While doing time booking through CAT2, the following error occurs:

Check wether employee is assigned to the activity of the project and also workcenter .
This can be checked through CJ20n.

CAT's Time Booking in TECO

Hi All,
We are booking Time on WBS and Network Activity using CAT's.
My concern is, Time booking should not be allowed, when WBS Status is Set to TECO.
I have tried to Use User Status but, unable to get suitable object related to HR CAT's Time booking in User Status Profile in SPRO.
Let me know how we can do it or is there any alternate option available?

Atul,
A WBS with TECO status will not permit Commitment generation but permit actual posting.If you want to block any further actual postings permenantly, either you can set the status of the WBS to closed.
Or If you want to temporarily block the actual cost booking, you can lock the account assignment status.
Or If you want to block only time booking by CATS, then you have to go for user status as per your idea.
Try forbidding activity allocation as Abdul stated.
Even then you will get an error message only when you are transfering the work hours.
So you have to validate your enties during time sheet booking itself.Try some exits as Gokul stated.Try "EXIT_SAPLCATS_003"

To get time-booking entered thru CATW,CAT2 for the previous week

Hi Experts,
I need to analyze the absences booked by an emolyee. I have obtained the time-booking for the present week from the user-exit where I am writing the code. But I have to check the booking of the previous friday (previous week) to check if the same absence is taken on Monday (current week). Thus I have to check the booking made by the employee on friday previous week. How can I get the time booking data for the previous week?
Do we have any Fm to get that?

Time booking - costs going against a wrong Cost center

Hi All,
Please help...
A person has been assigned to a Cost center, yet when booking time on CATS, the system pulls through and charges against a wrong cost center.
Initially I thot it was the network activity pulling thru the cost center, but that is not the case.
Where can I look to see why it reflects and chages the wrong cost center?

Hi,
Check the Organizational assignment infotype for that person in PA30 transaction or ask your HR consultant to check the assignment for the employee. This should solve your issue.
In case this does not solve the issue please explain the issue in detail viz., the time booking process you follow etc..

Finding std query for Time booking report in BW

not sure, but I try:
1) you want in single columns values <4 or <8...:
You can use Formula with boolean operator '<'. It gives you as feed-back 1 or 0 if corresponding to the operator.
2) you want single columns for single values of Priority:
You create a set of Restricted Key Figures with the corresponding value of Priority.
3) you can combine previous settings if you need both situation: Restricted Key Figure and values greater or less then 4, 8, 12.

Restriction of time posting within CATS and PS networks and activities

Hello to you all,
Prior to post this message, I've tried to check if there was any existing topic which could help, so sorry if this was the case...
I'd like to know if there was any possibility within SAP standard functions to restrict possibilities of time posting within CATS on PS networks and activities.
Actually I'd like to know if it could be possible that a user can only post times on Networks / Activites which he has been given authorizations?
Is there anything existing within the customizing or maybe authorization objects which can be managed, or nothing in standard SAP and so a specific development would be required?

I am not that expert on PS, but from CATS point of view you can validate the Time sheet with CATS0003 or CATS0006
You could do something like:
CLEAR i_messages.
LOOP AT CHECK_TABLE
IF CHECKTABLE-<Field you want to validate>.
      i_messages-msgty    = 'E'.
      i_messages-msgid    = <>
      i_messages-msgno    = <>
      i_messages-pernr    = check_table-pernr.
      APPEND i_messages.

Report to Verify Pending Aproval of Time sheet on CATS

Hi Experts,
Earlier Manager has faced some problem in approving Time sheet because of some missing authorizations, we have fixed that now we have to verify if he has any time sheets still pending for his approval.
We use Cats Applicatiosn, all the employees has to fill the time sheet and it will be sent to managers appoval this is built on CATS application.
Is there any report i can run in SAP to find out how many employees time sheet is pending for particular manager approval.

One of the ways is to approve the time sheets viz MSS where in Manager will be able to see which all personnel time sheets are pending for approval.

Approval of Working Time & Multi Level CATS approval

Hi experts,
We have implemented CATS multi level approval as below.
1. In the CATS user exit we call a Workflow which is a multi level
workflow.
2. We are using the standard Webdynpro for CATS entry and approval.
Problem:
Once the first level manager(Say A) approves the timesheet work item
gets triggered for the next level approver(Say B). Since approval is a
standard webdynpro, the status of the CATS record immediately changes
from 20 to 30. So in the workflow, before sending the work item to
second level approver, we change the status of the time record back to
20 (Since it is yet to go through all approvals).
Now in the Team--> Approve working time section of the MSS, manager 'A'
still sees the record for approval, even though now the approval is
pending from 'B'. Moreover 'A' can approve this item as well (which
should not be the case).
Please provide a solution so that 'A' will not have the working time
item in his 'Working time section' after the A approves it in the UWL.

Cost booking in CATS

I have done time recording through CAT2 , transfered to project through CATA/CAT5 after approval of time recording. Still cost is not updated in the report what may be the reason?????
In which separate reports I can see the approval of time recording and correct transfer to project.

Goto CN48N and verify if a confirmation has been posted for these hours against the project's network activity. If it has been, and the cost has not been updated on the project (looking at CJI3 or such report), then goto txn COFC and see if there is an error for reprocessing cost update item for the network. If you look at the messages in this transaction, it should give you an idea as to why cost has not been updated.
If the confirmation itself has not been posted in CN48N, then goto CN30 to see if there are any errors that need to be corrected and the confirmation reprocessed.

Time clocks and CATS

We have a requirement to capture clock-in/out from Genesis time clock system and process time in SAP. We want the generated time pair to be stored CATS database so that the mangers can edit / approve the time punches via CATS_APPR_LITE transaction
Since I am new to Time management I need help with the following:
1) What is the format to upload the data using SAP report RPTCC106 (loads table CC1TEV)
2) How is the data from CC1TEV then loaded to TEVEN table?
3) How is the time pair formed? Is it possible to store the paired form in CATS database instead of infotype 2011?

The format is the same as the structure of the CC1TEV table. Please look at this in the SE11/SE16 transaction
2) How is the data from CC1TEV then loaded to TEVEN table?
The standard SAP program SAPCDT45 is run to transfer data to TEVEN. In case any rows error out during the transfer, the information of these rows is stored in the table CC1REM. The CC1TEV table is completely purged of all information (correct or incorrect) on a non-test run of the SAPCDT45 program.
3) How is the time pair formed? Is it possible to store the paired form in CATS database instead of infotype 2011?
Time pairs are formed during time evaluation run only. Yes, it is possible to import the data into CATSDB (the central CATS table) through the use of a BAPI CATS0002. In this case, however, the CC1TEV and TEVEN tables will be rendered unusable. You will also have to create an attendance type for use with CATS.

Time Transfers from CATS to PS at WBS level

Hi Gurus,
We have a scenario to track the time aganist WBS element on the CATS Time sheet, so is there any standard way where we can transfer the confirmations from CATS to PS at the WBS element level any help is appreciated.

I agree with Virendra, Normally when only WBS is there at that time you we post time to WBS, Both WBS and netowrk is there at that time we customise the data entry profile for the network by choosing appropriate fields.
Any way system will not allow you to post the same record with two receiver .
You will get the below error message.

Diagnosis
You made assignments to several objects in CO (cost center, order, project etc.). 2 of these have been created as true objects.

Hi,
Do you need update same attendance type or multiple attendance type? in case of multiple attendance types first you need to change time constraint class for attendances. Or in case of same attendance type the distribute the no of hours various projects with same attendance type.
Do you need timings also along with no. of hours? then you need to provide "in time" and "out time" facility also in Profile.
