Support contract for DS5.2

Hi,
We are migrating from DS5.1 to 5.2 . When I have checked with SUN for getting support contract for DS5.2, they informed that they already announced EOL for 5.2 and suggested me to go with higher version.
If I move to 6.X versions, can you pls tell me that are there any known bugs in 6.X or can I directly migrate from 5.1 to 6.X
regards,
Sri

While it is true that DSEE 6.2 is out and does provide many improvements with regards to the 5.2 family, you can still buy licenses for Directory Server Enterprise Edition 5.2 (and at least for another 4 to 6 months).
Note that you can no longer but licenses for Directory Server 5.2 itself. The license (for the same price) is for DSEE which now includes Directory Server, Directory Proxy Server and much more.
Regards,
Ludovic.

  • Software Support Contract and Licensing

I've got the following licenses installed.
    LMS4.0-750 devices.
If I now buy a software support contract for the above will that also entitle me to a free upgrade to LMS 4.1-750 or will I still need to buy a upgrade license.

A software support contract will entitle you to technical support via the TAC. Included in that support is the right upgrade between minor releases (e.g. 4.0 to 4.1 to 4.2 etc.). The upgrade process requires you contact the TAC to have a new license file issued for you. It is a permanent license for that version and will not have any additional cost.

  • Support Contract wref to sales order-how to get serial number

    Hi Experts,
    Below is the scenario
Step 1:I sell product[supplied by thirdparty] in sales order  123456
    Material number     Description      Qty
    material-0001         Printer             2
Step 2:While purchase it from 3rd party it will be having serial number which can be entered manually while doing goods receipt. Eg:
Material number        Description    Qty      Serial number
    Material-001              Printer           1         PS-10001
    Material-001              Printer           1         PS-10002
Step 3: Now I create a support contract with reference to the sales order 123456 for the sold printers. Here I need to capture the serial numbers of both printers, so that when customer complaints, the item can be identified.
How can we achieve this in the contract?
    Waiting for a quick reply
    Thanks
    Banu

    Hi Banu,
    1. Create a Contract with Service product.
    a. Create a Service material in MM01, with material type DIEN
    b. Create a General Task list master (Tcode - IA05).
    c. Attach this Task list with the Service material using OISD Tcode (set the reference object Equipment - if your equipment and serial number are same) -->(Service Product)
2.Attach the Technical objects (Equipment Number or Material number + Serial Number) to the line item service product.Maintain the contract data like price, start and end date.
    3. Create a Sales order VA01, with reference to the Contract document
    a. Configure this sales document type, material type to determine the Item category TAD
    b. Let this Item category has the Requirement type SERA (maintain Service order type in requirement class(230 as default)
    4. System will ask you the equipment number to create a Service order.
    5. Enter the Equipment number,
System will ask you to select the Operations from the task list that has been attached with the Service product in step 1.c
    6. Save the sales order and open in Change mode.
    7. In Scheduled lines tab, you can find a "Service order button". Click on the button, will show the service order for the given Equipment number in display mode.
You can edit the Service order IW32, and confirm the operations and issue materials to capture the actual cost and settle to the Sales order.
    Hope this would help.

  • Personal support license for Oracle.

I am a developer for a company that spends over one million dollars a year on Oracle licenses. I have ordered the free DVD's for Oracle Linux and I am planning to install it on My personal computer at home. I am then going to install 32bit Oracle 11 for Linux so that I can evaluate the new database. I wanted to purchase a Linux support license for my one home computer so that I would have access to web support and Linux patches. This computer is owned by me, not the company. When I attempted to go into oracle store, I was unable to purchase the $99.99 support license until I registered. Unfortunately, you must supply a company name and address to register in oracle store to purchase the Linux support license. I do not want to put the support contract under my company, it is MY computer. Since I could not find any way to register as an individual, I called the toll free number to ask the sales department. I was explaining my problem and as soon as I said a personal license for one installation of Oracle Linux, the sales person hung up on me. They did not say anything, just hung up. I am upset and do not feel that this behavior is acceptable if oracle is going to be selling Linux support.
Now the question. Does anyone know how to register for Linux support as an individual?

    Beilstwh,
Many customers have purchased a Network support for personal use. If you purchase via the online store, you can use your own name as the company name.

  • Does SRM SUS support contract negotiation from supplier point of view?

    Dear experts,
could you please share your view on whether SRM sus support contract handling? can a supplier monitor contract fulfillment or potential expiry of a contract from SRM SUS side? can supplier take part in contract re negotiation from SUS side?
As far as I know, SRM 7.01 supports scheduling agreement release in SRM SUS.
Your thoughts will be highly appreciated.
    Thanks and regards,
    Ranjan

    Dear Sam,
Thanks for the reply. Then, can we enable our suppliers to monitor contract from Supplier Portal in the SRM server itself like the way Suppliers can participate in the bidding in the SRM server? Any thoughts or input will be highly appreciated as my client wants to enable suppliers to monitor expiry of the contracts from their side.
    Thanks and regards,

  • Oracle Support Contract

I wonder how other users feel about transition of support from Primavera to Oracle.
Here is some thought I have on it, I hope some of you can help me understand why it is as it is.
    Contract*
We have huge problem with signing/renewing Support Contract. We've asked Oracle for quotation end of October and still did not receive any price offer. I've email to at least 7 Oracle employees, tried to escalate it but still - there is no offer in my inbox.
Perhaps our licenses setup is a bit strange for Oracle, but for Primavera it was fine - I have CM licenses in several offices divided into groups, in some offices I don’t need to update to CM13 (which is far too buggy to install it in offices which do not have in-house support). Also for other reasons I simply do not want to keep maintenance contract for all licenses.
Oracle uses License Sets that MUST contain all licenses of the same product and they want me to buy maintenance for all licenses, no matter if I use support for them or not.
Looks like they want to protect themselves from companies who will buy maintenance for one license and use it for 100 licenses? Well then why with CM13 they skipped concurrent users limit hardcoded in the application?
Well I don’t want to trash licenses of xx K $ worth! Since Primavera had it set up like that, why Oracle seats in and changes the rules without my knowledge and permit?
    My Oracle Support*
I have feeling that there is less support now. SR's don’t get updated as often, information about updates of SR is giving wrong info. Email notification is not working in my case. SR history for some reason contains spam notifications of updating SR...
I miss the chat feature form POINT - initiate chat and get response the same hour...
After updating a SR there is some kind of confirmation msg that gets stuck under the window, very often I cannot update or read SRs due to numerous "network/IO/communication" errors.
I'm sorry but besides having a BUG list (finally!) i find My Oracle Support a well-dressed downgrade from POINT.
In general this post turned out pretty negative, which was not the intention. Hope some of you will post positive comments on Oracle Support.

    Hi people,
Well it looks like we all have problems. Although I can log into My Support, I cannot create new SRs. After 3 weeks of trying to get Oracle to do something about this they tell me it because thay don't have me registered on a valid Support Identifier, despite oracle giving me the number. My suspition is that somehow they have not updated the support contracts.
Anyhow, the result is that I con't get decent resolutions to my problems implementing CM version 13. As I'm downunder in New Zealand and am one of only 2 companies running CM we have little or no support here. I currently get most of my supprt through this forum.
I have started to look for alternative solutions as I am sick and tired of the lack of support.
    Regards
    Rudi

  • SRM 7.0 Central Contract-For Centralized Purchasing Scenario

    Hello Experts
Is it possible to set up a corporate (read Centralized) Purchasing strategy, where in One Central purchasing organization creates and manages Central contracts for various Plants assigned to different company codes using SRM 7.0 with ECC Backend?
Tried to set this scenario up by assigning Purchase organization directly to Plants (in ECC) but the Contracts were failing during replication in ECC.
Any inputs on this are appreciated.
    Thanks
    Raman.
Note: Contracts went through successfully in ECC after assigning the Purchasing organization to Company code.

    Hi,
    Please check this.
    SPRO -> Enterprise structure -> Assignment ->
Logistics - General -> Assign Plant to company code.
    Assign plant to company code
In the IMG activity "Assignment Plant - Company Code" you assign each plant to a company code.
A plant can only belong to one company code.
    Note
Complete functionality of the system can only be ensured if the plants assigned to a company code are only those situated in the same country as the company code.
It is therefore recommended that you also create a company code for each country in which a plant is situated.
    Examples
Only then are tax postings created when transferring stock between plants in different countries.
The taxation procedure and Intrastat declaration are supported only for the country of the company code.
    Requirements
Before you can assign plants to company codes, you must define the valuation control.
You may change the valuation control in the production system only after contacting your SAP consultant. Changes may cause inconsistencies in documents.
    Actions
Assign your plants to company codes.
    Regards,
    Masa

  • Contract for 3 years,

    hell everyone,
would you please advise regarding the doability of the following scenario:
we need to create a contract for 3 years, where the price is known for the first year.. but it is not for the remaining two years, it will be decided later..
    how can we do this??
    thank you

    Hi,
This is very much doable and is supported by standard SAP because conditions in contracts are always time-dependent
i.e you can enter a validity period for all your condition types (like say Gross price PB00 )
So just Create a contract by entering the validity period of the contract it self ( in your case 3 years )
And then enter details .i.e material qty etc ->go to-> item conditions-.> Enter your condition types (like PB00,FRB1) -.here you will find  Validity i,e Valid From and Valid to enter dates as per your need (first 1 year in your case)
At later stage when you get the price details for the next periods
Go to ME32K -.Overview ->Item conditions ->It will open a Pop up (show your previous validity periods) ->New validity period
here maintain next validity (2nd year in our case ) ->and Price for this validity  - >Save
Like this You can maintain as as many validity periods and price for that validity period as you need
    Thats it

  • Is there a servicec contract for device

    Hi,
sorry I can't find a more appropriate category...
My problem: I am not sure if there is an active (non expred) service (contract) for our ciscp vpn 3015 concentrator. So I have the serial but how can I search for a suitable contract. Maybe cisco is able to get the information if the concentrator is under service or not - but in which way?
    thank you
    kind regards
    daniel

    Hi Daniel,
you can try if you have access to this tool:
    http://apps.cisco.com/CustAdv/ServiceSales/smcam/requestStatusDispatch.do?methodName=onDashboardAction
If not, and you bought the device from a Cisco Partner or Reseller, you can ask them and they should be able to look it up.
Or you could simply call or email the TAC and ask, I suppose.

  • How create to master contracts for each new sold to party

    Hey SAP geeks,
I have a scenario, in which I need to create a maitenance contract based on support items in a billing document. The system should create a master contract for a particular sold to party if that sold to party has ordered support for the first time.(system should first search whether any master contracts exist for this particualr sold to and then create one if there arent any already created.) After the master contract is automatically created ,the system should create maintenance contracts based upon the support items in the billing document and then assign this contract to the master contract for that particualr sold to party. Is this possible? Can you tell me how we can do this? Points will be awarded. I guess this requires lot of ABAP programming. but it would be great if some help is provided.
    Thanks.
    Naveen

    Dear Hanumant,
    As per my view,,
You can use one time customer functionality to full fill your requirement.
When you create sales order with one time customer system take you to the customer data maintanence screen through that you can maintain the one time customer data.
Same one time customer number you can use for every new order through maintaining different data.
I hope this will help you,
    Regards,
    Murali.

  • 18 Month Contract For BT Infinity

I got a phonecall the other day from someone from BT trying to sell me BT Infinity, I've been thinking about moving to them for a while now but I'm not a fan of this 18 month contract, I'd much rather a 12 month contract.
    Can this be negotiated?
Also if I do decide to signup for BT Infinity do I have any rights if I'm not happy with the speed, i.e. can I opt out of the contract if I'm not happy? Basically I only want BT Infinity if I can get 40mb Down, 10mb Up speeds, I've tried the checker and it states I can get these speeds (I live around the corner from the exchange)

Hi Paul, I would imagine they would insist on the 18 month contract for the price they are quoting.
You have seen the post about the minimum, but you say:
"Basically I only want BT Infinity if I can get 40mb Down, 10mb Up speeds, I've tried the checker and it states I can get these speeds"
I would be very surprised if it stated that you would get, it most likely says:
"Our test also Indicates that your line currently supports a fibre technology where consumers have received a downstream  line speed of xx Mbps and upstream line spead of xx Mbps.
The actual stable line speed supportable will be determined during the first 10 days of use."
The wholesale checker is normally conservative so you should get the speeds quoted or more, but that is not guaranteed.
Once the service has started, so does your contract.

  • If I bring in an iMac not bought thru Apple, can I still purchase the 1 year support contract?

Hello ~ If I buy a used iMac from a private party, can I purchase the $100 per year Apple Store support contract? I can't get through to the store on the phone! Thanks!

You are probably thinking about "one to one". That is indeed $99 for a year, but it has to be bought when you buy your Mac.
But remember, for a 2008 iMac you have the collective resources of the folks who volunteer on these discussions!
