Ten image test: Please post your specs and results!
I have a friend with a quad and a new MacBook(not PRO) and he is reporting great numbers on my "Ten image test"
Time the following:
Select 10 RAW files with NO adjustments. Export jpg original size.
Select 10 JPG files with NO adjustments. Export jpg original size(not export master)
Report your times, what camera the RAW files are from, as well as machine specs(machine, disks, RAM, and video card(single or dual monitors)
Results from the Macintelintosh Books(pro and 13") and iMacs would be nice also!

I am pretty sure there is a colission for resources... I have rebotted 30 times my PC today and I see a pattern.
After blue screen, my computer will not boot anymore. I have to disconnect the network cable ( I presume to avoid some kind of initialization) or if I am lucky and I can start in safe mode, disable the network interface.
With network disabled, after blue screen ( the usual suspect nv4_mini.sys ) I can reboot without problems, eitehrwise forget it...
Currently, I manage to see color video ( and movement ) when I put into capture mode in Ulead. However, as soon as I request it to start capturing, .... blue screen.
I have dig the whole internet and a lot of people is under the same hassel from all vendors selling video-in FX series.
I have already gone to safe mode, uninstall everything possible and installed piece by piece from start... same results.
any hints I will try.

First I don't have a clue to what your problem is but...
Yes I can capture with my FX5600-vtdr-128 video card...I can do it in two programs,Studio9 and Roxio DVD creator..The only rub is huge white bars pop in and out of the capture sometimes..Particularly after a glitch in the video..Were talking home movies not commercial copying..As near as I can tell from a google search it's the Nvidia WDM driver thinking that it has to block Macrovision..Good luck,

I have a windows PC with windows 8.1 and have had it for 13 months. I have PE 9 installed and have been using it without a single problem when out of the blue I can't open the Organizer. I can open the editor but not the organizer. When I attempt to open it I get this...Direct x is installed but can't be initiated. Please reboot your system and then relaunch Elements organizer. Obviously, I have done this many, many times. I have had two computer experts look through my computer for a total of 13 hours and neither one of them knows what the problem is. One of them thought the issue might be bad graphics driver but the other computer guy thought that was definitely not it.
The second technician thought it was a corrupt file somewhere in the catalog. We downloaded a trial version of PE 12 and tried to open that and it won't open either. Seriously at my wits end here. I'm willing to pay to have this fixed. I've already spent hundreds of dollars to no avail. Rest of the computer works flawlessly.
We have done everything that has been posted here on this topic without success. Rebuild the thumbnail cache, repair the catalog via the catalog manager, gone in and made sure that Direct x was actually turned on...it is! I'm truly expecting a miracle as this is basically my last resort. I have over 30,000 images and just don't know what to do. Clearly installiung a new program is not the answer as PE 12 trial version came up with the same issue. HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!....PLEASE!!!!!!!!!Hi,

Benchmark song - please post your observations
I am thinking of going all software. Selling most of my hardware synths. I don't know which computer to go for but I would like to be able to make all types of music and video work. Can you go thru the post below (I copied from the archived post) and post your observations? Macbook pros (C2D) are nice but can they handle orchestral work? Macpros are fast but difficult to carry around, of course. How well do the EWQLSO vsts and such play on the newest macs? How much is the delay loading samples? Hardware synths usually have no delay loading patches.
Thanks to all of you who gave results on the first benchmark song. This one is very similar, instead of using Space Designer it uses Sculpture. Each track has 15 notes on each, so for polyphony multiply tracks by 15.

My results: Quad 2.5, 4.5 gigs ram, 10.4.5, Logic 7.1.1, MOTU 828mk2, buffer 512
39 tracks, polyphony 585, CPU use in Activity monitor maxed about 340%.If your looking to do orchestral mockups using samples, running a sculpture/space designer based benchmark test will not give you the answers you seek. Sculpture & space designer are both CPU based effects/instruments, where orchestral mockups are RAM based (for the most part). Of course CPU is needed to run your players (Kontakt, play, VSL VI, etc) as well as reverbs (convolution reverbs use a lot of CPU) but your actual orchestra will be streaming from RAM & Hard Disk.
Thus macpro desktops are currently the best way to go, as you have more RAM access & multiple internal HD's. Thats not to say you cant get comparable results using a macbook pro, but seeing as how all my studio equipment is in my studio, desktop works great for me.
I wonder if its possible to do a similar benchmark test using Logic's EXS & factory samples instead of sculpture? Of course the factory patches are much smaller than the massive instruments found in VSL/EastWest, but I'm sure someone could put one together. I'd be interested to see the results. -

I read the posting regarding the options on Hotsyncing for Windows 7; however, I have some questions as I have a 64-bit system.
I have a Visor Pro that I'm trying to Sync up with my new laptop which is running Windows 7.
Steps I have taken:
* installed the Visor Palm Desktop 3.0.1 that came with the Visor (which the installation went well)
* The issue arises when I push the "Sync" button on the cradle and the following error message appears "The connection between your handheld computer and the destktop could not be established. Please check your setup and try again."
Since I have a 64-bit OS it appears that I have 2 options: 1) bluetooth or 2) Infrared.
I have to admit I don't know know how to do either of these (how can I tell if this Handspring Visor Pro has bluetooth (which I don't it does)?).
Then how about the Infrared option? I see on the PDA it has a red area that one can "beam" info. Is this the same as Infrared or my 2nd option?
I love my Visor and want to continue using it, but need to backup the valuable info!
Any help with this would be greatly appreciated!

Your Visor, as you suspect, does not have Bluetooth, so you must use the IR HotSync option. Since you are using Windows 7 64-bit, I believe that you are going to have to upgrade to Palm Desktop 6.2.2 to make things work from an OS/Driver perspective.
Since you are using such an old device, you are also going to have to download and install the PalmHotSyncSetup Utility from Pimlico. This update turns on support for old Palm OS PDAs in Palm Desktop 6.2.2. Without the update, you won't be able to sync your Visor with Palm Desktop 6.2.2. The software is free and the link is all the way at the bottom of the screen.
Lastly, if your PC doesn't have an IR port on it, you will need to purchase a USB to IR adapter. Some laptops still have IR ports and most desktops don't.
Once you have all the pieces, you'll want to go back to the Windows 7 and Vista HotSync thread again, and follow the directions for setting up and configuring IR HotSyncs.

I am running XP SP 2, on a Dell Vostro 1000, Palm OS Garnet v5.4.7 on a Tungsten E2. I have worked though issues relating to synchronization, Outlook 2007, Docs to Go, etc., in the past. Thank you board members!
Once I worked thru all the initial problems, my Tungsten E2 was sync' ing beautifully to my laptop until a few days ago. There have been no changes (I know of) to the configuration, but now I receive "The connection between your device and the desktop could not be established. Please check your setup and try again." On the laptop I sometimes get "USB device not recognized." I am unclear why I get the PC message sometimes and not others.
I have tried the following: (not necc exactly in this order)
Double checked Hot Sync Mgr settings: Local USB (ver. 6.0.1)
Reset the Palm (multiple times)
Rebooted the laptop (multiple times before and after the Palm resets)

Tried all four USB ports - the PC's bell-like tone does not sound when I disconnect or reconnect the Plam's cradle like it does when I conn/disconnect other USB devices -I think that is a clue. ...?
Cleaned the Palm's contacts (and cradle's contacts with a old, dry toothbrush)
Read all the posts under "USB device not recognized."

This seems to be the most recent similar post. Prior posts are not useful as they have supposedly been fixed. The most relevant Microsoft connect case has been closed. The reported new Microsoft connect case has been deleted without explanation.

Yet, still the problem persists. Only working on one small XAML file. VS2013 and Blend always report "There is not enough virtual memory available. Please save your work and restart {0}" (except when they report "Package 'DesignPackage'
failed to load" when run in safe mode) Saved my work and restarted VS2013, Blend, and the computer. Followed all other suggestions as much as possible.
There is an abundant available and virtual memory. The only changes from last week to this is Microsoft updates.
Has there been any new effort on this issue that I have missed?
What is left to do?Get IT to do it. Get them to uninstall all the latest updates, since you can identify them as a proximal cause of the problem. Also, search MS Knowledge Base or do some googling for the exact error text.

can any one tell me what is that mean..... replace what ?In most cases, what you said is true...however, this is not always the case. Take myself for example...
1: I posted my phone online to sell
2: Someone saw my serial number and called AppleCare to get a replacement phone
3: An inferior AppleCare representative bypassed a component validation (check serial number to the device on hand) and approved the replacement under my AppleCare plan.
4: After noticing this (about 4 days after it happened) and a trip to Apple and a call to AppleCare, all was resolved. My phone is back to being covered under AppleCare+
5: I learned my lesson.
So, as you can see, there is a chance that it can be something else. Although, if the person selling the phone notices, it shouldn't take long to resolve it. Chances are that it is what you said.

I have bought an E65, but I have a question.
When I call every peoples say me they listen me very low, (then my old phone 6630), I have try with three models of headset with cable, and without headset.
I have try to record my voice and It's true! The microphone volume it's very low then the old 6630!
This is normal? Is a problem or my phone or what? Exist the possibility to boost microphone?

first thing I noticed when i started making calls with my e65, a little scale is shown on the top left of the display for the conversation volume and you can adjust it with the cursor keys (left/right) during phone calls. The factory setting was in the middle of the scale and sounded pretty low, so I cranked it up immediately to top volume, after which I've always heard and been heard loud and clear. I don't know whether you already noticed that, because this setting appears only DURING active phone calls, so you might wanna give it a try...

K8n neo2-f nf3 ultra board - onboard nic problem? Please post your experiences
I just ordered the k8n neo2-f nf3 ultra board, with a venice 3500+ chip, from newegg. I saw various posts on the mobo, however, from people who said the onboard nic doesn't work right out of the box, that they had to go in and manually enter the mac address in Windows that they retrieved from a sticker on the parallel port.
I can deal with a problem like that easily, but I find it hard to believe MSI would ship such a defective board design as that. Is this really the commonplace experience with this board? Okay I typed my address under the "network addapters" and I still do not have any internet access. I even tried to reboot...and nothing. My computer knows when I have a cable hooked up to the port. It will tell me "network cable connected" or "network cable unplugged." I hooked up my netgear network card and I was able to get online.
Should I be messing with the "authentication" tab and/or the IEEE 802.1x setting?
My windows 2k computer has a broadcast "node type" while me K*N Neo2 board does not have a line for node type (under ipconfig). Also my XP computer does not have a line that will tell me the values for: DHCP Server and DNS Servers. It also has a no value for the default gateway line. It DOES have a value for the "Connection Specific DNS Suffix". It is for comcast.
I hope all this is not too confusing. I was trying to list all the questionable settings. What should I try next?

Well, if you're wondering about the 'dhcp server', 'dns servers', 'default gateway', etc., that is all in the 'Network Connections' folder which can be reached from the Control Panel. To get to those settings, you right-click on the 'local area connection' that corresponds to the onboard lan, and click 'properties'. Then, select 'network protocol(tcp/ip)' in the list of networking components and click the 'properties' button. That will bring up the set of tabs where you can set those properties (although there is no 'dhcp server' address setting, just the option to either specify an address or use dhcp to automatically assign an address).
I get the impression, though, that you're saying if you slap in a pci network card, it connects right away, so I doubt any of those settings are needed (unless you left out the part about going into the tcp/ip settings for the pci nic and specifying an address, etc., which I doubt you did). Have you considered contacting msi tech support on the problem? If it's a new board, I'm sure you're entitled to free tech support. It seems like, with all of the chatter on these boards over this issue, they should be well aware of it and be familiar with the ways to 'fix' it. -

i'm using pcalert4, and it shows:
CPU idle=45 Celcius
CPU when playing games=60 Celcius
System Temperature = 29-32 Celcius
please post yours, please... because, i think it is too hot for p4 to have that kind of temperature.

I don't think MSI (nor any other manufacturer) has a step to calibrate the temperature sensors, so the answer is - not much
They are just relative temp readings, and probably vary from board to board.

Air cooling is achieved by transferring heat from hotter components to the cooler air. This will raise the temperature of the exhaust, but never higher than your hottest component. It actually depends where the sensor is located. If you put a card on the PCI slot above the Winbond chip, you would probably observe higher SYS temperatures. -

I had purchased an iPhone 5 last month and got the OS updated to iOS 7, yesterday.
The data cable was of very bad quality and when I took it to the retailer for replacement, they said that its not covered under the one year warranty.
Secondly, I have also been experiencing network coverage issues with this phone. So, I decided to contact apple care through the web. When entering my serial number/IMEI it says, "We're sorry, but this is a serial number for a product that has been replaced. Please check your information and re-enter your serial number. If your information is correct, you may need to contact us."
Does anybody have any idea what the reason behind this could be.

TA24260 Connection attempt to Apple web site was unsuccessful.
