What is Support project , Rollout project and implementation project? What is the Roles & responsibilities of unctional consultant in Support project , implementation project and Rollout project?What is BLT in SAP? How we can prepare user Manuals? Can anyone give me the sample user Manuals?.

Implementation project - what we do from the scratch
the functional consultant roll will be studing there AS-IS study ,customize,user training ,go-live and support
( these varies from company to company)
Support project - Implementation over and which are not covered in implementation or something which has been missed (Scenarios) will be doing in the support project.
Roll Out Project - Already exsisiting configurations will be extended to a new company code / Plant .

Don't know which phone do you use but if you configure your Exchange ActiSync Profile on your Phone there is an option for the CONTACTS. Basically Exchange account will pull the contacts from your profile.. I did test it on my iPhone 5 and works for mee

Hey Gaito,
great. Now that you have a template project, you need to create one or more templates within the project template.
Go to tab Templates (of your Templ Proj) and activate 'Global Rollout Functionnality' to be able to use the templates.
Create a new template thanks to button create. Visibility will be set to red 'private'. You ll have to set it to visible so it becomes visible from your implementation project.
You ll see when trying to do that next message 'No scenarios/configuration structures assigned to the template XXXX'. That means that in SOLAR01 you did not define a scenario that ll be used in template you re trying to create
In order to do that go to SOLAR01 for template project, select/create scenarios in tab structure and set in column template value of your template (the one you re creating in SOLAR_PROJECT_ADMIN) and in Global Attribute set value t Global
You l definitely find more info on this in sap document SMI310 (course). I don t know if you can find it on internet

FCP X deleted about 2/3 of events to a project and the project. I uploaded the project to vimeo from FCP X, and the next day when I tried to use FCPX, they were gone, the events are gone from fcp and my ext hd, the project is still on the ext hd.

No, I don't have identical projects on a second drive, only saving to the movies folder on internal HD. The files and media save there fine, but fcp doesn't seem to recognise them the next day, just opens with one new untitled event and no projects.
I have tried saving to en external HD tonight and will see if the problem happens again with this set up when I restart tomorrow.
But I should be able to save to internal HD, so something is going wrong...

SQL Server 2008 R2: which version of Visual Studio do I need to keep database projects and SSIS projects in the same solution

I need to build a solution containing a database project and an integration services project for SQL Server 2008R2. Apparently, the subset of Visual Studio tools that comes with SQL Server 2008R2 does not include database projects and does not have
Team Foundation Server support. Because of those limitations, I am trying to determine which version of Visual Studio will allow me to:
1. Build a single solution that includes both a database project and an Integration Services project
2. For the database project, be able to import a database schema from an existing SQL Server 2008 R2 database, do schema compares and update the project from the database and vice versa
3. For the Integration Services project, be able to deploy the packages to SQL Server Integration Services on SQL Server 2008 R2 (that is, to the msdb database).
4. Use Team Foundation Server for source control of the whole solution, including both project types.

To build a solution containing a database project and an integration services project for SQL Server 2008 R2 and use Team Foundation Server for source control.
You can choose to install Visual Studio 2008.
And as you want to utilize Schema compare and/or Data compare functionalities in Visual Studio, you will need to install the
Visual Studio Team System 2008 Database Edition or Visual Studio Team System 2008 Team Suite.
In addition, for Visual Studio issues, I would like to recommend you post the question in the

Studio forums to get better support.

Difference between a Solution Manager project, and IMG project.

Hello,
We are in process of installing and thereby configuring scenarios for Solman 4.
While reading about it on help.sap.com, I came across following:

Please help me here by clarifying difference between two.

Hi Shantanu,
Let us assume you have captured everything w.r.to an SAP Implementation project in Solution Manager and this project has gone live. Here all details relating to an SAP Project are captured in a Solution Manager Project. Solution Manager project acts as a container to hold all the details relating to the SAP Project.
Now when this SAP Project comes in the support/maintenance phase, whenever a small change needs to be done to this SAP Solution, it will be raised as a Change Request. This change request will be captured in Solution Manager (starting from the point when the request was raised from an end user as a support message, which eventually might have evolved as a Change Request). All details about this change request, its approval workflow, task control being transferred to different roles(people), movement of the request along the transport path, everything is captured and controlled in the Solution Manager Project.
So, we are clear about Solution Manager Project now.
What is an IMG Project?
For each and every component involved in this SAP project, an IMG project will be created with the same name as the Solution Manager Project in the component systems. These IMG projects in the Satellite systems are the same as the normal Project IMGs which we use in any SAP Project to hold all details relating to an SAP Project w.r.to that component.
In the context specified by you, it has been told that any changes w.r.to a Solution Manager project or an IMG project can be tracked in CHARM. It is because any change that is requested w.r.to any component(say SRM or ECC) will result in a change in the details captured in Solution Manager project about that SAP Project, and also will result in a change in the details captured in the appropriate Project IMG (say SRM or ECC).

Main Projects and Sub Projects

Guys,
This is my scenario.
The projects that we are going to work has got a lot of activities and needs to be brought in to Project System. Since there will be a regular changes in the project and rescheduling to be done, the person who is responsible for the whole project will not be able to do the process regularly.
We have come up with the thought of distributing the work to different departments such as PED , RND, PURCH, QLTY etc... such that, each deaprtment Project* their work with different WBS elements (hopefully using CJ11) and finally all these wbs elements being connected to the Project definition which is created by the project manager. If there are any changes made to the WBS element the dates should be automatically rescheduled, which is available in SAP PS.
This can be a sub project kind of an idea. Minor projects under One main Major Project.
Or for eg.. Multiple projects of a department under the Departments' Project definition.
So guys, let me know if this concept could be done in PS.
Any kind of help will be really appretiated.

To be more clear from my side. Our plan crosses department wise rather that the projet plan flow. You can find the eg below.
1. The Project manager would create the project definition and would communicate this to all the dept heads and wait for them to create the WBS elements.
2. The dept heads would Project* their plan in to the system individually, entering the duration for each activity. This process is done by the cross functioning departments working on the same project.
3. The dept plan would later be linked to the Project definition by the project manager himself, and as the duration is already given scheduling would be carried out subsequently by the project manager.

Git, Main project and library project

I use git for version control, eclipse+flex builder for flex development.
I created a library prject 'core' and a main project 'base' which uses 'core'.
so my question is, how can I manage the 2 projects with Git, whena new developer check out 'base', it will also check out 'core' automatically, and references 'core' in 'base'

Sounds like a bug. However, I would recommend that you don't import all 8,000 images into a single project. Assuming each of your folders represents a shoot I would make a project for each one.
This is because you can import/export projects and you might want to export one for DVD backup. An 8,000 image project probably won't fit on a DVD if you're shooting with raw files. Also, this should make it cleaner to import projects captured on another computer (like a laptop).
I initially imported all my images into a single project, but eventually moved images into many small projects. You can always rearrange things from within the UI after the fact.

Difference Between Local Project and Global Project

If the project started at various locations, the first thing you should take care, is setting of posting period variants and fiscal year variants. next will be time schdules, as there will be climatic and timing constraints which may cause some work disorders. Last but not least is, co-ordination among all project locations. I think this will help to some extent.

Microsoft Project is a very good planning and scheduling tool.
It has noting to offer regarding costing, billing, integration with OTL, inventory, purchasing, AP, AR, GL, etc.
Oracle EBS Projects has limited functionality in planning, and no shceduling capability.

SG: Different Color rendering in SG-Projects and PPro-Projects?

Hi!
I have a problem while I'm trying to move a custom look from one project to another.
One project was created using an EDL to create a Speedgrade project (SG 7.1.0, OSX).
The other project was created by DirectLink, so I'm just opening up a Premiere Pro Timeline.
They both use the same H.264 footage from a DSLR
My problem:
I saved a look from within the EDL-based Speedgrade project.
If I now open the Premiere Pro project (with the same footage in it) and apply the look to the footage the outcome is different!
The Premiere Pro project becomes much lighter, and more desaturated (especially the red areas) after applying the look.
After I realized this I compared the footage without looks applied. Even then the footage looks brighter and less saturated when I open it from the Premiere Pro project whereas viewing it from within the Speedgrade project makes it appear a little darker and more saturated.
Is this a known problem?
Can anyone reproduce this?

I'm well aware of the so-called Quicktime gamma shift but didn't think of it.
The differences are rather big after applying the look (of course).
If I open the footage in Quicktime (QT 7 with Final Cut Color compatibility enabled to disable ColorSync) it looks like what I'm seeing in Premiere Pro but not like what I'm seeing in the Speedgrade project.
If I open the footage in After Effects with Colormanagement disabled it looks like it does in Quicktime and Premiere Pro / Speedgrade (DirectLink).
So either Speedgrade (in its native mode) is compensating something that isn't there or After Effects, Premiere Pro and Speedgrade via DirectLink are slightly off.
I'm using Direct Link to achieve a more flexible and fluid workflow.
If Premiere Pro had functions similar to AVID when it comes to transcoding timelines (like export all the clips with handles and import / open them in a new timeline) I would think of doing it but the way Premiere is right now I might just add some compensation to the look and keep working with my H.264 footage...
I hope oddities like this will be fixed soon and some urgently needed features added!
