Task.getPayload / getPayloadAsElement not returning elements with no values

I am using BPEL 10.1.3.1.
So, I have a task payload that has 9 elements. When I retrieve the payload as an element, it only contains those nodes that actually had data. So, if I had an element like <creator/>, this element is not returned when using either of the getPayload methods.
Is this a bug? or intended functionality? I don't really like this functionality if it is working the way it is intended....
Input welcome.
BradW

Did you find the solution to this problem.
For my payload the values are null also.
for(int i=0; i<task.getPayload().getContent().size(); i++){
XMLElement xMLElement = (XMLElement)task.getPayload().getContent().get(i);
for(int j=0; j<xMLElement.getChildNodes().getLength(); j++){
System.out.println("getChildNodes map " +
xMLElement.getChildNodes().item(j).getAttributes().toString()
+ " values " +xMLElement.getChildNodes().item(j).getNodeValue()
+ " name " + xMLElement.getChildNodes().item(j).getNodeName());
Any advice would be greatly appeciated

    For this moment I only can say you that the more common cause to this problem (in my expirence) is that you have problems with your conversion/validate phase.

  • ORA-01400 - not null column with default value and item with authorization

    I've searched - I would think someone has run into this. APEX 3.0.0.00.20 - I've created a simple form on a table. One of the column is a not null column with a default value. I have a select list on that item, but it has security on it - authorization scheme. So, it checks the user and if that user isn't of the right role, it will not even display that item. However, APEX appears to still send in the column in its sql! So, the default value is useless, it sends in null each time. Even if I set the default at the Item level, I get null. Argg. That's got to be a bug...
    In debug, I do not see the item listed at all. It's not used. That's fine - but why is it trying to insert the value? I would think it would leave it off??? I think because the item is associated with a database column. But, getting around this is ugly. Having to create a hidden item for each one, and then check to see if I need to take the list value... horrible. Any way to get around this???

    I should add - I guess I can always put my own custom process in to replace the DML. Just seems like a simple thing - if the value doesn't appear on the debug, isn't set with any default value... don't include it in the DML.

  • Workflow task hyperlink with [%Current Task:Form_URN%]&Source= not returning to Source URL

    I've successfully used the format [%Current Task:Form_URN%]&Source=http://server/site/list/mylist/allitems.aspx
    in SP 2010 workflow emails to return the user to the All Items view of the main list, rather than to the task list, after completing the task. For some reason, this doesn't work in a 2010 workflow running on SP 2013. The user gets returned to the All
    Items view of the task list, which I think is quite confusing. Any idea why this might be happening? I see no obvious difference between the two URLs that are produced in the different environments.
    Thanks

    Hi,
    I understand that you use SharePoint Designer 2010 approval process workflow running on SharePoint 2013.
    I try to reproduce the issues, however, everything works well.
    In my on SharePoint 2013 environment, I can get the URL as below in the email body:

    /Lists/test/AllItems.aspx
    Then I open it in the Brower, after I approve the task, it return to the test list.
    In my on SharePoint 2013 environment, I can get the URL as below in the email body:

    Then I open it in the Brower, after I approve the task, it also return to the customlist list.
    Please make sure you open the task in the Brower using the URL in the email body. If you open the task in the Task list, then after you approve the task, it will return the task all items page.

    Sorry I guess I haven't explained very well. When I am issuing the SELECT statement which uses XMLElement I have to convert output to string in order to have a column alais PAYMENTITEM. It is then not reconnized as XML in the
    xsql:query call
    If I do not assign a alias to query I get following error
    oracle.xml.sql.OracleXMLSQLException: Character ',' is not allowed in an XML tag
    If I assign without using getClobVal() I get this error
    oracle.xml.sql.OracleXMLSQLException: Conversion to String failed
    If I then use the getClobVal() to assign column alias it appears as if entire result set is now a string then <> tag delimiters are now show with "&lt" signs instead.

  • JFileChooser not returning files with their extensions intact?

    I have now come across a very annoying problem: when I use a JFileChooser on Mac OS X, any files whose extensions are hidden are returned without the extension at all. For example, using a JFileChooser and selecting a TIFF image at /Users/me/image.tiff returns a file whose path is "/Users/me/image", completely leaving out the .tiff extension (So of course, the file doesn't exist). I discovered that this only happens when the "Hide file extension" option is selected in Finder for that file type.
    I have heard that on a Macintosh, you should use java.awt.FileDialog instead, would this fix the problem? Or is there some other workaround that someone else knows? Thanks in advance.

  • Question regarding creation of xml-elements with numerical values

    When i create xml-documents from xml stored in the database (xmltype table based on an xml-schema), i find that numerical values which were stored as 0.395 (with the "." as the decimal separator) are retrieved as .395.
    Is it possible to apply a format mask so that the numerical value is retrieved as 0.395?
    thanks, Bart
    N.b. Note that i select a complete xml-fragment. So my problem seems related to the storage or retreival of 'schredded' XML. I do not use SQL/XML-functions with relational data, in which case i know how to apply a format mask.

    I don't use XSLT, i just query the XML-documents stored in an XMLType column with a simple SQL-statement.
    I have posted a simple example over here Re: Is it possible to influence the creation of empty elements?

  • Speed/Duplex are not advertising correctly with configured values

    Hi,
    I have a gateway which runs on Windows Embedded Standard 7 which has Intel NIC Card.
    I have connected this gateway and a switch in a network where switch has configured speed/duplex as 1000Mbps/Full.
    When I set the Speed/Duplex on my gateway's NIC to Auto-Negotiate or 1000Mbps/Full, it negotiating/advertising the speed and duplex properly.
    But when Speed/Duplex sets to 100Mbps/Full on gateway's NIC, in the Switch it shows that my gateway is advertising the Speed/Duplex as 100Mbps/Half Duplex.
    I have checked the registry entries which sets when we configure the Speed/Duplex at adapter properties, registry entries are fine. I am not able to understand how exactly it negotiates Speed/Duplex and why it is advertising with 100Mbps/Half Duplex when
    it is configured for 100Mbps/Full.
    Thanks,
    Challask

    Hi Andy,
    Thanks for the reply.
    I have checked that the configured value on the adapter is 100Mbps/FullDuplex. I am checking these configured values through the registry entry
    Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{4D36E972-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}\00NN\*SpeedDuplex. It shows the configured value.
    The doubt have here is that i have checked the enum values for this *SpeedDuplex entry, it shows in the following way:
    0 - Autonegotiation
    1- 10Mbps HalfDuplex

    Why don't have here the value 5?
    I have checked this registry in other Windows Operating systems, it shows correctly. Only in this Windows Embedded Standard 7 OS it shows this way. Will it create any issue? While performing the Speed/Duplex advertisement/Negotiation will it use these enum
    values? If so how can I resolve this issue?
    Thanks,

  • How to return quotes with varchar2 value

    Hello-
    I'm writing a function and need to add quotes to either side of a varchar2 db value
    i.e. column value is Financial Trx, I need it to be 'Financial Trx'
    I'd be grateful for any ideas on how to do this -
    Many thanks in advance-
    amanda

    John, good point. Here is another way to get the single quotes that may or may not seem cleaner
    UT1> l
    1 select chr(39)||fld4||chr(39) as Word
    2 ,chr(39)||fld3||chr(39) as Oradate
    3* from marktest where fld1 = 8
    UT1> /
    WORD ORADATE
    'fraction' '25-JUL-03'
    When used in plsql code a variable can be given the value of a single quote, chr(39) and concatenated to the column values instead of repeatedly calling the function.

  • ADF Struts : Form not getting refreshed with new values

    I have a view object based ona entity object. It has an additional attribute(calculated attribute) selected from some other table. In my browse page, I click on edit button and change the calculated attribute in the edit page and comeback to the browse page. In the browse page, the changed calculated attribute is not getting reflected. however the database has the changed value. Now, if I query the same browse page in a different browser window, it shows the changed value. But, still the original browser window shows the unchanged value only(even after refreshing the browser). So, this is server caching. Why is the application module not refreshing the bindings? What should be done to achieve the bindings refresh?

  • FileReader does not return the correct byte value of the characters

    I have some text in a very old persian code page and all I have from this code page is numerical table of the characters(like ASCII table).
    With a HashMap, the equivalent Unicode characters are mapped to the numerical values. With using FileInputStream and its read() method, it converts corretly;
    but by using the FileReader (following code snippet), just a few characters cannot be read correctly so it cannot be mapped correctly either.(I tryed several encodings too)
    FileReader in = new FileReader("inputFile");
    BufferedReader b = new BufferedReader(in);
    Stirng s = b.readLine();
    byte[] by = s.getBytes("encoding");
    I need to work with strings for conversion; so is ther any solution for it?

Then create a string representation by appending the characters to a StringBuffer. You can't use FileReader because readers convert bytes to characters using a character encoding, which you don't have.
