Terminal session not supported by your computer

I can login to my work environment but when I try and initiate a remote session link to my work computer, I get an error message that says "This terminal session is not supported by your computer."
I need to be able to log in and remotely access my PC at work. Any suggestions are appreciated.....

what OS on your work computer? What is already installed on it to allow remote control? Is that software enabled?
If remote os is MacOs - Apple Remote Desktop is actually server component, I mean it is not included in desktop MacOs of your home mac. But search can help.
If remote os is Win - you need this: http://www.microsoft.com/mac/remote-desktop-client on home mac
and in both cases - proper configuration.
anyway you need properly configured tunneling thru workplace firewall, so some assistance from admin.

I have bought a new macbook pro and  use Juniper VPN to connect to my work machine (Windows). Below are the steps I perform to connect to my terminal session
    1) Login to the VPN url.  for example -  https://secure.mycompany.com/
    2) Enter the UserID and Password
    3) Connect to the Terminal sessions configured.
Now, When I try to launch the terminal session, I recieve an error message saying "This terminal session is not supported on your computer".
Any help on resolving this issue is highly appreciated.

    SMC version 2.2f44 (SMC 1.8) (http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1633)

If you are unsure whether your computer needs a particular update, simply download and open the update installer. The installer will alert you if the firmware update is already installed or not needed."
and instead of a message telling me of the proper update
"This software is not supported on your system."
So, why would the manual updater not tell me I already have the proper SMC and EFI updates?
What is the reason I get the message that the software I downloaded from Apple Support is not supported on my system?
Is this indicative of a larger problem with my MACBOOK PRO?

    [email protected],
why were you trying to reïnstall the Boot ROM and SMC versions that were already installed on your MacBook Pro?
I agree that  a “not supported” message is certainly less clear than an “already installed” message would have been.

  • Raid Utility Error Message "raid utility is not supported on this computer"

I am not doing anything that I know of, but Raid Utility keeps opening up on its own, and a message pops up multiple times a day telling me "raid utility is not supported on this computer"
Anyone have any idea how to fix this?

Network startup is if you want to start your macbook using a network drive.
Keep your startup settings at your current drive.
Raid utility doesn't apply to you since you only have one hard drive installed, unless you installed another hard drive in your optical bay.
Fibre Channel is another type of hard drive connection via network connection.
You can't access things you don't have installed in your macbook.  Those are there in case you decide to have a network drive start up options, a raid configuration of a fibre channel network drive.

  • The restor pocess did not succeed because your computer cannot connect to the server - Windows Server 2012 R2 Essentials Experience

    Hi all
I've been running Windows Server 2012 R2 with the Essentials Experience in test for a Windows 8.1 client environment, on an HP ProLiant MicroServer N54L. Overall I've found the Essential Experience set-up over WHS2011 and WHSv1 okay; still looking to extract
any real value over the former versions.
This box has been up and running for a few months now, with client backups of a Win 8.1 box scheduled and running successfully every day. However when trying to conduct any file restores from the backups, to the client, I receive an error dialog once I go
    through motions from the Dashboard:
On the 'Devices' tab, right-click the appropriate client and select 'Restore files or folders for the computer'
'Restore Files of Folders' dialog pops up, asking me to 'Choose a backup' from the list of all the backups that have run
Select any one in the list - have tried numerous backups; automatic, manual, etc. same result every time
Brings up the dialog to 'Choose a volume', choose either C: or D: partitions of the same fixed drive - again, no difference which one I choose, the outcome is the same
'Opening the volume' dialog starts, with progress bar, runs to about 4% complete the pops up the dialog 'The restore process did not succeed'. Full error in the dialog, "The restore process did not succeed because your computer cannot connect to the
server. Make sure that the computer is connected to the networkm and then try again
If my computer cannot connect to the server - how can I get that far? How can I open the dashboard, select a client, select from a list of backups, select a volume to restore, etc. What is going on here?

  • Hot Fix error message for KB979344 "this update is not applicable to your computer", on Windows 7 64 bit with SP1

I've been having issues with an external Esata drive.  Instead of being seen as a removeable drive, it is seen as a hard drive.  This has caused us nothing but problems since our full disk encryption software automatically starts to encrypt
    the drive rendering it useless.
The real problem I'm having is installing the Hot Fix, KB979344, for this issue.  when tring to install, I get the message, "this update is not applicable to your computer"  I've looked and this hot fix doesn't seem to be part of SP1, but
I could be missing it.  Any thoughts?
    Thanks,
    Keith

    Hi Keithk,
This hotfix is already contained in Windows 7 Service Pack 1.
Please add the registry key to check if the issue persists. (For added protection, back up the registry before you modify it. Then, you can restore the registry if a problem occurs.  )
    Navigate to: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Storage
Create a DWORD Value, name SATAHotplugPolicyOverride,
    set 1 in Value Data.
Restart the computer to check if it works.

  • HT5219 My Macbook Air (Late 2010) Will not let me install Thunderbolt to Gigabit Ethernet adapter software. It says "This software is not supported on your system." What can I do to stop this and install the adapter software?

    Help me

"This software is not supported on YOUR SYSTEM" seems to be a recurring theme in Apple Support site offerings for MacBook Pros and I suspect that Apple didn't really work this issue thoroughly enough to make their hardware updates viable.
You are not alone, Raigbow.  Many MacBook Pro users are finding the Apple Support update packages are not doing what their support instructions indicate should be happening.
I believe this is a bigger issue of Apple not thinking of previously sold units as worthy of solid support.  After the one year warranty, unless you buy more warranty - and I have - the half-hearted but very thorough documentation of non-working "fixes" shows they aren't all that concerned with your happiness as a user.... Only as a potential buyer of the next Apple showcase item.
After that, they will be on to the next big thing.  Kind of like the Japanese model, in which old things are discarded.
But save your work, your data, as the only fix the manufacturer will offer is to wipe your drive and reinstall the original software.
Or use the iCloud to save everything you do and value, since the device you use to access it is short-term.. Don't get too attached to your MAC, because it is terminal in nature.

  • Unable to install the security patches KB2677070 in Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1 (The update is not applicable to your computer)

    Dear everyone,
We are trying to install the below KB in our windows server 2008 R2 SP1, however, it will show "The update is not applicable to your computer". There is no problems to install the other patches except this one. Do anyone have idea about it?
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2677070
    Thanks,
    Users

    Hi,
According to this KB article, there are many exceptions where this KB is not applicable.
    Please perform the following steps:
Expand the “For all supported…” title in the File Information section in the KB article.
Find Crypt32.dll.mui files on your machine.
Then compare the file version, file size, data and time with the ones listed in the KB article.
If there is a match, then this KB doesn’t apply to your machine, which is by design.
    Hope this helps.
    Best Regards,

  • RSAT Tools won't install (the update is not applicable to your computer) in build 9926

Trying to install Remote Server Administration Tools in Windows 10 Technical Preview build 9926
    Downloaded WindowsTH-KB2693643-x64.msu
Gives error "the update is not applicable to your computer"

    Hi SeanSauve,
The below is the information I quoted from the system requirements part on the download page:
    Supported Operating System
                        Windows 10 , Windows 10 Tech Preview , Windows 8.1
**Remote Server Administration Tools for Windows 10 Technical Preview can be installed ONLY on computers that are running the second release of Windows 10 Technical Preview.** Remote Server Administration Tools cannot be installed on Windows
RT, computers with an Advanced RISC Machine (ARM) architecture, or other system-on-chip devices.
Remote Server Administration Tools for Windows 10 Technical Preview runs on both x86- and x64-based editions of builds 9926 and later releases of Windows 10 Technical Preview, including all updates.  This release does not run on Windows 10 Technical
Preview builds that are older than 9926. Download and install the version that matches the architecture of the computer on which you plan to install the administration tools. If you are not sure whether your computer is x86- or x64-based, see
How to determine whether a computer is running a 32-bit version or 64-bit version of the Windows operating system.
Remote Server Administration Tools for Windows 10 Technical Preview is available only in United States English (en-US) for this release.
IMPORTANT: Remove all older versions of Administration Tools Pack or Remote Server Administration Tools—including older prerelease versions, and releases of the tools for different languages or locales—from the computer before you install Remote
Server Administration Tools for Windows 10 Technical Preview. Only one copy at a time of Remote Server Administration Tools can be installed on a computer. If you have upgraded to Windows 10 Technical Preview from an older release of Windows, you will need
to install Remote Server Administration Tools for Windows 10 Technical Preview on the computer; no earlier releases of Remote Server Administration Tools are still installed on a computer that you have upgraded to Windows 10 Technical Preview.
Remote Server Administration Tools for Windows 10 Technical Preview includes support for remote management of computers that are running the Server Core installation option or the Minimal Server Graphical Interface configuration of Windows Server Technical
Preview. However, Remote Server Administration Tools for Windows 10 Technical Preview cannot be installed on any releases or installation options of the Windows Server operating system.
Earlier releases of Remote Server Administration Tools (such as those for Windows 8.1) are not available--nor do they run--on Windows 10 Technical Preview.
Server Manager is included with Remote Server Administration Tools for Windows 10 Technical Preview; GUI-based tools that are part of this release of Remote Server Administration Tools can be opened by using commands on the Tools menu of the Server Manager
console. To use Server Manager to access and manage remote servers that are running Windows Server 2008, Windows Server 2008 R2, Windows Server 2012, or Windows Server 2012 R2, you must install several updates on the older operating systems. For more information
about requirements for using Server Manager to manage remote servers, see
Manage multiple, remote servers with Server Manager.
    More information, see:
Remote Server Administration Tools for Windows 10 Technical Preview (January 2015)
Please check and see if your current build is Windows 10 build 9926, and the system language, RSAT should not be able to install on the other language versions of Windows 10 other than EN-US.

  • Stuck in an update loop, 3 of 3, do not turn off your computer

    Hello,
We have all the updates ,update automatically.  During this last one, today, our server has shut down and is in a constant loop.  We are getting that the drives are both fine, but there is one error on the start up that has me concerned:
    BMC System Error {SEL} Full
The system goes through "Configuring updates" Stage 3 0f 3, do not shut down, then on to a blank screen, then restarts on its own, goes through the whole start up, everything looks good except for that BMC error, than the microsoft is loading...and
right back into "Configuring updates", blank screen - its been on a continuous loop for about a half hour now.
Suggestions?  The computer does not stay on long enough to do anything, and it never actually gets to a start menu..

"This software is not supported on your system."
    please help me thanks

OK, so the firmware is the same as mine, and yet Apple Support offered this EFI and SMC update packages, which should give a message that our computers are updated.
However, the update packages fail to run.
Did Apple neglect to give the correct update for the mid-2012 issue of MacBook Pro 13-inch?  I have the i7 Intel processor, instead of the i5, and I was sold this unit as having two processors, but the System info only lists a single processor.
Is one of the problems with Intel-based MacBook Pro units that the integration wasn't without bugs that cause processor hang when running the OS Lion, even with updates to 10.7.5?
Shouldn't the EFI and SMC updaters run on these machines as stated in the Apple Support article?
What will Apple do for these customers?

    ALCON,
I'm trying to install a "Windows Update Standalone Installer" file (Windows6.1-KB3032323-x64.msu) along with other .msu files and I keep getting the same message: "The update is not applicable to your computer".  The server is a

*Note*  The system is located in a classified environment so it doesn't have a connection to the outside (unclassified) world.  But I'm able to have the .msu files placed on the system at any time.
