Toshiba Dynadock Universal USB 3.0 Docking Station (PA3927U-1PRP)

On every desktop and laptop system I have ever owned, when you plug in a set of headphones into the headphone jack, the speakers are silenced. On my Dynadock, when I plug in my headphones into the front side headphone jack, the speakers can still be heard? What do I need to do to silence the speakers?
Always looking for help,
FrankT

only if you have the USB 3.0 port on your X220.

  • Dynadock Universal USB 3.0 Docking Station: no autoconnect of USB-HDD after Win8 power-up

    Hello,
    I've recently obtained a Dell XPS-12 which only has a SSD-HDD.
In order to overcome the limitations in terms of available connections I bought a Dynadock which works fine so far.
I want to use the Dynadock in a configuration where it is the only device connected to the laptop and all peripherals are connected to the dynadock.
If I connect a USB-HDD to the dynadock I so far did not manage to have the HDD reliably connected to the laptop after power-up, sometimes it works, sometimes I need to unplug the HDD.
I did not find a sequence of powering up laptop/dynadock that does the job.
    Any ideas?
    Best regards
    Tim Tom

Did you ever resolve this issue, because I am having exactly the same issue!  Thanks!

  • Toshiba USB Dynadock vs Lenovo dedicated port docking station

Thanks for that. I suspected USB's would be inferior.

Has anyone used the Toshiba Dynadock U3.0?We have been using Lenovo x201, x230 laptops etc. with a purpose made Lenovo dock that uses a docking port on the base of the machine. These allow the laptop to sit on the dock with the lid closed and the connected devices (monitor, keyboard, mouse etc.) all working. We are considering replacing these with Toshiba Portege Z20 or Z30 etc. laptops which seem to only have the option of a USB 3 dock. Can anyone describe how the dock works, in terms of whether or not the laptop needs to be open for the dock to work? How does this operate if the user just wants to use it as a desktop (ignoring the laptop itself). Is there a sequence for docking and undocking or can the cable just be plugged in to go?And finally, does the Dynadock support multiple external monitors? Cant tell this from the limited info...

  • Blue screen from USB adapter on Docking Station

My T430s will invariably BS within 5 secs ~ 5 mins of plugging in a certain wifi network USB adapter into the docking station, whereas plugged directly into the T430s, it's fine.
It's a trusty Rosewill RNX-G1W that I carried over from a T61p, and is compatible with Linux on VMWare.  I've used it on XP, Vista, and now Win 7 64-bit.  I have the latest driver, specific to Win 7; although the default one Win 7 self-installs when it recognizes new USB hardware works just fine, except with docking station.
Any idea why it crashes when in the docking station but not in laptop ports?  Even when laptop is attached to station?  I've tried both the USB 2.0 and 3.0 ports thinking it was power related, but that changes nothing.
Particulars:  Win 7 64-bit, 16GB RAM, 14" screen w/ NVIDIA Optimus chip.  Event log only show loss of Kernel-power causing crash.

  • I am trying to format a new external hard drive. It is attached via a USB 2.0 docking station. It does not show up in Disk Utility or Terminal, but does show up in System Profiler. How can I get my MacBook Pro to recognise it?

I need help trying to format an external hard drive. My Mac won't recognise it anywhere other than System Profiler.

The problem is that it is a Western Digital 3.5 inch internal hard drive housed inside a hard drive caddy. So the only way to connect it to my computer is through a dock.

  • Problem with USB port on X6 docking station and X60 laptop

    Hello all,
One of my users is having a problem that when she undocks the X60 laptop from the X6 docking station and then re-docks it later, the devices connected to the USB ports on the X6 docking station are no longer recognized.  Even after repeated re-boots I can't get the USB ports to work.  The USB ports on the laptop still work, but not on the docking station.  Anyone know what I need to do to fix this?
    T

BIOS 2.19 is for X61 series not X60(s).
    Here're my solutions.
Solution 1. Unplug all USB devices from docking station. Reset BIOS to defaults, save settings, reboot, plug all devices back. All of them should work now.
Solution 2. Power off your system. Un-dock your laptop. Unplug all USB devices from docking. Re-dock your laptop back again. Power on your system. Plug all devices back again after system booting. All of devices should work now.
I tested both on my X60s working even if it seems rediculous.
Lenovo promised to send me a new docking; however, I don't think it will help unless new BIOS is released to solve this issue.
Note: the kep point is you have to wait to plug all devices back to docking after system boots.
    Good luck.

  • Docking station question

My current port needs replacing.  What are the advantages of a docking station vs a hub?

The advantage of a docking station over a USB hub is the other connectors. While a hub only has USB ports, a docking station will typically have a VGA port, a LAN port, a sound jack and a microphone jack plus a number of USB ports. The type and number of ports depends on the docking station. A typical docking station is going to cost about $150. USB hubs are a lot cheaper, but only have the USB ports and none of the other ports like a docking station.

  • Docking station for my HP ENVY TS 15 Notebook PC

I just bought this laptop and I need to buy a dociking station to it. With my previous laptop there was a connector on the bottom that would snap to the docking station and make it work.  The HP ENVY TS 15 Notebook PC does not seem to have any special connections. What dociking station it uses? Thanks

Consumer laptops no longer have an option for a "snap down" dock which is a shame but now industry standard. HP Business models do have that option. The only thing you can use with consumer models is a USB 3.0 "docking station" which is a bit of a misnomer since they are really "port replicators". However, USB 3.0 has enough bandwidth to replicate any and all ports on the laptop so they can have gigabit ethernet, good audio and even multi-monitor video that works fine.  Something like this: http://www.amazon.com/HP-Replicator-Docking-H1L08AA-ABA/dp/B008KMDVME   See, this one has 2 x usb 2 2 x usb 3, audio, ethernet, hdmi and displayport. It has its own power supply so when you hook up the laptop you hook up two cables to the laptop...its own power cord, and then connect this into one usb 3.0 on the laptop. Almost as quick as "snap down".  If this is "the Answer" please click "Accept as Solution" to help others find it.

  • Pavilion dv7 docking station

I want to find out if the Pavilion dv7-6b32us will take a docking station.  I'm fairly certain the answer is no but I would like to get that confirmed.  Thanks.
    This question was solved.

Not the snap-down kind. Laptop makers have pretty well abandoned those on consumer models and only offer them on purely business models. You can still use a usb 3.0 docking station and since usb 3.0 has such high bandwidth you can have things like video ports and other pass-throughs that work very well. The downside is a usb 3.0 docking station does not charge the laptop so it is not really a docking station to my way of thinking, just a "port replicator". Still you can set it up on your desk with the keyboard, mouse, monitor, printer, etc. and have an extra AC adapter there permanently so you just set the laptop down and plug in two things and you have your desktop setup, hot pluggable even.

  • Docking Station for AT270

Has anyone experience with docking stations for Toshiba Tablets? Does the "Toshiba Multi Dock with HDMI (for Toshiba Thrive Tablet) Part.-No. PA3934U-1PRP works with Exite Tablets especially with the german AT270-101?

The Toshiba Docking station PA3934U-1PRP seems to be compatible only with the Toshiba 10" Thrive Tablet Series
As far as I know there is no special docking station which is released especially for the Excite tablets series.

  • HP FQ834UT USB Universal Docking Station software won't work on my HP laptop with Windows 7 64 bit

I am using Windows 7 and when i went to load software for my docking station, HP FQ834UT USB Universal Docking Station, it said it couldn't use the driver.   Is there a software upgrade to allow this driver to work on a HP laptop with Windows 7 64 bit operating system?

I have the same issue - I have it installed on my Windows 7 64-bit machine and although it is running, it doesn't work.  I am sitting here in Starbucks, which has a Verizon Wifi hotspot (actually Boingo - which is what Verizon Wi-Fi uses) and the "Connect" box does not appear.  I had the same issue at an airport recently.  It's one of the worse pieces of software I have had the misfortune to use.  When it fails to connect, it causes the Wifi connection to drop (incompatibility with Lenovo Access Connections, maybe).  I don't think that Verizon understands the meaning of "QA" and "Software Testing".
