Timeouts in SRM
On a regular basis, we have users timing out of SRM while they are actually entering data. We can see the entries in SM21.
We have no idea what the messages mean. We are also unable to recreate it for OSS. Does anyone have any ideas how we should proceed? The following are a common list of errors:
Transaction Canceled ITS_P 101 ( Cannot sync )
Transaction Canceled ITS_P 041 ( t_screen_acclist-g_l_acct[1] )
Transaction Canceled ITS_P 041 ( t_screen_acclist-generic_acc[1] )
Hi Monique,
Did you solve this problem?
I'm facing it in SRM 5.0, also with some of the users.
I could reproduce the problem when I simulated a user navigating in SRM (Web), using a App server (A) . When the load balancing re-directed the next http request to a diferent server (B), the error message appears:
Internal error Cannot sync
Do you have a similar arquitecture, or the problem appeared in a different situation?
Regards,
Pedro

External Catalog Call Structures
We are on SRM 4.0 and integrated ITS. We are using the standard call structure for external catalogs which opens in a new window. However, this is causing grief with our users because they tend to stay in the catalogs too long and eventually timeout of SRM. Our current timeout is set to 30 minutes. Therefore, when they go to the catalogs, SRM sits idle. When they checkout of the catalog to bring the items over into SRM, they will get a timeout message.
I would like to have the catalog open in the same window as SRM. I understand this is done through integrated call structure.
However, when I select my items from the catalog and check out, I'm not brought back into my shopping cart. Another window opens with the look of external ITS.
Is there something I need to do with the call structure so that the items are added back to my shopping cart?
Are there other options so that users do not timeout of SRM? If SRM is sitting idle, can a message popup letting the user know their session will timeout soon unless they check out of the catalogs?Hi Monique,
Last document i have in for ebp 3.0 !
It is a configuration guide for setting up inframe catalogue.
Extract :
Prerequisites
You have:
installed an SAP Markets Enterprise Buyer Professional Edition 3.0 system
installed the Requisite catalog (BugsEye 3.0)
installed a Java Runtime Environment (for example Java 2 SDK Standard
Edition)
installed a servlet engine
Activities
Checking BugsEye_Config
Copying of the WAR (Web Archive) file
Deployment of the Application
Changing the WEB.XML
Defining the Internal Call Structure in EBP
I can send you the document.
However i do not know if it is still compliant...
Kind regards,

Portal Session Timeout - ICM/Webdynpro/POWL
Hi Experts,
We are having SRM Portal which has POWL Webdynpro and other applications running.
SRM Portal is a seperate JAVA Instance and integrated to backend with SSO enabled.
We have Logon Ticket Timeout set as default 8 Hours and the Session Timeout in Portal set as 2 Hours (Server>services>webcontainer>properties>Session Timeout).
For the ABAP backend, we have rdisp/plugin_auto_logout-->7200 (2 Hours) and ICM timeout as remommeded by SAP as icm/server_port_0 = PROT=HTTP,PORT=8012,TIMEOUT=90,PROCTIMEOUT=600
Now the problem is:
1. Users connected to portal and work on any POWL Iviews has an idle time of two hours-->we get the ICM session timeout error page.
2. Sometimes Users get the Login screen of portal within the Navigation Frame which can be identified as the Ticket Expiration
Is there a possibility to control the behavior of portal to avoid these error pages to Users like if the timeout happened in backend, there should be auto refresh if the user clicks the application.
And if the ticket expired, the portal should refresh to the home screen on clicking any Iview.
We tried the IDLE timeout pop up and in Vain, you could see my another post on the same.
Portal Idle Pop Up
Regards,
SethuHi,
Read SAP note 705013,
I think adjusting the kernel parameters, rdisp/gui_auto_logout and rdisp/plugin_auto_logout will help.
Try adding below parameters in the Instance profile.
icm/keep_alive_timeout 3600
icm/conn_timeout 5000

Good Bye .....Hi Diego,
i have a question.
i know that we need SRM 4.0 installation on WAS and ITS to be installed.
my question to you is....
do we need to install EBP separately if we have already installed SRM 4.0 ( in other words is EBP part of SRM 4.0 installation or is it separate)
and for ITS i am running WAS 6.4 and i know that ITS is an integral part of it so how do we activate ITS for SRM 4.0
Thanks a lot in advance

RFC connection problem during SRM - R/3 integration
Hi,
Our environment is SRM 5.5 server with 2 R/3 backend systems. One of the R/3 systems is in another country. We happen to have RFC problems during the communication between the SRM and R/3 server.
Below you can find the SM21 log related to an operation on SRM server. What might be the reason for this problem? Does anyone know the solution?
Many thanks

Hello,
we are using SRM 4.0 (standalone scenario) with integrated ITS 6.40. The SRM application is accessed directly through browser (without any SAP portal encapsulation). We would like to customize the lifetime of cookie MYSAPSSO2 which is set after user authentication. I have noticed that this cookie is still located at browser level as long as this browser is open : there is no time validity for this cookie. As user's session, at application server level, is submited to timeout, we would like to be able to set such timeout for MYSAPSSO2 cookie too.
Do you know a way to achieve this ?
Thank you for your help.
Regards.
FabriceHi Fabrice.
I am using Single Sign On for SRM Add on ERP without portal.
I have set up the following tickets with value 1 but after 8 hours this tickets resets to 0 and have to put value as 1 again via RZ11 so that user can sign on properly in SRM as SSO.
login/create_sso2_ticket and login/accept_sso2_ticket
In our system, the default value for login/ticket_expiration_time is 8 hrs.
Please advise what i shoud do so that the single sign on works properly and the value of parameters does reset to 0.
Thanks,

I would like to monitor SAP SRM 5.0 (OS: Windows, DB: SAP DB, Version 7.6.04.11) from SAP Solution Manager.
I have the following problems:
a) it is not posible to execute the tocde DB50 on SAP SRM.
b) it is not possible to see the DB monitor of SAP SRM in SAP Solution
(SAP CCMS Monitor Templates --> Database --> empty)
c)The database is integrated in tcode DB59.
Unfortunately when I execute the connection test I get:
General Connection Data
Connection Name....: SRM
Database Name......: SRM
Database Server....: olda8002
tp Profiles........: no_longer_used
DBM User...........: CONTROL
Test Scope
1. Execute an external operating system command (DBMCLI)
2. Determine status using TCP/IP connection SAPDB_DBM (DBMRFC
command mode)
3. Determine status using TCP/IP connection SAPDB_DBM_DAEMON (DBMRFC
session mode)
4. Test the SQL connection (Native SQL at CON_NAME)
Application Server: olda8002_SRM_00 (Windows NT)
1. Connect. test with "dbmcli db_state"
Successful
2. Connect. test with command mode "dbmrfc db_state"
Unsuccessful system_failure
Name and Server : SRM - olda8002
DBMRFC Function : DBM_EXECUTE
Command : db_state
Error : System Error
Error Message : timeout during allocate / CPIC-CALL:
'ThSAPCMRCV' : cmRc=20 thRc=456#Timeout during connection setup
3. Connect. test with session mode "dbmrfc db_state"
Unsuccessful
communication_failure
Name and Server : SRM - olda8002
DBMRFC Function : DBM_CONNECT
Error : Communication Error
Error Message : Error when opening an RFC connection
4. Connect. test with "native SQL" ( SRM )
Successful
What I have done:
I have upgraded the server as well the client software to the version 7.6.04.11
Can someone help me with suggestion?
Could it be the issue with independent path on windows or do I miss some programs?
In tcode DB59 in Connection test the following values could not be determined:
DBMRFC Release (empty)
DBMCLI Release (empty)
Thank you
regards
ThomHello Thom,
"a) it is not possible to execute the tocde DB50 on SAP SRM."
-> Run /ndb50n with the database connection SRM created in /ndb59.
Please give more details about errors.
"b) it is not possible to see the DB monitor of SAP SRM in SAP Solution
(SAP CCMS Monitor Templates --> Database --> empty)"
-> First fix the database connection in /ndb59.
Please let me know the version/SP of the SAP Basis on SAP Solution Manager system.
"c)The database is integrated in tcode DB59."??
You posted that you created the database connection for the database.
On the application server < Application Server: olda8002_SRM_00 > run ::
/nsm49 ->dbmrfc -> execute -> post results
/nsm59 -> SRM connection -> test connection ->
1) What are DBSL Release/DBSL Patch on the appl. Server?
2) Update with output from the /nsm49 -> dbmcli tool ::
dbmcli -s dbm_getpath IndepProgPath
3) Check that Path env. Variable of the srmadm on olda8002 adjusted with
<IndepProgPath>/bin & <IndepProgPath>/pgm
4) Test TCP/IP connections in /nsm59::
SAPDB_DBM SAP DB dbmrfc server
SAPDB_DBM_DAEMON SAP DB dbmrfc server daemon
< According your information the test connection in /ndb59 failed for :
Determine status using TCP/IP connection SAPDB_DBM (DBMRFC
command mode)
& Determine status using TCP/IP connection SAPDB_DBM_DAEMON (DBMRFC
session mode) >
Run /ndb59 -> Connection test -> select the appl. Server -> Connection test
=> /nst11 && check errors in dev_rd at the end.
/nsm21 -> check the system errors.
/nst11 -> check the errors in the corresponding dev log of WP.
Do you have blank space in the IndepProgPath path name?
Thank you and best regards, Natalia Khlopina -
HTTP/RFC session has been deleted following timeout
Hi,
In our SRM system I see this message.
HTTP/RFC session has been deleted following timeout
help me pleaseHi,
Firstly welcome to SDN...!!!!!
There is no need to worry about this, as this is not an error. You can see the status of this message in SM21 as green color, it is normal. whenever a connection is made to the system from browser, it will create a connection of type http/rfc. If the user or program which connected to the sysem , does not explicitly close the connection, or leave it idle then the system will delete it automatically after the session time out.
Please see the note 1240156 for details or parameters.

Sharath

Setting alerts in SRM when SRM can't communicate with XI
Hi,
We've configured our SRM system to send XML PO output data to selected vendors via XI. This process works fine 'most' of the time. Recently the SRM system started encountering connection problems with the XI server in that it encounters a timeout error connecting to XI. This error is visible from the SRM SXMB_MONI but not in XI SXMB_MONI.
My question is where and how can you configure the SRM system to generate some kind of an error message/alert if the connection to XI fails?
I've looked through the SRM ALERTCATDEF documentation but didn't quite understand or didn't see the obvious on how to do this.
Any help would be appreciated.
Regards,
JerryHi
<u>In SRM system you need to make configuration settings to enable the monitoring
In transaction SPRO, Here is the path</u>
<b>Supplier Relationship Management -> SRM server -> Cross-Application basic settings -> Enable Use of Exchange Infrastructure</b>
<u>Click New Entries.
Select the checkbox -> Use Application Integration Infrastructure</u>
<b>Enable Use of Exchange Infrastructure</b>
Use
Here you determine if Enterprise Buyer is to use the Exchange Infrastructure for communication between system components.
Requirements
You carry out the first installation of an Enterprise Buyer System with Release status 3.5.
Activities
To enable the Exchange Infrastructure for your system, flag the indicator Use Application Infrastucture. The system then exchanges data between system components via interfaces of the Exchange Infrastructure.
Example
Within SRM scenarios, for example, Supplier Self-Services (SUS), you exchange documents between Enterprise Buyer and a SUS System.
<u>Also refer to SICF transaction in SRM system.
Read the details on the link below to configure End-to-End monitoring.</u>

Get_sqlagent_job_status long durtions and timeouts
Hi,
In Reporting Services, ReportSever database there is the Get_sqlagent_job_status procedure. This procedure is calling the undocumented system procedure xp_sqlagent_enum_jobs to
check the subscription jobs statuses. In most of the times the execution finishes in milliseconds. In rare cases however, the execution is taking much longer and when it reaches 30sec procedure is timing out with the following error:
Msg 22023, Sev 16: SQLServerAgent exceeded the allowed timeout for
creating the shared job list. The Jobs cannot be enumerated.
During long executions the wait type is MSQL_XP. Regarding msdn it:
Occurs when a task is waiting for an extended stored procedure to end. SQL Server uses this wait state to detect potential MARS application deadlocks. The wait stops when the extended stored procedure call ends.
My question is why sometimes the xp_sqlagent_enum_jobs procedure is running longer and timeout? I couldn’t trace on which resources or processes it is waiting. When searching the
Microsoft sites, I only found info that this is undocumented procedure and should not be used. Why then then it is being used in the ReportServer database that is being setup during the Reporting Services installation.
What can be done to get rid of the timeout errors from Get_sqlagent_job_status procedure?
I hope anyone can help.
Regards,
MarekHi. We have the exact same problem. We have put in all the notes mentioned here and more.
We have looked at the variant and have restricted it as much as possible, but we create about 30000 carts a month and some of them are not complete for a long time so we can not restrict the days too much.
We try to run BBP_GET_STATUS_2 for 90 day timeframe, as this covers much of it, but it takes over 10 hours to run.
We would then want to run more than 90 days once a week or something, but this takes 24 hours to run.
Does anyone have any more ideas how we can improve this?
I am thinking about stopping running the program and use a user exit in MIRO and MIGO to RFC into SRM and run the program for just the 1 applicable cart at a time, but this seems a bit drastic.
I have asked SAP all this but they told us the same as above, try the notes, restrict the variant.

Creation of a Goods receipt based on an ASN in SRM
Hi,
we want to implement a scenario like this (with SRM 7.0):
1) Requester creates Catalog SC;
2) SC gets approved;
3) PO is created (at this moment we haven't chosen between classic or Extended Classic scenario)
4) Supplier Connects to a Portal (not SRM) and post an ASN in SAP Backend
5) (THIS IS THE QUESTION): is it possible for the Requester (who created the SC) to post (in SRM) a GR based on the ASN that it has been created in SAP?
Additional Info: in this scenario SUS system is not foreseen; only SRM (EBP) and SAP backend system
Thanks

Sso session timeout per partner application
Hello,
I was just wondering if it is possible to configure SSO session timeouts per partner application? I'm looking to log out users of a particular application after 15 minutes, but don't want this change to affect any of my other SSO enabled applications. Is this possible?
Thanks,Hi,
I do not think so, you can not specify specail parameter for one application in SSO.
Why because SSO is one component (within your Infra) through which you logon different apps.
Another solution may be it will expensive is that you 'll need to use different infra for this specific application.

How to get the values from table SKB1 R/3 to SRM
Hi Gurus,
My requirement is to get all the values from the table SKB1 to SRM (i.e. in to an internal table) for doing some validation(G/L account XXXXXX requires an assignment to a CO objectXXXXXX.)
Like wise I have many tables for doing validation in SRM
Help me how to get this, suggest me any Function module with sample code.
OR
Any Standard FM which will give all the values of the fields in the table SKB1 when I pass the key fields G/L account & company code alone so that I can improve the performance.
Suggest me.
Regards
PaulHi,
You can use the FM 's META_READ_TABLE Or RFC_READ_TABLE
Which SRM / Backend system version are you using ?
Are you taking care of the Importing paramater - DELIMITER in this case.. ??*
See related links ->
Re: Retrieving data from R/3 into SRM
Re: Product Search TIME lag
Else you can just call the remote enabled FM "BAPI_GL_ACC_GETDETAIL" from SRM.
