Supress Column headers in Crosstab on page 2+

I have a crosstab report that spans multiple pages.  We export it to Excel for analysis, and never (or very rarely) print it.  We have to delete the column headings on page 2+ once it is in Excel.  Is there some way to supress those headers so that they only print once (on page 1)?

I do not have a problem with the Row labels, but rather the column labels.  I have already unchecked the box you refer to.

Thanks for this idea.  I right-clicked on the column header field in the cross-tab, chose format, and conditionally suppressed the field.  This prevents the field (date in my case) from displaying, but it still prints an empty line when exporting to Excel, which is less than ideal.  I'm wondering if I can trick CR to think that my page is 500 inches tall.

I've used your idea on other reports, but unfortunately that works on the Page Header section of the report.  Since the cross-tab sits entirely in a Report/Page Header/Footer, this trick will not solve my particular problem.
Edit: I was able to customize the page size to be 23.62" tall, but the report still ends up as two pages tall.

  • Cross tab column headers display on all pages

I made a Crystal Report with a cross tab which displays all details. In the cross tab I have 6 columns with details about the data displayed in the last 2 columns. The headers of these columns are only displayed on the first page but not on other pages. How can I add column headers to all pages? Thank you.

Column headings should be repeated automatically, row headings can be repeated by
    1.right-clicking on the row header
    2. select Row options
    3. .select Repeat Labels on Page break
or, when I just reviewed it in the help section it says:
"When you create a Cross-Tab that is wider or longer than the specified page size, the program automatically spans the printing across enough pages to accommodate the size of the Cross-Tab. In the Preview tab, a line will appear at each page break. For ease in reading, column headings will be repeated on subsequent pages. Row headings can also be repeated using the Keep Columns Together option.
    To repeat row labels
Right-click the blank top-left area of the Cross-Tab and select Cross-Tab Expert from the shortcut menu.
    The Cross-Tab Expert appears.
    Click the Customize Style tab.
Select the Repeat Row Labels check box, if desired.
Crystal Reports lets you designate report objects that don't expand horizontally, such as text objects, field objects, OLE objects, charts, maps, lines, boxes, and so on, to be repeated on each additional horizontal page that a Cross-Tab creates. For more information, see Repeating report objects on horizontal pages."

  • Repeated column headers in Crosstab report when exported to Excel

I have created a Cross tab report and wanted to export it in the format "Microsoft Excel(97-2003) (*.xls)", as the formatting of the report is lost in Excel  Data Only format. But when I export the data the column headers are repeated in the Excel. Is there any solution to avoid repeated column headers without losing the formatting of layout?

    I suppose one answer we should have before anything else;
Does the export work from the CR designer?

  • How to Print the Report Column headers on each page of any report

Can someone offer assistance on how I can go about achieving the ability to show and print the Report Column headers on each page of any report using the Print Attributes of APEX 3.0? These reports will be printed using Excel and Word.
I read a thread with a similar request but the answer seems vague for my level of understanding.
I am connected to a print server and using BI Publisher.
    Thanks,
    Ric

    Hello Ric,
    >> These reports will be printed using Excel and Word.
I'm not sure I understand what you are trying to do. You are using a very powerful tool – BI Publisher – why do you need Excel or Word for printing? Is there a special need only Excel or Word can provide?
One of the major advantages of using BI Publisher is that it's taking care of all these tedious tasks like reasonable page breaking, headers and footers, and also table headers.

  • SSRS 2008 R2 - Column Headers of a tablix visible while scrolling - Then the column headers not visible on 2nd page onwards for PDF EXPORT. it's vice versa. Hence it is possible to provide both at same time ?

    Hi,
    I am using SSRS 2008 R2.
I have two TABLIX in a report.  One is TABLIX with row/clumn grouping. 2nd one is flat view.
Here each tablix is dispaly it's data on single page for each.
My Requirement on First TABLIX is:
         1. I have to make column headers visible on scrolling down
         2. Export to PDF - column headers must be visible on all the pdf pages  for same tablix data.
But ... either one is achieved at my end.
so ... any suggestions please to achieve both at same time.
    thank you in advance.
    best regards,
    venkat.

    Hi G.V.Naidu,
According to your description, the first tablix is matrix to use display data.
In SSRS, if we want to fix matrix header visible while scrolling and repeat header columns on each page, we can select the corresponding option to enable this function. Please refer to the steps below:
    1. Right click tablix, and select Tablix Properties.
    2. Select “Keep header visible while scrolling” and “Repeat header rows on each page” to enable these function.
If we are use table to display data, please refer to the article about Repeat Header / Keep Header Visible in Tables.

  • Incomplete List of Values in Interactive Report Column Headers

    Oracle Database 11g 64-bit
    Apex 3.1.1.00.09
I created an interactive report that results in over 10,000 records, and several of the columns have incomplete filter values when you click on the column header. It's not even close in some instances. It's not even showing the values that are loaded in the visible page.
I have tried recreating the report on a new page, as well as creating a database view with the query and then just querying the view (in case there was a problem with query complexity).
I'm at my wits end as to why this is happening. Have any of you seen this happen, and is there any way to get around it? I know I can write my own LOV query for the column headers, but those won't be dynamic like they are supposed to be out of the box taking applied filters into account.
    Thanks in advance.

    Tim,
Did you find a solution to this. I have the same problem.

  • Hiding the column headers in boxed view

I've created a custom list that I'm displaying in boxed view.  Here's a sample of the columns:
    Business Systems Manager
    Project lead
    Project number
    SFA?
    Etc...
In boxed view, it displays like I have it here - vertical.  The names of the people and info display next to each item.
However, the web part is still displaying the column headings across the page like in this example:
Business Systems Manager - Project Lead - Project Number - SFA? - etc...
Some of my custom lists carry on for 12 or 13 columns and the main page view has about 6 or 7 of them so needless to say, the extra real estate the column headers (which are completely redundant because the column heading info is IN the boxed view!!!) are taking up is killing the layout of the page.
Is there anyway to remove the column headers from the boxed view with out of the box Sharepoint?   Or is Designer required?
    Thanks!
    Lorraine

    This worked well for me:
    1) Add a Content Editor Web Part
    2) Click Source Editor
    3) Enter the following code:
    [css] <style> .ms-viewheadertr { display: none;} </style> [/css]
    4) Select Save
    5) Go to Layout and Select 'Hidden'

  • Keeping row and column headers while scrolling inside a Web Dynpro table

    Hi,
I have to display a 2x2 matrix with storage location names on the x-axis (i.e. as Column Headers) and material names on the y-axis (i.e. row headers). The table data represents the quantities of a particular material in a particular storage location.
I am using dynamic UI generation to create this table. It can contain as many as 150 columns and almost as many rows. I dont want a page level scrollbar, and hence, have placed my table inside a scroll container UI element with a fixed height and width.
I need a way to let the users use the scrollbars inside the scroll container, but still let them see the row  and column headers. Is there a way that I can do this in Dynpro for Java?
    Thanks,
    Navneet Nair.

    Hi Kenn,

  • Dates in column headers based on passed-in parameters

I am trying to display a query that views performance data for a specified time range, with one day per column and the day's notation ('MON-DD') in the column header. Instead of giving myself a nightmarish query with a variable number of columns, I am starting with just 2 weeks worth and using DATE, DATE-1, DATE-2, etc. to derive the column data.
I can get everything to display just fine if I use SYSDATE, or just DATE, but I can't seem to figure out how to use DATE -1, etc. in the column headers. I have even tried creating hidden page items to calculate DATE -1 and referencing those in the column headers, but while the references work fine, the calculations error out. Again, the data is fine, it is just the column headers I am struggling with.
    Thanks for any ideas.

The SYSDATE - 1, SYDATE -2 works great in the report I have that goes back two weeks from the current day. The one I am stuck on is an alternate version of the report where I need it to go back 2 weeks from a date I let the user supply. This is the part that is killing me. SYSDATE -1 etc, processes just fine, but I can't figure out the syntax, etc. for using a page item instead of a constant/predefined SQL query.
The posted idea is also what I currently use in the working report and is brilliant. What I can't seem to get figured out is how to populate the hidden items with calculated values based on a page item (the passed in date).

  • Create column headers in report based on data entered in Form

    Hi,
I have a form with following fields being entered into a table: -- a start date for a project and then projected hours required on a monthly basis for X months
    Start Date mnth1_resource mnth2_resource mnth3_resource ...
    2/12/2011 30 20 80 ...
    6/3/2011 80 30 70
    3/12/2011 50 70 60
    4/10/2011 40 120 90
I would like to create a report (interactive or otherwise) that will provide headers for the actual months of the calendar showing the full range of months to cover the dates included in the data: e.g. if the above data was the only data entered then:
Feb Mar Apr May Jun Jul Aug Sept
    30 20 80
    50 70 60
    40 120 90
    80 30 70
Where mnth1 is the month of the start of the project--
Would appreciate any hints on how to accomplish this.
    Thanks,
    Pat

    Hi,
Thanks for the response. I see how a crosstab type report works great for data that is static and all in the table, however, in my case the issue is that the columns will vary depending on the start date of the project. So even though the user is only entering 12 months of projection, the total number of columns will depend on the start date of the latest project. For example, if a project does not start till June of 2011 and goes out 12 months, the actual column headers will need to go out to May 2012. Likewise the first column will be dependent on the earliest start date month-- like Feb 2011 in the sample data.

  • Crystal 11.5 truncating column headers on export to excel

    Hi,
We are currently (or finally as the case may be) upgrading our reports from Crystal 8.5 to Crystal 11.5 (which I know is a few versions behind but unfortunately the software that we integrate with is only compatible to 11.5).
However, I've been having a problem exporting to excel.
The column headers (which can be in a range of report header/page header/group header) are truncating to the the length that they display on the screen before the export.  When I view them in crystal viewer I can see that the entire text field is available.  However this does not flow through to export to excel.
I have utilised the "Can grow" formatting option however this then creates a merged field up 3 rows high in excel and the report then has problems using excel functions like sort etc.
I also attempted to use the data only option which does export the full text in the column names but then I lose the rest of my formatting.
There were no issues exporting from v8.5
    I have snapped to grid.
The actual data exports without issue it is only the column headers (text) which pose a problem.
I am unable to reduce the amount of data that we include in our report to free up space to display the entire text.
I would prefer to not reduce to a 4pt text size to ensure that it exports correctly as this will have significant impacts for those people who actually export the reports.
Is anyone able to shed some light on how to resolve this issue?   I've googled and searched these forums extensively but can't quite find a resolution to the issue and would really appreciate any assistance that anyone can offer me.
    Kind regards
    Janne

    Ian
It works for me whether my headers are text fields or field headers. Once I export them I expand the columns and set the cells to wrap, and I get the complete contents. Ditto for the fields themselved, and text fields containing data fields.
I always export excel(97-2003)data only with Column width based on objects in the details & checking   Export object formating, Maintain relative object position, Maintain column alignment, export page header and page footer, Simplify page headers.
Allow fields to grow is off on everything during exports.
Note: nearly all my reports are designed in Crystal 2008 without any SQL commands and all exports are done manually. Perhaps it is a XI.5 issue?

  • Format Column Header in Crosstab Query in Crystal Reports for Enterprise

    Hi
I am using Crystal reports for Enterprise and I would like to format the Column header of a crosstab query one block of colour say light blue.  However I cannot select the header in isolation to the rest of the cross tab.  All I can select is either column text boxes, which doesnu2019t look good formatted as a different colour to the background of the crosstab.  Or I can only select either entire column or the entire row, which kind of defeats the object of formatting just the column header itself.  Is there a way to isolate the column headers so I can format just the header, as the report is looking extremely bland all in white?
    Many Thanks in advance
    Regards
    Neil

Alright, here's what you need to do:
    1) RIght-click one of the Column Headers and select 'Format Result Object Element' > Appearance > click on the formula button (fx) beside 'Fill' and use this code:
if currentrowindex < 0 then crBlue
You wanted light blue right? So, the rgb value for light blue or sky blue would be 135-206-250. So, you can change the color by modifying the formula like this:
    if currentrowindex < 0 then color(135,206,250)
If this is not the exact blue you're after, just google!
    Hope this helps!

  • Trouble Freezing Row and Column Headers

I have created a report in HFR that is rather large. I need to freeze the row and column headers so that when I do a web preview, they are frozen and I can still see the headers when I scroll right or left or up and down. I have clicked on "Freeze Grid Headers" under the General tab on the Grid Properties sheet, but it only freezes my row headers and not my column headers. How do I get the column headers to freeze as well?
    Any help is greatly appreciated.

there is nothing to do with servelts to solve thisCorrect. You may use IFRAME element on your page.

  • How to have sticky column headers in a large list?

I have a list in sharepoint 2013.  It was created from a Microsoft Access database and so it displays like a spreasheat type list.  It is quite large and it would be nice to make the column headers "sticky" so that when you scroll down
the page/list you can tell what the data type (header) is for the data you are looking at.
Kind of like in excel when you do a "split" is what I am looking for .....
