Target Business system in a different SLD

Hey
Is it possible to assign a business system to a target that is in another SLD?
In our landscape we have DEV and QA in one SLD, PRD in another. I dont want the _QA extension to apply for my PRD objects and therefore would like to create a target for the QA business systems etc.

I have created a BS_PRD in my initial SLD and set the target for my BS_QA to BS_PRD. I have also created the BS_PRD in my production SLD.
When I try to transport between the directory in QA system and the directory in PRD system, I still get an error message saying that "Business system BS_QA does not exist in the SLD".
When you say manual creation of BS & TS in PRD, what I am trying to should work? Or am I missing something here?

Transport Error while transporting ID TR (Target Business System not found)

Hi Gurus,
We are facing a issue with transports while transporting a ID transport to Prod from QA.(We are using CTS+)
Its our first transport to PROD and we have checked the configuration for BC Application Server in Administration ->Content Maintenance and all looks good .
Our SLD is looks as below
We have shared SLD for Dev and QA and it looks as below
Dev's BS has target business system of QA BS
And in Prod Sld looks like as below
QA's BS has target business system of Prod BS
When we transport from Dev To QA transport works fine but when we transport from QA to Prod its gives below error and in error its points that target for Dev business system is not found in Target SLD.
We thought we should try to point Dev BS ====>>Prod BS may be that might work work but its also giving error same error.

Hi,
I assume you have two SLDs(SLD1 - for Dev and QA , SLD2 - for Prod) and PI 7.0 or XI 3.0.
In this case the ideal solution would be to
1. set up a SLD bridge between your Dev/QA SLD and Prod SLD. The bridge basically forwards all the Technical system SLD info to Prod. SLD.
2. Import Dev business systems information into Prod.
3. Then create transport target,
Make sure that you have created Business Groups for Dev/QA/Prod properly

go to Scenario tab, Object -> New , Select the configuration scenario enter the configuration scenario name then save.
Expand Service without party ->Select the business system and right click click on next, next select your business systemd.
IF business system not appeared in ID..go to Environment -> Clear SLD data cache.
again try to assign the business system.

Obligatorytransport target for business system not found in SLD

Dears,
We implemented CTS+ in our PI three system landscape.
While implementation we configured local SLD and after that for dev and QAs we configured a central SLD.
And for Production we have seprate SLD.
In DEV SLD we have three buisness systems:
File_Dummy of type DEv
File_Dummy_Q of type QAS
File_Dummy_P of type PRD
Now in transport target group of File_Dummy I put File_Dummy_Q and in File_Dummy_Q I put File_Dummy_P but for BS File_Dummy_P target group is empty.
Now I put all these BS into a request and import them in QAS then I get error:
Obligatorytransport target for business system File_Dummy_P not found in System Landscape Directory
Now I am not getting what to put in transport target of File_Dummy_P as it is of type.
I tried to put their File_Dummy_P but we can not put PRD type BS there.
I also tried with dev and qas BS there but still same error.
Please suggest how to resolve this error.

did you transported the associated technical systems of your business systems....?
Also I assume you have assoicated the targets foryour business systems in SDL..
like for D targets are Q and P
for Q source is D and Target is P
for P sources are D and Q... if not assoicate the same...
and also make sure the three groups are available for three environments...

How to make an entry in transport tab of business system in SLD

Hi gurus,
In PI, in SLD we maintain Business systems. In this business sytem if we go to have a detail look there is a Transport tab.
What is this used for and how to make an entry here.
I'm a basis person and i'm configuring XI for the first time. Kindly help.

1. Yes , you have to maintain target business system for the EACH BS in PROD system.
2. Normally we do have 2 different sld one is explictly for production system. another one is for dev and QA system. Once u done creating all the systems needed for the project. we will copy all business from the dev server to production server. So production server will have all BS from Dev and BS of production server.
3. i am not sure about this. i dont have particular docuemnts . normally we assign target business system in transport tab. and in Intergration Directory we will export the business system from DEV and and import the business system in production system.

Transport target for business system not found in System Landscape Director

Folks,
We have new installed new PI 7.1 system and importing interfaces from the OLD XI 3.0 system in to new PID 7.1 system.
We are getting following error when we try to import an interfaces in to new PID system:
Import failed because of business system transfer object
Communication component XID_FileSystem: Obligatory
transport target for business system XID_FileSystem not found in
System Landscape Directory
We are yet to install PIQ system.
All the interfaces in the old XID system have transport target of XIQ system. I removed the transport taget for the interface, but transport target is still showing in the Business system under transport target head.
How can we overcome this issue as we will not have PIQ system atleast for two weeks.

Hi,
You need to maintain Transport Groups and target for business systems while SLD transports between your XI system and PI 7.1
Illustrated with DEv & PRD here.
Procedure:
1) Call Integration Builder screen on DEV Server with http://hostname:J2ee Port/rep
2) Call SLD (System Landscape Directory) Component from the Integration builder
Save all the Following .zip files on the Local Desktop
3) Select the Software Component & say Export that you want to Export from DEV
Server to Production server and which is going to use in the IR of XI
4) Also Select the Product of the above SWC and say Export
5) Select the Technical Systems (TS of XI & TS of the SAP R/3) and say Export
6) Select the Business System(s) & say Export; those are associated with above Exported
Technical systems.
In Production Server
1) Logon to the SLD of the Production Server.
2) Create a Technical System and Business system which points to the Production SAP R/3
3) Go to Administration TAB in the main page of SLD
4) Select the Import option to Import the SWC , PRD, TS,& BS which we Exported Earlier in DEV Server
5) Click on Browse and select the .zip files that is to Import into Production Server,
Which were stored on the local desktop at the time of DEV Server Export
And say Import Selected File Option
By this we exported and imported the SLD Objects
Now we have to create transport groups and transport targets in the Production server of SLD
Creation of Transport Groups
Edit GroupsGroup1) Select the Business systems
2) Click on New Group and give the name of the group as DEV_group & select the
Corresponding Development serveru2019s integration Server
3) Similar way create another group for Production serveru2019s business system as
PRD_group and select the Production serveru2019s integration Server
Creation of transport targets
This is to Define which business systems in two different groups correspond to each other
1) Select each Business system in the SLD and select transport TAB---click on
Add/Change Target and select its corresponding target business system.
For Example:
If you select the business system of Production XI server means
In the target you have to select group as DEVGROUP and the business system of Development XI server.
Like this do the same for other business systems also
Ex:
BS_PRD_Integration Server----
BS_DEV_Inetration Server

Exporting technical/business systems from one SLD to another

Hi Experts,
Currently we have dev/qa SLD and production SLD. I currently have access to create/modify technical and business systems in dev/qa SLD but when I try to export these technical/business systems the link to export is disabled. Is there a different security role that I need in order to be able to export the techincal and business systems that have been created in the dev/qa SLD? I need to export these systems and import them into the production SLD.
Are there any impacts/differences between exporting/importing and creating the systems manually? For example if I cannot export the systems would it be ok if I created them again in the production SLD?

No differeence...it's just increase the work you have to do in SLD...but the important thing here is when you move the tranports of the SLD BS from DEV to Production you have to maintin the same name as you have maintained in the trnsport targets in the DEV......your ID tranport to Production is dependedn on what is the BS name you are mentinog of production in the transports targets.

SLD webservice to get Business system details

Is there a standard SAP provided webservice in SLD with which i can read all the properties of a business system?
My scenario is like below:
I have the logical system name with me in an external system, i need to resolve the details regarding the logical system from the business system details in the SLD.

Actually i had seen the FM from inside SLDCHECK on the backend system.
However, the scenario that i am in - is that i need this information on a different system altogether which is java based.
Also, I have seen other forum posts which have pointed out to use CIM java APIs to read SLD details.
I was hoping that SAP has supplied a standard service so that i can avoid the usage of the APIs directly in my coding and use an SAP published service.

SLD - Export Business System: 404 Not found while downloading ZIP-File

Hi, well we did a complete export of SLD to another XI-System. This worked fine so far except that one business System was not properly "installed" in SLD.
Therefore we want to export this single business system via option "Export" but we receive an 404 Error: The requested resource does not exist. when trying to download the given zip-file!
I read in OSS that this error occurs in XI-systems with SP <12 and SAP suggest to upgrade to 12
Well that's not an appropriate solution!
Does somebody can help how we can download this zip-file with the business system in it?!
Or is there some workaround i am not familiar with?!

Ok Prateek,
we had two same Technical Systems with two differnet hosts given in the SLD of DEV & PROD System.
After decision to devide both systems, means to seperate SLDs we copied the whole SLD from DEV to PROD. So there were some conflict with this two technical systems because during import of CIM-Data the business systems got switched up.
Therefore we thought we have to export the business system given in DEV SLD to import this business system in PROD SLD. But the workaround is that we simply assign the wrong imported business system to the right technical system (in PROD SLD)

Did you change the name of the Business System in the past? Then you need to keep the old Business System name in the SLD, as during exporting and importing of configuration objects the history of the objects is checked as well.

About ABAP Technical Systems and Business Systems

Hi experts,
I have an Integration scenary with XI and an R3 vía RFC. I've already created it in the development environment and when I'm going to transport to Consolidation and Production I find that the ABAP Business System related to the ABAP Technical System of the R3 have a different name from the development one.
In the Integration Repository everything its OK because my scenario is developped on a third party system BS and TS. The problem is in the Directory because of the BS of the Message interfaces....
I think that transport Directory scenario with .tpt wont work. I'll probably have to develop it in each environment... What do you think?

This is what you need to do to move from Dev to QA.
1. Go to Dev SLD and Export all your SWCV, Products, Technical and Business Systems. This is nothing but saving of the SLD objects as a CIM file on your local machine. You would also need to export the Technical And Business System poitning to your XI integration server .
2. Go to the QA SLD and then import these objects exported in Step 1 in QA SLD
3. Now, create the QA Tech and Business Systems in the QA SLD
4. Go to the Dev Business systems imported on the QS SLD and you will have an option Transport Targets. In this map the Source Business System to the Target Business Systems.
Make sure that all Dev Business Systems have the correspodning Transport Targets for the QA Business SYstems
5. Now if you import the ID objects in QA , the business systems name will be renamed automatically.

Cannot Remove Business System

Hi,
I had created a Business System (BS_ABC_200) for different technical landscape for which we had assigned Client number 200 and logical client name also. After that the Business System was deleted by accident. Then i even deleted the technical system and created the technical system and also new Business System with different name.
Now, when i assign the new Business System in Configuration time, the Business System cannot be activated. The Error is "SAP System Id and Client name already existing with the service BS_ABC_200". Even though i had deleted in SLD.
If i create the Business system with same name "BS_ABC_200" then while assigning in configuration time i wont be able to see that Business System in the list.
How to overcome this issue, how can i delete BS_ABC_200 completely. Is there any runtime cache where i need to delete it.

In general , that to be you are facing this type of problem only inthis situation , then you have to refresh SLD cache.

Basic principle of XI scenarios and business systems

Hello,
from my point of view there is no way to reuse a business system in more than one XI scenario. Is that correct?
And so a scenario in the integration builder represents a container of all "business scenarions" with two or more participating business systems within one XI szenario. If I have different business processes in use e.g. I have to send different IDOCs, files, ... between these business systems all these real scenarios are collected within one XI scenario. And so one XI scenario is the collection of all business scenarios between these business systems. Correct?
If i want to encapsulate different business scenarios (to reduce complexity in integration builder) in different XI scenarios - that is not possible. One possible (bad)solution: I have to copy existing business systems and give different names. But so I increase the complexity in the SLD.
What do you think about that problem? Is that really a problem?

ReCreate Business System (ABAP AS) with the same name ? is this safe ?

Hi All,
Recently, I got problem with the business system (ABAP AS) in SLD suddently the BS type changed to Third Party after did some migration on the respective System.
The original ABAP system has been deleted and replace by new installed system with different client. So I am trying to change the client in SLD but I found that all technical system information missing in Business System. When I tried to choose the new technical system i only can see third party technical system (Meaning this BS has changed type to Thirdpart) Strange but it happen.
So i am planning to delete and recreate the Business System. is this correct and safe approach ? does it impact on the current scenarion ?
This is DEV system. We are using centralize SLD in PI Production Server.

Thank you very much for your response. It works for me now.
I have deleted and recreated again the BS in SLD, login to configuration, and refresh the adapter specific.
my last question before i am closing the forum. Since this is Development Environment is it necessary to transport after activated the BS (after adapter fresh) ? or just iqnore the object after activated.
At the moment i didn't because in the production the BS also will be converted to ECP BS by CTS+ during the transport.
would appreciate for you feedback.

Replication Business Systems not availble for Replication

Hi All,
We configured MDG 7 F workflows for all objects.
When We try Replication by Objection Selection option. ( Search GL Account--> Select Record --> Click on Replicate Button) , We are not getting target business sytem to select for the replication. This problem is occuring all finance objects like GL,Cost Center,Profit Center,Item,Company etc..
But, When we try Data Replication --> Replication by Objects option / Data Replication --> Replication by Replication Model options, We can see target business systems and able to replicate successfully.

It happens sometimes due to Meta Data Issue,
Go for SLD Cache :
To clear the SLD cache, from the Integration Builder main menu, choose Environment ® Delete Cache for SLD Data.
Once we have deleted the cache for SLD data, accessing objects in the SLD may take longer than usual initially.
Still If you are not able to see the Business System when trying to import the business system. Go to Objects tab in ID --> Business System and you will find the imported Business System --> Right Click and ADD to Scenario.
