom query?
    Thanks

    Hi Vikky,
for insert/select it depends on what kind of user you are. TopLink lets you browse and click on a tables and have everything generated for you. If you are more a DBA or show me the SQL type then you can just type SQL directly.
Some advantages of TopLink would be:
-The range of SQL generated by TopLink is limited, but if you hard code complex SQL into your service you need to maintain it.
-TopLink can generate at runtime the correct SQL for a given database, making switching from say DB2 to Oracle easy.
-The merge operation will compare the input XML to the columns on the database and update only what has changed. It can also do a sparse merge. If only 4 columns in the XML were set, only those 4 columns in the database will be updated.
-For inbound polling the strategy used (LogicalDelete, Sequencing Table, etc) is a configuration property and then at runtime multiple SQL statements are generated. The SQL also takes advantage of advanced syntax like the Oracle-only FOR UPDATE SKIP LOCKED, writing it all yourself may be tedious and error prone.
-The main benefit of TopLink is when you go beyond thinking about a single table. If you import multiple related tables at once, TopLink will generate the SQL to select from and maintain multiple tables, establish a commit order, and generate a hierarchical XSD. With custom SQL the matching XSD is always flat. I.e. if you just need to insert an emp you could get away with custom SQL. If you need to insert a dept and emps, I would use TopLink.
-This is also when the intermediary abstraction of an object/table makes more sense, as you only need to import a complex relational schema once, then generate inserts, selects, etc.
So I hope that helps. They are each equally viable and can do something that the other can't. Where you see an overlap I would go with personal preference.
    Thanks
    Steve

  • Trying to find-out if any PSU/patches present in the Oracle_Home

    Hi Experts,
I have a Oracle_Home copied from a different server and using which , we have created a DB and it is being used for Agile applications.
But , initially , after the DB creation , we have not configure the inventory for the Oracle_Home.
And today , when we recreated the inventory, It completed successfully. And below is the output of it.
But , we are just confused why the interim patch/PSU details are not displayed.
-> Is that because , there are no interim patches/PSU installed in the Source Oracle_HOme ??
-> Or , is that when oracle_Home clone is done , it doesn't display those details ??
Note : The source environment from where we copied the oracle_Home is copied is not existing now. So, we don't have a chance to compare.

    Sorry, it was my mistake.
Actually while upgradation to 10.2.3.2, my ORACLE_HOME was not set to AV Agent HOME (instead it was set for AV Server HOME). That is why at the end script was unable to run from respective HOME.
Conclusion: Make sure to set ORACLE_HOME to AV Agent HOME before applying to 10.2.3.2 patchset to AV Agent. (also Valid for all Oracle Patchset Installation)
thanks for your support and reply.
