This sucks, Creative is charging me $140 to fix the lcd on my Zen Vision

I got this thing like 3 months ago and never have even drop it. They just called me today, what should i do? i feel like telling them to keep it and i will get an Ipod, i am pissed.

If so, If you purchased the product within a week directly from Creative, then Customer Service can do a CSRA to replace the product within the first 30-days. They cover shipping to my understanding as long as you are still in the region it was purchased from.
On a regular RMA, the only time I know of that the US facility requires shipping paid by the customer is if it is processing a unit from outside the US. Shipping TO any US address is paid for by Creative. The customer is responsible for getting the unit to Creative's facility however.
week may also be within the retailer's return / exchange period as well.
As for the OP, I'm not sure what I can say to ease his pain. I have not seen the unit, but LCD's do not typically break without external pressure or impact. There are not moving parts inside the unit that could hit the screen from the back, and no stationary parts that would touch it without the unit being squeezed or un-naturally twisted (does that make sense?).
The warranty covers manufacturing defects and not physical damage. It would cover a cracked LCD from improper installation, or defecti've part, but had that happened then it would have been discovered long before 3-months had passed.

    Do you have any better luck with that if you update to iTunes 10.6.1.7?

  • How do I escalate this to someone who actually cares and can fix the problem?

    We have an ongoing problem related to our phone service, bundle, and billing that has been ongoing for months now (It's a long and complex story so I'm not going to post the details here unless it'll really help). My wife and I have repeatedly made calls to Verizon to get it fixed and the calls always go like this:
    1) We get transferred between various people and departments, usually having to wait on hold for long periods of time.
    2) Eventually we get transferred to someone who claims that we'll be called back.
    3) We never got a call back.
    The last time I called I asked immediately to speak to a supervisor and was told one would call me back -- but they never did.
    I've had enough of being put on hold for long stretches of time only to be transferred between departments and promised a callback that never happens. What can I do to escalate this? If Verizon doesn't have an escalation process then is there some government agency (FCC) that regulates the company that I can contact and complain?

    Just an update: it's not going very well so far. I did receive a private message from a Verizon rep over the weekend and also replied to it over the weekend. Two days after I replied I got an e-mail from a different Verizon rep stating that I had been sent a private message but hadn't replied to it. I pointed out to that rep that I HAD replied to the only private message that I had received and asked her to re-send the message I supposedly hadn't replied to. She did write back but didn't re-send the mystery message or offer any explanation for why she thought I hadn't replied.
    In the meantime, the original / first rep that replied has been starting at square one, asking me how many phones we have in the house and seems to not have the information regarding the numerous conversations my wife and I have had about these problems in the past. I also had mentioned to this representative that we've had multiple visits from Verizon technicians but she says that she has no record of any visits and asked ME to supply the date of the last visit (???).
    As I pointed out to her, the last time we got a visit from a technician, he accidentally disabled our land line service and had to come back later that day to restore it -- but never did fix the original problem that we called about nor has anyone else tried to since then.
    I'm going to give them a couple of more days and then I'm going to contact the Texas PUC and the FCC. It's about time to let someone else fight this battle for me.

    When I get to the service section when I try to install the newest version of iTunes I get an error message. I'd really like to be able to connect to the Apple Store but can't figure out how to get those "sufficient privileges to start system services" and there doesn't seem to be any help on the Apple Support section of their Website - at least that I can find. Can anyone help me?
    I uninstalled the older version of iTunes. Apparently there was a .dll missing. I also uninstalled Safari since iTunes apparently uses some of the same applications as iTunes. It's getting frustrating not being able to buy books or access the books I already have.

    I am having this same problem. I took Kappy advice on restarting the Apple Mobile Device Service, however that did not work. I got this message in a pop up window that came up immediately.
    Windows could not start the Apple Mobil Device Service on local computer.
    Error 1053  The service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion.
    I have already uninstalled itunes, all the related programs and I cannot reinstall, this Apple Mobil Device message stops the install.
    Can anyone please help?

  • VZW sucks, after overcharging me for four months they issued a credit and then charged me for that credit the following month and 2 cost service reps and one supv can't figure out why...THEY SUCK

    Does anyone else find it odd VZW starts every conversation with the standard "this call may be recorded" line, but if you imply you are recording them, they freak out and go silent.  It's amazing they never want to stand by what they say.  I was overcharged and basically screwed for four months, they then issues me a credit and then CHARGED me for that credit the following month.  I explained it in their second grade terms so they could understand and still NO ONE gets it.

    i bought a wall charger from amazon for my Zen Vision: M 30GB, will it work with the (New)Zen? i just bought the Zen 6 GB and it doesn't comes with an adapter, pretty bad move there, well, does it has the same plug? i hope it's compatible. thanks

    That third party adapter from your Amazon link is hard wired specifically for the Vision:M and will not work with any other Creative player unless it has the same pin-outs using the same docking interface. The Creative AC-5V adapters will either have a coaxial power plug connection that will work with most of the Creative hard disk based players, except for the original NJB and Zen Micro, or a USB Mini-B plug that will work with all of the flash players that have a USB connection and the Zen Micro.

  • Please, I need help with this 60GB ZEN Vision: M Problem... ASAP!

    I had to format my computer earlier this morning, and I have to do it again soon, but not before moving all my music files to another computer thanks to my flash dri've. Here's the thing now: My ZEN Vision: M decided to have a firmware problem when I really can't do anything. I have to Reload the Firmware (I believe), so I can update it with the new one. The thing is, I'm not sure if there's a problem here, as I tried connecting it with the USB thing, and said it found no hardware. Alright so... I try doing the Realod Firmware thing, but the firmware doesn't detect the player, and I've already hit Reload Firmware. Now I don't know what's going on with my ZEN and I can't check things out nor can I go install the CDs for the programs/drivers and whatnot,because I'm in a bit of a hurry. I can do it all tomorrow once I get home but I just wanted to know what I have to do, since it's pretty much been quite a while since I last did a firmware update and I don't remember what to do, anyway.
    Anybody willing to help? I'd appreciate it if this wasn't ignored like all my other topics in the last year, where I got little to no help at all. But I have been grateful of those who have helped me before. It's just been so long, really...

    When you connect the player use REAR usb port if desktop. If laptop direct connect to usb port NO HUBS. & At least 50% battery charge on the player. Boot the player in Recovery /Rescue mode then do a Format>cleanup Then connect to computer to see if Windows loads the driver or "sees" the player. If it does then disconnect it &? Open the firmware file & on the player choose reload firmware The screen on the player will prompt you to connect via usb? connect it. Now the Autoplay window may open DO NOT CLOSE IT (ignore it) The firmware file should see the player choose the upgrade & let it run. Good Luck

  • Creative Zen Vision M not fully charging

    (Creative Zen Vision M not fully charging( Hi, I recently bought a refurbished ZVM that doesnt seem to charging properly. When I first got it, it hadnt been charged in quite some time so the battery was overdead. My PC couldnt detect it when I connected it via usb and it didnt even start charging at all. I then connected it to a wall charger and it finally started charging. The strange thing is it never fully charges. I've charged it twice now, both times for at least about 2 hours, and the battery doesnt go more than 50%. And when I connect it to my PC to transfer songs, instead of resuming its charge, my battery runs out. Is this a case of a faulty battery? I li've in Australia and I bought it from the USA. I would prefer not to go through the trouble of returning it if I could. Anything I should do like leaving it to charge for an even longer time? Also one more thing I should mention. When I remove the wall charger and plug it back in, it takes the ZVM sometime to detect it, about 30 minutes or so, and start charging again. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

    My PC doesn't recognice my Creative Zen Vision:M 30GB, it used to show my mp3 player as connected before, but since last week neither my PC nor the Creative Media Explorer can't connect to the player.
    I have reverted the Microsoft Windows Media Player to the v0.
    My SO is XP SP3.
    I already have installed the Creative Media Source.
    I couldn't get into "reboot mode" on my mp3 player 'cause it has run out of battery.

    Zen Vision M 309Well, I had my zen for going on 3 years...Strangest things is that it will not turn on at all.. I tried all the online documents
    -Resetting it with the USB (nothing plugged in , using the back ports)<-- in which my computer does not recognize the device even if i change to another computer or another USB port; i even purchased another USB cord and same results
    - I bought a wall charger (left it plugged in overnight); nothing i only see the CREATIVE screen that displays, doesn't respond to any buttons I push
    Same two?effects will wall charging/ computer charging
    -When plugged into computer or wall sometimes it will show the CREATIVE screen, or sometimes it will show a blinking light above where the power is...
    I tried also to reset it while it powers on and it doesn't do anything
    When trying to update the firmware, a message says that the device is not connected when it is..
    This is becoming expensi've, and i cannot find my receipt to even get a warranty,,, please help

    i have some problem with my CZVM 60gb.
    i bought it second from my local online store on september last year. at the first is still normal, but now my CZVM wont turn on and wont charge. when i plug to my laptop it show the battery with thunder on it but still not charge. i have tried to clean up, format, and reload the firmware, but nothing happened. so now my CZVM not have firmware installed and i cant re-install the firmware because the battery wont charge.

    Hi dedegian1,
    It sounds as if your battery may be depleted. To charge a depleted battery, follow these instructions:
    1) Turn off the player.
    2) Connect the player directly to a USB port located at the back of the PC with the supplied cable.
    * Avoid connecting the MP3 player to USB hubs located in on the keyboard, monitor or other accessories. This includes using the USB hubs on your PC.
    3) Close all Creative applications and Windows Media Player.
    4) Let the player charge for at least 60 minutes.
    5) Download and install the latest firmware for your player. For more information about the firmware update, refer to the Web Release Notes.
    * If the firmware update does not detect the player, unplug the player and plug it in again. You can also try a different USB port.
    6) Do not disconnect the player once the firmware update is in progress.
    When the firmware update is complete, the player will start charging automatically. If the player does not indicate that it is charging after 60 minutes, reset the player. (To reset the player, locate the Reset hole at the bottom of the player to the left of the sync adapter port. Using a pin or a straightened paperclip, gently insert and press in to initiate the reset.)

    In terms of a refund, what does it say on the app's description page in the store (a lot say that refunds aren't given) ?
