Task Assignment can't be viewed

We are experiencing randomly issues when creating and assigning Outlook Tasks.
When a user receives the task, following error occurs,
I am getting "This item cannot be displayed in the Reading Pane. Open the item to read its contents.
When I open the item, I get popup "Sorry, we're having trouble opening this item.  This could be temporary, but if you see it again you might want to restart Outlook.  Outlook cannot perform this action on this type of attachment.
This does not happen 100% of the time.
Tried clearing form cache in advanced options in developer forms.
Tried setting the download whole email section.
Tried running in safe mode
Tried disabling Symantec Endpoint
Tried re-creating profile
Tried repair office 2010......
Is this an Exchange 2010 issue or Outlook 2010 ?

Hi,
To determine whether it's an Exchange issue or an Outlook issue, we can check the tasks on OWA. If we can open the tasks on OWA correctly, then it is an Outlook isolated issue.
If your Outlook is working in Cached Exchange Mode, please switch to Online Mode and check the result too.

  • My Tasks View in my custom task list fails to display the tasks assigned to me (that is the currently logged in user)

    Hi
I am new to sharepoint 2010.
I created a custom task list, where I  have many tasks assigned to users (I had tasks assigned to me as well). I created a view as "My tasks "and having a filter as Assigned To is equal to [Me]. When I do that my view fails to show the
tasks assigned to me. This happens same with the Sharepoints 'My Tasks' view as well. I tested by creating some test tasks under my name and when I selected 'My Tasks' view no tasks are getting displayed.
    Please help.
    Thanks,
    Gokulkumar.

    Hi,
According to your post, my understanding is that you wanted to display the tasks assigned the current logged in user.
In my environment, if I used the System Account, My Task view didn’t display any tasks.
However , if I used other users except the System Account, My Task view could display current user tasks correctly.
I recommend to use other accounts except System Account to log in site. Then everything will work well.
    Thank you for your understanding.

  • Can new PWA views be created whereby a filter can be set and associate to the view by default? (Project Server 2013 ONLINE)

My main question is: Can new PWA views be created whereby a filter for that view can be set, and associate to the view by default? (Project Server 2013 ONLINE)? and can I have a filter set to filter on person logged on to...
In previous versions of Project Server, when CREATING a PWA view, we were able to apply/ define a filter for that view.  Does not seem like it is the case in Project Server 2013 Online.  And if I remember, we could also use the URL Guid_view_id.
Please confirm; and / or tell me how-to.
What I was hoping to do is the following... Given that our standard that we have adopted for reporting time is 'My Timesheets' (fyi, Single Mode Entry=ON), we have some resources who have others who do it on their behalf via 'My Tasks' (ie., accomplished
by using the 'Assignment Owner' field, accordingly).  Therefore, when entering time on someone else's behalf within 'My Tasks', we like to present the user that is logged in only the tasks that they are are assigned to update on others' behlaf.
I know that there is another more elegant approach to doing this which may be to use the Delegation feature. But since we are trying to stick to Sharepoint Security mode for now, this is not an option for the time being.
Any help appreciated would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi Spiro,
1- You still can define in Project Online a filter in the view settings, it is located just above the category setting. Here is a screenshot of the summary project center view:
2- The view GUID is not anymore in the URL, since the URL triggers an action only on the webpart and not on the whole page. I agree this is annoying since it was great to send a URL with a specific view.
3- Concerning the access to my timesheet versus my task, I'm not sure to get a full understanding but on a general way, it is much more easy to deal with those situation using categories which you cannot do with the SP permission mode.
    Hope this helps,

  • Cancel Task Assignment after Exception?

    Hello,
I'm trying to model a parallel workflow by placing two User Tasks (SimpleWorkflow) in a Flow component.
The requirement is as soon as one of the two assigned users rejects the task, the process should immediately abort.
I achieved this by throwing an exception in the Reject branch, and catch it at the top level.
Now my problem is, when user A says Reject, the exception is thrown and caught, and the process comes to the end, but if user B logs in to the Worklist Application, the task is still visible and pending:(
This behaviour doesn't seem consistent to me, have a done something wrong? Is there a way to cancel all user tasks assigned in a process as soon as the process ends?
p.s. I can not use the Parallel Workflow pattern because user A and user B have different view of the workflow data and the JSP has to be designed individually, while in Parallel Workflow pattern, all users have the same view of the data (single JSP).
Any help will be appreciated and thanks in advance.

OK, it seems that adding a Terminate at the end of my catch block does the trick.

  • CProject 4.0 Task Assignment/ Scheduling Changes

    Hi All,
My Question is about Task Assignment with the Role Functionality,
    Scenario: I have created a Task A with validity Period 08/1/07 - 08/31/07
and than created a  Role A with validity Period 08/1/07 - 08/31/07, and than hard booked a  resource (Bob) with validity 08/1/07 - 08/31/07 {30 hrs} to the Role A,
Now as a part of Task Assignment I have linked the Role A to the Task A.
Question 1) If the Project Manager now changes the Task A validity Period 08/1/07 - 10/31/07,  and does the scheduling in the project ,Is there any way to automatically shift the dates of Role A to 08/01/07 - 10/31/07 and than the Resource to 08/01/07 - 10/31/07,
Question 2) Is there any Mass tool option to change Dates other than the Table view
Hope I made my questions 2 clear,
    Thanks

    Thanks Shiv for the response,
You are right, I change Task dates by using the Graphical view, but it will not change the Role Dates, assigned to the Task, as they both are not tied together,
I wanted to know if there is anyway, i can shift theRoles dates using the Task Date Shifting, other than coding
    Thanks

  • Task Assignment to Ggroup - Group Members Not Getting Email

I have a process with an approval activity with initial user selection set to a group rather than a specific user. I want all selected users to receive an email notification that a new task awaits them. When I assign to a specific user, the custom email template is sent to the user. When I assign to a group, the group members don't get the task assignment email.
How do I change that so that group members will receive email notification of task assignment?
    Thanks in advance!
    Eric

    One possible solution:
You can use our Group Lookup component to get a comma-separated list of the emails of the members of the group. Then, in the step before the User>assignTask step, send the group an email. The only problem is that you won't be able to embed a link directly to the task, because the task doesn't exist yet.
    Doc: http://avoka.dnsalias.com/confluence/display/Public/Lookup+DSC
    Download: http://www.avoka.com/avoka/escomponents.shtml
To work around this problem, you can use the technique outlined here:

  • What  is difference btw project Assignment, Resource Assignment and task Assignment.

    Hi,
I am new project accounting Module .
what  is difference btw project Assignment, Resource Assignment and task Assignment.

Project Assignment, Resource Assignment refers to the resource management part and Task assignment is basically the work assignment to the resource.
An assignment/requirement is created in PJR for create demand for the resource requirement of the project and when the resource is aligned he can be assigned to the task in the work plan.
Refers to the top down approach in this case.
Additionally a resource can be assigned to the work plan and a assignment can be created to get the resource allocated to the project.
Refers to the bottom up approach in this case

  • OIM - Task Assignment Adapter - How to get the object instance key?

    Hello experts,
I'm trying to use a task assignment adapter to assign an approval task dynamically. Basically, the user can request a resource like "CustomApp Profiles" and we create an object form to let them choose the profile that he needs. Each profile has an owner, which is populate in a Lookup (Owner is the code and Profile is the decode).
So, in the approval task, I need to get the profile selected by user in the object form and search into the lookup who is the owner of that profile. But I don't know how can I get the object instance key using the parameters that can be mapped to a task assignment adapter.
Looking into the OIM documents, I believe that the easier way is using the request key, because the REQ_KEY is a foreign key in OBI table.
Did anyone knows how can I get the object instance key using the request key? Can I use some API or should I execute a SQL statement directly in OIM database?
    Best Regards,
    Nitto

To retry a task that is in a rejected state, you use the SCH_KEY which is the task key.  In OIM, all rejected tasks are listed in the OTI table.  It contains all the important information about a rejected or pending task.
You can use the APIs found in the tcProvisioningOperationsIntf class to retrieve open tasks.

  • Query for tasks assigned individually to all members of a user group

I am looking for a query that will allow me to create a list view that will show all tasks assigned to the current user (in the Assigned To field), as well as to other members of the user group that the current user belongs to. The scenario is that we want
a student to see tasks assigned to them, as well as to other students in the class. Each class is its own user group. I have seen a lot of examples where the filter shows tasks assigned to the current user and the current users group - that is NOT what I am
    looking for.
For example - Todd (me), Fred and John are members of one user group. When I look at this class view, I should see tasks assigned to me, as well as those assigned directly to Fred and John.
Does anyone have a CAML query for this? I am thinking it would need to include the SPGroup element. Thanks!

    Hi William,
I've tried this, but it isn't working for me. Should I chnge the Smart Group, to an ordinary one?
    Thanks

  • Approval Workflow Task assigned behaviour

I have a strange issue that has started recently. On a approval workflow, if the users do not add anyone to the cc line on the task assignment, there is only one email generated to notify the recipient of the task . However, if they put someone on the
cc line as well, a email will get generated for each person on the cc list that will also include all the other recipients. So there are 3-4 emails being generated.  What could cause this and how can I fix it?

    Hi,
    Let verify the following:
Whether you mean that when you add people to the cc line, several emails will be sent to the same recipient. if it is, perhaps your cc object
is a group contains the recipient.
Whether your approval workflow created with SharePoint Designer 2010 platform. Maybe
the following checkbox is enabled "For each group entered, assign a task to every member of that group" in the workflow.

  • WLI task assignment in parallel work flow

I have been working with the WLI for a proof of concept leveraging the task assignment
features. Following the worklist tutorial I was trying to assign a task usining
a parallel process. The server indicated it was unable to assign the tasks in
parallel b/c one of the parallel branches claims the task and does not allow for
the assignment to the other branch.
Is there a way to do this? Any assistance would be appreciated.
    Thanks,
    William Ferris

    Hi Rami,
if you use process controlled workflow available in SRM7, you can easily implement the scenario. Using process schema evaluation, you can implement two different schema for department 1 and department 2 based on differement department.
Thus you can achieve two different workflow - if the requestor is from department 1, one step workflow (only manager)will be triggered. If the requestor is from department 2, two step workflow (first manager of the department and then buyer of department 1)will be triggered .
    I hope, it helps you.
    Thanks and regards,

  • Task assignment in Workflow

I am investigating the different possibilities to assign tasks in workflow processes. If I understand the documentation correctly a task can be assigned to an user or a group. If addressed to a group the first user in the group accessing the task "locks" it for all other users in the group. How do I assign a task to all users in a group (so each and every user in the group gets a copy of the task)? Can this be done? If not - how would you suggest such an implementation would be made? Perhaps using an external Web Service integrating with the Workflow Services?
    Best regards
    / Rasmus

To assign a task to each an every member in the group, you could use the parallel workflow or "parallel with final reviewer" pattern. This will create a master task with subtasks assigned to each member of the group. Additionally you can use the ora:getUsersInGroup(groupId) xpath function to get all the members of the group and assign tasks to them.
Another option is to use the <flow> construct in BPEL and create separate workflow tasks for each member in the group

    Hi,
Have you checked in OVX6 ? You can assign a given plant to different Sales Org. - Distribution Channel.
Select the Sales Org. - Distbn. Channel, click on Assign & in the pop-up box select the plant.

  • OIM task Assignment Tab

I am trying to understand how the assignment tab works. In process Def, I have a task, like create user. That has a assignment tab which has one entry in it. It has escalation time and a Default Rule. I entered an escalation time of 10 mins and then proceeded to create another entry below that. However, it says it needs a rule and the Default rule is not applicable since its already used by the first entry.
What rule do I need to create? What should be in that rule? Thanks in advance.

    See
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E14049_01/doc.9101/e14061/resmgt.htm#BABIHAIJ
You have to create Task Assignment Rule for this. That Task Assigment Tab is used for assigning that task to someone.
Suppose you have approval workflow and you have create Approval Task in that. Then you can assign it to anyone to approve that task.
In Task assignment tab, you select the user or group who will be responsible for completing that task. If you are giving some time duration in Escalation then it will escalate after that particular time but it tales value in ms.

  • Task assignment adapter - dynamic route to either group or user

I have configured an approval process in design console and I want to be able to dynamically route the approval request to either the target user manager OR a group. I have written logic/code to automatically determine what group or user to route the request to and also to set the key type to either user or group depending on my logic conditions.
This code is executed in a task assignment adapter and set the values for the key type and key depending on the logic.
i.e. the key type would be "user" and key would be the user key for the target user manager, if my logic determines it should be routed to a manager
    OR
the key type would be "group" and key would be the group key for the approval group, if my logic determines it should be routed to a group
HOWEVER MY PROBLEM is with assigning the adapter to a process task. I am thinking I would need to have two entries in the Assignment tab of the process task. The first entry has the default rule and I assigned the target type to "group" and include my adapter here.
How do I go about assigning the second entry for target type "user"? Since "Default" is the only rule option and I am not able to use it twice.
I tried to create a rule in the Rule Definition form and create a Task Assignment rule that might do something to check if a task is assigned to "user", so that I can have this as my second rule in the Assignment tab of the process task and if it is true, it would call my adapter that would return the key for the target user's manager.
I DO NOT KNOW what conditions to set in the Rule Element window for the Task Assignment rule. Can someone tell me what to do here OR provide me with a better alternative.

Thanks for all the responses. Approvals are now being routed correctly.
I have a follow-up question though........ I created a process adapter to send notifications to either the target user manager or members of the group that is the approval is routed to.
I have a notification process task as part of my approval process and in its Integration tab, I added my process adapter that sends notifications.
The code for the adapter uses the same logic I described in my original question to determine if the approval is being routed to a user of group. If it is routed to a group, the notification adapter identifies members of the group and sends email to them, this part works fine.
However the problem is when the logic determines it should be routed to the target user's manager. One of the variables of this notification process adapter is username of the target user. Using that username, my code determines who the manager, gets the manager's email address and sends the email. Problem with this is that when mapping variables for process adapters in the Integration tab, in the Map To field, it does not give you the option of mapping to Request Target User, which would have provided me with user attributes of the target user such as the user name. It provides option for the Requester, but my reality is that the Requester is not always the Target User.
Any suggestions for fixing this would be greatly appreciated.
