System Center Orchestrator 2012 R2 Runbook needed to monitor multiple folders

I've written script that will scan ~25 folders and pick the folder(s) with files in it and spit out the path for one of those folders. I then want to monitor the folder wait for the folder to empty then the script should rerun and spit out
the next folder that contains files and so on. Lastly when all folders are empty the script should return NULL or something like that so I can tell the RB to quit.
The problem with the monitor folder object is that you cant link an object before it.
Ideas? I thought about running the script in another RB and calling the monitor RB but don't know how to pass values (folder path that contains files) to the monitor folder object. Also, I want the RB to only run when I trigger is and stop when all
folders are empty.

Configure a Loop until "File exists equals false":

Pagefile exclusion for VHDs is not functional System Center DPM 2012 R2

The Release Notes for Data Protection Manager in System Center 2012 R2 state that:
Pagefile exclusion for VHDs is not functional
Description: Pagefile exclusion for virtual hard disk files (VHDs) is not functional.
Workaround: None.
I feel silly asking this in the forums, but my mind just can't wrap around the fact that this feature (that was just recently added in DPM 2012 SP1) is broken in the new release of 2012 R2. Does anyone with actual knowledge of the product have any
additional info on this issue? Do we need to wait for a service pack to fix it or are there possibly ANY workarounds or situations where it might be used?

System Center DPM 2012 R2 Issue backing up Exchange 2010

I was previously using System Center DPM 2010 to back up an Exchange 2010 server without any issues. we recently upgraded to DPM 2012 R2 and I followed all of the steps to install it properly on the Exchange Server. However, DPM cannot see the Exchange DB correctly and it is not allowing it run the cleanup (eseutil.exe) on the Exchange Server, leading to space issues. What do I need to do to resolve this issue?

System center sql 2012 remote or local install

Guys I'm testing System Center 2012 R2 right now I plan on installing configuration manager for starters. I would like to ask you guys did you install your sql server instance locally for System Center or do you have a remote SQL server installation that
System Center is using are there any pros for installing a local instance over a remote one? Also I was reading somewhere that Sytem Center comes with an SQL server license I always assumed that it would come with SQL Server express and not full blown
SQL Server. So with that said does System Center incluse a full blown SQL Server license?

In test environment, typically SQL can be on local instance. However in production environment, you can place SQL on remote as when collocated the site server supports a maximum of 50,000 Clients, and if database server is installed on
a Remote server, the Site-Server supports up to 100,000 Clients.
In System Center 2012, along with any edition of Server Management License you get a run-time instance of SQL Server Standard edition when utilized for the SQL engine used by the System Center components.

Orchestrator 2012 SP1 Runbook Redundnacy

Currently we have a very basic environment, but we need to look at redundancy. If I introduce a new runbook server into our environment in the event that one runbook server becomes unavailable,
do the runbooks:
1.) Continue to run?
2.) Will they "failover" to the other runbook server
3.) Will they "Failback"?
Right now I am thinking about creating a custom integration pack to query the runbook servers and select one at random and set the runbook to run on that server, but to avoid unnecessary work
I would like to find out if simply installing another server will automatically provide this.

Runbook Server work in fail-over mode: If the Runbook Server with active Rubooks will have no connection to Orchestrator database the other one(s) will start this Runbooks from beginning.
There is no "failback" unless the Runbook is restarted.

System Center Orchestrator connectivity with System Center Operations Manager

Hi,
I am trying to connect my SCORCH setup with my SCOM server. When I enter the SCOM Server Name or IP Address, Domain, USer id, and Password in the Connectivity Prompt of SCORCH, and click on TEST Connections, I see a red error prompt with the labl error
and nothing written on it. the user id has rights on both SCORCH and SCOM environment.
Is there a log file that I can refer to validate the exact error that is happening when I connectin SCORCH with SCOM?

Orchestrator 2012 vSphere Integration Pack Exception

We are using System Center Orchestrator 2012 with the vSphere Integration Pack. For reference, we are running vSphere 5. All of the runbook activities are working except the "Get VM List" activity. Any time we attempt to open the properties page or set the
configuration, we receive the following error.
Details: Object reference not set to an instance of an object.
Exception: IntegrationPackException

your AD is a datacenter or for example 4 x Windows Server Standard with 8 VMs than, you need to purchase the System Center datacenter SML.
the System Center SML is licensed per physical Server: one license up to two physical CPUs. if you have for 2 physical Hosts with 2 CPUs each, you need to purchase two System Center licenses.
the only difference between Standard and datacenter is only about virtualization rights

Tape Consumption/Utilization on System Center Data Protection Manager 2012

Hi Guys,
I have setup System Center DPM 2012 for Exchange 2010 Backup, the tape library that i am using is Dell TL4000 with 45 Slots and two LTO 5 Drives. The total size of Exchange backup is 33 TB but the no. of tapes used to backup are 16 LTO5 tapes.
The native capacity of LTO5 tape is 1.5 TB and the compressed capacity is 3 TB.
The total no. of tapes used for exchange backup are 16 therefore 16 Tapes x 3 TB = 48 TB where as the total backup size of exchange is 33 TB which means there is a complete wastage of 15 TB tape storage.
Does any one know if its a known issue on DPM? Is there a way where i can tweak the tape utilization? Any help will be much appreciated.

Hi,
The LTO5 compression ratio is usually an average of 2:1 depending on the data being written. Some data is not compressible like .jpg .bmp etc. so it's not predictable ahead of time how much data will fill a tape. The fact
that you are achieving greater than native capacity shows that compression is enabled and working.
Besides the data not compressing as much as you like, the only other explanation for not getting more data on a tape is it may not be filling before we either get an EOM from the drive, or we get an IO error that DPM is going to convert to an EOM.
To see if it is the latter check the DPMRA Errlogs for the error code 0x8007045D.
Open an Administrative command prompt.
CD C:\Program file\Microsoft System Center 2012\DPM\DPM\Temp
Find /I "0x8007045D" DPMRA*.Errlog >C:\temp\DPMRA0x8007045D.TXT
Notepad C:\temp\DPMRA0x8007045D.TXT
