Text conditions

Hi.
First of all sorry but english is not my mother tongue.
My question: I'm working editing manuals for high tech equipments. Those manuals are in 6 languages (one manual for each language, not 6 languages in one manual). I'm using Conditional text (one condition for each language) for adresses, references, etc.
I wanna do one thing but I don't know how. We have User manuals and Installation manuals. I wanna have 6 conditions for languages and 2 conditions for user and for installation manuals. If I select the conditions User manual and English I wanna see "User manual". If I pick User manual an Spanish I wanna see "Manual de usuario". If I pick Installation manual and English, then "Installation manual". Etc.
I can do this making User an Installation conditions inside every language condition, but it's very tiresome. I just want 8 text conditions, not 6*2=12.
Is it possible? Could I apply 2 conditions to some text? I know that I can apply 2 conditions to one text but if only one of the conditions is chosen the text is displayed. I wanna that the text was displayed only if both conditions were selected.
Thanks in advance.

Yes but I should have 18 labels:
English (for weights, references, and other stuff)
English Installation manual (just for text 'Installation manual')
English User manual (just for text 'User manual')
Spanish (for weights, references, and other stuff)
Spanish Installation manual (just for text 'Manual de instalación')
Spanish user manual (just for text 'Manual de usuario')
French
And I don't want 18 text conditions labels.

  • Issues using Oracle Text conditions

    Hi all,
I'm facing an issue executing a query on a VIEW using Oracle Text Indexes.
The DB version I'm using is "Enterprise 9.2.0.5".
TEST_VIEW is an sql-view that has a query on several tables where one of them has two Oracle Text indexes, one on field FIELD2 and another on FIELD3
executing this query I get 10 rows:
    select *
    from TEST_VIEW
    where FIELD1 = 1001 -- regular condition
    and (contains(FIELD2, 'Blitz') > 0 ) -- Oracle text condition
But if I add another condition on an existent Oracle Text Index, I'll get only 1 row:
    select *
    from TEST_VIEW
    where FIELD1 = 1001
    where (contains(FIELD2, 'Blitz') > 0 OR contains(FIELD3, 'Blitz') > 0)
As you can see the third condition was added using a logical OR, so I should get at least 10 rows ...
    Can anyone help me ?
    ThaNks in advance.
    Eduardo.

    Eduardo,
Without a full test case, it is hard to see if there is something wrong or not. I did the following, and all worked fine on my 10g instance. I had to assume some things, but I at least think I have the basic gist of your inquiry in this example. Run it/change it to match your situation, and post back when you can.
    Thanks,
    Ron

  • Display a text conditionally in a form view

    Hi Experts,
I have a BAPI being used as a data service in my model.
    It returns a table.
If that table is empty, i need to diplay a plain text message "Success".
If the table has atleast one entry, I should display a text message "Not Success".
How can this be achieved in Visual Composer?
    Regards,
    Ravi Kanth Talagana

Drag a line from the output port of the bapi and select "Aggregate Data".
Select the new sigma operator that was added to the storyboard and in the configure element task panel select the field that you want to count and in the sigma field select 'count'.
Drag a line from the out port of the Sigma operator and select form view.
In the "Select Display Fields" box - select the field that the was counted by the sigma.
Add a plain text control to the form. Select the control properties and in the Label field at the Display tab write the formula - "IF((@ - select the field from the form>0),'Succeess','Not Success')"

  • Hidden Text / Conditional Formatting

How do I hide text in a pages document? I use pages to prepare exams for teaching and in MSWord I used to have the answers to the questions included in the document as hidden text. How do I do this in Pages? Is this possible at all? Setting the text color to white is often not feasible because this would result in large white areas (and I would have a hard time to find my text again)

Maybe the "Change Tracking" feature would be a soluce.
If it doesn't, Move back to my proposal.
Save the document with the responses greyed.
open it search all item in the grey style, call my cut_sparse script
print what is the students version.
Back to the complete one, disable the grey style
print what is the teacher version.
Save the script as an Application or an Application Bundle: cut_sparse.app
Move the newly created application into the folder:
    <startup Volume>:Users:<yourAccount>:Library:Scripts:Applications:Pages:
    Go to a Pages document
select some text, contiguous or sparse
    menu Scripts > cut_sparse
The script will put in the clipboard the selected text inserting a return between different chunks.
    --(SCRIPT cut_sparse.app]
    tell application "Pages"
    activate
    tell document 1
    set sel to (get selection)
set k to count of sel
    repeat with i from k to 1 by -1
    select (item i of sel)
(* I didn't found an other way to remove the selected text *)
    tell application "System Events" to tell application process "pages" to keystroke "x" using {command down}
    end repeat
    end tell
    end tell

  • Show/Hide conditional text at a book level

I am using TCS2 on Windows XP.
    FM 9.0 p250
I have several files as part of a large FM book. Each file has the same text conditional tags. Can I, at a book level, set my conditions to show/hide, etc. and then update the book? So far, I only know how to open each file, set the SHOW/HIDE CONDITIONAL TEXT as I need it (not to show conditiona indicators and according to my built expression) and then save and close each file.
Is there a way to do all my files at once? Note- I want them all set the same way... so that might make it easier..
    Thanks,

I don't have FrameMaker available right now, so I'm working from memory, using the traditional FrameMaker menus, rather than the FM 9 tools.
Select all the files in the book window. With the book window active, open the View menu and look for Conditional Text. Your settings here apply to all selected files in the book window, so it's possible to set conditions on all or some files files. Ctrl+Click to select non-contiguous files; Shift+Click to select a range of contiguous files.

  • Conversion with Conditional Text in Table

I'm taking the first steps in converting Unstructured Frame to Structure. One document is pretty clean except for one issue: my structure breaks around conditional text in tables. (The tables have a f3ew issues oftheir own, but the conditional text seems to compound the problem) I'm not sure how this should be dealt with. The structure tags are shown in the view below.
And here is the Structure View:
Is this something that can be set up with a qualifier, and if so, How? Also, in the conversion map table, Is there any order dependency, as well, concerning where the Conditional Text element appears?

    Jane,
As far as I am concerned I do not see anything unexpected. You get dotted lines in the Structure View apparently because the element <B1_Body1> seems not to be allowed in the Element <CELL>. It looks like you worked with the defaults of the Conversion Table. Have you created your own EDD and imported the Element Definitions? Is <B1_Body1> a legal element inside <CELL>?
From my experience the Conditional Text feature works very much in parallel to the element structure. It comes from the format-based world and the structure has no means to handle text conditions. If you want to work with text conditions in the future, you would use »attribute-based condition management« as made possible through the plug-in AXCM or FrameMaker’s built-in feature »Filter by attribute«. There is no built-in method to change text conditions into certain attribute values – but it is possible to automate this move via the FDK or FrameScript or ExtendScript (from FM10).

  • Redetermination of Texts, Partners and Conditions

    Hi everyone.
The purchase order is raised against a contract with delivery requirement to a specific plant.
Immediately prior to delivery, it is possible that the plant might change. At which point, the system redetermines the texts, conditions and partners.
Is is possible to prevent or by-pass this redetermination as a lot of PO history is maintained in the texts and the business do not want to duplicate on master data creation for both plants.
Any help will be gratefully received.
    many thanks,
    Col

    hi,
The texts could be determined at the time of formation of PO...
Conditions could be determined at PO, PIR etc...
Partner are mainly determined at IR ie. at the time of Payment to vendor....
No it can't be done in the std SAP system....
    Pls check...

  • Conditional text blocks: text missing if second condition met

    Hi
I'm very new to BI Publisher
I have an rtf template which needs to display one of two blocks of text conditional on the value in a field.
The email is produced just fine if I have a case of somebody who meets the first condition, but if somebody meets the second condition I get a blank email. I think I have my conditional tags set properly (Tools>Validation says 'No errors found') but here's what I have in the template
    <?if: G.RSH_LEAVE_CODE = ‘SUSP’?>
    Suspension Text goes here
    <?if: G.RSH_LEAVE_CODE = ‘ABSENT’?>
    Absence text goes here
    <?endif?><?endif?>
    Any help appreciated

    Do this
    <?if: G.RSH_LEAVE_CODE = ‘SUSP’?>
    Suspension Text goes here
    <?endif?>
    <?if: G.RSH_LEAVE_CODE = ‘ABSENT’?>
    Absence text goes here

  • Delete text option when deleting a Conditional Text Style

I now have a document with my first real Conditional Text items. We have many distributors with different product numbers. I am using Conditional Text for the product numbers. Great. But! what if we lose a distributor? Right now, if I delete a Conditional Text condition, I am asked what condition I would like to replace it with. What I would probably like to do is actually delete all of the text assigned to that condition, not just delete the condition. As it is now, if I delete the condition, I still would have to go back and delete the text relating to that condition. Not too handy.

    JustBob wrote:
That Find/Replace Format does not seem so obvious to me...
    Find the condition-to-drop
then Replace with Format empty...That wouldn't just change the format to unconditional? It would actually delete the text?
Well, only one way to find out. Yes! You are correct. I would never have thought of that. Thank you.
Now that you mention it, I'm not exactly sure why it seemed obvious to me. The real reason that it works isn't simply that Replace with Format is empty, but rather that both Replace with Format and Change to are empty.
If you Find what: specific text - say letter "a" - whose Find format: is <conditionname> and Change to: letter "b" with Change format: Empty, "a" changes to "b" and the condition stays the same.
If you Find what: specific text - say letter "a" - whose Find format is <conditionname> and Change to: is empty with Change format: <differentconditionname>, or different text color, or <characterstylename>, letter "a" remains the same, and the condition, text color, or character style, is applied.
It takes a while to get used to.

  • Instructions "if-then-else" in the texte

    Hello
I need to create a RTF template with the management of civility :

Hello civility, how are you ?
    civility represents the condition+
How to operate this condition in the texte?

I tried to include all the text in the text condition, but the number of characters is 384 characters to restrain.

  • Creation of new conditions in reports

    hi,
plz tell me the steps in creating new conditions in reports.what is the difference b/n conditions and new conditions?
    thanks ,
    jack

    Hi Jack,
You can formulate conditions in the query designer to make data analysis more efficient. In the results area of the query, the data is filtered according to the conditions so that only the part of the results area that you are interested in is displayed.
    Procedure
Choose New Condition. (You can find this menu entry in the Query Designer toolbar under This graphic is explained in the accompanying text to the right of This graphic is explained in the accompanying text Condition). The Define Condition dialog box appears.
Specify a name for the condition in the Description field.
Note:If you only want to define the condition and not execute it actively in the query, remove the check from the active, which was set by default.
You now have the following options:
If the condition lines below are to be evaluated independent of one another for all of the characteristics in the drilldown and you want to use the same condition for multiple characteristics of the query, select Evaluate Conditions Below for All Characteristics in the Drilldown Independently.
You can choose from the following operators for threshold conditions:
       Is equal to
    -         Is not equal to
    -         Is less than
    -         Is greater than
    -         Is less than or equal to
    -         Is greater than or equal to
    -         Is between (is in the interval)
    -         Is not between (is not in the interval)
These operators demand a floating point number as a value. For the operators is in interval and is not in interval, you must enter a value area, that is, a lower and an upper threshold value.
You can choose from the following operators for ranked list functions:
    ¡        Top N
    ¡        Bottom N
    ¡        Top percent
    ¡        Bottom percent
    ¡        Top sum
    ¡        Bottom sum
You can find additional information about using operators for range lists under Conditions.

  • Condition line to be displayed or not to be displayed in Purchase Order

    Hi,
We want to see some condition lines from the calculation schema to be displayed under condition tab in Purchase order and some condition lines not to be displayed
Can anyone provide some idea how this can be achieved?
    Thanks in advance

This is not a case of automatic determination of condition records. We want to control condition types with no access sequence & no condition records and some text condition lines (statistical) in the calculation schema.
Basically, we don't want the following from the calculation schema to be displayed automatically under condition tab in Purchase Order
    1. Few condition types without any condition record (if required to put manually in PO those can be chosen by pressing F4) &
    2. Some Text lines (those have been used only for calculation purpose in the calculation schema)
    Awaiting an effective response
    Thanks in advance
