Totally frustrated with Apple!!!!!

I have authorized my sisters computer to play movies/songs that I have purchased using my account. However some of the movies won't even pull up in itunes. when I log into my account and try to download them i get a message.."if you download past purchases with your apple ID you can not auto download or download purchases with a different apple ID for 90 days" ... What is the point in being able to authorize 5 computers to your account if it doesn't work ... HELP, I am totally frustrated with apple and it's many products

If you redownload your past purchases on that computer then you will tie that computer to your account for 90 days : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4627 - your sister won't be able to use iTunes Match, automatic downloads, or redownload her purchases until the 90 days have completed. I believe that it's an attempt to try and stop people sharing purchases.
You can copy the films over from your own computer : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4527 (that page refers to music but it works for other content as well, I've used home sharing to copy films and apps etc)

No, I wouldn't.  At worst, I might sigh, then start troubleshooting the issue.
This is a technical support forum, not an emotional support forum.
What troubleshooting steps have you tried?
    Here are some:
Basic Troubleshooting Steps when all else fails
    - Quit the App by opening multi-tasking bar, and swiping the App upward to make it disappear.  (For iOS 6, holding down the icon for the App for about 3-5 seconds, and then tap the red circle with the white minus sign.)
    - Relaunch the App and try again.
    - Restart the device. http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1430
    - Reset the device. (Same article as above.)
    - Reset All Settings (Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings)
    - Restore from backup. http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1766 (If you don't have a backup, make one now, then skip to the next step.)
    - Restore as new device. http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4137  For this step, do not re-download ANYTHING, and do not sign into your Apple ID.
    - Test the issue after each step.  If the last one does not resolve the issue, it is likely a hardware problem.

Already frustrated by jumping in and not getting some needed information before hand, hmm k
Create a new apple id - OR
create a new free web base email - sign into the apple id you have now edit the primary email address with the just newly created email save [you justs freed your email address from being an apple id]
Once you have all the4 correct information/data etc needed to be able to then chose option None

  • I am getting frustrated with Apple not working with Flash player on some of my favorite web sites. Is there any alternative that will work on I-pad instead of flash?

I am getting frustrated with Apple not working with Flash Player on some of my favorite web sites! Is there another alternative to watching these site options on my I-pad?

Flash is not, and probably never will be, supported on the iPad : http://www.apple.com/hotnews/thoughts-on-flash/ . Plus it would be up to Adobe to make a version of their flash player that works on iOS devices - something which they have never managed to do and which they have now given up on trying to do.
Browser apps such as Skyfire, iSwifter and Puffin 'work' on some sites, but judging by their reviews not all sites. Also some websites, especially news sites, have their own apps in the App Store, so your could try checking there for your sites (and there is the built-in YouTube app).

  • Ok..... I am frustrated with Apple and my Ipod!  :(  Advice please.

    Hi all,
This is a long post so bear with me. I have had an Ipod Mini since June 2005, so it's not that old, but its over a year.... I have noticed lately that the battery was not holding it's charge like it used to. Instead of the normal 8 hours(I believe it's 8? for Mini's), it lasts about 2 to 3 hours!! I always charge it for 5 hours or more until it says "charged". And then after a few hours, I get a message on my screen that says that it needs to be recharged or even worse, it will totally shut off on me. So I signed up for the battery replacement and paid the $70 charge (yes, 70!!)
Now my concern is this. I did not do any troubleshooting prior to placing my battery replacement order, like is advised on the Apple website like charging it fully and letting it play continuous, as I already knew that it was not working well... so why bother. I decided to try it, out of curiousity and I charged it 5 hours, and its playing as I write this on shuffle and so far, its been playing non stop for 4 and half hours! All of a sudden its working well.. so it seems. The battery indicator says its about half way... (although I have read that the indicator can be misleading and inaccurate) but I was wondering this. Should I cancel my request and wait til my Ipod is totally wasted and no longer works or just keep my order.. and get a replacement? I was ready to send it in.
I know logically it does not make sense to not send it in for a new battery as first of all, its over a year old and I have read on these forums that average lifespan of an Ipod batter is about a year and half? So I should just send it in and GET IT OVER WITH, lol as it will soon crash. Here it is in front of me, playing well, going on 5 hours now and still... it is doing well. Can anyone answer why? LOL The only thing I can think of is that when I use my ipod under normal circumstances (changing songs constantly, fast forwarding, the backlight usage, etc), it WILL use more battery power...... than just playing songs on it as I am doing now, without touching or manipulating it. Because I am really surprised that all of a sudden, its working so well.
Has anyone had an Ipod Mini that has lasted them longer than a year and half? I feel like just cancelling my battery replacement order and waiting.......
Any feedback? I dont even know if the order can be cancelled as I did it last Friday. I just spent a half hour with Apple, talked to a rep, finally after being on hold and being disconnected twice! and he said to just keep my order (he did not even know if the order can be cancelled! these people are clueless!) as eventually, I will need a new battery and better now than later, was his suggestion. By the way, I can't believe that most of the people there have no clue as to what they are doing! That is so frustrating... not to mention, being disconnected twice, when one is already on hold for 10 to 15 mins each time!
ughhh... dilemna dileman. Sorry again for this long post. Anyone can offer me advice, I would be so grateful.
    Ipod Mini

    Hi, Thanks for the reply.
I agree.... Apple makes these claims about 18 hour playback times, but people dont realize that that is when its just playing back, as I am doing now.... but I fast forward songs and skip songs like a lunatic and it's no wonder it only lasts about 3 hours now. But I do believe that the battery is losing it's power, so maybe I will just keep the order and not cancel it. I know that in another few months, it will probably not play as good as it's supposed to. I just found a link that shows the playback times for diff. ipod models:
    http://support.apple.com/specs/ipod/iPod_mini.html
and I found out mine is a 2nd generation Mini.... so they say 18 hour playback time. MIne now is no where near that. LOL More like 5 hours at least... and that is without using under normal conditions. So I will just keep my order for now.
One question.... does anyone know if they will send me the same one, just with a new battery? Or a totally different Ipod Mini? and if they do send me a new Ipod mini, will it be refurbished? Anyone have an problems with a refurbished Ipod replacement so far?
    Thanks all.

  • I have never been so frustrated with Apple in my life!

I am disgusted. Not just by the issues I've got with wifi, but with Apple's lack of response and fixes.
Since installing Yosemite I have had massive wifi issues - to the point where I now have had to dish out £50 on a long ethernet cable and ethernet to thunderbolt adapter just so I can get paid!
There are only 2 things I need to work - my mac, and internet. So thanks a lot Apple, my trust in you as a company has been chipped away a lot over the past week because the tech I rely on to make a living is broken.
With no answers, and no fixes I now need to figure out how to downgrade back to Mavericks - more time lost.
I appreciate everyone posting their fixes on here, but honestly most of them don't make sense to me - I have been desparately waiting for a Yosemite update, but I now think going back to Mavericks is my only choice.

I understand it's very disappointing when an upgrade brings you serious trouble. It seems you depend on this machine for work and income?
    In that case:
Rule number one = Never update on a first release!
I can't remember having seen any first release ever that was totally free of bugs. So if your income depends on it, you better wait untill the second update (so 10.2). You seem to be mad at Apple because they haven't fixed the problems yet? Come on. Yosemite was released on 16th, that's two weeks ago. The first update takes usually a few weeks longer.
Rule number two: Never upgrade without having a complete backup of your Mac. If you have to figure out how to downgrade to mavericks, you probably haven't done that. If you had, downgrading would have been a piece of cake. At least backup all your data before you do downgrade to mavericks.
You can find several topics here on how to downgrade your mac.
    Good luck!

  • Im totally disappointed with apple i want my money back

    hi
this morning i had a fight with apple suport, i just bought this macbook 2 months ago, and now its dead, and they told me to take my laptop to an apple store and somebody will repair my macbook in there, but im real far away from the nearest apple store and i cant take my macbook  to that place, so i request if somebody can come to my place and pick my laptop but neither the apple support or the apple store cant  pick it up, because "they dont have that service they cant come to my adress and pick my laptop" now the only thing i have to do is sit and wait until that service its availabe
i really cant go there cause i work and study and i practicaly dont have time to that place.
im totally disappointed with the service and with the computers, i never thought the hardware would be so s hi itty

You must have got someone new at support. I called on a Friday with an issue, FedEx was here on Monday morning with a box to send the unit back in for service and on Wednesday morning it was back to me all repaired--at no cost, I might add. Just call back or use the online Express Lane support.

  • Total Frustration With Adobe Support!

Just a rant about current practices at Adobe......
Adobe's new flagship Photoshop CS4 Extended is hyped as the "Cat's Meow" of photo editing and graphics software. It has some of the most advanced features available including 3D, hardware rendering, advanced stacking, HDR, etc., etc., etc. It actually may be the most fantastic editing software anywhere! But, you can't prove it by me.... Not yet, and maybe not ever....
I can't install it! I have attempted to put it on two of my systems. One a Dell, the other a Gateway. Each has Win XP Home edition. After over six hours of install, uninstall, upgrade video drivers, download 814 megabyte files "twice," install Windows Service Pack 3, etc., etc., I finally called Adobe Support only to be totally disappointed with the non-support.
First, I am subjected to a lengthy wait listening to loud, bad, music loops. Next I'm connected to a "support" person, apparently in India or Pakistan with an accent making it very difficult to understand his "English." He wasn't at all interested in learning about "where" the installation had failed, but just wanted to shovel me off to download a "Windows Cleaner" and "CS4 Cleanup Script." He informed me that I may have to uninstall "ALL ADOBE PRODUCTS" before installing the CS4 Extended Trial.
Now the above statement is just plain stupid, especially from an Adobe representative! Try Adobe Flash, Photoshop versions 5, 7 and CS each complete with dozens of plug-ins, hundreds of actions, specialized settings, etc. How about Adobe Frame Maker with hundreds of projects, Adobe Quick Time, Adobe Encore, Adobe Premier, etc., etc., all with myriad data, plugins, etc. We're talking weeks of reinstall or a complete reinstall of the disk which would, of course, wipe out CS4 EXtended (if it were ever installed - LOL).
So after once again uninstalling the remnants of CS4, installing and running the Win cleanup and CS4 cleanup and reinstall of CS4 Extended - guess what? Yep, failed at exactly the same point - the installation of "Adobe Media Player."
I've wasted two days on simply trying to evaluate CS4 Extended. I've installed a service pack I didn't want or need. I've completely lost Flash thanks to the CS4 Cleanup script and still have no CS4 trial installation. I'm writing this while again listening to bad, loud music loops (for the past 45 minutes).
Listen up Adobe - I've spend many, many thousands of dollars with your company and deserve better treatment. Will I purchase CS4 Extended? It's not likely and becoming less likely with every bar of bad, loud, music loop. Do you actually want to sell your products? Then get some knowledgeable technical support people who can help sort out issues like this and make them available. Don't have some 1st level "support" dweeb who speaks the native language of the country where the support is to be given with an accent so strong that it's impossible for a native speaker to understand. Don't have someone who insults the intelligence of the potential customer with silly statements. In addition to the statement about possibly removing "all Adobe" software before the install, he make the mistake of telling me that this was only "Trial Software" an therefore not necessarily a "stable" and trouble free version. I had to remind him that Adobe states that you simply pay for then receive the unlock code and this "unstable" trial version becomes the "real" and "very expensive" CS4 release version! Give me a break already!!
End rant..... Beware. If you order CS4 maybe you should download the trial version first and be certain it will install and run on your system. I hope you have better luck than I've had.

    Hi Marian,
Assuming Adobe actually "reads" the forum, I believe that my statement
was appropriate since there are few, if any, other viable ways of
actually getting the message to them. "Support" is terrible unless one
can get to second tier and that's only available usually "after" you
have spent your money and discovered the issues. It certainly has not
"always" been like this. In the old days one actually could speak with a
"technical" support person and didn't have to jump through the hoops
with inexperienced first tier people who know just enough to be
dangerous!  Of course it's more difficult in trying economic times and
taking support off-shore is common to a huge number of U.S. companies
with varying degrees of success.  I'm certain that many simple question
could be answered in such a fashion, but not all and though forums like
this are very helpful, users also frequently do not have all the
information necessary to help resolve technical issues.
It is indeed the "trial version" which I downloaded (twice) and with
which I'm having the problems. The solution offered on this forum did
indeed get CS4 Extended on my system. Unfortunately, without the Adobe
Media Player which may, or may not be of significant importance which is
    yet to be determined.
Yes, I'm a user of  "many" Adobe Products since there has been an Adobe
company, and a user of Photoshop since the first release. My sole
purpose for CS4 Extended is for the 3D output. Otherwise CS works just
fine. I'm not really influenced by marketing, only interested in the 3D
output to video. I write tutorials and templates, for a presentation
slideshow software with which  I prepare image "objects" by using chroma
key software to create individual frames from video and animate as still
objects. Having a way to easily output cubes, cones, or other 3D
objects, etc., with chroma key green or blue backdrops is important to
me. CS4 Extended has this feature which I need, and I don't know of
other software presently available and which will fit into my workflow.
Photoshop CS works fine for the majority of my photo and graphic
manipulation, but it doesn't have this new and useful feature which I need.
I'm not upset with Adobe marketing - they actually pretty much advertise
truthfully in this case. Nothing which I've heard or seen from Marketing
at Adobe has really stretched the truth beyond credibility. I am upset
with Adobe's support service. It's gotten progressively worse over the
years and the arrogance has multiplied. There's an old saying which
somehow rings true here: you get what you pay for. One good technical
support person is worth half a dozen of what I'm seeing off-shore. They
are underpaid, inexperienced and generally (in my experience) short and
arrogant with potential customers. This isn't good for business. CS4
Extended is a comparatively expensive  investment and Adobe should go
out of their way to help facilitate the installation and use of their
trial versions. After all, that's what will eventually convince the
majority of people to buy or not.
    Best regards,
    Lin

  • Massive frustration with Apple Mail and POP accounts going offline

I love Apple mail. Best interface ever.
BUT... because of issues with Apple Mail, I've been forced to use Entourage.
I really want to use Apple Mail and hope someone here can help me with this.
I have two Yahoo business mail POP accounts that I need to have running for an online business I have. I keep Mail running all day and my .Mac IMAP account and a Comcast POP account stay up all the time.
But the two Yahoo accounts keep going offline. I get an Apple Mail message asking me to reenter my password. They won't stay up more than five minutes or so.
Over the course of a day, this is so irritating that, as I said, I've had to switch to Entourage, where the accounts stay connected all the time and work just fine.
I've scoured the forums here. Deleted .plists, added IP addresses, followed any suggestion that seemed plausible/ But no luck.
If Entourage works, Apple Mail, it seems to me, also should.
    Can anyone help????

Speaking as one forced to use Entourage at work I can with confidence say in my case that they are different products serving different markets with different needs.
Apple did not drop the ball - the server is asking for re-authentication of a POP client. Any POP client should behave the same way. Yes, the client could just provide the credentials again, but it is safer to reequire the user to respond to the request.
That the request happens frequently is a function of the interrelationship between the DHCP lease life, client, and the mail host's response to new information.
Who is providing your DHCP lease?

  • Frustrated with Apple Service and Apple Store... Lemon Law?

    Hello,
I'm wondering if anyone has had an experience like this before, and if so, how they resolved it? Also, does anyone have any sort of customer service phone number (not tech support), where I could reach a supervisor, or someone who deals with issues like this on a regular basis?
Let me start from the beginning, and give a quick run-down of my problems.
*First let me say that the first Apple Store I went to is almost two hours away from where I live, and the second store is just about two hours.*
I bought a 17" Macbook Pro (Unibody, 2.8ghz, 4GB, 500GB, antiglare display, etc.), in September of 2009. I had problems from the beginning, originally some problems with both the wireless card, and a general slowness of the machine, combined with a cosmetic defect in the screen. I made an appointment at the Apple Store. At the first appointment, they said they had to order a new display assembly to fix the cosmetic defect. So I drove home, got a call a few days later that the part was in. I called a few days later to say I wouldn't be down for another few weeks, and could they please hold the part for me. I was assured that they would. I drove down about a week and a half later, and was told the part was sent back; apparently the message the gentleman I spoke with on the phone had not gotten passed along adequately. I was a little miffed, but figured accidents do happen, so I'd give the benefit of the doubt.
When I returned to get the display put on, I reiterated the wireless issues I was having (the wireless signal strength was spotty, while my 3 yr old Macbook had perfect strength sitting in the same location [yes, I both alternated which one was on, to make sure there was no interference, as well as had them both on at once]). I was told that because they could not reproduce it there, they couldn't really do much. I also reminded them that the machine was still slow, and they recommended an OS re-install. They then took the machine in back and replaced the display assembly. When they brought it out a while later, the new display had the same problem. I mentioned this, and she said that all the ones that were in back seemed to have the same problem, so there's not much they could do at the store.
I went down again a few months later to let them know that the OS re-install hadn't helped, and that I really couldn't keep driving two hours each way to not get anything fixed. They apologized profusely, and said they could mail the machine to their depot center, where it would be repaired and mailed back to the store, upon which they'd mail it to me. They also ran some tests at this appointment, and discovered that the processor heatsink may be failing. They made a note, and sent it out. I got a call a week later from the technician at the depot location, quizzing me on the exact problems I was having, and spoke to him for almost twenty minutes while waiting for a doctors appointment. (We'd played phone tag for a few rounds before we finally spoke to each other). I described everything as best I could without having the machine in front of me, but I felt that I was a little ridiculed by the technician. The attitude I sensed was "our tests didn't find any hardware failures, so you must be wrong, or lying." He didn't use those words of course, but he didn't exactly hide it too well either. As I was called into my doctors appointment, (so had to hang up) I asked him over the phone to please do as many tests as possible, and use the machine if necessary to reproduce the effects. He said he'd try, and hung up. I received the machine a week later or so, with a sheet listing what had been done. The list reads:
    Labor charge
    Flat rate repair charge
Obviously, I wasn't actually charged for either of them, but absent a more detailed list of what they'd done, the only difference I could detect was that they finally replaced the defective display with a non-defective part.
After another month or so, I returned to the store to let them know I was still having problems, and to get advice. They told me that they'd have to reproduce the issue there in order to do anything. They proceeded to reproduce the issue, and told me that a CLEAN install should do the trick. I did a clean install, and copied things back on very slowly, a few things at a time. The problem persisted even before I'd put much back on.
About a month later, I made an appointment with the other Apple Store (I have two, both about two hours away), and took it down. They reproduced the issue, and said it could be due to a faulty hard drive. They took it in back and replaced the hard drive. I was a little unhappy how many appointments it had taken, but was hopeful that it had finally been fixed.
I got a survey in my email about my satisfaction with my last appointment, so I filled it out honestly: that I had been extremely frustrated and disappointed, but I hoped that the fix that was finally provided would be successful. I was contacted the next day by the Head Genius at the most recent Apple Store I'd visited. She was very nice, and spent some time quizzing me on approximate times of hangups and delays. I told her that it did seem like the problems were still there, but I wanted some more time to verify the specifics, and that they had in fact persisted through the HDD replacement, and that I'd call her back if they persisted.
After very carefully copying things back on (yet again), I realized that it still wasn't fixed. The slow opening of programs had been sped up considerably, but the actual running of the programs was slower than ever, rendering Aperture 3 nearly unusable. Almost every adjustment (and all brush adjustments) will result in a complete system hangup. The few times it occurred to me to open activity monitor BEFORE opening Aperture, I was able to nab a few screen shots using a mouse shortcut I programmed. They show sometimes Aperture uses up to 170% of the processor (!?!), and almost always over 100 when this happens. Other occasions, it's Finder that's eating it up. I ended up with 14 screenshots of about 7 or 8 separate incidents. (Each time, I had to force quit the program, and restart the computer. At NO point was any other program running besides Finder and Aperture 3).
I called her back about three weeks after the last call, and explained that the problems were still happening. She was very nice again, and quizzed me about the problems, and durations of delays and hangups. She said that she'd order a few parts that it could be, and if I brought it down, they'd keep it there until they fixed it. I explained that after six trips of two hours and 90 miles, I'd put a lot of time, energy, lost work, and gas money and tolls into this computer, only to have it still not be fixed. I told her I wasn't sure that I would be able to come down again, and asked if there was any other way we could arrange this, or any other available options. She was very nice, but asserted that this was the only option.
Today, I went down again, and explained to them that I really can't come down again. After $150+ in gas and tolls, plus 28 hours of driving, plus lost wages, I just couldn't do that any more. They were very friendly, and kept telling me they really wanted to help me, but theres not much they could do as far as me not having to come down and pick it up again. A few minutes later, we were discussing the specific issues, and it was actually working for once, and they said that they couldn't replace it without verifying the issue, because Apple would throw a fit. (Understandably). This combined with overheard conversation, and other snippets of things said directly to me, led me to believe that if the issue could be reproduced, the computer would be replaced, and I wouldn't have to drive down again.
A few minutes later, after showing them the screenshots taken previously, we reproduced the issue. Aperture caused a system hang bad enough to prevent showing the dock, quitting, or force quitting (including the keyboard shortcut). I then told them that I had to leave in ten minutes (My sister had a birthday party starting at noon, and they needed adult supervision by that time). They talked for a few minutes and after continually assuring me there was no way around me driving down again to pick it up, told me that they would mail me a box, I could mail it back to the store, and then once it was fixed, we could discuss how to get it back to me. Being in a huge hurry, I grudgingly accepted this, and left.
I guess I'm a little confused that they didn't replace it after reproducing the issue, which they seemed like they were willing to do until I reproduced it.
On a whole, I've been extremely disappointed in Apple Service on all ends, both depot and store, and I'd like to know if there's a number I can reach to get some sort of escalation to at least talk to someone, and maybe get some sort of explanation of how it's okay to have someone make seven (almost eight) four hour trips for one single computer problem with a computer that is under warranty.
At this point, I'm so frustrated, if I could get my money back, and never buy an Apple computer again, I would actually think seriously about it. I was a recent convert (bought a macbook for college in 2007), and thought I would never even think twice about going back, but after this... I'm really not so sure. The only thing that would really prevent me from doing so is probably the $1000's in software I'd have to re-buy for windows, especially since you can't get student discounts twice on one title from most companies.
I think it's pretty unreasonable to expect someone to spend that much money on a computer that is under warranty, even if it's just on gas and tolls. I frankly can't see the logic in that.
Do I have any recourse? Even though it's only been technically "repaired" twice for the same problem (this will be the third) It's been looked at and analyzed seven times. I don't know much about lemon laws or consumer protection/warranty laws, but it seems to me that this should qualify.
If anyone has a phone number or email address of someone a little higher up on the food chain than a head genius at a NH Apple Store, I'd love to get this taken care of. Even a non-tech support customer service number would be helpful.
Thanks in advance, and sorry for the long novel up there.

I would suggest contacting AppleCare and briefly explain your frustration and ask to speak to a senior manager. Be articulate, have all of your facts organized including receipts, case numbers, etc. so when you talk to someone in charge you have your facts in a row. You should be also patient and persistent until you get a solution to your problem.
We are users just like yourself and cannot do anything other than provide some advice.
Had I been you with all the issues you seem to have been experiencing I would have asked to speak to a store manager. However hindsight is 20/20 so that doesn't do any good. If you do decide to go back to one of the stores make an appointment and when you arrive let them know you want to speak to the store manager. Again be articulate, organized and have all your facts ready including ALL documentation.
    Good luck,
    Roger

So, my problem is pretty self explanatory from the Subject heading. But here'e the whole story:
I decided to get a new ID for Apple because I got a new Ipod (my other one was stolen), and I ended up using the same password as the old ID (yeah, bad choice). So, I ended up having to change the password to something else. Little did I know, changing your password somehow messes up your account balance (the itunes giftcard amounts), so I have 69 cents left on my card, and for some reason, ever since I changed my password, it won't let me use the money!! It's not like I'm using a different ID (I'm using my new ID, also the one that I applied the recently bought gift card to) but it just doesn't recognize the money is there! I go to buy a song, so I click "buy" on one of the 69 cent songs, and after it asks for my password, it comes up with "insufficient funds" and leads me to where I can enter billing info so it can charge a credit card or something. I just don't get it!! The 69 cents is there, but I feel like it's somewhere in 'space'. The account does'nt recognize that it's there, but it is. And don't bother trying to tell me that sometimes it can get backed up in updating the giftcard balance, because I know how that works, and this isn't it. everytime i try to update it, it always will tell me that there is still 69 cents left. Plus, I did'nt even purchase any songs yet for 69 cents! Sorry for all that ranting. Please help though, it's frustrating. And most importantly I don't want it to happen again, in a case where I have a higher balance there, like 20 or 30 $ and have it not be able to be used (and gone to waste). :/ Thanks so much for reading, I hope you can answer, and if you are going through these same shenanigans, we can help each other out!

  • TS1538 i have done everything... It was detecting it just fine until I updated itunes.  I am getting so frustrated with apple that I am about to get rid of all 5 phones in my house and the 2 ipads.

I updated itunes and now my computer won't detect the phone.  I had to travel 2 hours to goto Apple store that tells me that there is nothing wrong with my battery- I just need to restore the phone.  Well I have tried and the phone wont restore.  I was told by apple representative to update itunes.  I did that an not it won't detect the phone.  I am so frustrated.  My phone won't charge hardly at all and it dies on me like every minute.  I have reset the phone and eventually it turns back on like I never reset it even thought I got the screen that says connect to itunes.  This phone is jacked and I believe I am getting the run around so the warranty runs out.  Someone help!  I have done all the troubleshooting and it's not working.

  • Frustrations with Apple TV Syncing

Ok, so I have my 160GB Apple TV synced to my iTunes Library. Recently, while perusing my Library, I noticed that I had a few duplicates in my playlist. I would play both copied versions to ensure that they were both valid, and set about deleting the duplicates. To my chagrin, I discovered today that apparently both versions in my Library were pointing to the same files, so my deleting them actually deleted them entirely. This is odd and frustrating enough, as it is inexplicable that iTunes would make duplicate entries for a handful of songs for no rhyme or reason, but oh well.
The real frustration comes from the fact that now, my Apple TV feels the need to completely re-sync portions of my library, including the 122 movies I own. So, now I am staring at my iTunes with the message 'Copying 1 of 191'. What is that all about? If a song disappears from my library, then I understand that Apple TV would loose it too (although I hate that about this device, I have learned to accept it), but why in the **** would iTunes think it needed to re-copy 191 files back over to the Apple TV?!?
As-is I find that iTunes periodically picks a handful of songs to 'copy' over to Apple TV despite the fact that nothing has changed, and find it a minor annoyance.
I love the idea of Apple TV, but sincerely wish that Apple would allow it to work autonomously. So I could just manually put want I want onto it without this whole syncing nonsense. Now I have no other choice but to sit here and wait while 100GB of movie files re-copy onto my Apple TV over my wireless network... a process that took over 36 hours last time.
What, if anything can be done to avoid this in the future?
    Thanks,
    Will

I've no answer to your issue of duplicate files. I've had occasions in the past where I'VE got confused and deleted stuff. I learnt that right / shift clicking the file, get info, would tell you the location of the file, ensuring that you were aware of the pointing to the same file thing even if itunes wasn't.
As for the resyncing...... I;ve also a 160GB TV... My first sync is always done over ethernet, which only takes a couple of hours (I've 120GB on content - Mainly naff 80's euro pop, as it happens!)

  • Frustrated with apple ID's

I have an old apple ID that I can't access. The password is changed and my security question is not the right answer. But, there are old Ipods and apps associated with it. What can I do? Is there a way to make sure the account is closed? It is frustrating that you can't reach a person who can answer you.

Contact iTunes support.  There's a link to it at the bottom of every page in the iTunes store.

  • HT203254 This does not work. Apple refused to repair my notebook though I applied for the the repair before 4-year period has expired. I am very frustrated with Apple and its quality and support.

4-year period expired on 12-th of December.
I have applied to an official Apple service on 4th of December with this problem with nvidia-8600 chip that was confirmed by the official Aplpe service.
I have a document that confirms the purchase date.
It was sent to Apple by the official service and they refused.
What we have is that Apple does not respond to obligations and all it declares can be considered as lie.

    The details:
    Repair Confirmation Number: G141323406
    Serial Number: W8******YJX
Reason for cancellation: Part is out of range, It does not qualify for quality program.
