Table containing serial number of a material

Hi Friends,
I have activated serial number for materials. When I do GR, i give serial number for the material. I just want to know in which Table does these serial numbers specific to one material is stored. Information for the serial number for each specific materials is required for a developed report. Can anybody please let me know the table name where I can find the serial number for a specific material?

Finding goods receipt document and serial number of a material

Hello,
The issue is that I look for an easier way of finding serial numbers which are entered while posting goods receipt of the goods. Then the material is put away into a storage bin. Each sales order position has a project element which is assigned to a sales order position (not to a serial number). When warehouse employee needs to pick the goods in the outbound delivery, he has to type in serial numbers. In MB51, it is possible to search for the GR material document but it can be quite difficult to find it too.
Does anyone have an idea how to find the GR document of a sales order position? Do I need to build up a query with tables containing information about GR, outbound delivery and project element ?

Serial number of a material

Hi,
I need serial numbers where it should be combination of material,plant and storage location.
I am checking in EQUI table and it shows no serial numbers available..
Do I need to check other then EQUI table..?
Any input would be appreciated.

Creating more than one serial number for a material upon Goods Receipt

I am trying to configure the system to create more than one serial number automatically for a material and have the equipment record created at the same time with the same number as the serial number. For example using MB1C, receiving a material for a quantity of 2, the Maintain Serial number pop up box appears, selecting the 'Create serial number automatically' , I receive an error message ' Number of numbers to be assigned must be 1
    Message no. NR030
Can someone help me with this issue.

I have tried MIGO and get the same error. The Plant data/stor 2. tab of the material master for this particular material is set as follows
                                                                                Serial no. profile   NS01 SerLevel   1 Keep equipment number and serial number synchronous.
Would there be configuration missing?

How Serial Number of the material can be used to track the current status

Hi,
I want to know how we can use the serial number of the materail to track its current status. i;e i just want to enter serial number and system should display its current status, whether the materail has been returned, delivered etc.
Is it possible to know.

We use serial numbers for tracking purpose. We can track at the document level
Function Module GET_SERNOS_OF_DOCUMENT can be used to retrieve serial numbers corresponding to any of the following documents.
1. Delivery
2. Sales order
3. Material document
4. Inspection lot
5. production order
6. Internal Handling unit
7. Physical Inventory document
TO see the status of Serial no. you can use Tcode IQ02 - Where the status will be To Stock , From Stock, To Customer, From Customer, Delete Assign to HU, Delete Inv Assign.

I am able to generate the serial number numerically material wise using IQ01 t code. But my client requirement is alphanumeric serial numbers. Is it possible in standard SAP. Even though some threads are there regarding this issue, i am not able to understand clearly. Please guide me with a detailed explanation.

Serial numbers can be auto generated or created manually; the length of single number is limited to 18
characters. SAP supports both numeric and alphanumeric serial numbers. Serial number master record
can be created directly prior to business transaction, this would appropriate to have serial numbers already
in system so these can be assigned during business process. Serial numbers can be created individually
(IQ01) or several at the time (IQ04), depending on transaction chosen.
Serial number masters contents following information
->Status information: System status of gives idea about current status and availability of serial
number. User status also used for precise control over serial number movement.
-> Stock information: This shows the plant and storage location of material, also the stock type of
material like unrestricted, quality or blocked stock.
-> Serial number history: The history tells about the past business process with serial number.
Serial numbers are also categorized on broader level like Machine, Customer equipment etc. These categories mainly serve the reporting purpose.
Maintain all the mandatory information and the issue should be solved

Internal table containing any number of fields.

I had a requirement where in i have to create a generalised Function module for downloading the excel sheet to presentation server with some non editable fields.
Here i need to pass an internal table contaning different fields each time with different data in it to be saved in the excel sheet in the presentation server.
But iam unable to understand how to declare the import parameter i.e. an internal table which can accept different data whenever it is called and display the same in the output.
Please help me with the fields in the internal table and the corresponding types in the internal table.

Serial Number for material document number

Can any body tel me where Serial number stores for particular Material Document number.
When user creation/posting MB11 he will enter serial numbers for material in material document.
I already searched the forum. Unluckily i didn't received any related information.

I Tried looking standard table which contain Material number, Serial number, Equipment and Material Document but there isn't any.
So I went into SQVI and join two tables, MSEG and OBJK. There I manually draged the MATNR from MSEG Table to OBJK and then selected the fields like Materials Number, Plant, Material Document, Mov Type etc and from other table I selected Material Number plus Serial Number, Equipment (chose your required filters) and then executed and it shows the required records correctly.
Only issue it had was that if you try thousands of records e.g. Materials it went though and brought resukts and some time it dumped. But it fulfilled my needs successfully.

in MIGO the Serial number field and Structure are GOSERIAL-SERIALNO.but i was not able to find the Actucal Field name and table where i can get the values based on PO and Asset Number's?

Hello,
I'm looking at the same problem here. I found the table SER03 in which you can enter the the material document. This returns 1 line in this table and from this one you need the OBKNR element
You can copy this data and paste it into table OBJK element OBKNR and this returns all serialnumbers for the relevant material document.
My problem is that i can't get these items on the sapscript. (WESCHEINVERS 1,2 or 3)

SERIAL NUMBER is stored in the table SERI
enter the Material number and get the SERNR from SERI which is the serial number for that material.

Cancel insp.lot for batch material with serial number?

We have a problem with an inspection lot....
A few months ago we made a goods receipt for batch material... it ended up in Q- stock.
The weeks went by and the material was changed ito a serial number material... that process works fine...
But now we want to scrap the material that is batch-handeled ... the inspection dont want to let go.. it want serial numbers... even if I create serial numbers for this the inspection lot
dont let me register any numbers.. So I cant cancel/delete it... And after all I just want to scrap the batch...
Can someone help me?

if stock of that material with serial numbers exist, then scrap that stock and disable the serial number for the material by deleting the serial number profile in the work scheduling view of the material master.
then try cancelling the inspection lot. After cancelling the inspection lot, activate the serial number for that material again and bring back the scrapped stock into the unrestricted use.
Note: please advice the users not to post any stock for that material till you complete this or else block the posting t.code for all the users.

Serial Number creation for a material with stock type

I am not able to create the serial number for a material which should have valuation type, plant and storage location using the function module ITOB_SERIALNO_CREATE_SINGLE.
There is no export or changing parametre for this function module for Valuation type(EQBS-LBBSA),
Plant(EQBS-B_WERK) and
Storage Location(EQBS-B_LAGER)
Can any one suggest me the BAPI or function module to create a serial number for a material with valudation type, plant and storage location rather tan going for BDC to transaction code IQ01.
(Note: We can create the serial number with valuation type manually using the transaction code "IQ01" for agiven material.)
For suitable answers would be rewarded.

I have the solution below.
- Don't change Serial no. profile
- Goods issue all stock with mvt 201 or 261 into temporary cost object and note your text.
- Change Serial no. profile in material master
- Goods receipt all stock (You may ref. material doc.) and you need to input serial number for all materials.
