Text Symbol Translation Based on Customers Default Language

I have a task to translate the text in an email acknowledgement based on the Customer's default language. The email is just a basic report program. I have created Text Symbols for the text and created the various language translations. Is there any way to trigger the translations to occur based on the Customer's default language instead of the language of the User's sign on?

Thank you. Though this command doesn't work for what I need, it lead me in the right direction.
SET LANGUAGE is the command that will dynamically change the language.

Translating text symbols and selection texts in abap report

Hi All,
I have devolped a report and in that translation of selction texts and text symbols is required.
Problem: In abap text elements in the report i have gone for goto->translation->and then i have tried to translate by giving the target language as DE and changed all the texts but when i am tring to save it is showing a message that 'STILL 54 OF 54 TEXTS TO BE PROCESSED'.
Alternative solution :I have tried even using se63 and selected <rept> selection texts.
but still its showing the same error ('STILL 54 OF 54 TEXTS TO BE PROCESSED'.)
from se63.
kindly give me solution for this issue.

Query SQ07 Translation not working for default text

HI Experts,
In a query created with EN as default language, when execute - the selection screen will show the tiltle text (such as - Report-Specific Selection, Output Specification & Layout)
I am unable to translate these selection text to other language using SQ07.
When execute in different language - all text are translated except these 3 still remains in EN.
Do you know where can I change the text?
Should it not be standard and being translated automatically when log on to different language?

But are you suggesting to go into the program which was generated by SAP once created the query and do a change mode in SE38 ?
Isnt it not encourage to change from there & we need to register the object and get the access key ?

Mass translation of text Symbols,Selection texts and Structures

Hi,
As per our Project Requirement we need to maintain Mass translations for Text Symbols, Selection Texts and structures.
Can anyone please provide a Tool or a solution through which we can maintain these translations without doing it manually
through SE63 transaction .
I have all the Translations maintained in a (.xls) file.
Is it possible to provide this (.xls) (This .xls has the Original text and the Translated text) as a input and get the translations done.
I would also like to know in which table these translations are maintained.
Please help me with this.

Hi,
There is no standard tool as such.
You can use below technique to develop your own tool.
    READ TEXTPOOL 'Program name' INTO i_source LANGUAGE 'Language'.
    DELETE TEXTPOOL 'Program name' LANGUAGE 'Language'.
    INSERT TEXTPOOL 'Program name' FROM i_target LANGUAGE 'Language'.

Massive Translation for Text Symbols

You can try creation Custom Download/Upload Utility for this.
You can use READ TEXTPOOL statement to read the text symbols into an internal table (You can provide the Language also)
And INSERT TEXTPOOL statemen to update the Translated Text from Internal table. (You can provide Language also)

URGENT! Convert text symbols to a different language

Hi all,
I need to know if there is a way to call text symbols in a different language? I need to call the following text in german depending on certain prior conditions but when i log in to the SAP system it is in english.

You always want this text to be displayed in German when you login in English language?
You can make the translation in German.
Goto -> Translations will list all the texts used in your program.
Corresponding to text-052, give your translated text in German.
Every time, you run the program, this text in German will be displayed.

Maintenance view does not bring the default language in the Text table

Hi Experts,
I am creating a maintenance view with the join of two tables
TAB1 has following fields
MANDT
CATEGORY
TAB2 (is the text table for TAB1) has the following fields
MANDT
LANGU
CATEGORY
DESCRIPTION
I have created the maintenance view with
MANDT
CATEGORY
DESCRIPTION
When Itry to maintain the data through the view I can insert teh data in TAB1 but in TAB2 it doesnt take the default language key.
I want my default language key as 'EN'.
I have referred V_T77TMC_EDUTYP, but I cannot find the reason why in my custom view I dont get the language key.

Hello Anu,
I believe that according to definition of maintenance view, for text tables there should be an automatic entry for sy-langu in SPRAS field. So, you should be able to get this without activating any TMG events.
I suppose you have created a maintenance generator for your maintenance view and updating entries using SM30 for that maintenance view.
Please check that you have created the text table properly. Check while putting TAB1 in SE16n and pressing enter, do you see TAB2 in 'text table' field ???
Make sure while defining Foreign key relationship, you have used 'Key fields of a Text table' option.
Do share if you face any problem ?

Changing the text symbols in the logon language

Hi...
I want a text symbol to have description in malay. I logged in to the R/3 system in malay language and went into the text symbols space of the respective program which is in SAPLHRHAP_C_IF_DOCUMENT in my case. I need to change the text symbol BEX (Exit) to BEX (keluar) in this malay log on.When I try to rename it, It says that "the text symbol is in original text and cannot be renamed"

if you want all your buttons everywhere to have white text, i'd subclass button and make the necessary change in that by calling setForeground();
otherwise, call setForeground() on all your buttons...

Documents have different default languages for comments than body text

Greetings. I am a teacher and sometimes the documents I get from my students appear to have two default languages. For example, the body text will be in English, but when I try to leave a comment in the margin, Pages '09 thinks I am typing in French. What is happening here? I can open inspector and change the default language back to English, but this has to be done for EVERY comment, since "Select All" will only work within an individual comment OR the whole body text...not both.

Changing the language for some text only changes it for that text. It is not a universal setting.
Language is part of the text just like bolding or the font.
What you need to do is change the style that is attached to the comments. Select all the text in a comment and change that to English:
Menu > View > Show Styles Drawer > a style will be selected > click on the arrow next to the style and update the style
This will apply to the styles in that particular document.
I am curious what your circumstances are that the students have different language settings set. Are you in Canada? Or are you teaching a French language class?

PO translation based on supplier language

I have made a Z copy of the standard PO smartform BBP_PO and it is working perfectly in English language.
Now I have to print the smartform in German based on the supplier language.
How can I do this?
Can I use a BAdI?

Did you select "Into All Languages" or "Into Selected Languages" in the General attributes Tab of the Smart form so that your form language is converted into the required languages.
In the Print Preview of the PO the langauge of the PO FORM will be the Log On language of the user.
In Mail output the PO FORM Langauge should be determined automatically, pls. check this FM BBP_OUTPUT_PO_GETDETAIL_SMART which determines the vendor Langauge, check perform- GET_VENDOR.
If you want to customize it then do the below.
In case of sending PO to vendor. You can change the language in the processing class method of the PO form set up.
In SPRO define action for document output for the action profile BBP_PD_PO and action definition- select the SMART FORMS MAIL, click on set processing button you can see the processing class and method. you can create a new class and method by copying it .
In the method. you can control parameter language to vendor's langauge call the form function
ls_control_param-langu = lv_vendors_langu.

Can LabView Japanese be installed on Windows XP MUI with Japanese as the default language?

I recently set up a computer for a client in Japan using Windows XP PRO MUI version. When they tried to install their Labview Japanese, it "turned into garbled characters."
From the Microsoft link it appears there are some differences between a fully localized Japanese Windows and the MUI version"
on localized versions:
The user interface resources are fully localized.

Windows Setup information, such as system locale, user locale, keyboard
layout, etc. is customized for the specific language/country. This is a
policy setting with the Multilingual User Interface Pack.
Additional country specific device drivers are added in the East Asian versions only.

is support for upgrades from localized versions of Windows 9X or
Windows 2000 to localized Windows XP. MUI only supports upgrades from
English versions.
Because the resources used in a localized
version are used to create MUI, there is no difference between the
actual translations. This results in a nearly full localization, apart
from small elements that are still dependent on:
INF files.
UI strings stored in the registry.
etc.
My question: Should it be possible to install Japanese Labview on top of Windows MUI with Japanese set as the user language and default language? My assumption was Yes, but now they appear to be unable to get this to work. Are there specific workarounds, policy changes, or drivers that can be done to get this to work?

Transport text symbols

Hi Everyone,
I have a zprogram in which there is an selection screen and with checkboces. For these checkboxes I have text symbols.
When I released the transport, and checking the program in qa system, the text elements are not tranported. What could be the problem?
I executed the program RSTXTRAN and specified the transport request number and press the execute button. But still I could not find any of the text elements to select or to assign.
How do I transport these text elements Can anyone help me please.

Go to SE38 -> Program name ..Click - > Text elemnets - > Hit change You `ll see 3 tabs ( text symbols , selection text ,list heading ) .. Activate them and hit save .it must ask you the trasport request. Add in transport and that`s sit

Then choose GOTO>Administration>Transport Recording
afterwards Request-->All languages.Then you will be taken into the screen where your texts will be assigned to a tranports

Controlling the default language for new business users

Hi everyone,
If this has been answered elsewhere, my apologies for asking again.
My company is currently in the initial implementation of ByDesign (1405). I just migrated our employees into ByD using the migration tool. This went fine, and also created (inactive) Business Users for each employee.
One small issue I have, is that for each Business User created, ByD picked a "Default Language" based on the country where the user's organization unit is based (so Dutch for users assigned to an entity in the Netherlands, Danish for users assigned to a unit in Denmark, etc...).
This despite the fact that the only language we have configured in ByD during scoping is English. In fact, when you edit the default language on the business user record, the drop down only offers English as a choice.
Since this is our test environment, this is not a big deal, but I would like to prevent this once I migrate user to our production environment.
So: how do I make sure that the Default Language on each Business User created when creating an Employee is English? (I would rather not have to fix this manually for a large number of users).

It applies to selected text. It is part of the text's style.
So if you want a document to be by default a particular language, make a template in which all the text and all the styles in the styles drawer are set to what you want.

ABAP Text Symbol Problem

Hi experts,
I'm using function module 'FI_TEXT_ZTERM' to retrieve description texts of terms of payment. However, this function module is using text symbols to generate these texts. So if I log on in English, I could not get Chinese texts if I want.
Does anybody know some good solutions? Thanks.

Try the "FI_PRINT_ZTERM" and pass it the language - you'll see at the top of that function that it does a "set language i_langu" and that seems to allow it to return the correct element from the textpool. Example code below also includes a "how to" on getting the textpool values (should you want them).

Translate from english to another language

I have a report where I would like to translate english to french, spanish etc.
is there a funtion that will do this, or do i need to purchase a tool???
