Hi ,
I would like to know mainly three questions regarding the topic 'Talent Group'.
1. How to create a talent Group in the backend system?
2. Let know the transaction or report that generates the list of talent groups existing?
3. Let know the transaction or report that generates the list of talents in a particular talent group?

Hello,
Talent Groups are not meant to be created in the backend. The new SAP functionality with ABAP WebDynpro requires that you have portal and then you can deploy the relevant business package. The business package which you need to be able to create Talent Groups is 'Talent Management Specialist 1.40'. The backend WebDynpro application used is to create or edit HRTMC_TALENT_GROUP and there is a portal iView available for this. You will use this to create the required groups and they will be saved in 7420. This application will list all groups which have been created and you have been assigned as part of the support team. From the list you can edit, copy an exisiting group to create a new group, create new or delete a group. As a follow up to a review meeting you can then assign employees to the various available groups. Each group created is available in its own tab. When you click on the respective tab for each group, the list of asigned candidates will be displayed with theor current status.
Eahc assignment to talent groups is always given together with validity. When you assign a talent to group, a new relationship '743' is created between the CP and TB objects. If then you want reports, you can do ABAP reports or queries to list the information from the infotypes with the required information based on requirement.

Talent Review Meetings - Talent Mgt

Dear All,
We are on ECC6, Eph4
When we click onto Talent Review meetings - Add participants getting an error message " The specified configuration is incorrect". All are intact in configuration. Is that a support pack issue. Because we are on support package 28. If so is there an OSS note applicable. Below is the screen shot on same.
Would appreciate your inputs / suggestions.

Hi Luke,
As suggested by you we did run the functional module HRTMC_SEARCH_OBJECTS, it even returned the values. No error encountered. But while adding participants in TRM " The specified configuration is incorrect".

Talent Management - Enhancing talent search

Hi Leah,
Chris' blog sure is great! I hope the below information is helpful.
1) As far as I am aware you need to extend the Advanced Search so that you can use the same field again.
2) I can't help here unfortuantely
3) TREX uses one-to-one relationships when returning results so you will only ever get 1 (or none if there are multiple records!) result. This is set to change in TREX 7.2 from what I understand.

We meet again! The Advanced search should be available by default if TREX is configured and connected correctly. If the standard search works then TREX is connected correctly.
You could try SAP note 1550930 (Search: Various corrections for the advanced search). There are lots of TMC Search SAP notes under PA-TM so I would do a search there. These notes might also be worth implementing:

BF HCM_TMC_CI_1 & ERP_ENTERPRISESEARCH

Hello experts,
I've just receive a request from business about if we have the Business functions BF HCM_TMC_CI_1 & ERP_ENTERPRISESEARCHin the HR system.
So I went into my HR system (ECC 6.0 with EHP4) and I can see in transaction SFW5 that the 2 BF are there, they are incative bu they are there.
From the reading I also found out that TREX 7.10 is a requisit, and that's ok we also have it in 7.10 version
And also from what I understand this will work through the portal right ? my SAP Portal is a 7.0 where :
SAP_ESS is in SP12
SAP_MSS is in SP12
KMC is in SP20
BP_ERP* is in SP12
The rest of the core components is in SP20
Question 1, I'm I right when I think that this Talent Managemnet and Talent Develpoment will run through the portal ?
Question 2, if yes, is my portal at the right level or does it need some upgrade or components patched.

I'm not 100% sure I'm answering your question, but from a portal perspective, you'll need the following three business packages:
1) Business Package for Talent Management Specialist 1.4
2) Manager - Business Package for Manager Self-Service 1.4
3 Employee - Business Package for Employee Self-Service 1.4
You're largely correct that the Talent Management module is portal driven. It's built primarily with Web Dynpro ABAP code, but users will definitely be accessing the functionality through the portal.
There's a good release notes document available on Service Marketplace if you search for the business function HCM_TMC_CI_1

Talent assignment talent groups

Hello Guru's
Our customer wants to use Talent groups in a way that is slightly different as usual. Example: A talent will be assigned as approved by default to Talent group A for 3 monts. The duration is given in the duration start date and end date. However with the start of this assignment the talent becomes part of a flow in which the talent shall loop through talent groups in a chronological way. This talent will be transfered from group A to B and from B to C.
However the effective end date from the assignment can differ from the end duration date, if we try to edit the talent assignment and change the duration end date the system prompts an error warning: In a assignment you can not change start and end date. So in our thoughts we would make some custom fields to include in the HRP7400 table in which the effective start and end date can be filled by the user.
Our question is how to delimit a approved assignment from a talent to a talent group? Can we work arround the SAP error?

Have you searched OSS within application area PA-TM for "talent group".
There are several corrections but this one caught my eye for your issue with end dates:

P.s. I note that in STVN you can't edit the assignment end date in the application - field is not available for editing (as opposed to any error messages).

Talent Group Nominations

Hello Experts,
Have a question regarding the talent group nominations in the assessments vs the Talent Review Meetings (Talent Mgmt and Development Ehp6).
Via MSS an employee is nominated for a Talent Group "Developer"- stauts shows as Developer (Nominated)
Talent Review Meeting is set up where the talent is placed in the calibration grid based on PMP/POT scores.
Talent is moved in the grid to a Critical Talent and the "Save" button is hit and the Approve button is hit. - The icon changed from the Nominated Icon to the "Approved Icon" however when you click on the details the status still says "Nominated".
The TRM status is changed to "Complete". The PMP/POT values update however the Talent Group for the TMS (Talent Information) still shows Nominated. In MSS Talent Info in the Talent Group by the employee it says "Nominated" however in the Talent Overview detail under the employee name the status still says "Nominated".
When does the talent group nomination from the TRM get displayed to the "Approved" status? I know that the TMS can approve Talent Group nominations under the Talent Group functionality however I have the follow-up activity HRTMC_RM_FOLLOWUP_TALENT_GROUP where the
it is supposed to provide the columns Talent Group and Status for the follow-up list and activates the relevant pushbutton however those pushbuttons aren't appearing on the follow-up tab.
Any clarification would be helpful !

I checked in the system and it looks like the status are correct. I think the issue here are the BAdIs. Here is what I have configured:
Assign Talent Groups to the Boxes of the Calibration Grid - I have all of my talent groups assigned to the grid.
Define Follow-Up Activities for Talent Review Meetings - the standard is populated with the following :
SAP_PERFORMANCE - Update of Performance Document
SAP_PERFORMANCE_POTENTIAL - Update of Performance Document and Potential Document
SAP_POTENTIAL - Update of Potential Document
SAP_TALENT_GROUP - Approval/Rejection of Talent Group Nominations
BAdI: Activities When Approving Talents in Calibration Grid - HRTMC_RM_CONFIRM_ACTIVITIES is active
BAdI: Follow-Up Activities of Talent Review Meetings - HRTMC_RM_FOLLOWUP_TALENT_GROUP - is active
HRTMC_RM_FOLLOWUP_PERF_POT - is not active and in the Active (Impl) the check box is checked but greyed out. We do not want the appraisal to be updated.
BAdI: Status Change of Talent Review Meeting - we've created a custom BAdI but aren't sure what this BAdI is used for.
Our goal is that I want the Talent Group/Status to show up on the Followup Tab and I when a talent is moved in the TRM grid and the TMS hits "approved" for the talent groups to be approved automatically. Is there a BAdI that we are missing or do we have something active that is conflicting with another BAdI? Right now the automatic approvals arent happening and the Talent Group/status tabs arent showing on the TRM follow-up tab.

Talent management: talent information

Hi gurus,
I've used a day or two trying to locate this issue, can't seem to find anything, so hopefully some of you have experienced this before.
Currently I'm working on what's supposed to display in talent information in portal, and the weird thing is that some employees gives results on all the fields, and some are almost blank. The fields are defined, and new fields are created through BAdI, these works fine. I tried to change the org unit of some persons (into test org unit), to get real PERNR (which is the statement for one of the fields), and not only fictional PERNR from the test persons, here is where the issues starts.
Ref IMG documentation:
"If you want to implement the Talent Management and Talent Development application, a Business Partner (object type BP) object must exist for each of the central persons (object type CP) in your system."
I access transaction SA38, and runs the program HR_SYNC_PERSON. What I've found out, is that persons with IT6 result in a Basic Data error, people without IT6 runs smoothly through, and displays all wanted information. Why is that, how can it be that persons with address data won't work? IT6 uses time constraint 1, and deletion is not a option. How can I solve this?
QUESTION: Have any of you defined XXDEFAULT as a address type (cross client)? IMG-path: SPRO u2013 SAP BP u2013 BP u2013 Basic settings u2013 Address determination u2013 Define address types
- This may solve the issue, but I'm not comfortable doing changes cross client. Hope there are other solutions.
I would really appreciate some help, and please ask if more information is needed.

You cannot search for Talent Group = ''. Try Talent Group = '*' instead.
For the second issue, it looks an issue with the Talent Group names. First, check SAP Note 1555220 - Activation of advanced search for TMS to ensure that you have the prerequisite SAP Notes installed. I would also raise an OSS message as there doesn't appear to be any SAP Notes on the issue.

Talent Management & Succession Planning

As part of the EHP4 functional upgrade of HCM core processes for Talent Management such as Succession Planning or talent development is getting switched on.
Any input on the impact it will have on existing BI reports on succession planning which is based on ehp3 data model.
(The latest talent Management and talent development BI content is available only in the release of EHP5 package)

Hi Dinu,
It sounds like a data issue. SP is probably reading the HRP1001 values but somewhere the data may have been corrupted or an object incorrectly deleted/unassigned. I would just delete the relationship in PP01 if not actual successor is assigned.

How to Delete Development & Potential Form in Talent Management

Hi Guruz,
Please let me know the correct method to delete forms (Development & potential )forms in Talent assessment .
We deleted the forms via PHAP_CATALOG, but they are still visible in Define Forms for Talent Assessment under Talent Assessment, & the system is not allowing to delete it from this node as it gives the below mentioned error:
Appraisal Template was not deleted:
Message no. HRHAP00_TEMPLATE010
Diagnosis
The system may have canceled the deletion for one of the following reasons:
The system cannot delete the element, for example if it is a category group.
The business check found errors.
The element is already released or in history.
The system could not delete the entire structure (one of the above- mentioned reasons could be the cause).
Please let me know what & how to get rid of this problem.

Hi Bharti,
You must first delete the template names from the customizing tables where it is stored (under Talent Assessment node of Talent Management and Talent Development). Then you delete it under PHAP_CATALOG. Unfortunately you have created an databse inconsistency and you might need to see if Basis can delete the values from the table.

The Portal is for the following applications:
Talent Profile for Employees
Talent Profile for Managers and Talent Management Specialists
Talent Review Meetings
Talent Groups
Corporate Goals and Values
Talent Assessment
None of these processes can be managed in the SAP R/3 system. Therefore it is not possible to have a holistic end-to-end succession management process, since you can only manage succession planning of positions.

Talent Management - Talent Review Meeting - Nominations under Participants

Hi experts,
In talent group, I have nominated some employees under a manager. Then during the creation of the Talent Review Meeting, when I add the manager as the participant, I do not see the nominees under the manager which I nominated earlier.
Did I miss any steps/configuration to this so that those nominated will appear under their respective manager?

In order to fix a bug with the Calibration Grid, the following values need to be entered into table T77TMCAESFIELD. This can be done via IMG > Talent Management and Talent Development > Basic Settings > Adjusting the User Interfaces > Configurations for Data Retrieval > Extend Fields Selection > Adjust Data Retrieval for Appraisals, Evaluations, and Surveys

IMPACT_LOSS
CHANGE_NEED
The values can be dummy values (i.e. just the name and the validity dates) or, if using Risk, it can be a VB object from the appropriate Talent Assessment form(s).

Mobility prefrence in talent profile

Hi All
We have a tab Mobility in Talent Profile accessed by ESS. Under that tab , we can define country groups.country, state , region etc.
I have configured India as a country group and subsequently the state and region are getting displayed on portal.
Through standard config , "All Countries " is also getting displayed under the country group section.
Can we remove the All countries tab through config changes and How ?

Hi Smriti,
These are standard values, but you can add your own values in customizing in Talent Management and Talent Development > Basic Settings > Country Groups and Areas of Country.
Countries are only defined if Areas of Country are to be specified. SAP will always display all countries defined in SAP by default. The Regions to Areas of Countries are selected based on values maintained in T005S (text values in T005U), maintained through Personnel Management > Personnel Administration > Person Data > Addresses > Country/Regions (GB).

Talent Review Meeting - Follow-up activities

Hello Experts,
We are on ERP 6.0 - EHP6.
I have created a talent review meeting, but when I go to do the Follow-up Activities, the button is disabled. There is a Badi to enable this button?
After creating this talent review metting, the value of performance and Potential was saved in infotype 7409 and 7408, but in my opinion it should be also saved in the appraisal documents and it doesn´t happen.

The status off apraissal is
The botton UPDATE_POST_TRM I create, because in the sistem don´t existe.
I configurate the button in Talent Management and Talent Development --> Assessment of Employees -> Employee Assessment with Flexible Appraisal Processes-> Define Data Retrieval for Flexible Appraisal Processes->Assign Status Change to Appraisal Templates.

Development Plans functionality in Talent Management

Hello,
We are planning to use the Development Plans functionality in Talent Management.
But the Development Plan is not opening from MSS. (MSS -> Talent management -> Assessment -> Development Plan).
I had created the Business partner object for all my test PERNRs and I had created a Development Plan Template (via IMG step in Talent management). I had activated the Business Functions and Services.
When I open the Development plan in MSS, it is showing the names of employees (i.e. the reports of the manager). But when I click on an employee, it's not opening any development plan. Nothing is happening.
