TDMS for ISU?

I find this link http://www.sap.com/uk/about/events/worldtour09/pdf/2009_WT_partners_en_06.pdf which mentions
SAP TDMS for ISU.
As far as I know there is no TDMS for ISU.
Could you help clarify and if there is one TDMS ISU could you tell more info about it?
Thanks!

Hi
Its not clear from the link as to what they did or plan to do for TDMS for ISU. So no inference could be made. May be they are talking about some consulting solution or projectized solution over and above standard TDMS.
Difficult to comment.

  • TDMS for CRM + BI

Will that be part of the normal license or need this to be licensed separately?
    Markus

    Srili,
we are using TDMS for quite some time. We have a TDMS license and my question was if the CRM + BI is included in the TDMS license or if there is an additional license necessary to reduce CRM + BI systems.
Please don´t repeat yourself by posting links to the SLO webpage on all threads, that page does not give information about my question.

  • TDMS for reduce data volume

    Hi Experts,
We have implemented TDMS and installed in all systems.
Our system landscape is like - DEV, QUAL and PRDN (ECC system)
we would like to use TDMS for reduce data volume in non production systems.
We have one more project system which is in the transport line.
Could any one please inform which is the best scenario to use TDMS for reducing data volume in non-production systems without much distrubance in production system.
Also how it is taking care of development system, since the customization will be overwritten in DEV system.
    Thank you in advance.
    Shylesh

    Hi Shylesh,
you can use several packages to reduce your data. If you need application data you can use a time slice (package TDTIM), if you don't need it you can use the master data and customizing option (TDMDC).
I suppose you are going to transfer from one client to another so best thing to do is to create a new client on dev if you still need the old customizing settings.
Concerning the impact of the productive environment. Can you give me an idea on the database size ?

  • TDMS For BI

    Hi,
I have done tdms for r/3 ,4 iterations for tdtcc, tdtim, bpl. Now my client require tdms solution for bi.Recently i had workshop with sap for tdms erp not bi from my client.Could anyone
what type of quetions will popup from bi functional people and answers for that questions.I have to give some presention for clinet before i start hands-on.
    Thanks in Advance

Process Tree for TDMS for BI is much similar to that of ERPs.
    -  Master Data is completely transferred.
    - Transactional data is reduced.
Only Active ODS tables are transferred by default . New tables and change Log tables are not copied.
For Infocubes , only E and F fact tables are reduced, Dimensional tables are completely copied.
    - PSA data is not transferred by default.
    - Technical content is also not transferred.
As of now only Time based reduction is possible with TDMS BI.  Kind of TDTCC is not currently provided with TDMS BI.
It is possible to copy selected infocubes but appending to existing client is not possible. When ever we run any TDMS package, data in receiver client is deleted and then copied data is written to it.

  • TDMS for SAP BI 7.0

    Folks,
We are planning to buy TDMS for our BI 7.0 system and wondering how TDMS will work for Cubes, aggregates? Is this tool will work exactly like system copy? I am not able to find good documentation on TDMS for BI specific.
Can some one share experience with this tool.
    Thanks,
    Kumar

I'm also looking for information on this.  We know that TDMS can offer reductions on Info Cubes and ODS objects.  The question is, what is the impact if a customer is doing aggregates on the InfoCubes?  How does TDMS handle this?
    >>
Relational aggregates allow you to improve the performance of BI queries when data is read from an InfoCube. The data of a BI InfoCube is saved in relational aggregates in an aggregated form. Relational aggregates are useful if you want to improve the performance of one or more specific BI queries, or specifically improve the performance of reporting on characteristic hierarchies.

  • Business scenario..for ISU and integration with R/3 modules..

    Scenario:
    1.     Client is providing Utility services to the customer and also to its own employees.
The service is also consumed by the employees who are treated as contract partners in ISU. The constraint is that the utility bill has to be deducted from their payroll, which is deducted monthly using a wage type from their pay roll, which is in SAP R/3.
    2.     Similarly some of the contract partners are also vendors to the client (the vendor and contract partner is same). The consumption of utility bill is adjusted to the payment made by the client to vendor.
    Questions :
    1.     How we can deduct the utility bill of the employees from their payroll. Is there any integration of ISU with HR ?
    2.               Also how  can we clear the receivables in FICA since data can be pushed from FICA to FICO thru reconciliation keys but not vice versa ?
    3.     How can the utility bill be deducted from vendor’s account and there is no standard link between vendor master to contract partner in ISU.
Can anybody suggest any standard solution for these two scenarios or  any work arounds .
    Early solutions are highly appriciated
    Thanks and Regards

    Hello,
Please look into my answers below:
    Questions:
    1.     How we can deduct the utility bill of the employees from their payroll. Is there any integration of ISU with HR?
    i.     There is no integration between ISU with HR.  What you need to do is that create separate account determination id <say HR> and use this id in Contract account to identify that a particular contract account is an employee related ID.
ii.     Now at the end of the day or month collect the O/s balances of all the employee contracts in a form of flat file, use a BDC program to update the data in the HR table PA0014 <Please confirm with your HR colleague too> so that their pay would be = Actual payroll-Amount due.
iii.     After the above step, make sure that you run FPY1 <Payment run program> to clear all employee open items. You can have a separate payment method for Employees and attach the same in contract account
iv.     You can create a separate ‘Z’ table to map Employee ID with a contract number so that during creation of flat file in step 1.ii above, your job becomes easier.
    2. Also how can we clear the receivables in FICA since data can be pushed from FICA to FICO thru reconciliation keys but not vice versa?
    i.     Please refer to point 1.iv above. You need to run FPY1 Payment run to clear employee receivables in FICA.
    3. How can the utility bill be deducted from vendor’s account and there is no standard link between vendor master to contract partner in ISU.
    i.     There is no integration between ISU with AP.  What you need to do is that create separate account determination id <say AP> and use this id in Contract account to identify that a particular contract account is a Vendor related ID.
ii.     Now at the end of the day or month collect the O/s balances of all the vendors in a form of flat file, use a BDC program to update the data in the AP table BSIK so that amount to be collected from vendor = Actual amount-Amount due.
iii.     After the above step, make sure that you run FPY1 <Payment run program> to clear all Vendor open items. You can have a separate payment method for Vendor-Contract Accounts and attach the same in contract account
iv.     You can create a separate ‘Z’ table to map Vendor number with a contract number so that during creation of flat file in step 1.ii above, your job becomes easier.
    Additional points to be considered
    1.     Check if at all separate clearing rules are needed for Employee- Contract accounts, Vendor-Contract Accounts & other contract accounts.
    2.     Verify FM ‘COMPUTE_CONTRACT ACCOUNT_BALANCES’ is useful in obtaining the balances of contract accounts <I do not have SAP ISU active system with me else I would have provided correct FM>
    3.     There may be performance issues based on the volumes of the data.

  • TDM for Logic Pro on a Mac Pro

I have a Mac Pro running OSX 10.4.8 and I am
wondering if anyone knows when Apple is going to
release an update for TDM to will work with Logic.
Apple wil never release any TDM stuff, and do you know why? Because TDM stuff belongs to DIGIDESIGN.(That was pretty obvious).
For some reason i cant record with Core Audio either.
Core audio does NOT talk to TDM systems. At the risk of sounding "evil",or "condescending" I would ask you to open the manual to your TDM system and read how it works. The answers are ther, you just have to read them out loud to yourself, and further, understand them.
    Can someone explain.
Since, like some other posters, you did not tell us what audio hardware you are using,EXACTLY,well,we can't give you an answer,EXACTLY,since systems vary, and setups vary as well.
    Cheers...

  • TDMS for RETAIL/STORE

    Hello Expert Zone,
Finally I started working on the CRM extraction, and here is my scenario.
Source system: 300 warehouses worth of member data.
    Target: Blank/empty.
Objective: Copy /extract member/membership data from source by warehouse type ( 320 - 340 only ), to bring in 20 warehouse worth of data, and nothing else..
What template should be used in this case? appreciate if someone can share your inputs with step by step procedure.
    Thanks,
    V.

    Hello Vikram,
I see this query related to the discussion we had in your previous thread:
    http://scn.sap.com/message/15025928#15025928
If i understand correctly, you have CRM loyalty management coupled with SAP POS.
What i understand is that there is SAP Retail system and there is SAP CRM.
For CRM data reduction, TDMS provides date criteria. TDMS CRM does not reduce CRM loyalty management data, which means that the data in these tables will be fully copied across from sender to receiver system.
We do have TDMS Retail solution where we do reduction based on below.
    1) Store/Site(In retail terminology)
    2) Customer number
    3) Date
Let me know if i have answered your question.

Which version are you setting up and what are the requirements? IF you are discussing the use of NIC bonding for high availability beginning in 11.2.0.2 there is a concept of "High Availability IP" of HAIP as discussed in the pre-installation chapters,
http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E11882_01/install.112/e22489/prelinux.htm, section 2.7.1 Network Hardware Requirements.
In essence, using HAIP eliminates the need to use NIC bonding to provide for redundancy.

  • TDMS for BI - shell creation and SMIGR_CREATE_DDL

If a homogeneous system copy of a BI system is done, it's necessary to run the job SMIGR_CREATE_DDL because depending on what database is used, special SQL scripts for tables must be used (concerning primary keys).
How does that integrate into a shell creation? Is the shell creation process aware of those scripts? I mean, it's theoretically possible that the SQL scripts has a table that is excluded from being transferred?
    Markus

    Markus and Pankaj:
I have created a SHELL (BW) using Markus' way as listed below.
Because Markus did not mention that SMIGR_CREATE_DDL should be run at the beginning, so I did not run it.
So how to determine in the created shell what is missing?
We do have partitioned tables and bitmap indexes.
    Thanks!
Here is the way provided by Markus:
I basically do shell creation as follows:
    - install the latest system copy tools (R3load, R3ldctl, R3szchk, libdb<database>slib.dll)
    - create an installation directory and give full permissions to <sid>adm and SAPService<SID>
    - create a directory for export location and give full permissions to <sid>adm and SAPService<SID>
    - open a cmd.exe as <SID>adm, step to the installation directory and execute "R3ldctl -l R3ldctl.log -p ." (note the "dot" which means actual directory)
    - in parallel start the client export of client 000 in source system using SCC8 (profile SAP_ALL) and note the file names you get in the last dialog window
    - when R3ldctl is finished give permissions to SAPService<SID> for all files in the installation directory
    - proceed with TDMS
    - when you are at the point to start the system copy start sapinst, choose system copy and select start migration monitor manually (VERY important!)
    - sapinst will run R3ldctl, R3szchk and then prompts you to start migration monitor
    - step to your normal installation directory (c:\program files\sapinst_instdir....), open export_monitor_cmd.properties and adapt the file. The import thing is, that you need to point to YOUR DDL<DB>.TPL file you create in step 4 (in my list here)
    - start export_monitor.cmd and export the system
    - proceed with TDMS to adapt the database sizes (DBSIZE.XML)
    Import:
    - if you have an already installed system uninstall it
    - start sapinst normally, choose system copy and point to the export you created
    - install the system normally (as a new installation)
    - if you want to make sure the import works as the export choose "start migration monitor manually"
    - if sapinst stops and requests you to start migration monitor copy the kernel from source system to target system
    - configure import_monitor_cmd.properties and start migmon
    - logon in client 000, start transaction STMS and create a domain (basically only a transport profile will be created)
    - start program BTCTRNS1 (this will suspend all jobs from the source system but not delete them)
    - copy the files from the client copy to TRANSDIR/cofiles and TRANSDIR/data and import them to client 000 (either use STMS or use command line tp)
    - adapt profile parameters (RZ10)
    - run SGEN
    - invalidate connections in SM59 that point to other production systems
    - finished
    - to re-enable all the jobs run BTCTRNS2, however, I'd do this only if you're sure you have invalidated RFCs and or sending jobs (e. g. from SCOT)

  • How to deploy and use TDMS for ECC

    Hello All,
We have a requirement of doing the system refresh from our production database using TDMS.
Please suggest how to use and deploy this tool
I am very new to it
    Rohit Goyal

    Hi,
check SAP Note 1003051 - TDMS 3.0 corrections - Composite SAP Note
Also, check master and operation guide on https://websmp107.sap-ag.de/~form/sapnet?_SCENARIO=01100035870000000202&_SHORTKEY=01100035870000689101
For this you have to first decided which will be your receiver, sender and control/central system. Then you have to install TDMS add-on's on all participating system. Then you can execute transaction CNV_MBT_TDMS to start data transfer from central/control system.
This is very high level. I will suggest you to go through the guides.
    Thanks
    Sunny

  • TDMS for refresh DEV system

    Hi,
Does anybody have experience with refreshing a DEV system using TDMS?
Our DEV system consists of 2 clients, One used by programmers with no data in it, and a second client with some transactional data for performing the first tests before something is transported to QAS.
The repository of a DEV system will never be the same as on a production system (people are programming simultaneously), so the scenario I had in mind was to create the DEV system as a shell from the production system, create 2 clients and use a TIM for the second client.
But then all the program specific data which is stored in DEV gets lost (e.g. program versioning).
Does anyone know how to keep this data?
    Kind regards,
    Nicolas

    Hello
Their are some main concerns before a TDMS TDTIM transfer can be done, these are -
    1) The table whose data is to be transfered from sender system to receiver system should exist in both the system.
    2) Key fields should be exactly identical.
    3) Their may be some extra fields in the receiver, this will not pose any issue but if their is an extra field in sender then its data could not be transferred. So to solve this either mark this table as not use or change the table in receiver to add the missing field.
As a part of TDTIM both the system will be analyzed for consistent repository and any discrepancy will be notified to the user then user needs to decide whether he marks the inconsistent table for no transfer or corrects the inconsistency before proceeding further.
    Best regards,

  • TDMS for HR Scrambling

    Hi,
I am BASIS consultnat worked on TDMS Time Slice, company code, shell and bpl for R/3  and Time slice and shell for BW.
Now my client asked to scarmbled HR data. Can any one help me to get the process to scramble HR data.
    I have question.
    1) In copying data from Production to QA, what data will be displayed in QA for the u201Cscrambledu201D fields?
My Client req is to scramble the following filelds
      00002 (infotype)
    filed name:
    Marital Status
    SSN
    Date of Birth
    Gender
    00006(infotype)
    Address Line 1
    Address Line 2

    State
    Zip Code
    Telephone number
    0008(infotype)
    PS Group
    Annual Salary
    0009 (infotype)
    Bank Key
    Bank Account
    2) How to handle scarmbling for transctiona data (eg for payroll checks)
In above they are reffering to master data ,how to handle in tarnsctional data
    Thanks

    Hi Venkata,
During customizing for scrambling for example u2018Date of Birthu2019 you need to maintain as a fixed value for example u201920-10-1980u2019 , so the values for this field will be scrambled using this fixed value and that is what the value you will see after transfer in this field .
You can also scramble payroll cluster data  using the scrambling customizing rules.
Can you check the link  on service market place for scrambling.

  • TDMS for saving FP

    Using LV2012 on WIN 7./ 32 bit.
I would like to know if its possible to save the whole information as in the attached FP ( of course no need to save the START / STOP buttons !!) Right now I am saving the Numeric indicator values as binary files and the graph as a waveform file as then displaying it in in a formatted report sheet.
Would this whole excercise be more simple if choose the TDMS format - I know its easy to handle the graph part but what about the other numeric indicator values ??

    Hi Raghunathan,
as we don't know your current solution we cannot say, how/if using TDMs would be simpler!
You can save your waveform data as TDMS signal and all those "numerc indicator" values as TDMS attributes. Well, try it and decide for yourself on the "simpler" condition…
