I have decided to dedicate this thread to the wonderful errors of Lion OSX. Each time I find a huge problem with Lion I will make note of it here.
Today I discovered a new treasure of doggie poop in Lion. No Save As......
I repeat. No Save As. In text editor I couldn't save the file with a new extension. I finally accomplished this oh so majorly difficult task (because we all know how difficult it should be to save a file with a new extension) by pressing duplicate and then saving a copy of the file with a new extension. Yet then I had to delete the first copy and send it to trash. And of course then I have to secure empty trash because if I have to do this the rest of my mac's life I will be taking up a quarter of percentage of space with duplicate files. So this is the real reason they got rid of Save As: so that it would garble up some extra GB on the ole hard disk.
So about 20 minutes of my time were wasted while doing my homework and studying for an exam because I had to look up "how to save a file with a new extension in mac Lion" and then wasted time sitting here and ranting on this forum until someone over at Apple wakes up from their OSX-coma.
are you freaking kidding me Apple? I mean REALLY?!!!! who the heck designed this?!!! I want to know. I want his or her name and I want to sit down with them and have a long chat. and then I'd probably splash cold water on their face to wake them up.
I am starting to believe that Apple is Satan.

Not in the Safari browser she can't. That is not supported on the iPad. There are other mobile browsers that do have that functionality - one is iCab Mobile.

I have a JVC video camera and it records the video to a .mod format (which Apple devices don't support). I figured out how to get them to iPhoto using iMovie but I want to be able to get the videos on my iPad 2 but it won't let it sync. Any help?
Thanks for that. Much more constructive than the last comment. It's only the restriction code I can't recall, not the access passcode. So I can currently access the device, just not age restricted content. Does that's make a difference? I also wondered if anyone knew how many attempts you get to try to get it right. Now tried 21 times and so far nothing bad has happened but I am concerned I'll eventually be completely locked out of the device. That doesn't seem in the spirit of things though. Surely it's foreseeable that a child could repeatedly try to guess the code so I can't see that it would be right to lock the device down completely in that circumstance, particularly if the access code is being typed in correctly every time.

Move back and forward through Quiz questions...

I need to be able to let individuals move back and forward through quiz questions after they have answered them without the need to re-answer the question.

I should have been a bit more specific and provided an example...
Question 1 and 2 are answered correctly and feedback box is shown each time - they then get stuck on question 3 so need to use the back button to go back through past the answered questions to the main information screens to find the answer and then need to use the forward navigation button to move back to the third question this will result in them moving through question 1 and 2 however we do not want them to answer these again.
The individual must answer every question correctly to pass the course.

I have purchased a new iPad2 and I was wondering if there is a way to get iPod content onto this new device. I am having difficulty finding any information on this kind of transfer and I am not sure if it is even possible. Just not looking forward to loosing my progress in games and information in notes and other apps. Thanks
Have you been syncing the iPod with iTunes? Then you just connect the iPad and set it up through iTunes and sync any content you want onto it.

In terms of games/apps. If they are not universal (you will see a + symbol next to them) or made for iPad (you would see an HD in the name, usually) then they won't look good on an iPad as those apps will open in a iPod sized window, giving you the option to enlarge. -
Now that iPad has multitasking gestures, why don't they just add a gesture for going back and forward in safari? Just like in a mac, with the multitouch gestures. The osx Lion got the launchpad idea from the ios, so why don't the ios gets something from osx?

For example, I'm editing Symbol_1, then I move to Symbol_22. Now to get back to Symbol_1 I need to find it again in the Library and double-click on it. Is there a shortcut for that?No, but you can always use the library search option to widdle down the number of items displayed. It'd be a good feature request as I find myself hopping between specific movieclip depths on common clips often. Sort of like a clip/depth bookmark.

Unable to get new iphone 5c recognized as a device in itunes for syncing purposes. Backup from old phone made yesterday and now would like to sync new phone from that backup. Any advice appreciated.

Yes you can use the software to move music and message to your computer - you would need to add the music back to your iTunes media library.

Move back and forth between frames in a sequence.
I am developing a program that is a sequence with many frames (40 so far). In each frame there is a VI that I have created. Each of these VIs has an input terminal to which I wire a string constant that asks the user a question or gives the user a command. There are either one or two output terminals on these VIs. When there are two output terminals. The VI will feature two LEDs that signify either a true or false outcome. When there is one terminal, there is only one LED that signifies that the user has read and understands the command or instructions that were given. Their are basically three types of VIs:
1) In the first type, the user is required to enter a numeric answer and press a "next" button in response to the question in the string constant. At that point, the number entered is compared with a desired range or set of acceptable values.
2) In the second type, the user answers the question in the string constant by clicking either the "yes" button or "no" button.
3) In the third type, the user is required to enter a "next" button to acknowledge understanding or completion of the command that appears in the string constant.
I would like to create two additional buttons on each of these VIs. One that will move the program back to the previous frame in the sequence and another that will move the program forward to the next frame in the sequence. I basically need to create a "back" button and a "forward" button that will allow the user to advance or return to specific frames in the sequence without restarting the program.
I haven't the slightest clue how to do this. Can anyone help me out?Don't use a sequence structure. You cannot move backwards to a previous sequence. Instead, use a state machine. Search for examples in Labview. Basically, a state machine is a case structure with some variable containing the next state wired to its input selector terminal. Each of your frames can be put into a case. Your code can decide which is the next case to call. A queue is excellent for holding the next case to be called. See the attached example for a Queued State Machine.

How do you enable fire fox work with mac track pad the two finger swipe to move back or forward
when using safari or chrome on the lion operating system you can use the track pad to move from one page to another either forward or backward. It is done with a two finger move. This does not work on firefox

Looking for three-finger gestures
The touchpad settings have two-finger and four-finger settings. Are there drivers that have three-finger support? I really liked the three-finger flick for going back or forward using Chrome.

From what you are showing here confirms that some software provides different options than others.
You may not find the three finger options available in all systems. Options are built in to each device based on what they feel is needed. Some systems have limited options some have many options.
With your envy you have more than one options for interface. Use mouse, trackball, Draw pad and the list goes on.
With different software you have the same options for example you can have a ton of input options for using adobe photoshop and if you look at comparable software for doing graphics they may have more or less options available.
Now I may have you misunderstood here but from what you are saying is when you use google chrome you are trying to get a 3 finger flick options and it works in other software such as Internet explorer and if this is the case then the issue is with the chrome software not giving that option of interface on your platform.

Three finger gestures not working on Mountain Lion
Since upgrade to Mountain Lion, gestures have become unreliable. Gestures for Mission Control, switching between full screen app, etc. (which are set with three fingre swipes) work sometimes but won't work most of the time. Anyone else facing the same problem?
I had this problem but I found it was the settings that changed when mountain lion was installed.
Mountain lion changed my three finger gestures to four finger gestures when swiping between full screen apps.
I found there were extra settings. Apparently when installing mountain lion my three finger gestures were changed to four finger gestures. -
Today I updated the OX Maverisk. It turns out that the three finger gesture in the finder( go back and forward) is disabled. How can I get this function back? I love it so much!
