TO Generate Reports in Tamil font/language
Dear All,
I have created a report with Tamil contents. It is executing well when i run in report builder after successful compilation.
But when i move the rdf to the report server/folder i am facing issue. The report is not generated. Only a blank page appears.Can anyone guide me how to resolve to run the report in Tamil font/language.
If the reports works ok locally from your PC, and when you put it on the server it does not display, I believe the problem is font installation on the server, check with you server administrator for this font, or try another font and see what happens

Generate Report with fixedsys font
Hi, I created a report with fixedsys font , it works fine with oracle 6i but when converted to application server 10g the font change to Ariel and I can not make it appeare as fixedsys.
As long as the font is on your system and it is licensed for embedding, you need to embed the font in the PDF. That is set within the job.options. Typically the print and press job options will embed all fonts. Standard will embed most. Smallest-file-size embeds no fonts as I recall.

How to generate a report with Courrier font and no horizontal lines?
Hi guys,
In a wizard-generated report, I want to accomplish the following things.
1. Print table data (I'm only printing one column) in a non-proportional font (e.g. Courrier).
2. Suppress the vertical lines that Apex automatically puts in between each record.
How can these two things be accomplished?

P.S. I'm running Apex 4.1.Fair enough. I'll try to be more specific. Assume you're running a query from SQL Developer on a single column from a single table. In the table, the data is already formatted to be displayed using a non-proportional font (old-time religion here). SQL Developer will show the contents of the column formatted exactly like the author intended (non-proportional font and no "helpful" horizontal lines between the rows). That's exactly what I want Apex to do. In the rectangular area that Apex creates for the report contents display, I want Apex to show the rows from that table in a non-proportional font with no horizontal lines between the rows. The report query will be just about as simple as possible (i.e. select col1 from tab1 order by col 2). How should I go about achieving this result?

PDF Report with Korean font work fine in 9iDS but not in 9iAS

I am using Oracle 9i Application Server 9.0.2.0.0, When i try to run the report using Korean font The pdf report not showing the korean font correctly.
I tried the same in 9ids , which is working properly. I have done exactly the same setting in 9ias, but it is not working.
The Oracle ias report service dialog shows version 9.0.2.0.3
My 9ias settings

As such there is no change in both the report servers , same output in win2000 and win2003. I am generating the rep from 9ids for both 9ids and 9ias, and i am using font UWKMJF which is korean charecter support, but 9ias is generating some junk charecters with spacing , 9ids is working fine.
The PDf Document font is showing
Origial font = HYSMyeongJoStd-Medium-Acro type=type1 (CID) Encoding=KSC-EUC-H
Actual font = HYSMyeongJoStd-Medium-Acro type=type1 (CID)
which is same as 9ids, but the data displaying in the pdf are not proper.
As you mentioned about the patch, which patch i have to apply. can you please also mention the patch numbers.

Hi All,
We used report generation tool kit to generate the report on word and with other API 's under it,we get good reports .
But when the data points are more (> 100 on all channels) it take a long time to write all data and create a table in the word and generate report.
Any sugegstions how to make this happen in some seconds .
Please assist.Well, I just tried my suggestion. I simulated a 24-channel data producer (I actually generated 25 numbers -- the first number was the row number, followed by 24 random numbers) and generated 100 of these for a total of 2500 double-precision values. I then saved this table to Excel and closed the file. I then opened Word (all using RGT), wrote a single text line "Text with Excel", inserted the previously-created "Excel Object", and saved and closed Word.
First, it worked (sort of). The Table in Word started on a new page, and was in a very tiny font (possibly trying to fit 25 columns on a page? I didn't inspect it very carefully). This is probably "too much data" to really try to write the whole table, unless you format it for, say, 3 significant figures.
Now, timing. I ran this four times, two duplicate sets, one with Excel and Word in "normal" mode, one in "minimized". To my surprise, this didn't make a lot of difference (minimized was less than 10% faster). Here are the approximate times:
Generate the data -- about 1 millisecond.
Write the Excel Report -- about 1.5 seconds
Write the Word Report -- about 10.5 seconds
Seems to me this is way faster than trying to do this directly in Word.

How to fetch latest data from database instead of clicking on Generate report in RSRT?

We are not able to get latest data of BEx query.Everytime we have to click on Generate Report button in RSRT for getting latest value.
Is there any way to get latest value automatically? We are not doing any changes in query.
When we click on Generate Report it is fetching data from Database instead of cache,so if it is possible to disable cache or any other workaround?
We have used time(0TIME) characteristic in query as a formula variable. We have applied a condition on that variable to fetch the first record (latest value). When we click on generate report, it fetches correct value with latest time but when we run the query without generate report, it is not fetching latest value. The cube on which this query is developed, is a realtime cube.

HT4980 Adding Tamil Font to an iBook thats created with iBooks Author ?
I am trying to add Tamil Font ( Used for Indian Regional Language - Tamil ). I Have over 1500 titles on print and would like to digitalize them for iPads.
When I opened iBooks Author, I don't see any Tamil Fonts available. How do I get around this or is there any other steps that I need to take inorder to make this work.

Go to system preferences/language & text/input sources and check the box for Show Input Menu in Menu Bar. Then go to the "flag" menu at the top right of the screen and select Tamil. Then type.
What you type in iBooks Author is automatically Unicode. I was referring to the case where you might use some sort of scanning to convert your print titles to digital text. -
How to embed custom font (tamil font [ta_IN]) in my android application
We are developing a mobile application (targeting for android & ios) using Adobe Flash Builder 4.6, Adobe AIR 3.5. Requirement is to localize the content for indian languages, and rite now we are targeting tamil locale. We implemented the localization, it is working for the locales where the fonts are available on the device, like french, chinese etc., but not for tamil locale. As the device doesn't have the font, we would like to embed TTF font.
After googling on the subject, these are the steps we did to embed tamil font, without any luck.
1. Used fontswf to convert to SWF
2. In the main application, we embed the SWF (got the Class reference)
3. Registered the font
4. When the locale is changed to Tamil, we are changing the application style (fontFamily) to the Class that we got in Step 2
PS: Currently we are testing on android devices, however the solution needs to work for ios as well
Unfortunately, this is not working. Requesting your help in this regard!i am bumping this up. i cannot seem to get this to work on iOS, but was able to get this to work on Android using device fonts.
Anyone here have expereince dealing with the Tamil language on iOS through AIR? -

Thanks for your post and welcome to the Nokia forum.
Your phone can't be updated with Belle, your phone being symbian 9.4, only the symbian ^3 can be updated in symbian Belle. You can check your last software version via this link.
To install tamil language in your phone, I would suggest you to contcat your nearest Nokia care point. They'll do it if it's available for your mobile.

Generate Report Get Data to Modify.vi produces an error code 97
The "Generate Report Get Data to Modify.vi" produces error 97. I found some help regarding "font style.vi". The recommendation was to recompile the VI, but it didn´t work. Also to change the property node to a different property and back to the original didn´t work, too.
You hit the big solutions. Have you been able to isolate where in the VI the problem occurs? You will probably have to dig in the subVIs. Also do you see this problem if you install on another computer? Consider also reinstalling LabVIEW and Office if you are using the toolkit.

First you are posting in the wrong forum, your profile indicates you have a MacBook, this is an iMac forum. Next you should NEVER NEVER NEVER shut down with the power button. If your system freezes attempt to force quit the offending application, you can force quit by using the Apple Menu or pressing Command + Option + Esc. Or you can always leave Activity Monitor running and when it freezes check AM to see if you have anything taking all your CPU, if so quit that action.
I suspect your HD has crashed, you should run Apple Hardware Test in Extended Mode. Make sure you run in Extended Mode! If it reports errors then you need to boot from the OS X disc that came with the computer or the latest retail OS X disc you have and run Disk Utilities - Repair Disk. If it finds errors run it over again until it reports no errors. After 4-5 runs of Repair Disk it still reports errors you need to replace the HD.
If you want to try to Boot to Safe Mode the instructions are in Safe Mode.
