Sync Issue for photos

I have had a persitent problem for some time with my classic. It syncs music but not photos. The message I am geeting at the moment is "IPOD cannot be syncd , the required file cannot be found".
Since having the problem I have updated the firmware file, (solving a previous message indicating this could not be found (thanks to Jeff Bryan)), I have downloaded the latest software for IPOD and I Tunes, plus have restored to factory settings.
Any advice
Thanks

I am having the same problem. The Genius at the Apple store couldn't fix it. Did you ever get this problem resolved? How?

There are multiple reasons that lead to issue. You should read the troubleshooting guide to get the right solution to solve the issue: iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch not recognized in iTunes for Windows - Apple Support

  • A/V out-of-sync issue for FCP captures

I've read many of the out-of-sync posts on this board, most of which seem to indicate that the problem is usually caused by either dropped frames, bad timecode breaks, edit errors, or disunity between FCP capture and sequence settings, compared with audio sample rates for the underlying files.
My files, shot on my Panasonic AG-DVX100A in 24pa mode, result in perfect (except for the anamorphic screen size - see my next post!) Quicktime movie files, in perfect sync. It's only when I create clips from those files in FCP that the video and audio go out of sync. And the out-of-sync drifts; that is, the further you go in the clip, the more out of sync the sound and the video gets.
My camera is always set to the 24pa mode, which, by default, records only in the non-drop-frame mode, regardless of any other camera settings I may have selected. The audio settings in my camera (and in the resulting underlying QT files that are created when I capture in FCP) are 16-bit integer and 48.000 khz, as they are in both my FCP sequence presets and capture presets, so I don't think it's an issue of conflicting sample rates. My device control presets are for Firewire NTSC NDF (non dropped frame).
Given the above information, does anyone have any idea what else I might be doing wrong? I've already shot hundreds of hours of footage last year that worked fine. I don't know what I changed to cause this out-of-sync problem now, but I'm going bald tearing out my hair trying to figure it out.
Thanks in advance for your help!

The dvd recorder was in the loop when the sync issue showed up.  the dvd was in sync but the live stream, next in line, was out of sync.  I have returned to using the older machine with xp.  (the lap top is running vista)  The older machine is a desktop which requires more space on the production table and time to set up.

  • Common sync issues for Ovi

We tend to see lots of similar questions here, so hopefully this helps you guys out with your sync issues:
Sync SMS not arriving to device: - Commonly caused by the following reasons.
    1. Operator is blocking the message from arriving.
This is the most common fault not to get the message. Please keep informing us about the problem cases via the contact us form http://www.ovi.com/support/care (if you sign in, it will prefill your personal details so you save some typing).
We will work with the operators to resolve the cases as quickly as possible but as it invilves many parties it is not always as speedy as should be. Please be patient.
    2. Phone number incorrectly inserted
Very common problem we see every day. Phone number needs to be in international format. It must start with the country code +XXX followed by your number without the first digit (usually 0). e.g. your country code is +44 (UK) and phone number is 0781234567 -> the international number is +44781234567.
    3. Operator alters the message.
The operator does something in between and makes the message e.g to disappear or makes the PIN code invalid, etc. Please report these cases also to us and we'll make our best to sort them out. From all the cases these are the most difficult ones to solve and will take long time.
My phone is not on the list of supported devices:
Many new models are not added to ovi as quickly as should and we're aware of this. Again patience is requested from users. We're constantly working to ensure that the new device certification is not forgetting the new devices.
As a workaround you can choose a device with same software platform and you can perform the sync with Ovi even if your new device is not yet on the list.
    Synced data disappears:
Some of you have probably seen a case where all the data you have synced is not shown in Ovi. (e.g. secondary mobile numbers). The data is there in the database but not shown in your contacts. All your data is synchronized but all not showed.
We're constantly working on improving the Ovi sync experience so please bear with us and keep providing the feedback.

As requested by you, here goes my report. I use an E71 and everytime I receive the sync configuration SMS, the PIN Code is reported as invalid. My operator is Claro and I'm in Brasilia/DF, Brazil.
Is there any way to manually configure the phone?
    Thanks for any additional information!

  • Sync Issue for Outlook 2003 Resolved

First let me say that this has been a bit of a laborious project. I was able to successfully resolve the sync issue on my connection and was replicated on a second machine and second iPhone using the same process.
NOTE: This worked with the following: Windows XP Pro, (Version 2002 SP2) and Outlook 2003. Your results may vary!
With your iPhone NOT connected, do the following:
Go to the Microsoft Website under Downloads and be certain you have the latest Service Pack 2 for Outlook and all other Windows security updates downloaded installed on your machine, then (IMPORTANT!) RE-START your machine!
    In Outlook:
    1. Go to Tools/Options/Other/Advanced Options/COM Add-Ins
    2. There should be two add-ins listed:
    - iTunes Outlook Addin
    - Outlook iTunes Sync Addin
    3. Be sure the boxes are checked for both items.
    4. Then under Help/About/Disabled Items, highlight and enable the iTunes add-in, if it is still disabled.
    5. Close Outlook, and RE-START your computer.
(Seems these add-in gets written into the Windows registry as well as the Outlook add-in manager.)
    6. Open Outlook and check Help/About/Disabled Items and the COM Add-ins to be sure the add-ins are recognized.
Connect your iPhone and sync. Once the sync process is complete, check your phone for any/all synced items...
Again, once this process worked on my machine, and was replicated on a second machine (Same OS, and Outlook version) so I know it can be done successfully without help from Apple tech support.
I'd be curious to hear from anyone trying this process to see if this works in a different setting, (i.e. OS version, etc.)
    Good luck!

I tried this, including rebooting my iPhone prior to resyncing it with Outlook, and there was no joy.
My symptom is that I can enter calendar items on the iPhone, and they appear on Outlook, but I can't enter calendar items on Outlook and have them appear on the iPhone.
My suspicion is this: I have multiple email accounts feeding into my Outlook account. I think that may have something to do with it. I've been waiting and reading the forums here, because I've been concerned that the iPhone support calls would be flooding in. But this is starting to be pretty annoying, so I'm going to try to call Apple and see if they can help. (And also with the "no additional mailbox" problem, which is also pretty durn annoying.)
If I find an answer, I'll post.

  • Anyone noticed Quicktime 7.4.5 causing out of sync issues for online vids?

Since 7.4.5 all Quicktime video clips I view online in Safari have audio out of sync with the video (by perhaps four frames). Anyone else seeing this?

I do not use Safari. However, I have no problems w/out of sync issues using the +latest versions+ of FF, Camino & Netscape.
Have you tried other browsers to rule out Safari as being the culprit rather than QT? Are you using the latest version of Safari?
What troubleshooting methods have you tried to resolve your issue? Need this info to avoid the +"been there done that"+ senareos.

  • Syncing Issues from Photos vs iPhoto

I love the fact that Apple innovates time and again to newer and better ways of doing things, which always start with a few hiccups. I am recently facing an issue with transfer of Photos to my devices.
When I try to sync using Photos, all my library gets replaced by '0' photos. Btw I have my iPhoto and Photos library on an external hard disk which I surely hope never crashes.
Is it some sly way of making users pay for iCloud Photo sharing service?
Can anyone help and explain this and maybe a possible workaround.

It's working for other folks - including me in my testing. I'd start with the basic: restart the Mac. IF that doesn't help, rebuild the Photos library.

  • IOS 4 sync issue for Visages through iTunes

In iTunes, under the Photos tab, I select certain visages that I want to sync to the iPhone. 3 out of the 25 different persons I have but they will all (that the 25 differents people) be sync on the phone... If I select only one, same... Seems that selecting one or more has the same effect as selecting all of them...
Anyone else with the same issue? Any solution?

  • HT1688 syncing issues with photos

I am trying to sync but do not want to sync my photos with my phone. In fact I want to delete all photos from my phone because they are wasting memory. How can I delete photos in the "album" area and how can i sync without it uploading all the photos I just downloaded to iphoto?

If you don't want to have any photos on your iPhone transferred from your computer and all such photos removed from your iPhone, deselect Sync Photos under the Photos tab for your iPhone sync preferences with iTunes followed by a sync.

  • Sync issue for iTunes purchases

I am running XP service pack 2 and have a first generation 8GB iPod Nano. I have music on iTunes that has been ripped from CDs I own and some music that I have purchased from the iTunes store. Recently I had an issue with iTunes repeatedly asking me to authorize my computer to play my iTunes purchases. I resolved this issue by following the instructions on this site about deleting the SC folder. So now my computer plays my iTunes purchases without issue.
However, when I try to sync my iPod, the music I have ripped from CDs will sync without problem, but it refuses to sync my iTunes purchases, claiming that my computer is not authorized to play them. (Note that when I play my iTunes purchases on my computer there is no issue and I do not get this message.)
I attempted to restore my iPod using my computer and received the 1436 error when iTunes got to the point of downloading the software for the iPod. I was able to restore my iPod from another computer running XP SP2. I then followed the instructions on one of the articles on this site and replaced the dll files. This did not solve the problem. I then removed and restored/updated the USB driver, which also did not solve the problem. My iPod will still sync with ripped music, but not with any purchases from the iTunes store.
Seeing as how my iPod can be restored by another computer and is recognized by my computer and will sync with music ripped from CDs, I think this must be an issue with my computer and/or its accessing the iTunes store, but I am at a complete loss as to exactly what the problem is or how to solve it. If anyone can help I would be very appreciative.

Well, I think the issue has to be with DRM. I just updated part of my library to DRM-free files (some files aren't available for the upgrade yet), and they sync to my iPod without issue. The ones with DRM still won't sync to my iPod. I suppose in the worst case I can just wait until everything is DRM free and just upgrade.

  • Sync Issues for Tasks

I already tried all the suggestions listed in the help section, but I cannot get all my tasks to sync from my blackberry handheld to my desktop. They were previously on the desktop, but they disappeared. Now, they are just on my handheld and I cannot get both task lists to be the same. Any ideas?

    Linh,
What is the task list you see under the column Server Settings >> Connected SharePoint Sites,
under the columns Tasks List, when you use the default template?
More over, is this is a new project or an old project? I think there is an issue if yo turn off and turn
the sync option again for existing projects. May be it applies to projects that you delete and recreate project site for?

  • Q10 Sync issues with photos

My photos show as synced when my Blackberry Q10 is attached to the Blackberry Desktop sofware. However, when i remove the device, all new pictures no longer are synced. All software is up to date.
    Any help would be appreciated.

    Hi,
Yes, I apologize. The video editor wasn't giving me any details. I did see the 44.1/48khz issue online. So will this happen only if both are mixed in the same timeline?
    Thanks

  • Itunes sync issues for windows 7 and Iphone 5

Itunes keeps telling me that it is unable to sync my library to my Iphone 5 because there is not enough free space. It also shows that there is no music/ films on my phone when there are. How can I fix this problem?

    Hello Vinceagorn
Try turning off the sync feature to remove any music that might have made the transfer but does not show up then try the sync again. Check out he article below for more detailed instructions to sort out your issue.

  • E52 calendar sync issue for recurring meeting in M...

I use Nokia PC Sync (PC Suite 7.1.26.0) to update the calendar of my E52, but found out that it simply does not synchronize recurring meetings in MS Outlook 2007.
I consider this a serious problem, as I miss many important items from my calendar, and do not want to add them manually. Did anybody experience the same problem? Any ideas how to overcome?

Try increasing the time range for future calendar items. If not try using the newest Ovi Suite. It syncs recurring calendar event to my E55 (same as E52 essentially) just fine.

  • IPhone "cannot be synced;" issues with photos!

I tried to delete some of my photos from my 8G iPhone since they were taking up a lot of room, but when I tried to sync my iPhone with only some picture folders selected instead of all of My Pictures, iTunes refused to delete the old pictures and left white squares with strange formatting and the same labels, taking up the same amount of memory, in their place. An error message popped up which says: The iPhone "iPhone" cannot be synced. An unknown error occurred (-39.)" Help! I've restarted my computer and turned my phone on and off again but nothing has helped and the same error shows up each time. I couldn't even get the old pictures back onto the phone...

One thing that you can try.
Before going through a full restore, try syncing to a blank folder first.
Create a folder on your desk top or where it is convenient.
    Call it Blank.
Now open itunes and connect the iphone.
Set itunes to sync pictures only to that blank folder and click apply.
This clear out any pictures you have synced to the iphone.
Now try syncing to a folder with just a few pictures.
If this does not work, then you might want to do the restore as suggested by Allan.
Here is an article from the apple support website that explains more about the restore process.
