When we start the laptop, it takes so much time to boot..

You can try the steps mentioned below:
Step 01. Click on the Start Button and Click on "Run"
Step 02. Please type "temp" [Without Quotes] and press Enter
Step 03. In the window which comes up, we need to delete all the files and folders
Note: You cannot delete 2 or 3 files or folders, you can skip that
Step 04. Again click on the Start Button and Click on "Run"
Step 05. Please type "%temp%" [Without Quotes] and press Enter
Step 06. In the window which comes up, we need to delete all the files and folders
Note: You cannot delete 2 or 3 files or folders, you can skip that
Step 07. Click on the Start Button and Click on "Run"
Step 08. Please type "prefetch"[Without Quotes] and press Enter
Step 09. In the window which comes up, we need to delete all the files and folders
Note: You cannot delete 2 or 3 files or folders, you can skip that
Step 10. On your desktop, Please right click on "Recycle Bin" Icon and Click on Empty Recycle Bin.
Click Yes if you get a prompt to delete everything permanently
Step 10. Click on the Start Button and open the Control Panel
Step 11. Please open "Programs and Features / Add or Remove Programs"
Step 12. Please uninstall if you have any unwanted Softwares from here
Note: If your Notebook prompts to reboot/restart when you uninstall, go ahead with it.
Once your Notebook comes back please continue the troubleshooting again
Step 13. Please Turn OFF the Notebook
Step 14. Un-plug the Power/AC Adapter and also remove the battery too
Step 15. Press and Hold the Power Button on the Notebook for a full minute
Step 16. Now let's re-insert the battery back in and plug back the Power/AC Adapter
Step 17. Start the Notebook and Now reset the Internet Explorer browser

  • T400 takes too much time to start or shutdown

    I got a lenovo thinkpad T400, everything seems to be fine but lot of issues.
    1. It takes too much time to start or shutdown (I purchased 2GB turbo memory along with the system for $50, but no use).My  system is slower than 2.2 GHz(mine is 2.53GHz)
    2.Fingerprint Reader: When I tried to login using my fingerprint reader it gives an error message "computer is locked only authorized user can login", when we need to type in Password every time, why Finger print reader is used ?
    Connectivity: All laptops around can see all networks but not mine, my system couldn't see any networks. Why ?
    4. System strucks suddenly staying irresponsible for while.!!!!!!!!!!!
    When I tried to talk to CSR, they instructed to format my system using the CD's which they are going to send.When I tried to do so; an error message occurred when I inserted second CD ,that "please insert suitable/matchable(don't remember exactly) CD.
    I have other question; the CD's sent by lenovo are not AUTO PLAYABLE ?

    what if you press your blue thinkvantage button during startup? does it take you to the recovery partition?

    1) Open disk utility and verify your disk. Sometimes, slow boot up can be a sign of disk damage (either due to file system corruption or physical failure).
    2) More often, third party software drivers and launch agents can cause this to happen. Please run this program and post the output:

  • Problem : SELECT from LTAP table takes much time (Sort in Database layer)

    Im having problem with this select statement. It takes much time just to get single record.
    The problem is with accessing the LTAP table and the ORDER BY DESCENDING statement.
    The objective of this select statement is to get the non blocked storage bin which is used by latest transfer order number.
    If the latest transfer order no storage bin is blocked, then it will loop and get the 2nd latest transfer order no's storage bin and
    checks whether it blocked or not. It will keep looping.
    The secondary index has been created but the it still taking much time (3 minutes for 10K records in LTAP)

    This is not true. Together with the ORDER BY the UP TO 1 ROWS does not read 1 record but prepare all records, orders them and return one record, i.e. the largest in sort order.
    You must check what you need, either you need the largest record, then this can be your only possible solution.
    If you need only one recoird then the ORDER BY does not make sense.
    If you need the single largest record, then sometimes the aggregate function MAX can be an alternative.
    I did not look at the index support, this can always be a problem.

    i made integration between the PCM and sharepoint 2010 and make migration from the file system to sharepoint.
    the sharepoint database reach 355GB
    after that unfortunately, when i try to open large pdf attachment through PCM(Primavera Contract Managmnet) it take much time then whan was opened from the file server.
    i made everthing upgrde the RAM and processor but the problem still exists.

    we start store attachment on 2007. all of these files are migrated to sharepoint 2010 now on the staging enviroment.
    but, we faced the performance issue as mentioned above.
    the large files (begin 5MB) take a lot of time to open through the PCM

    I actually found the answer I was looking for through a couple of URL's below:
    1. This first URL walked me through everything I needed to do find the actual warning using the Event Viewer and then the fix. There are two command for the suggested fix (remove and addlocal registry items) but since I don't think MS Office 2010 student
    edition came with VBA support (I could be wrong), I only did the REMOVE command. After that, launching my Office apps now only takes  a couple of seconds instead of 2-3 minutes. Here's the first URL (http):

    I've finally able to solve the problem. The problem was due to start up item. There were 2 trial application (expired long ago) in the folder. After clearing the application, start up and shut down are fast as light.
    I think I've "awaken" the start up application after "IceClean" as IceClean has deleted their log file or something like that and therefore the applications have to run again.
    In order to be fair to IceClean, it is my fault to be blamed.

    I have created a database in oracle9i by following manual steps. Every thing was created successfully and am able to start the database and shutdown also.
    but the problem is while giving the startup command it takes more time to start the database and the same during the shutdown. So anyone help me..

    problem is while giving the startup command it takes more time to start the >database and the same during the shutdownHow have you compared? Could it be O/S resources, installation of additional software; you have not mentioned the O/S and complete version of your database.

    I have a MacBook Pro, and some weeks ago, it takes much time for shutdown.
    I've tried to install the 10.5.2 update, but nothing solves.
    My mac takes for shutdown 1 min & 30 seconds every time. I don't understand. Why?

    Now, my MacBook Pro takes only 35 seconds for shutdown. I think is better than yesterdey, but is more than the 5 seconds that you described in the last post. Is 35 seconds a good time? In this 35 seconds, I only can see the background image, without icons and without the finder menu bar. After 35 seconds, Mac is off.
    How can I disable iDisk sync? I have a free mac Account, but is expired and then I can't use iDisk, only the name in iChat. But, is iDisk enabled?

    It's ellapse time with no other application running
    between this method call and tray icon appearing int
    the taskbar.
    Now I am not sure I understand the question.
    To time how long a method call takes you must time the method - not just the code that the method runs in. And you need to use a timer and not just guess about it.

  • The Application Takes long time to Start

    We ar eon Unix->64 Bit-> Essbase 11.1.1.3.
    Problem Description : The application is taking long to start up. around 5 to 6 minutes. This is very first time it is happening.
    There were no specific changes done to the application in the recent releases.
    I have tried all options 1. Compacating outline, 2. Purging the application log etc. all other applications respond good on this host except this. Usually any application should not take more than 1 to 2 minutes to start up.
    There are no specific errors or XCP files recorded in the logs and folders.

    I know i have posted this thread sometime back and later I had to jump on a New release, so did not get time to check your inputs.
    Well I am back on this issue again. I have been working on various option to get this issues solved " start of App takes long time"
    Here are some Details. We are on SunOs 64 Bit, has 12CU with dual core,  with Essbase 11.1.1.3 running on it. This is an ASO application and has just 7 dimensions, Out of which the ORGANIZATION Dimension is pretty huge with Multiple Hierarchies enabled ( Both Stored and Dynamic ) and has more than 20,00,000 members including the alternate hierarchies ( Shared members)
    I did a smoke test by building dimension by dimension the app was startiung up in just *40* seconds. and when i reached the ORG dimension and added more than 70,000 memebrs . there i fall sick. the app now gets back to its old issue ( Takes more than 10 mainutes to start).
