coloured cells appear without a gap between them.
Thanks

Just zero the cellpadding in the previous half-correct
suggestion.

    without it affecting the main page background image?
    thanks

    Use CSS -
    td.special { background-image:url(foo.gif); }
    will style this table cell only -
    <td class="special">

  • Can you select the row in a table view without highlighting the cell?

    I have an an app with a table view which is presented modally. Cell selections in this table are saved in the parent controller so that they can be reselected if the table is reloaded after being dismissed.
    When the cell is first highlighted, I want to momentarily highlight the cell and have it fade out, which I do by unselecting the cell from the modal view controller's didSelectRowAtIndexPath by calling setSelected:animated on the table view cell.
    However, when I present the table view controller modally again and want to display the previously selected cell as selected, I don't want the cell background to be highlighted, and I'm having trouble doing this.
    In order to make sure the table view knows the cell is selected, I am calling selectRowAtIndexPath. I need to make sure the cell is selected so that I can set/unset the cell's accessoryType. However, this has the sideeffect of highlighting the cell too, which looks weird and confusing to the user.
    I've tried things like temporarily setting the cell's selection style to none, but while that stops the cell background from highlighting? I've tried setting the selectionStyle to UITableViewSelectionStyleNone, but while this prevents the cell background from highlighting, the cell text still changes to white, so it the text is invisible against the white background.
    Is there a easy way of setting a cell to selected in the table view without also changing the highlight and text colour of the actual cell? Immediately setting the cell to be unselected still makes the highlight visible for a split second.

    I tried that, but setting the highlighted property doesn't seem to affect it.
    I figured out how what I was doing wrong though. I was setting selection style UITableViewSelectionStyleNone, selecting the cell, then setting the selection style back to whatever it had previously been. This causes the background not to draw highlighted, but the text and accessory type to still draw highlighted.
    In order to fix this, I moved the code to set the cell selection style to whatever it had previously been to the didDeselectRowAtIndexPath method.

  • Possible to hit enter on table cell & retrieve data without selecting line?

    Hi All,
    We're using ECC6.  I  I have a situation where the user wants to be able to hit a cell in a table which will then fire a report and pass the contents of that cell to the report.
    So far I have been only able to get this working when the row is highlighted, I can easily pick up the values from the lead selection.  But the user does not want to have to highlight a row every time to run the report.  The user just wants to hit return a cell and for the report to be updated with the value in that cell.
    So, I'm just wondering if it is possible to hit enter in any table cell and retrive the data without highlighting the row?
    Many thanks in advance,
    Liz.

    Hi,
    You want complete row data or perticular cell data??
    Basic q's, without selecting a row how can we get data? without selecting means you get complete data on table,
    In that case which data you have to pass to report?
    Or if you dont want to select data means, create one more field of type button. so in thins button action get that row data
    and call report from here itself.
    Cheers,
    Kris.

  • JavaFX2.2 TableView:How to make a table cell be edited without mouse click?

    Hi,
    I've encounter a problem with editable table cells. I'm using the TableView in my project just as the Tutorial on Oracle (http://docs.oracle.com/javafx/2/ui_controls/table-view.htm).
    According to it, I use the setCellFactory method to reimplement the table cell as a text field with the help of the TextFieldTableCell class. However, I found the steps is a little complex to get to the point where the cell can be edited:
    1.Let the table cell be selected by using direction key.
    2.Press “Enter” to converts the cell to a text filed so that it is ready to be edited.
    3.Clicking in the text field allows the contents to be edited
    The problem is step 3, that you must use the mouse to click before you can input data in this table cell.
    So, is there a solution to avoid step 3? That is the text field allows the data inputting when you just press “Enter”(step 2).
    By the way, English is not my native language. Hope I have made myself clear.

    Hi,
    You need to pass the focus to the text field when the startEditing event occurs. In the class that extends TableCell you use for cellFactory:
    public void startEdit() {
    super.startEdit();
    createTextField();
    setText(null);
    setGraphic(textField);
    * put focus on the textfield so user can directly typed on it
    Runnable r = new Runnable() {
    @Override
    public void run() {
    getGraphic().requestFocus();
    Platform.runLater(r);
    }

  • Adding a link to a table cell question

    ho can i add a link into a cell containing an image without increasing its size?
    I am trying to make a link out of a table cell containing an image.
    the problem is that the highlight frame around the image increases the size of the cell (and i cant have this since i imported all the small table images from photoshop wich constitute a big image).

    no i am just exporting fragmented gif images from photoshop that i want to assemble again in dreamweaver through a table.
    when i apply the link to one of the cells, dreamweaver increases its size (by 1 or 2 pixels) wich causes border gaps between cells and i cant have that.
    i am using this cell as a button. all i want is to apply a link to a cell containing an image without modifying its size.

  • Looping table cells....... is it possible to loop more than one table cell?

    Hi there
    Hope everyone is doing well
    I have been using the addt looper wizard and it works great.....
    I usually put all the things I want to loop into one cell.... then select all the things and apply the looper.... which works fine....
    But..... it is hard to align all the elements I want to loop
    I have been using transparent gif images to space the loops evenly but when I space dynamic taxt on top of each other there is a large gap.....
    It is a nightmare to get it looking even
    Ok say I want to loop this.....
    A thumbnail
    Product ID
    Price
    It would look like this
    A thumbnail
    Product ID
    Price
    Because I cannot reduce the space between the lines......
    So I would like to place all the different elements in separate table cells and loop them..... I have tried and get really strange results....
    When you look at most online shops, their product pages have a thumbnail image the id, price, description, etc.... all spaced evenly.... and looks like is looped...... So.... how do I do it?
    Is there any easier way to align the things I want to loop?
    Any help would be great

    Hi there
    I seem to have figured out how to loop cells....
    Should have thought of it earliar but anyway
    Was easy....
    Just create a looped (repeat) region and insert a table into the region and edit the table to align all the looped elements easily....
    Cool

  • Table cell renderer works with any L&F, but not with Windows

    Hi,
    I created a table cell renderer / editor for a combobox in a table cell. This works all as expected, but if the Look&Feel is com.sun.java.swing.plaf.windows.WindowsLookAndFeel, which is the system L&F on Vista, the selected values in the combobox are not shown in the cell after loosing focus. Metal LF and Motif LF work, and a third party one "TinyLF" works as well.
    Can anyone imagine why, and what needs to be changed to get a cross platform consistency without Metal LF?

            p.add(t, BorderLayout.CENTER);
            p.pack();
            p.setVisible(true);
    }

    1) Your custom cell renderer does nothing extra, so you can depend on default renderer.
    2) Instead of extending JLabel and implementing TableCellReneder, you should extend DefaultTableCellRenderer and override its get renderer method because DefaultTableCellRenderer itself extends JLabel and aditionally it does some optimizations etc., which you can miss if you implement your own renderer.
    3) If you set foreground and background color in last else statement also, then you can see the values correctly in windows L&F as well.
    Thanks!

  • IPhone UISwitch not appearing correctly in table cells

    I have a table cell with a UISwitch attached to it.
    When you click the switch it works (but not without a bit of code to make it switch when the word 'on' and 'off' are actually clicked) but when the table cell itself is clicked the switch distorts like shown here:
    http://img35.imageshack.us/img35/6510/picture1df.png
    what is the correct way to make a table cell with a UISwitch?

    The code you posted looks like it should work on 3.0 just fine.
    I've tried a custom table cell and it did the same thing
    Assuming your custom subclass was built and used correctly, the above tells me something is definitely wrong in the cell's environment.
    Perhaps it's something to do with the selecting of the row method?
    Well that's certainly the first place to look. The delegate method you posted looks kinky. I would comment out that method, then go back to the solutions that didn't work in the past and see if your tableView:didSelectRowAtIndexPath: hasn't been the problem all along.
    In any case I would get rid of the deselect message in tableView:didSelectRowAtIndexPath:. What are you trying to accomplish there? If you simply want to disable all selections, you can just code tableView.allowsSelection=NO during setup. If you want to know the user's selection but don't want the cell to actually become selected, try something like this in the delegate:
    - (NSIndexPath *)tableView:(UITableView *)tableView willSelectRowAtIndexPath:(NSIndexPath *)indexPath {
    return nil;
    If you want the cell to actually become selected, but don't want its appearance to change, try cell.selectionStyle=UITableViewCellSelectionStyleNone in tableView:cellForRowAtIndexPath:.
    If tableView:didSelectRowAtIndexPath: turns out not to have been the problem, we'll need to look at the rest of your table view code. I've found the kind of problem you described is easily isolated once you have faith in some assumptions. In this case you just need to believe that both the subclass solution and the code in UICatalog will allow a UISwitch to display and operate perfectly. Once you believe that, you'll pay more attention to the rest of you code.
    One excellent way to gain faith in the basic structure is to start a fresh testbed and, for example, use code similar to UICatalog to bring up a table view with a UISwitch in one or more cells. Once you see how easy it is to make that work, you can start backing in some of your more creative init, delegate and/or data source methods until you break the testbed.

  • How do i insert a picture into a table cell

    hi
    i am trying to insert a photo into a table cell in Pages of iPad.
    how do i do that?
    thanks

    I have this question too. It is very important for me to insert pictures into tables in order to complete my lab reports. This feature needs to be added; the software is useless without it. It is things like this that make me regret Apple purchases.

    I'm assuming you also want the renderer to display multiple lines? if so, make a class that extends JTextArea and that implements the TableCellEditor and TableCellRenderer interfaces, then set instances of this as the editor and renderer for the TableColumn in question. The implementation of most of the methods in these interfaces is trivial, often just this.setBackground() based on the table.getSelectionBackground() or table.getBackground(), a this.setText() based on the value passed in, then just a 'return this'.
    You might want to make an abstract class which implements these interfaces for you, and which delegates to a simple abstract method that you override to return the renderer/editor component.
    Note that you must use two instances of the class you make, one for the renderer and one for the editor, since it must be able to be able to render the remainder of the table's cells without interfering with the JTextArea performing the editing. (alternatively you could make two classes that extend JTextArea, each just implementing one of the interfaces, but this is more effort I think.) Also note that you must increase the table's row height to get more than one row visible.

  • Robohelp HTML 9 hyperlinks in table cells help

    Hi,
    I'm creating a table in robohelp html 9 and adding hyperlinks in the table cells. If the hyperlink is the first word in that cell robohelp is adding styling code to the link eg <td><a href="#" style="color: #0000ff; text-decoration: underline; ">test</a></td>.
    If I add a link to the second word in a table cell the styling does not appear or even if I add a space before the link the code does not appear eg <td>&#160;<a href="#">test</a> </td>.
    The code appears when I flick between design and HTML views but it does not make any difference in which view I create the link.
    No matter how many times I delete this code is keeps coming back. Can  anyone please help me? Is there some default that gives this the styling  code?Does anyone else get this issue?
    A table with the different examples is below. It was created in design view by clicking table>insert table>OK. Links added by clicking the insert hyperlink button.
    <table style="border-collapse: separate; border-collapse: separate;" cellspacing="0"
             width="33.333%" border="1">
        <col style="width: 100%;" />
        <tr>
            <td><a href="#" style="color: #0000ff; text-decoration: underline; ">test
             that has the added code</a></td>
        </tr>
        <tr>
            <td>&#160;<a href="#">test with space in front of link</a> </td>
        </tr>
        <tr>
            <td><a href="#" style="color: #0000ff; text-decoration: underline; ">test</a></td>
        </tr>
        <tr>
            <td>A <a href="#">test</a> </td>
        </tr>
    </table>
    Thanks in advanced

    I have the same problem with those stupid links in tables - I've been working on this for HOURS and HOURS...... Based on previous experience, I assumed it must only be me and an ill-formed stylesheet. The table/link issue just came to my attention because I am in the process of changing styles/formats to a new company standard (new link color) and thought I really screwed my CSS up as I was changing things!
    My only workaround thusfar has been to rewrite some data in the tables so that text will precede the link (yes, I did).  And where I just couldn't do that, I resigned myself to the problem and forced a different color on the links (changing the #0000ff).  One plus was that RH didn't rewrite the color code once it was changed manually..... but then I realized later that I didn't consider the hover color when I did this, so I now have to go back and correct them.
    So glad to find your post...........
    I played with the idea of adding hidden text, but was worried that the problem was really a result of an issue with my CSS and doing that wasn't the proper way to fix it.   So, without guilt, I took Rick's suggestion and added an invisible dot/period at the beginning of every link in a table, when that link is the first or only content in the td.  Did the trick!  Now the links assume my declared css style!
    I submitted a bug report.......
    Thank you!!!

  • How do you do custom table cell in IB?

    I want to avoid writing those custom table cells because its really a hassle. I see that in IB there are all the controls I need to make the cell (label, sliders etc) and there is even a table view, but I just cant figure out how to create that cell with all the controls in it and attach that cell to a tableview. They dont seem to integrate well in IB at all! Any one with any ideas?

    I'm a car dealer and I created the bill of sale for my dealership in a Numbers spread sheet. I want to be able to use my iPad mini w retina for customers to sign directly on my iPad then print out the BoS with signatures on it so I can make transactions easier for my customers in case I have to meet them somewhere instead of my office. Then I would have the ability to send them another copy if they happen to lose theirs without digging thru my files to find the hard copy and scan and send it to them.
    Thanks

  • Custom table cell

    hi
    in my project i created some custom-table-cell (classes) manually without interface builder.
    now my question is; is it possible to create custom-table-cells with interface builder for dynamicly create instances?
    i would like to have a nib file where a customtablecell is placed and defined which i can later create instances from.
    i have no idea how i can do this.
    thanks.

    Make a XIB where the File's owner is a UIViewController and the only other thing in it is your custom table cell and it is hooked up to the file's owner as the view. Then you can do:
    UIViewController* c = [[UIViewController alloc] initWithNibName:@"CustomCell" bundle:nil];
    cell = (CustomCell *)c.view;
