Telnet portlet

Has someone created a telnet portlet similar to the netlet in iplanet portal?

I haven't seen the portlet from iplanet, but perhaps one of these will meet your needs:

  • Telnet portlet not returning info to user, but receiving commands

    Hello,
    We are having some problems receiving data from the server in the telnet portlet. When a command is issued such as 'ls', nothing is returned to the user. The command is being received by the server because when you create a file and then check to see if the create file command was run, you will see a new file created. So the problem seems to be that the portlet is not able to read the info sent by the server.
    When you reload the portal page you get null errors returned in the portlet.
    In Mozilla the following browser error appears - document.cmdForm.userText has no properties.
    In IE the following browser error appears - document.cmdForm.userText is null or not an object.
    Has anyone had this same problem? Any insight on how to fix this???
    Thanks in advance,
    julia.

    I am experiencing exactly the same problem.
    Did anyone ever find a solution?
    The telnet portlet logs me in and I am able to run commands but cannot see any output from the portlet. For example if I create a directory via the telnet portlet and check on the server terminal I can see it has been created, but if I do an ls command via the portlet nothing is displayed on screen.
    The portlet was installed on 9ias v9.0.2.0.3, PDK v9.0.2.6.2 and Solaris 5.8

    Hi All,
    I have fixed an ArrayIndexOutOfBoundsException which was being thrown while the telnet applet was running. This has significantly improved the responsiveness of the applet.
    Those of you who are using or looking for a telnet portlet, please test this portlet out and give me your feed back.
    You may find the portlet at the following location in knowledge exchange,

    Hi,
    This is possible, actualy if you have the time you could just modify the source and get it going.
    Let me see, if i can make it. I shall make a few changes and upload the portlet soon. If your need is immediate, then contact me directly, i will guide you through the rest.

  • Telnet Portlet Issue

    I have downloaded and installed the Telnet Integration Portlet from potalstudio. I registered the provider and added the portlet to a portal page. From there I customize it with the server name, port (23), username, and password. From there I can't tell if I'm logged in or not. At the top of the portlet it says "Digital UNIX (challenger) (ttyp0)"...challenger is the server name. Below that I see the following:
    login:
    Password:null
    If I try to enter a command where it says "Enter Command here:" the command is not run. It simply displays the command that I ran such as 'ls' or the 'cd' command that I ran. Am I doing something wrong, am I connected but have something else wrong? Any help you could give would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

  • Help!!!: Telnet Portlet

    I installed it, in my environment and it works fine and cannot emulate my customer's problem:
    My customer installed it and tells me that when accessing any command, the response he gets is "null" He claims the echo terminal, tells him VT100 which is what the portlet emulates ... He gets this symptom in both HPUX 11.11 and Linux AS 2.1 ...
    Any ideas ???

    The workflow team is in the process of creating portlets for things like status and notifications. I believe they are planning to release them early next year, but you would need to confirm that with them.

  • JPDK java applet development

    Hi,
    I've been trying to develop a java applet application and deploy it on a portal page. I managed to use a HTML portlet to link the java applet through an URL. So far so good. But then I wonder is that a good way for this implementation? Can anyone share their experience.
    Furthermore, I'm trying to use the portal SSO for login. Is there any Java api to retrieve the SSO user id, so that I can past it to my Java applet application. I'm very interested for any sample code.
    Thanks!

    Hi Kevin,
    It is possible to develop a JPDK portlet and use it for deploying an applet on the client end. I have developed a simple example of a telnet portlet which is basically an applet which has been embedded into the portlet. The sample is available on Knowledge Exchange. You will need to sign-up for it, if you havent yet.
    http://portalstudio.oracle.com/pls/ops/community.comm_folder_download.get_item?p_folderid=538287&p_itemid=569449&p_caid=233
    Secondly, if your applet intends on accessing system resources on the client end, then you will have to sign your applet jar file.
    You can use the JPDK APIs to retrieve the userID (provided you only need the user id).
    PortletRenderRequest pReq = (PortletRenderRequest) request.getAttribute(HttpCommonConstants.PORTLET_RENDER_REQUEST);
    pReq.getUser().getName();
    Hope that helps,
    thanks,
    Harsha

  • Tn3270 Emulator

    We have implemented the Tn3270 Emulation portlet. Everything went smoothly up until the time we attempted to connect to the IBM server. Evidently, it runs on port 992. The portlet supports the default port of 23 but there is nothing in the documentation to tell how to over-ride the default and attempt to connect to the SSL port.
    I know this is not supported directly by Oracle. I just thought someone that had been experimenting with the integration portlets had come across a work-around.
    Thanks.

    Hi Imran,
    sorry for not responding before, I am investigating this issue currently. There is one more thing, i have an contribution in the knowledge exchange, it is a portalized telnet applet. Could you please try it in the mean time. I have tried using it against a 3270 instance locally, and it works fine. If you are still having issues connecting to the server, then i guess the problem is because of the way you are connecting and i will conduct some more investigation into that.
    You can find the application by accessing knowledge exchange and then searching for the contributions by [email protected] and download the java telnet portlet.
    in the mean time i am investigating the issue with TN3270 portlet.
    thanks,

  • Survey portlet error

    Hi,
    running 9.0.4.0.99 on windows:
    I found that when using a ui template, the survey form portlet won't work: once you press the first 'next' button and it calls the opc_survey_form_portlet.answer procedure you get an error: page cannot be found.
    Also if I try to load the procedure answer through 'show properties' under the database provider tab I get the same error: though both spec. and body have status 'valid'
    I see more questions regarding survey portlet esp. in combinastion with 9.0.4. has anybody gotten it to work properly yet?
    regards
    Marianne

    If the Studio service looks good on the remote server where Studio is installed (check that
    the service is started and look in the Studio logs for any warnings or errors), you should
    also verify the configuration settings in the Studio remote server object. Is it properly
    configured and pointing to the correct remote server?
    If so, check the portal servers access to the Studio server via the port specified in the remote
    server (default is 11935). You can test this by doing a telnet test on the portal server. In a cmd
    prompt (Windows) or on the CLI (Unix), type 'telnet [studioserver] 11935', where "<servername> is
    the name of your Studio remote server. The screen should just go blank, meaning that there is
    something accepting connections on that port on the given server. (We would hope it's the Studio
    app and not another service occupying that port.) If you get "Could not open connection to the host"
    or some such similar result, check that the network between the portal and the Studio remote server
    is open (ie, make sure there isn't any port blocking or a firewall in place that would hinder the
    communication between the two servers).

  • How do I enable JSR 168 portlet capability on Weblogic?

    How do I enable JSR 168 portlet capability on Weblogic?
    To enable JSR 168 portlet capability on Weblogic:
    1. Open one of the files listed below in a text editor:
    Windows: &lt;drive&gt;:\bea\weblogic81\common\bin\commEnv.cmd
    Unix: /apps/bea/weblgic81/common/bin/commEnv.sh
    2. Modify the file so that file qname.jar appears ahead of the weblogic.jar file in the system classpath. For example:
    CLASSPATH=%WL_HOME%\newscale_drivers\
    qname.jar;%WEBLOGIC_CLASSPATH%;%POINTBASE_CLASSPATH%;%JAVA_HOME%\jre\lib\rt.jar;%WL_HOME%\server\lib\webservices.jar ;%CLASSPATH%
    3. Copy the qname.jar file from &lt;newscale_installed_dir&gt; folder to ${WL_HOME}/newscale_drivers folder.
    For more information about newScale portlets, please see the JSR 168 Portlet Guide.

    Betreffend telnet und RV180:
    Unter dem Menü-Punkt:
    "Administration" - "Management Interface" - "Web Access"
    kann man "Remote Management" auf "enable" setzen
    und weiter unten auch den Punkt "Port" auswählen (Standardmässig HTTPS 443)
    Wofür steht diese "Remote Management" Einstellung, wenn nur HTTPS funktioniert?

  • How to Get Portlet Namespace in a JSP attribute

    Hi All,
    The id of any component in a JSF application (with JSR168 portlets) takes the form
    'view'+'<portlet:namespace/>'+':'+'formname:componentidname';
    I need this id to be used for certain validations.
    Currently I am using it as below :-
    <h:intputText required="#{ ! empty param['viewns_7_CGAH47L000NAF0I04I42ND10P7_:form:login']}"/>
    Presently I have hardcoded the portlet namespace 'ns_7_CGAH47L000NAF0I04I42ND10P7_' by looking into the html source of the rendered page.
    Is there any way by which i can automatically get this portlet namespace within the param tag in the jsp.
    I know for a fact that within javascript tags, it can be used as <portlet:namespace/> as shown below :-
    <script type="text/javascript">
    function doSomething()
    buttonId= 'view' + '<portlet:namespace/>'+':'+'formName:buttonId';
    document.getElementById(buttonId).disabled = true;
    </script>
    Kindly treat this on high priority.
    Thanks and Regards,
    Darshan Shroff

    Perhaps so.
    I need to use it within param as below
    <h:inputText value="#{bean.userid}"
    required="#{!empty param['viewns_7_CGAH47L00GLRE0I0BCOUKS00I5_:form:login']}" />
    Here 'viewns_7_CGAH47L00GLRE0I0BCOUKS00I5_:form:login' is actually
    'view' + '<portlet:namespace/>'+':'+'formName:buttonId';
    I am just trying to check the presence of the client ID in the request paramameter map inorder to attain action dependent requiredness.
    Kindly tell me how i could access it within param.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Darshan Shroff

  • How to get security roles in a JSF portlet

    I need to get the LDAP user-roles available in the Sun Portal Server 7 in my JSF-168 portlet.

  • Error while deploying a portlet application

    Hi guys,
    I have created a simple portlet displaying "Hello" string. Whenever I am trying to Simulate the Portlet application I am getting "HarnessPortletProvider" and the error is "Error in provider method getContent(): com.sun.portal.providers.ProviderException: JSPProvider.processJSPFile(): jsp=HarnessPortletContent.jsp, java.lang.NullPointerException". Please guide me if anybody has faced such problem.
    Regards

    Hi
    You get this exception if you are using "<security-role>" tags in your web.xml.

    But this file - /PortalContentBIReportsjspx_3715283e_0134_1000_8001_ac1801a53f3d.pxml exists in my local machine from where i am deploying. I have done the following things.
    1) there are no spaces between my project names
    2) I have also removed all unused producers from the mds folder in jdev.
    I feel that the MDS folder is not getting included while deploying , not sure.
    I am deploying the webcenter to a standalone WLS
    Can any one help me in this

    Hi Yannick,
    Thanks!!
    I was able to resolve it, actually there was a datasource mds-owsm which was being referred in my webcenter application and it was not targeted to the managed server where I was deploying the app, So once I added the target to include this managed server, the portlet was getting identified and getting consumed in my application.
    Quick question here I need to integrated BI presentation service in my webcenter, what will be the best way to do it and go about it?I had found an artcile in oracle docs but it is not working for me.Please suggest some better ways of doing this integration.
    Thanks for your help!!!

  • Display SAP R/3 table in a portlet with the SAP Adapter

    Hello everybody!
    I still can`t figure out the whole pictue of Bea Weblogic`s SAP Adapter.
    I installed the SAP Adapter (BEA_SAP_1_0_70.ear) and the Applicaton Explorer,
    made an Application View with the generated XML-Schema and the Template example
    in the WL Integration Studio. So what`s next??? (I want to make a portlet which
    displays a table from a BAPI request.) Any help would be helpful!
    Thanks 4 answering !
    Kind regards,
    uggar

    Hi Simon,
    Thanks for your inputs.
    Why the amount is changed in display mode only for WRBTR and not for DMBTR as both are of CURR datatype and created using same domain. I fail to understand any logic behind this.
    I have even created a ABAP report on this table which displys fields DMBTR and WRBTR, and in the report output following values are displayed.
    DMBTR 100.05
    WRBTR 100.05
    If anybody else has come across this before and has any clue please help.
    Thanks and Regards
    Shilpa
