Tired of this...

I have been a proud owner of a MacBook Pro for awhile now and I haven't had that much trouble in the beginning but now everything seems to just be crashing down. These are my issues:
-Buzz from left speaker area, resolved when I turn off my second core
-Occasionally my MacBook Pro wont go to sleep when I shut it so it ends up running for awhile
-Occasionally my MacBook Pro wont wake up after its been asleep. I usually have to take out the battery for it to do anything.
-I have had my Magsafe replaced twice
-I have had my battery replaced (replacement program)
-Superdrive stopped working so they replaced the superdrive
-Warped Case top, gaps on left and right sides when the notebook is closed
This is ridiculous, I cannot deal with having to put my MacBook Pro into service over and over again. I have only had 2 of those problems fixed. Is it possible for me to just get a replacement unit since there is obviously something wrong with this $2000 computer? I would take a MacBook anyday to replace this.

Sleep on it, and when you're calm in the morning, give AppleCare a call and discuss your issues with them. Ask for the matter to be escalated if you're not happy with what they're willing to do. Talk to them about it and be reasonable in your expectations and see what happens.

    Are you positive you're using the exact Apple ID to update these apps that was used to originally ontain them? You can verify such by right-clicking one the apps, in your iTunes library, & selecting "Get Info". This will show you the Apple ID used to originally obtain the app...does it match on your phone?

  • ITunes wont recognize ATV. I'm so tired of this. Any advice?

    Ok. I am so tired of this issue. I can't tell if I am missing something obvious. Please give me a dummy slap if I am.
    1. MacBook Pro connected to a network with an ATV connected by ethernet. Works fine, although it took weeks to get it to work the first time.
    2.I go away for two weeks with my MacBook Pro and while away we lose power for two days.
    3. Come back and the ATV doesn't appear in iTunes.
    4. I go to start checking everything and as I turn the tv to ATV screen, the ATV happily tells me there is a software update. I update. Still doesn't appear.
    5. I follow ALL the advice in the faq, except reinstall iTunes. I have version 7.7.1 (11). I even reset(twice) the ATV and restore the settings to the factory defaults twice. The ATV happily connects to mobile me and YouTube and the rest of the outside world.
    6. Recheck ALL settings.
    7. Reauthorize my computer.
    8. Restart the computer three times.
    9. Check all my router settings.
    10. Check that a firewall isn't a problem.
    11. Use my wife's iTunes and it doesn't see the ATV either.
    Please do not be too patronizing, but please suggest the obvious if you think I am missing something. I think, think is all, that I have tried everything and yet it still doesn't show up.
    Is there a point when you give up? The last time i did this, I tried and tried for weeks and it wasn't until I updated the software that it worked but everything I have is up to date.
    Yes, I know I didn't reinstall iTunes but you know what? This is the same iTunes I had before and it worked then. reinstalling would be a nightmare for me and I don't think that is it. Really.
    I am overtired, I know, and probably a bit impatient, but it just seems to me that given how easily Apple products connect to the world, the ATV should at least be seen. You see, that is just it. If it were seen, and didn't work, I could accept it without complaint because it would be some weird complicated issue within the operation of the device. This is just a case of it not being seen. I can't even get it to be seen for a really complicated problem to crop up.

    I don't think you are missing something obvious at all, there have been a number of people since the outset of the tv that have had issues with the tv not being seen or disappearing when it is seen. 's philosophy of keeping everything pretty much in house has given them many advantages over their competitors over the years but it seems that when they are forced to work with 3rd party technologies, the 'it just works' factor isn't always there.
    Unfortunately because of your circumstances you are not in a position to pinpoint the cause of your problem, indeed it could simply be a reoccurrence of the issue you resolved the first time. Then you could just as easily be a victim of the power outage, do you know why it occurred, could there have been a power surge either as it went off or as it came back on, could it have happened while the drive was being written to. etc., etc.
    Some people have run into this problem after updating their software to v 2.1, but there are no more reports of this problem following this upgrade than there have been for other upgrades including itunes upgrades and in any case you seem to indicate that the problem actually started before you did the upgrade.
    You seem to have tried a lot of the things suggested over a period of time and I wonder if you should be considering setting up the router, the network and tv from scratch.

    Well, thanks for feeling with me, patkosanke ... AND for your wise advice.
    I did followed your advice immediately and erased all the service number as well as S/Ns.
    Can you, however, give me any "direct number" through which I can get hold of someone and request for what you're suggesting?
    I believe I had talked with the person by the name of "Charlie" (I think... I hope I'm correct...) when I was having the same problem with the last device. He was very kind and helpful, though I ended up getting the device that brought the same problem.
    Charlie told me that if I had any more problems I should call him. But I forgot to take down his direct number.
    Or maybe I should call the main office and ask for him. But my memory is questionable as to his name, and besides I don't even know his last name either. There could be more than one "Charlies" in Palm.
    So, if you could somehow email me some direct number (other than the one that keeps on hooking me up with those people in the overseas who are answering the phone only to sympathize with & apologize to me but can only issue a false hope with the SRO#. More than once I was given the promise that the supervisor would call me back within an hour or two but I ended up calling back after I had been left hanging in the air all night long.) where I can talk to someone like I did with Charlie last time who can truly carry out the promise, I would truly appreciate it, patkosanke. ^^

    We can't answer that. Maybe the battery is bad and is swelling inside the phone. Maybe someone else dropped it and didn't tell you about it.
    Make an appointment at the genius bar and see what they say.
    If it's over a year old, then it's not covered under warranty.

    After updating to iOS6, I lost all sound for apps like YouTube, Netflix, games, and even notifications. The only time sound worked was during a phone call or when the head set was plugged in.
    I did a full back up and restore- sound restored but only for a day before the problem returned.
    Called Apple Support and was advised to do another restore, but this time restore it as NEW first, then do the restore from back up.
    Seemed to do the trick.
    Here are the instructions of what I was given- hopefully this will help you too:

    Once you back up your device you will want to restore it.
    You will need to have iTunes open on your computer screen.
    Please turn your iPhone off.
    Press and hold the Home Button.

    You will want to continue to hold the Home button until you get a screen with the message "device found in recovery mode".
    Please follow the prompts and restore device as NEW.
    once the restore is done you will have to set up the device and test the sound.
    If it works you will then need to restore the device from the back up to restore your user settings.
    You can find the instructions how to restore from back up also from the the link I provided.

    The most recent 3 crashes were Related to
    Apfiltr.sys Alps Pointing-device Driver.  Yours is 3 years old.  I would install the newest driver available and if you continue to crash I would run driver verifier to find the underlying issue
    Please run this test to find which driver is causing the problem.  
    If you are overclocking (pushing the components beyond their design) you should revert to default at least until the crashing is solved. If you don't
    know what it is you probably are not overclocking.

  • Im getting tired of this (Audigy LS Probl

    I recently bought an Audigy LS for my computer, as I needed a 5. sound card for the speakers I bought the day before. Anyways, I get everything installed and set up, and go to play Doom III, and.... it freezes. along with Colin McRae Rally 4. And Far Cry. And unreal Tournament. And just about ANYTHING I do game-related. So I got the updated drivers that CLAIM to fix this, and.... they do nothing. Same games, same freezing problem. Mind you this NEVER happened with any game ever before on this computer, until I installed the sound card. The problem seems to only happen with games that feature EAX as well, as The Sims 2 is about the only game I can play that will not freeze either, as it has no surround support, AFAIK. So, in desperation, last week I sent an e-mail to the creative support team about the matter, and they told me it might be a IRQ conflict, and to try and move the card to another PCI slot. So I move my card to the last PCI slot (A move recommened by alot of people I have seen in various other forums) and.... still Freezing. I know the problem lies with the sound card, and the only two things I haven't tried are:
    .) Setting the Assign IRQ to VGA in the BIOS (recommended in the e-mail); my mobo BIOS doesn't have this option, I have looked.
    2.) Setting sound acceleration to the last bar on the left (I've done it with the other three spots, and it still freezes). The reason I dont want to do this is simple: it would defeat the purpose of having the card in the first place!
    I am getting tired of all the problems I have been having with this card, and would appriciate ANY help at all in solving this problem. I would greatly appriciate it. (maybe.... some updated drivers....too?)

    AMD Athlon XP 2500+
    *ASUS A7n8x (mobo sound IS turned off)
    52Mb DDR ram (Kingston)

    That would be because ypour problem seems to be something else then what the drivers fix. You have problems in every game or anything game related as you said. This means it is rather a problem with DirectSound3D acceleration. I would suggest you reinstall DirectX. The best would be to get DirectX9.0c to be on the latest, but if you only have 9.0b that`s fine as well.
    Also, if your onboard sound is disabled, that`s fine. Just make sure you boot up Windows in Safe Mode and uninstall the drivers for onboard sound if you stil have them there.

  • So tired of this...

    First of all, I am not a newbie and have used iWeb extensively. I am so tired of the randomness of publishing errors and then having to upload my entire site again, which takes about an hour on the highest bandwith connection you can get. It's simply ridiculous. I love iWeb for what it's worth, but it has became almost useless. Taking an hour to upload a 100mgb site is ludicrious. It is my guess that Apple will do nothing until iLife 07 and then tout the "new features" that should have been there in the first place. I am not asking for the fetures that are missing right now, that is fine, I got what I paid for as far as features go. However, iWeb and .Mac are horrifacly slow and crippled. I will not buy iLife 07 just to get performance that should have been included. Hoping for an update, but doubting it will happen.

    My problems are this:
    1. As simple as it should be, as I worked on a multipage site, the new or revised pages didn't always show as they should, even when Apple says they've been successfully uploaded. I also found that I had formatting bugs on the opening page. Text shifting out of position, line counts wrong, only part of a page updated, that sort of thing.
    2. The site was working fine until I made a couple content additions. Then I got a message from a magazine editor who surfs with Explorer on a Windows machine, telling me my site crashed Explorer. I found the page reading ok in Mac Explorer, but when I rebooted in Windows, sure enough, it took Explorer down. This does not amuse people at all.
    3. I want to erase and start over (at least erase what's on the Mac server), because there is something seriously wrong with the current file. As near as I can tell, based on having a friend watch the site try to load onto a Dell machine with Explorer, it was tripping up at the site menu across the top, which I can do nothing to actually edit. I had already used the old page-design troubleshoot standby of removing elements from the pages and repeatedly uploading and checking the new version to see if I could isolate the problem. But it just seems that the document menu is malfunctioning.
    4. Next step was to try to replace the main menu page, by creating a new one in a new site document, then copying pages over. But this just created two web files on the .mac account with exactly the same name, which is why I wanted to figure out how to clean the slate on the server and start over.
    5. I've been figuring out how to clean out the offending files in iDisk. But as for the news that Windows PC users will have problems with Explorer on an iWeb/.Mac site, I obviously came to the wrong place to do my web work. 95 percent of the world is surfing around on Windows machines, and I can't call up all of them and tell them to switch to Firefox, even if it is a better program. (Any more than I can tell people to just get a Mac, which is a better system.) This is not a site for me and six of my close personal friends with Macs. It was meant to allow people who visit publisher sites like Random House and Penguin to link to my website through the author information page. If their experience is an immediate crash of their browser, they're never coming back to see me again and the publishers are going to yank my link.
    So yeah, I'm frustrated. This isn't going to get the job done. I guess I'll use my .Mac account for data backup and find some other way to get a web site up and hosted.

  • Ideadpad Y410P losing memory as left on, getting tired of this

    So, back about a year ago I bought an ideapad y410P after reading good reviews about it. All was going well until about, oh, 7 months ago. My laptop almost seems to...lose memory as it's left on, if that's possible. 
    What I mean by this is like this, 160 MB is a very small percent of my memory directly after I turn on my computer. But 6 hours later, 160 MB is 10% of my memory. And it just gets higher as my computer is left on. 
    I've already determined it's not a virus, and I've tried everything that I know how to do. 
    I'm getting sick of tired of not being able to run a game that's "ideal specs" are an i5 and 4GB ram, when I have an i7 and 8 GB ram. 
    I have screenshots of the problems in action that I can attach, but they don't show much. They just show programs that use very small amounts of 8GB, but for some reason, take up 10% of my CPU after being left on for 6 hours. They take up nothing directly after startup.
    I'm very unhappy with having to restart my computer every 6 hours or hit a blue screen and I need some assitance. Thank you

    Which processes in particular? Usually it's some poorly written application (or addon to some application) that has a memory leak or what not.

  • Creative Cloud Desktop update error A12E1 - getting really tired of this...

    So I've bought CS6 a while ago and up until there was the Application Manager used for updates everything was fine.
    Since you decided to force me to use Creative Cloud for updates it's became really annoying.
    Every time  there is an update for one of my Adobe Products there is also an update for Creative Cloud Desktop. And it seems to be impossible to install it.
    It doesn't matter if I try to update the existing Installation or Download fresh Setup-Files. It doesn't work.
    If I try to update, it's initialised, downloaded and then it throws Error-Code A12E1.
    If I try to install a freshly downloaded Setup-File of CC Desktop it's the same, just with Error-Code 50.
    So here is what I've tried already:
    Updating with disabled Security Suite
    Try again in SafeBoot
    Uninstall CC Desktop an reinstall a fresh Download
    Installing freshly downloaded files with disabled Security Suite
    Try this again in SafeBoot
    Download the CC Cleaner tools to get rid of the old Installation before I can install it again, which then does the trick.
    As I said EVERY TIME.
    What is supposed to be a 5 Minute update in background gets to be an hour of rebooting, uninstalling, cleaning an reinstalling.
    I'm running a 64Bit Windows 8.1 Pro.
    If anyone knows how to fix this, please give me a hint. I'm all out of Ideas.

    I've postet this after I got the initial Error-Message, thinking that using the Cleaner Tool would help this time again. But there I was wrong! Very Wrong!
    I'm seriously disappointed when I think about how much money I've spend on this Software...
    After Using the Cleaner Tool (which completed without errors) I couldn't install CC Desktop again, because it was just throwing Error-Code 50 again and again.
    All attempts to fix this were unsuccessful. Errorlogs were NOT created. The last Error-Log I could find was from the last update back in march.
    After a while of google search I found an old post from November from someone with similar problems.
    Solution:
    Uninstalling CC Desktop
    running the cleaner tool
    reboot
    download CC Desktop setup files
    set the compatibility to Windows XP Service Pack 3
    try to install with administrative rights, wait for Error-Message that something is missing and you have to redownload the setup-files
    undo the compatibility-settings and run the Setup with administrative rights again
    Now it worked.
    I'm seriously interested in what kind of update this is, that it is resolved by setting the compatibility to Windows XP SP3...
    Especialliy, since Creative Cloud was promised to make my whole workflow "joined" and therefore easier.
