Sync issue after installing OSX Lion

I updated my 2008 IMAC to 10.7.3 to use Icloud. Now it does still not sync eg. the Calendar with my Ipad, Iphone nor MacBook Pro even though I enabled it. these tool interact perfectly through Icould just not with the IMAC. what is wrong?

Check each service is enabled. Try turning syncing off, restarting the mac and turning syncing back on again.

  • IMac keep shutting down after installing OSX lion

    Hi,
I have a mid 2010 27 inch i5 machine and after I had installed OSX Lion last month the machine randomly shut itself down while I'm using it.  At first I thought it was because of a software problem with Final Cut Pro X, since I installed that at the same time and it would shut down while I was using it.  Then it start to shut down while I'm just browsing the net.  Restarting is not a problem but a pain to loose unsafe data when it crashes.
Does anybody else have this problem?  Again the machine was working fine before OSX Lion so I don't think it's a hardware issue.  On average it would shutdown once or twice per usage day sometime a few minutes after turning on the machine, still cool, and sometime after a while, not excessively hot.
Appreciate any help and thank you in advance!

  • Ethernet connection issues after installing Mountain Lion

After installing Mountain Lion I can't get my iMac to connect by ethernet. It says that no cable is connected. The cable/connection is fine. When I plug in my MacBook Pro running Lion, the ethernet connects just fine.

same exact problem.  in fact, my iMac24 (2009) worked flawlessly until I installed the latest update to Mountain Lion.  I then checked my MBAir (2011) and it too has a problem when using the USB/Ethernet adapter.  Neither can get an ethernet connection.  I deleted my network preferences and rebooted my machine, played around with my Ethernet switch and even reboot my gateway/router.  I've never had to do any of this to my network until Mountain Lion.  Wireless is the only thing that continues to work on both machines.

  • HP Printer issue after installing Mountain Lion

Hi, a few days ago I posted the following question regarding a printer issue and so far I have not been able to fix the problem.  Here's the original question and I will  continue the explanation after this....
Hi, I am a fairly new iMac owner and I am really happy with my apple, however I have an issue with my printer and I kind a "blame" Montain Lion for it.  I have been using this HP Laserjet P2015 dn printer for a long time, initially with Windows and now with iMac.  The first year approximately there was no problem at all to print and the transition from Windows to Mac with the printer had no difficulties at all.  It was connected wirelessly via router.  After downloading Montain Lion I notice the printer intermittently lost connectivity.  The only way to print was turn off and turn on and it will print fine until the next time.  Now out of the blue it's doing the same thing so frequently I can't print a complete document at all.  It starts, and finish without printing the entire document or not connect at all.  I have tried everything, including a static IP address for the printer, connect the printer to the computer via USB, downloading all the printer updates from HP and nothing seems to work.  Just now, I did it again (for 100 times so far), delete the printer, reinstall and it's doing the same thing.  It connects fine (either via IP or USB) and it last connected only for a minute or two.  That's it.  It's a shame, because I like the printer.  The printing quality is great and to add more pain, I recently got a new ink cartridge ($100.00) capable of printing 3000 pages.  It has 70% of ink still.  Any computer sabby person out there has any ideas for me? Like I said, I've done everything.... inluding,
    1.  Remove the printer
    2.  Update the drivers
    3.  Assign a static IP address to the printer
    4.  Connect via USB
    5.  Disconnect the  printer for a while and restart the whole process again
    6.  Did a "cold start" to the printer
I don't know what to do, and I don't want to spend more $$$$$ on a new printer.  Is Montain Lion to be blame for?  Please advise me.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
At this point I do have the printer connected only via USB, prints one page (perfectly) and then goes offline.  Before installing Mountain Lion I did use the printer with my Mac for almost a year with no issues at all.  I even downloaded Mountain Lion again thinking of any flaws during initial installation.  I've done all the updates, drivers, uninstall, re install, repair disk permission, static ip address....you name it... I've done it all and nothing seems to work.  What makes no sense to me is that prints so great only one page and then is gone.... I would be happy to know the printer is dead and go get a new one but in my mind if it prints ok one page it still works.  I don't want to have a new printer and find out it does the same thing.  I can't keep myself away from blaming Mountain Lion.  IS THERE ANY WAY TO REMOVE MOUNTAIN LION WITHOUT THE RISK OF DAMAGING THE COMPUTER????  PERHAPS GOING BACK WILL PROVE ME MOUNTAIN LION IS THE CULPRIT.  Just saying... I am totally frustrated.  I guess the next step is to get a baseball bat and fix the printer once and for all.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Any fix for this? I have the same problem after upgrade.  It's off by many seconds.  Thank you.

  • After installing OSX Lion, the built-in camera no longer works.  Solution?

After installing OS X Lion on a late 2010 MacBookPro, the built-in camera no longer works.  Worked beautifully with Snow Leopard.  Reset SMU to no avail.  Any solutions?

Hi, Thanks for the reply, I really appreciate your help with this.
Yes to both questions: iMovie is in the Applications folder, not in any subfolders. And I have reinstalled iMove from the original disc (before and after the OS reinstall) but can only get up to 7.1.4 without buying a later edition of iLife.
The camera definitely worked under Snow Leopard but not since I upgraded from SL to Mountain Lion.
Found the following on this forum:
If you have iLife '09 or older, there have been no iPhoto 8, iMovie 8 or
Garageband 5 (or older) updates relating to Lion or Mountain Lion. The
support and compatibility situations for those versions is unknown as
Apple hasn't said anything. We can only determine compatibility
anecdotally. If it turns out that there is a problem and Apple doesn't
release an update, your only recourse is to buy the latest version of
    the application.
I reinstalled some other iLife apps as well. iDVD went missing after the ML reinstall. When I reinstalled it from the original disc, it wouldn't open and I had to download a manual update to get it working. iWeb previously stopped working after the upgrade to ML (all the menu options were greyed out) but when I reistalled it (together with iMove and iDVD) yesterday, it started working again.
All this seems to point to a compatibilty issue between iLife '08 and ML.

  • Startup issues after installing mountain lion

Since I updated to mountain lion two days ago I'm having issues starting my mac after system shut down. When I switch my mac on I get a black screen with what looks like DOS writing, it won't go to the login screen unless I hold down the power button till it shuts down then switch it on again then it will boot fine! I've tried repairing disk permissions but this has not helped.
Any ideas?? tried ringing apple but they're closed :-(

    Hi Guys...
Sorry its taken me a fews day to get back, well as it stands the situation is still the same!
Heres what I've done so far:
reset the PRAM - no joy
reset the SMC - no joy
ran the disk repair in recovery - no joy
repaired disk permissions in recovery - no joy
reinstalled mountain lion - no joy
but I think I've narrowed down the problem from the log console, it would appear that my imac is automactially booting into single-user mode.... see below.
    01/08/2012 12:03:00.706 com.apple.launchd[1]: *** launchd[1] has started up in single-user mode. ***

    01/08/2012 12:03:00.712 com.apple.launchd[1]: *** Shutdown logging is enabled. ***
any ideas on how to rectify this would be great please...

  • Sync issues after installing Dynex USB 2.0 Card Bus Adapter

I can't seem to get my iPod to sync via itunes. The only way I can seem to get it done is by pulling the cable and then putting it back in. It syncs just fine when connected to my USB 1 port. It's slow, but it's functional.
    Has anyone else experienced this?

I know you said you reset the cpu but i just want to clarify.
Have you reset the PMU? It's the little pencil eraser size button on the motherboard, sometimes red or black.
Shut down your computer, unplug the power cord and press the PMU button once and only once.
Then restart and see if that solves it.

There is one thing you can do to try to determine what's consuming that space.  Launch a Terminal session, then type this command:
    sudo du -d 1 -h -x /
and press <return>.  You'll be prompted for your administrative password, which won't be echoed as you type it.  Press <return> again after you type the password.
The output will show one line for each file or directory at the top level ("/") of your disk.  That will give you a first-cut picture of what's consuming the space.
Here are the things on my system that have a non-trivial amount of space:
    975M /.Spotlight-V100
    15G  /Applications
    17G  /Library
    5.8G /private
    3.8G /System
    37G  /Users
    606M /usr
For more details on a particular entry, just put its name after the slash on that command, such as
    sudo du -d 1 -h -x /private

  • Virus in safari after installing OS Lion

Shortly after installing OSX Lion, I downloaded content from three "Rorshach" sites, and now whenever I open Safari, three windows open and a dialogue box pops up in front saying I have won a free iPad.  There is no way to close the pop-up, and I have to force quite Safari to use my computer.  I can't uninstall and reinstall Safari, because it is part of the operating system.  What should I do?  I have time machine backups of my data, but not my OS.

As Kirk says, you don't have a virus.
In Lion, apps re-open whatever windows were open when they quit the next time you start them up.  So, you quit Safari with those pop-ups open, so it's trying to re-open them every time you launch it again.
Why can't you close those pop-ups?  All Safari windows should be closeable, and I'm not aware of any way to prevent that.  Can you provide a screenshot?  Use command-shift-3 (or command-shift-4 to select only a part of the screen), then upload the photo here by clicking the camera icon in the editor.

  • After installion OSX Lion... funny colors

    Hi there!
After installing OSX Lion on my system I installed completely new my master collection CS3 with Premiere Pro.
And now always when I cut or move my clips it makes funny red colors which is really hitting on my nervs - it's working but... seriously???!
You can answer in english or german - THANK YOU ALL!!!

    Lars,
Thanks for sharing the discussion with Adobe. That confirms my fears.
Unfortunately, when one has an older program, that was written well before a new OS was even in development, things can go very wrong. The lack of support for a program, that is now 2.5 versions old, is about what I had expected. Adobe is not alone here, as I encountered many programs, that were written for earlier versions of Windows, when XP hit. Many would just not work, and could not be made to work. Also, none of those older versions were supported any longer.
For a very few, that I used often, I had to build a new computer, just for them. Though the "parts" of that computer were then state-of-the-art, I had to limit the installed RAM to 512MB (contemporary computers had 4GB RAM, but those older programs could not see more that 512MB, so reported that there was "not enough RAM" to run them, when there was actually too much! I also had to run a much older OS for them. Over time, I was finally able to find replacement programs for those "old stand-bys" most of which were from dead companies. When I was able to find replacements, I could finally go in and add 4GB of RAM and unleash the potential power of that box, with a new OS.
For other programs, I had to hold off on going to XP, until I had upgraded each. While not as expensive, as say Adobe Master Collection, because of the number, it was not cheap. It was not until XP was up to SP-2, that I could finally install the new OS, and then install all of my upgraded programs.
With legacy software, and newer OS's (not just on the PC), there are often compromises to be made. In my case, I took what I think was your "option 1."
I feel your pain, and that of several other users of Lion with older versions of Premiere. I have been there - done that, and had to bite a few bullets along the way. On one hand, we get more powerful OS's, but on the other, some legacy software will just not run on them.
    Good luck,
    Hunt
