Tax Rate Calculation

Hello Experts
I have a Tax combination BED+VAT contains the following tax codes
BED = 16%
E Cess = 2% (on BED)
HS Cess = 1% (on BED)
VAT = 4% (on (BEDE CessHS cess) )
when manually calculated the  total tax percentage is  21.1392%
where as in B1 under the tax code it shows Tax Rate as 23 % (1621+4)
Is there any possible way to get the correct Tax Rate in Business One 8.8 .
Regards
Arun

Hi Arun,
Set formulation as follow -
1. Create Formula for BED -
     BED_BaseAmt = Total
     BED_TaxAmt=BED_BaseAmt*BED_Rate
2. Create Formula for eCess -
     Cess_BaseAmt=BED_TaxAmt
     Cess_TaxAmt=Cess_BaseAmt*Cess_Rate
3. Create Create for formula for ShCess-
     Shcess_TaxAmt=BED_TaxAmt*Shcess_Rate
     Shcess_BaseAmt=Shcess_TaxAmt
4. Create Vat Formula for Vat -
     BaseAmt=TotalBED_TaxAmtCess_TaxAmt+Shcess_TaxAmt
     TaxAmt=BaseAmt*Rate
5. Create Tax Combination as BED+VAT4  - select tax types BED,eCess ,ShCess and vat then select formula codes as above you defined accordingly.
Thanks
Sachin

  • Config of Group assets - Tax Depreciation Calculation : India

    Dear Seniors,
    can you please explain the configuration of the Group assets and how exactly the tax depreciation calculation in India happens for the individual assets with scheme of entries.
    Thanks and Regards
    Sathish

    Hi,
    In India, depreciation on assets for the purpose of computation of net income as per the Income Tax (IT) Act 1961 is calculated over a block of assets instead of individual assets as allowed under the Companies Act 1956. Asset acquisitions and retirements are managed over the block level. The IT Act prescribes certain rates of depreciation to be used under the Written down Value (WDV) method over these asset blocks to compute depreciation.
    The following are the customization settings that may be followed in the R/3 system in order to manage your assets in the income tax depreciation area.
    1. Copy the standard chart of depreciation 0IN as provided by SAP and create your own chart of depreciation.
    2. Use the depreciation area 15 for the purpose of management of assets under the IT Act. Make it statistical in nature. (Reference Transaction Code: OADB). Do not check the box negative net book value.
    3. Specify that the Income Tax depreciation area takes over the APC from the book but not make it identical (Reference Transaction Code: OABC).
    4. Create an asset class for the purpose of income tax blocks. This asset class will be used to create only group assets. (Reference Transaction Code:  OAOA)
    5. Specify that the depreciation area for income tax can be managed only for group assets. (Reference Transaction Code: OAYM). This would mean that depreciation for this depreciation area would be computed only at group asset level.
    6. Specify that the asset class defined in (b) above will be used for creating group assets only. (Reference Transaction Code: OAAX)
    7. Two period control methods (IT and NL) have been defined in the system for determination of start or the end of depreciation calculation at the time of a fixed asset acquisition or retirement. You may use these period control methods while creating the depreciation keys for the purpose of IT depreciation.
    Calendar assignments have been made for the above mentioned period control methods in order to reflect valuation requirements as per the Income Tax Act (Transaction Code: OAVH). You may create your own period control methods depending on the fiscal year variant you use. The period control methods supplied are based on the fiscal year variant V3.
    8. Depreciation Keys: The following depreciation keys have been created in the system. They correspond to the income tax blocks that are prescribed under Indian tax laws. They are as below:
    Depreciation Keys:
    1. IN1 - Tax Depreciation - 5% -
    I Hope it will give you some basic guidance.

  • Tax rate is not coming up in PO

    Hi,
    The rate is not coming for one of the tax condition type in the PO
    1)Tax percentage 12 percent is maintained against the condition type in FV11.
    2)Calculation schema is proper.
    3) Tax code is maintained properly .
    this problem has arised after migrating to ECC6.0.Earlier version was 4.7
    the base amount in PO is also zero condition type BASB in the tax calc procedure

    Is the material taxable? Check material master
    Also check the invoice tab of the PO to verify if tax code is getting populated and what jurisdiction codes. Then check ftxp for tax rates maintained for that combination or not.

  • Extended Withholding Tax Rate change at invoice Level

    Hello Every One
    We are implementing Extended Witholding TAx in US.
    How can i achieve Below
    Requirement 1:
    At the time of invoice the business want to override the Tax rate, but i am not sure how it will happen since tax rate % is defined in tax codes and tax codes are assigned in the vendor master?  The reason for this is that if one vendor has existence in two different countries  then our company will with held tax at different rate.
    My Solution: I will define one tax code with 100% rate and then if the that vendor has to be deducted at 30% rate. Then in the vendor master in the exemption % field they can put 70%, so at the time of invoice it will be calculated 30%, but the draw back of this is that it has to be maintained by the master data team  and the invoice clerk cannot do it right away if the requirement gets changed. (if someone has other than this please let me know)
    Requirement 2:
    How we can with hold tax at line item level, is it possible?
    for example if we receive an invoice from a vendor for 2000$. Out of 2000$ $1200 is belong to service which is taxable and 800$ is belong Material which is not taxable.
    Requirement 3.
    What will be the configuration setups of with holding tax account in FS03

  • Tax not calculating

    In FV11 we are maintaining vat tax rate at plant/vendor/material level. we are not maintaining tax classification. In fi  FB60 entry  we are put plant & material  on line item level.  earlier  it was calculating  tax  respective  vendor, plant & material.
    But now tax calculation not happing in FB60 how can i resolved this issue? where i have do the changes?

    HI
    Check for the following Points:
    1] Tax code should have proper condition records with proper validity periods.
    2] Taxcode should be assigned to Compnay code
    3] If assignment of taxcode made relevence for MM/FI activities in -OBZT Tcode[actually this is not required while using TAXINN But some tax code maintained then you need to maintainn new taxcode created.]
    4]All the conditions with proper validity periods.
    If all these points are taken care then you can get the results.

  • Tax Rate for CENVAT definition

    Hi,
                          I am creating a taxcode for CENVAT+CST.  I have the combination like this:
                                                BED=10% on Total
                                                Cess 2% on BED
                                                 HSCess 1% on BED
                                                CST 2% ON Total+ BED Taxamount.
                               In the righthand top of the tax definition window the taxrate is showing as 15%.(1021+2 CST).
                       But actually it shoulbe 12.3%.In the documents the tax amounts are showing correctly.Can you explain this 15%?
    Regards,
    S.G.Sekar

    Hi S.G.Sekar....
    There is no difference between what SAP is showing and what is your concept of Tax Rates.
    Both are same from Calculation Point of view.
    Generally tax person says 10.3 as Excise which includes 1021......
    Basically the concept is on BED 10 % 2cess and 1 HSCess is being calculated which is nothing but 10.3 where 10 is for BED ans 3 is for 2+3
    But in SAP terms it is 1021 and CST 2 means total 15....
    Both way it is correct that is why the calculation is coming perfect......
    So dont worry it is all OK......

  • Changes in Service Tax Rate from 12% to 10% from 24th Feb 2009

    Dear All SAP Consultants
        In our Company we are using JSRT ,JEC3 & JES3 Condition type, for calculation of S.Tax, Cess & H,Cess respectively, for Service Tax Calculation. We have maintain above Condition through FV11 [Maintain Condition Type for Vendor]  12%, 2% & 1%. to the Vendor, up to validity date 01-04-2008 to 23 Feb 09 and as per the changes declare by Government, we have maintain it 10% 2% & 1% from validity period 24.02.009 to 31.12.9999.
         But, when we post the entry through FI through the FB60 [Vendor Invoice] with Document Date which is before 24 Feb 2009 and Posting is Current date for Last month Invoices, which is include Service Tax Rate 12%. at that time system should have take the 12% service tax, but it is taking  10% as per new condition was maintain to the vendor.
    How, we post the Invoices which is include the 12% S.Tax through FI with Document Date  is before 24.02.2009 and Posting Date is Current Date.
    Thanks & Regards
    Abhijeet R. Walke

    Hi Abhijeet,
    It picks up on the basis of posting date and not document date.
    Enter posting date before 23 feb.

    Dear Raj,
    Please check the below suggestion that can be useful:
    Point 4 of SAP note  952289 gives a clear idea about this issue.
    It is as follows.......
    4. For direct posting to FI through the transaction FB60/ FB70, the ta
    calculation is not taking place.
    Answer: Ensure that the following steps are carried out -
    1. Insert the condition table 003 in the access sequence JTAX/JST1
    one above the last step.
    2. DO NOT MARK IT AS EXCLUSIVE.
    3. Create new set of TAX codes to be used in FI only.
    4. Maintain condition records for these tax code using the table 003,
    through FV11 with the appropriate tax percentage.
    Further make sure that the said tax code is present in FTXP and the
    same is assigned to your respective company code,in the following
    customising node:
    SPRO > Logictics general > Tax on goods mvmt > India > Determination
    of excise duty > Asssign tax code to company code..
    This solution is relevant for all direct tax related postings through
    FI.
    I hope this helps.

  • Tax does not equal 0 when tax rate is Zero

    Hi,
    We have a problem when posting an invoice through MIRO. The end user gets the message 'Tax does not equal 0 when tax rate is Zero'. I checked the tax code and it looks fine.
    Can anyone throw some light on the error?
    We are using vertex for tax calculations.
    Regards,

    Hi Raj,
    Please chek OSS NOTE 681538 .
    Check for the applicable releases and support packages from the note.
    Check from your system on what support package you are into. Goto System -> Status -> click on the magnifying glass against Component version and see what is the support pack for SAP_APPL.
    You can ask your Basis colleagues also to check if it can be applied into the system. I guess they would check it through t-code SNOTE.

  • Sales Tax rate in Sales Order

    Hi All,
    I am writing an application which is suppose to import Sales Orders from other application, I cannot use DTW because I need to do some calculations while importing orders so am using DI to write code.
    Ok now comes the real problem, I have “Sales Tax” rate in my source application and I want to use same percentage in order, but DI does not allows me to specify sales tax rate (%) for the order instead it uses default customer tax code. Is there any way where I can override default tax rate and populate it with the number from source application?
    Thanks Gurus
    Jiten

    Dear Jitendra,
    maybe it would be better to post your question to forum <Expert Forums\SAP Business One\SAP Business One SDK>. There you will  find experts in programming DI and UI.
    The forum <Expert Forums\SAP Business One\SAP Business One> you posted to is rather for questions concerning the use of SAP Business One and not the programming of its interfaces. Of course, it may be possible that someone answers your question here, too. But it is more likely to find answers in the others forum.

  • Table of tax rate percent from FTXP

    Can any one tell the table name to find Tax Rate Percent, to post the same Tcode is FTXP.

    Hi,
    Tax codes have to be manually exported from source client (DEV) and then imported into the target clients (QA, PRD).
    Please read OSS note 605537 and F1 help below for further information.
    Important note on transporting tax codes -> F1
    Message no. F4794
    Diagnosis
    Transporting tax codes requires manual postprocessing. This postprocessing is also necessary if tax codes have to be transported from one client to another within the system.
    Procedure
    When tax codes are transported, only the tax rates of the tax codes are transported.
    The transport of tax codes between systems or clients is carried out in two steps:
    1. step:
    Export of tax codes from the source system or source client
    2. step:
    Import of tax codes into the target system or target client
    Export
    1. In Customizing for Financial Accounting Global Settings in the source system or client, select Tax on Sales/Purchases -> Calculation -> Define Tax Codes for Sales and Purchases.
    2. Select Tax code -> Transport -> Export.
    3. Assign the export to the corresponding transport order, and note the order number.
    4. Select and save the tax codes to be transported.
    5. Make sure that the tax codes selected are marked with the transport number in table T007V.
    To check the table, in the SAP menu, select Tools -> ABAP Workbench -> Overview -> Data Browser.
    Enter the table name. The tax codes are in field MWSKZ and the tax jurisdiction codes are in fields TXJCD.
    6. Carry out the transport into the target system.
    To do this, in the SAP menu, select Tools -> ABAP Workbench -> Overview -> Workbench Organizer -> Environment -> Customizing Organizer.
    Import
    1. Make sure that the tax codes to be transported are selected in table T007V in the target system or target client.
    2. In Customizing for Financial Accounting Global Setting in the source system or client, select Tax on Sales/Purchases -> Calculation -> Define Tax Codes for Sales and Purchases.
    3. Create the tax codes that do not already exist in the target system.
    Create them complete, but without tax percentage rates.
    If you set internal systems in company codes in the USA or Canada, the corresponding tax jurisdiction codes should also exist. You can make the settings for these in Customizing for Financial Accounting Global Settings under Tax on Sales/Purchases -> Basic Settings -> Define Tax Jurisdiction Codes.
    4. Select Tax code -> Transport -> Import.
    5. Check the proposed values for the transport order and country.
    6. Carry out the import.
    Notes for the transport of tax accounts
    When you transport tax codes between different systems or clients, no tax accounts are transported.
    Adjust the tax accounts in the source and target system (or source and target client) manually.
    Rewrad If helpfull,
    Naresh.

  • How the tax % is calculated

    Hi,
       I want to know how the % of tax is calculated in FTXP for a tax  in Tax Percent. Rate  it is written as    set off 100.00  then how system find the corrsponding %  like 8%  or 16% etc.  also what is Tax jurisdiction .
    regards,
    zafar

    hi jafar
    System not aumatically calculate percentage for tax for that you have to maintain condition record, in fv13 you can find % maintain.
    for different condition, and combination , combination is depends upon what access sequence you choose for youre condition,
    set off cond.we maintain for credit purpose if we utilise full credit then we maintain it 100%.
    ex. for bed we use cond JMOP which maintai 8% and its set off cond. JMX1 we mantain 100%

  • Field - Tax Rate against Invoice Number

    Hi,
    Please tell me the Table Name for TAX RATE against the INVOICE NUMBER...
    Thanks....

    Hello Prince,
    I will like to carry forward with Eric's post:
    with VBRP-MWSKZ you can use FM GET_TAX_PERCENTAGE (you'll need the country as well)
    Lets assume you have
    1. BUKRS - Comp. Code
    2. MWSKZ - Tax Code from the source table can be VBRP or RSEG
    Plz try the code below, hope this will help:
        l_mwskz = p_mwskz. "--> Tax code in your case
        SELECT SINGLE land1
                      INTO l_land1
                      FROM t001
                      WHERE bukrs = p_bukrs.
      ENDIF.
    * Pricing procedure
      SELECT SINGLE kalsm
                    INTO l_kalsm
                    FROM t005
                    WHERE land1 = l_land1.
      IF sy-subrc = 0.
    *   Get tax jurisdiction code
        SELECT  txjcd INTO l_txjcd
                FROM ttxj  UP TO 1 ROWS
                WHERE kalsm = l_kalsm.
        ENDSELECT.
      ENDIF.
    * Calculating tax amount
      CALL FUNCTION 'GET_TAX_PERCENTAGE'
        EXPORTING
          aland   = l_land1
          datab   = p_budat  "--> You can use VBRP-PRSDT in your case
          mwskz   = l_mwskz
          txjcd   = l_txjcd
        TABLES
          t_ftaxp = it_ftaxp.
      READ TABLE it_ftaxp INTO wa_ftaxp INDEX 1.
      IF sy-subrc = 0 .
        v_tax_rate = wa_ftaxp-kbetr.
      ENDIF.
    Relation between VBRK & BKPF:
    1. BKPF-XBLNR = VBRK-VBELN
    2. BKPF-AWTYP = VBRK & BKPF-AWKEY = VBRK-VBELN
    From this you can go to BSEG, then its quite simple:
    IF BSEG-BUZID = 'T'.
      v_tax_rate = ( BSEG-DMBTR / BSEG-HWBAS ) * 100
    ENDIF.
    Else you can use BSEG-MWSKZ and use the previous code. Upto you to decide )
    BTW, you said in your firm you do not have Function ppl, is it true ??
