Switching from Family Plan to Business account

I have been a customer of Verizon for years & have boasted about the service they provide.  However, recently I have tried to change my account from a Family Plan (5 phones) to a Business Account (needing 7-10 phones) & found Verizon was far from accommodating.  After setting up the account with a rep, I was informed that my company did not have enough credit history & I would need to pay a $125 deposit PER PHONE.  This is insane.  I could understand if I were a new customer, but I have a perfect payment history with Verizon for the past 4-5 years & they want an $875 deposit just to change my plan.
Oh, the rep was quick to inform me that I would receive my deposit back in a year with interest.  What an idiot...don't patronize me!  In a small business, cash is king.  Every dollar my company spends must see a 2 dollar return minimum....quickly.  Verizon is clearly making a statement that if you're an existing customer, they'll give you great service...but you're stuck in your plan.  Verizon also clearly has no intention in helping small businesses grow.
In doing the math, I have found it cheaper to pay off & end my current Family Plan with Verizon & join Sprints business plan.  I really don't want to, but might have to....unless Verizon steps up & does the right thing.

Verizon will screw small business out of money any way they can.  I got screwed when my business experienced call volume surge and incurred a massive overage amount. No notification from Verizon whatsoever.  They at least cut the overages in half.

  • Switching From Family Plan to Single Plan

I currently am the primary line on a family plan with myself and two other people. I want to upgrade to a smartphone using my NE2 this summer.
    I wanted to know:
. would upgrading my primary line using NE2 affect the other two lines?
. would their contract ending date change?
. would I be able to add the mandatory unlimited data plan to just the primary and leave the others untouched?
. can the two secondary lines be discontinued once their contract ending date comes? (sometime in November)
. then, I would have one line left on the family plan - would I then be able to change the family plan to a single line plan so I   don't have to waste minutes that I'll never use?
    Thank you.

    I wanted to know:
. would upgrading my primary line using NE2 affect the other two lines?  No - each line has a separate contract.
. would their contract ending date change? No, see above answer.
. would I be able to add the mandatory unlimited data plan to just the primary and leave the others untouched?  Yes
. can the two secondary lines be discontinued once their contract ending date comes? (sometime in November) Yes.  Be sure to ask that your service be discontinued on the last day of your billing cycle, both to avoid pro-rating changes AND to avoid having to pay for service that you won't use.
. then, I would have one line left on the family plan - would I then be able to change the family plan to a single line plan so I   don't have to waste minutes that I'll never use?  Yes
    Thank you.
You can change your plan at any time - and once the other two lines are dropped, it will shift to a single line and you can adjust the minutes as needed.  The lowest individual plan is 450 minutes.

  • I can no longer send emails from my mac yahoo business account, but can send them directly from yahoo. just not from mac mail. I've been able to send emails perfectly fine until today. Help!

I can no longer send emails from my mac yahoo business account, but can send them directly from yahoo. just not from mac mail. I've been able to send emails perfectly fine until today. I've been on the phone with yahoo mail and they've verified that my account settings are correct and I can send email from yahoo. I can receive emails via Mac mail, but just can't send them. An error message appears that says:
"Sending the message content to the server failed." I can't send emails from my Mac desktop, iphone or ipad. Any suggestions! Help! I'm a Mac rookie and so frustrated! Thanks.

Please read and begin using Can receive email, but not send email. I had a similar issue with Comcast mail (could receive by not send) and found my answer in this letter. For me it took resetting the outgoing mail and telling the system to use a password when sending outgoing mail. If you need help with that please advise and I'll tell you where to look.

  • Couldn't add you to the Family plan as your account needs to be based in the same country

I sent a Family plan invite to my wife's email address. After resting her password (perhaps she's not the one who made the account?) she tried to accept the invite by entering the token. She was told: We couldn't add you to the Family plan as your account needs to be based in the same country as the Family plan owner. We checked and both profiles show USA as the country. What's the hang up?

    Hi guys welcome!
Can you check if the country of both accounts match? You can check this by going to the Account Overview page.
If one of the accounts doesn't match, then change it to the right country.

  • System PATH environment variable issue when user log off and log in or switch from admin to non-admin account

    Hi,
    Problem Description:
After installing my new product version, when user does log-off and log in again into admin account
or switch from admin account to non-admin account, PATH environment variable shows incorrect path of my product (previous product version’s path) using command prompt.
It seems windows refresh issue during session changes (log off and log in / switch from Admin to
    Non-admin account).
Why PATH environment variable is not refresh immediately after log off and log in again or Switch

Why PATH environment variable is not refresh immediately after log off and log in again or Switch
    from admin to non-admin mode?.
I wouldn't have any expectation of what you are doing to work the way you expect.  E.g. why is the %ABC% being replaced at all?  There is some help about this ambiguous scenario in the cmd help...
/V:ON Enable delayed environment variable expansion using ! as the
delimiter. For example, /V:ON would allow !var! to expand the
variable var at execution time. The var syntax expands variables
at input time, which is quite a different thing when inside of a FOR
    loop.
    /V:OFF Disable delayed environment expansion.
So, what's the setting for the /V:  switch that your users would be using?  Perhaps you should be using the ! instead of the % for your ABC variable?
Oh.  There's more below where I found that...
Delayed environment variable expansion is NOT enabled by default. You
can enable or disable delayed environment variable expansion for a
particular invocation of CMD.EXE with the /V:ON or /V:OFF switch. You
can enable or disable delayed expansion for all invocations of CMD.EXE on a
machine and/or user logon session by setting either or both of the
following REG_DWORD values in the registry using REGEDIT.EXE:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Command Processor\DelayedExpansion
    and/or
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Command Processor\DelayedExpansion
to either 0x1 or 0x0. The user specific setting takes precedence over
the machine setting. The command line switches take precedence over the
    registry settings.
In a batch file the SETLOCAL ENABLEDELAYEDEXPANSION or DISABLEDELAYEDEXPANSION
arguments takes precedence over the /V:ON or /V:OFF switch. See SETLOCAL /?
    for details.
If delayed environment variable expansion is enabled, then the exclamation
character can be used to substitute the value of an environment variable
    at execution time.
So, I guess the essence of your "bug" will boil down to whether you
need the feature to get the result you want and the
truth of that first sentence but it certainly looks like a "can of worms" to me.   ; )

  • Charges associated with switching from Family to Individual Plans

Is there any kind of penalty charge  for switching from a family plan to an individual plan when it is the secondary line that is being removed and the secondary lines' contract is complete?

Thanks to the community members for your input. Hello skiibojosh, adding to what was stated, Are you just wishing to change your calling plan so each line remains with Verizon Wireless under their own individual plan You can always change your calling plan online without a penalty as it is not related to a customer agreement. I hope your line that completed the contract does remain with us. We desire to provide your line with best calling plan available. Here's a link that goes over the individual calling plans we currently offer. Additionally, there are great benefits with having a family share plan. However, depending upon your specific circumstances, if you desire to have both of lines on an individual plan, you could process a calling plan change online at My Verizon. It is suggested to change the calling plan effective on your next bill cycle to help avoid any prorated charges. If you need additional assistance with doing a calling plan change, send me a private message with your contact information.

  • Drop an "out of contract" line from family plan, but keep the number

I have a family plan with 4 numbers. One of the numbers (let's call it line#1) is out of contract, so I can drop it without penalty. However, this is my daughter's number and I really don't want it to change. Another of the numbers (line#2) is still under contract, but it is a phone number I don't need any more. Verizon will not let me "swap" these numbers and keep line#1 while dropping line#2 -- unless I pay the termination fee on line#2. So, I'm wondering if this will work:
    1. Port line#1 TO Google Voice (paying $20 to do so). This will cancel the Verizon contract for line#1.
    2. Activate my daughter's phone with line#2, and configure GV to forward calls/texts from line#1 to line#2.
    3. Wait a few days for things to stabilize.
    4. Port line#1 FROM Google Voice back TO Verizon, replacing the line#2 phone number.
At the end of this process, I will have effectively dropped the Verizon contract for line #1, have line#1 take over the contract formerly owned by line#2, and removed line#2 from my Verizon account. This is exactly what I explained to 3 different Verizon people, both over the phone and in a store -- and they claim that they can't do it because "the phone number is tied to the contract". They won't let me "swap" or "port" a number within my account, but they will let me replace the phone number on a currently active contract with an external number that gets ported in to Verizon. So, I need to port line#1 OUT of Verizon (paying Google $20 to do this) and then turn around and port it back IN to Verizon, replacing the line#2 phone number I no longer need. I don't see a reason why this will not work, unless Verizon has some self-serving rule about not porting in a number that was recently ported out. (Is there a "waiting period" involved here?) It's idiotic to me that Verizon would rather have me give $20 to Google to port a number out and back in rather than allow me to swap phone numbers on my Verizon account.
    Any thoughts?

    Thanks, 21stNow and Brian68.
Understood. I use Google Voice as my primary number now, but my daughter would prefer not to mess with it. She wants HER number (line#1) to show up on outgoing calls/texts using the native dialer/messaging apps. She has an iPhone, and I'm an Android guy, so I don't know how well GV integrates with the iPhone's native dialer/messaging apps. (On my Android, my GV number shows up on outgoing calls from the native dialer by choosing to "Use Google Voice to make all calls" in the GV app. I suspect this would be the same on the iPhone. However, texts sent using the native messaging app (not GV) come from my actual cell number -- even if I change the "Callback" number to my GV number.) I suppose I could train her to use GV for messaging, but GV does not handle MMS or group texts -- it just ignores them! I don't care about this, but my 20 year old daughter does!
Regarding being unable to port the number back into Verizon, is this a restriction because it is a former Verizon number? As I understand it, I can log into MyVerizon and choose to "Change Mobile Number" on one of my active contracted lines. There is an option to port in a number to replace the number currently on that line. Other threads suggest that porting from Google Voice works the same as a landline port. Has anyone tried this and had success/failure?

  • Moving from Family Plan to Individual

I've gone to three different Verizon Stores and have been given three different answers - none of which are helpful.  Maybe someone could give me an answer here?
I am currently on my family's shared plan, and I want to switch to an individual plan and upgrade to a Droid 2 (aka much higher payment and more expensive phone).  But I am not eligible for an upgrade until May 2011.
The first employee I talked to told me that this cannot be done, unless I agreed to pay full retail price for the phone with a new contract.
The second employee told me that this could be done at new 2 year contract price, but I would have to get a different number.
The third told me that if changed to an individual plan on my current phone, gaining financial responsibility of my account, then I may be eligible for an upgrade to a smartphone early.
I just can't believe that Verizon is unwilling to help, when I'm trying to spend more money with them!
If anyone could help me, it would be greatly appreciated!

The first employee I talked to told me that this cannot be done, unless I agreed to pay full retail price for the phone with a new contract. If you are not eligible for an upgrade till May 2011, then what the rep said is correct -  to upgrade through Verizon you would pay full price for the Droid 2.
The second employee told me that this could be done at new 2 year contract price, but I would have to get a different number. Also correct - you do nothing with the family plan, leave your line there (let someone else have that phone and number) and start your own account with anew number, and a discounted Droid 2.
The third told me that if changed to an individual plan on my current phone, gaining financial responsibility of my account, then I may be eligible for an upgrade to a smartphone early. Also true...

Not sure what you want to hear...all that the reps told you are options for you.

  • Change from Family Plan to Single Plan

I have a family plan with 2 lines.  Mine is the primary line, but we have about a year and a half left on our contract.  I need to change my plan so that I do not have the family plan anymore, and just keep my own line.  My question is, will I be charged extra fees to drop a line, will my bill go down or stay the same, and will I lose my unlimited data?

Both lines started a new contract about 6 months ago?  (that's how I read we have about a year and a half left on our contract)  Is there someone who is to take over the second line?  If you got two discounted phones 6 months ago, then both lines are under contract.  There will be an ETF on the line you cancel - $350 less ~$60 if it is a smartphone, $175 less ~$30 if it is a basic phone that was purchased initially.
I don't know what your plan is now, or what you might change it to, so I have no idea if the bill will go up or down.   You said you have unlimited data now, so you must have had the plan prior to this recent upgrade.... however, if you change plans (and dropping a line and switching to an individual plan will be a plan change) then it's likely the unlimited data will not carry over to the new plan.
Each line has it's own contract and upgrade eligibility.  Call #UPG on each phone to see when each line is eligible for an upgrade and when the contract ends for that line (or log on to MyVerizon as the account owner and view the information for each line there)
Post back if you have further questions - you really didn't provide enough information to give you a more definite answer.

  • Remove data plan from family plan with basic phones?

Is there a way to remove a data plan from a family plan with just basic phones on it? We used to have a $20/month basic plan until we had to get a data plan for our son's iPhone. He no longer has the iPhone with Verizon and has removed his line from the plan because he has an Android with Sprint. We also were required to use the data plan because we at one point had one of those "Hotspot" devices as a temporary solution for at-home Internet until our DSL line could be fixed. As of now we no longer have the hotspot device or the iPhone, but we still have a data plan that is patently useless because all we have are basic phones. On the My Verizon Wireless website, it says that "your text and data are now bundled with your plan" or something to that effect. I don't want to be paying extra for a useless data plan that we don't need or want because we are not in the market for fancy smart phones or tablets any time soon.
Is there any way to unbundle or detach the data plan so that we no longer have one and just have the unlimited text and calling plan without data? Our daughter is fine with her EnV Touch from 2005 and us old folks are perfectly content with the basic flip phones. Is the EnV a data phone too, in which case we should get rid of the EnV Touch in favor of an even more "basic" basic phone? She's not much of a technology buff like her brother is and has even suggested getting rid of the "fancier" phone that she has for a basic flip phone. Are we stuck with the data plan unless we break everyone off from the family plan (it's just me, my husband, my daughter, and my sister for right now) and move everyone to pay-as-you-go or no-contract? Wouldn't that end up costing more in the long run? How can we get rid of this annoying and expensive data plan that nobody on our network even uses and is causing a headache of expense?

As I understand the plans now (and this could be wrong, they change so often I get confused!!) to have the "pay as you go" data, on the More Everything, you have 700 shared minutes.  To bump up to unlimited minutes, there is an attached data plan of 500 MB, and the total cost for 4 basic phones, unlimited minutes and text, 500 MB data, is $100/mo  ($20 for each basic phone line access, and $20 for the data).  The 700 shared minutes and pay as you go data is $85.
You can change your plan at any time.

Your best bet would be to contact iTunes Support again. Also, make sure there wasn't an attachment to the email? But if there was not, contact them again and tell them you need to either have the form sent to you or you need to know where you can find it. Here's the link:

  • Remove 1 phone from family plan

How would I remove 1 phone from a family plan that is past its 2 year contract?

The ETF for a smartphone starts at $350 and drops $10 for each month of you contract you complete. Basic phones would be half that($175 start, $5/month decrease).
Additionally, whether or not you have a smartphone or basic phone ETF depends on which type of phone you purchased at your last contract signing, NOT necessarily on which type of phone you currently have active on your line. For example, if you last purchased a smartphone when signing a contract but now have a basic phone active on your line, your ETF would still be that of a smartphone.

  • Switch from Home Broadband to Business ... modem hates me now

So we deicded to switch our service at home to business as we run a home business. The "reverse migration" took forever, we never received the email letting us know it had finally happened our net just stopped working, and when i rang telstra they informed me we were business now.. We were given a new sign in for the modem of an @direct.telstra.net address which i entered, applied and hey presto net was back, then it was gone. Restarted the modem AGAIN, checked it and the sign in had reverted back to our home plan sign in. I re entered the business log in, applied and hey presto net again.... It lasted a week EXACTLY and now tonight ive had to restart and reenter the business sign for about the last 4 hours. Anyone had similar? Anyone able to help??? We are using the telstra provided modem TG 797

If it's pulling the residential details from them then yes there is a system on their end that needs updating.
When you connect to the server it see the 'MAC' address of your modem. This is a unique serial number/fingerprint that no other device has.
It is then checking this MAC against it's database and saying, oh this modem doesn't have the 'right' details in it and that means this customer might not be able to connect to the internet. So via the TR-069 (technical jargon) protocol it sends the username and password directly to the modem and says these are the right details, use these.
However, as you know, those details are in fact now wrong. So Telstra need to update the system that is sending the details to either stop doing so, or to use the new business username/password.

  • Switching from photographer plan to complete and back possible?

    Hello. A small question.
I currently have the photography plan (CC+lightroom) which I use daily.
I am starting a few movie endeavours and also back into simple sites editing, and as a result I am considering switching to the complete edition as adding premier pro and maybe after effect and muse will cost more than the complete bundle. This will for a few months until february, and after that I'm not sure I will continue with it, but if so, I will for the most of the next year.
So my question is if I do switch to the complete bundle, can I go back to the photography bundle back, remove the apps I don't need, and just stay with photoshop+lightroom bundle as its currently priced? Or it will be more complicated than that?
I just wants a heads up to know what my options are, should I purchase those apps separately or save money for the complete bundle?
There is a current 40% off the complete bundle which can also save me some money.
    Cheers.

    TP57 wrote:
In your case it would be more cost efficient that you would figure our the length of time that you will use premiere pro and after effects.  For example, if you only need to use both products for 2 to 3 months, it would be more economical for you to subscribe to both of these applications on a month by month basis.  On the next year when you know you will need access to all the apps then you can select to subscribe to the individual or business solutions for the complete creative cloud.
Trust me as this will save you a lot of time in trying to save money by subscribing/cancelling/subscribing on a short-term basis.
I will need them for about 5 months.
If I buy them separately, at least premier pro and after effects, I will need to pay 200$/300$ (2 or 3 apps), and if I cancel I will have to pay for about 140$/210$ (50% of remaining 7 months or keep using it for 7 more months).
If I buy the current available complete package which is currently on a discount for 30$/month for the first year, I will pay 150$, and than pay 105$ if I cancel, and I get everything.
If I continue for another year, the full price of the complete package for 50$/month will still cost less.
I just want to make sure I'm not doing a mistake, and if I do cancel the complete package (which is currently the best price), I will still be eligible to buy the photography package (as I don't have a previous CS3-CS6 license).
If its questionable, I will need to use a different ID to purchase a complete package, which as I understand the EULA, its not allowed (or am I mistaken?).

  • How do I switch from group plan to individual plan?

I have been in a plan with three individuals included on the plan. How do we go from a group plan to individual plans if it was under the name of just one individual? Can we just keep our individual numbers and just move to individual plans?

I can help you, Shockrift. You can also go onto individual plans and stay on the same account. http://bit.ly/xdDajD I must advise that this will increase your monthly cost. Please let me know if you need additional assistance.
