Trade Promotion account type vs planning account incorrect gives no warning

Can somebody tell me if and how it is possible to create a warning/error message when planning account type filled in a trade promotion is not of account type as specified in the field "account type".
Eg. Account type is set to Hierarchy node
Planning account is filled with a customer number (instead of hierarchy node number).
I would expect a message, since incorrect combinations in this area gives trouble in further processing.
Can somebody help me on this.
Thanks in advance!
Carla

I had this problem - it appeared to be due to having Firefox 4 with the Firefox Sync installed as an add-on. Firefox 4 has sync included so there is no need to have it as an add-on. I went to the add-on manager and removed Firefox Sync and now appears to be working correctly.

  • Linkage of Account Type to GL Accounts

    Hi Experts,
I would like to ask how the system links together the act type (D,K,S, etc.) to GL accounts. It really is a big puzzle to me. I am aware of how Act Type is connected to Doc. Type where the system limits the account type that are allowed to be used for each doc type. But how does the system really knows that the GL accounts I have are D,K,S relevant?
I looked as FS00 and cannot see the link between the two (I presume account group is not the link). I have also searched the thread around here about this topic but it never got answered.
    Thanks
    cpf

These account types D, K, A are assigned in the "Recon account type" in FS00 and these Recon GL accounts are assigned to your sub-ledger accounts. When there is no recon account type, it is set to S. Hope this is clear.

  • How can I directly open a trade promotion WITH type?

    Hello!
I am trying to create a transaction, which opens a new trade promotion (I am this far) but with the promotion type (camp_typ) specified. I've tried using the classes cl_crm_mktpl_appl_base, cl_cgpl_object_manager and cl_cgpl_project, but they seem to overlook the filled camp_typ.
The problem is probably in the creation of the project or application needed to open a trade promotion. Does anybody have an answer?

  • Need edit that insures account type assigned to account assignment

Within our SAP requisition create/change transactions (ME51N, ME52N), we need a custom edit added to the programs (User Exit?) to edit that the G/L account is correct based on the Account Assignment being entered.  Following is the edit:
Account assignment "K", requires 'Expense' account (G/L acct starts with '6'),
Account assignment "Y", requires 'Capital' account (G/L acct starts with '16'),
Account assignment "V", requires 'Prepaid' account (G/L acct starts with '15').
This is all being put in place to accommodate the request to assign separate Requisition Release strategies to the 'Prepaid' requisitions.
Is there a specific customer/user exit or Badi that we can add our custom logic to in order to achieve our goal?
Some additional information: There could be more than 1 account per requisition line item (per EBKN table).
Any insight into handling this issue would be greatly appreciated and rewarded.
    Thank you,
    Tim

    Hi Charlie.
I still am having trouble with EXIT_SAPLMEREQ_005 in regards to be able to use it to resolve my issue.  There are a few things about it that I am unclear on.  I have created a custom project using transaction CMOD.  This project uses enhancement MEREQ001, of which one of the components is EXIT_SAPLMEREQ_005.  I have created the custom include ZXM02U05, which is identified in function EXIT_SAPLMEREQ_005.  If I am understanding you correctly, it is in ZXM02U05 where I should place my custom code.  The code I need to include in this edit is simple:
    - If the account assignment category is a "K", the G/L Account number must begin with "65"
    - If the account assignment category is a "Y", the G/L Account number must begin with "16"
    - If the account assignment category is a "V", the G/L Account number must begin with "15".
In order for these edits to work properly, I need the following data fields available to me in ZXM02U05: the account assignment field (I think I found this one - IM_DATA_NEW-KNTTP), the G/L Account number (unfortunately, I am not able to find a GL/Account data field in ZXM02U05 that contains the GL/Account number that was entered on the Purchase Requisition entry screen.), and I also need some way to set a flag and pass a message back to the program that calls this include that will cause the main program to hold up further processing of the purchase requisition if the conditions of the above edit are not met (including sending a message beack to the Create Purchase Requisition entry screen).
I know what I am asking is very specific, but my experience in user exits is minimal.  Any additional details that you can provide that would help me out would be greatly appreciated and rewarded.
    Thank you.

  • Account group and Account Type.

    Hi all,
Could you please tell me the diferences between <b>GL Account group</b>  (<i>by example cash, expense, revenue</i> ....) which we define in IMG - Financial Accounting - General Ledger Accounting - G/L Accounts - Master Records - Preparations - Define Account Group and <b>Account Type</b> (<i>by example: Vendor, Customer, Material, GL Account</i>) which is in the screen "create account type" IMG - Financial Accounting - Financial Accounting Global Settings - Document - Document Header - Define Document Types ?
    Thank you very much.
    Sylvecast

    Hi
Account Group Controls the Master records. It controls the number range of Master record and Field status group (Supress, Required, Optional and Display) also. SAP follows a Grouping principle all throughout SAP to handle the Master Records that may be in GL, AR AP any thing. See to create a GL Account group you define at OBD4 there itself you assign the Number Range or those groups which also controls Field Staus of GL Master Records. And for Creating AR and AP Master Records you create at OBD2 and Vendor at OBD3 which will also controls Field Status Group of And Number range of Master record. The only difference between GL and AR/AP is assigning of number range. For GL will specify at OBD4 itself but for AR/AP we need to create a number range at FBN1 then assign to AR And AP at OBD2 and OBD3 respectively.
One more thing. Remember only Field Status group of Master recard (OBD2, OBD3, OBD4) only contain Display option but not to Posting Key or Field Satus Group (OB41 or OBC4). I am so specifing becoz I commited this mistake in one interview.
In summary, the account group controls:
    i) The number ranges of the accounts,
ii) The status of the fields in the company code segment of the master record.  Since a chart of accounts contains many different types of accounts, they can be bundled into different "account groups ". Usually one account group bundles
accounts with the same tasks within the general ledger, e. g. cash accounts, material accounts, asset accounts, profit and loss
    accounts,...

  • Add more "Account Types" in chart of account

    Hi,
would it possible to add more account types to the "Account Type" drop down, and anyone who has an idea on how to do it?
It would of course be possible to catch the FORM_LOAD event for the form and add additional ValidValues, and in a similar way catch the FORM_CLOSE event and manually save the value to the DB, but this would probably cause problems in other modules using the value..?!
    TIA
    Martin Korsbro

I don't think it will be possible without breaking the data integrity of SBO.
The product has processing built in based on the 3 standard values (BoAccountTypes Enumeration), if you were to provide an alternate value it would probably cause exceptions in standard SBO screens and lead to some difficult issues for support.
It would be better to add a User Defined Field to the Chart of Accounts and specify the list of values you want there.
    John.

  • Cross Company MIRO Transaction - BSEG-TXGRP Not Valued for Account Type "S"

I am working with the ABAP group to create tax reports for audits and sales tax charged by vendor.  I am basically wanting a line item report of all purchases along with any tax applied to each line.  Therefore, I am, for the most part, using tables BKPF, BSEG, and BSET.  For our US transactions, we have one company paying the invoice on behalf of all other US companies.  Essentially, every transaction is a cross-company transaction.  The problem is I am having a hard time tying BSEG to BSET by line item.  For FB60 transactions, I can tie BSEG-TXGRP to BSET-TXGRP; however, for MIRO transactions, BSEG-TXGRP is not valued for Account Type "S" (GL Accounts).  Any ideas?  I could not find a note to capture this issue.  There was a note, but it was with regard to Account Types "D" and "K" I believe, vendor and customer accounts.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Deanna

    So,
Did you ever resolve this.  I have the EXACT problem right now.   Inter-co. MIRO documents only getting TAXGRP popuplated for Original Co. Document (not cross-co. document).
    Thanks,

  • Changing account types

My customer has realised after posting 150K worth transactions, that an expense account should has been marked as "Other"
When we try to change the account type to "Expense" the system shows a warning , and allows the change also.
My question is, how will the older transactions be affected when this change is made ?

If you read the warning carefully, you will know the consequence.  Generally speaking, whenever these kinds of setting change, the consistence of history will be very difficult or even impossible to maintain. However, the early change is a good thing.  It is better than if you find it many months later.
To reduce the impact, try to run all kinds of query and reports to see if anything need to be changed to make the data as clean as possible.
    Thanks,

  • Essbase API - Account Dimension - Account Type

    Hello all,
I'm connecting to a cube that has an account dimension and I need to extract the account hierarchy for a given member name. What I did to get the member information is:
    mbrSel = cube.openMemberSelection(null);
    mbrSe.executeQuety("<OutputType Binary <SelectMbrInfo(MemberName, MemberAlias, ParentMemberName )"
      , "@IDESCENDENTS (\"" + s_member + "\", 0)");
Now what I'm trying to get from this query is the account type(or the account aggregator). Is this information queryable?
    Many thanks!
    Rafael

In BPC, "Account" can be interpretted fairly generic.  Yes each application requires an account dimension and each account dimension member must be assigned a valid account type (Asset, Liab, Equity, Rev, Cost) property.  But that is the extent of the restrictions.  So in is not uncommon to see the account dimension be used to represent the vendor, the customer, the material, or a key figure.  That last option may be necessary if you want to track "statistical key figures" or various types of quantities in your application.  Just be sure to utilize the right account type attribute assignment to result in the correct sign handling and accumulation logic for your data.

  • Chart of Accounts - Account Types

    Hello All,
In the chart of accounts, account types there are three choices:  Sales, Expenditure and Other.  Are Cost of Goods sold 'expenditure' or 'other' and why?
    Thanks,
    Kathy

Thanks Rahul.  If a posting account has the wrong account type assigned what happens?
Is this correct?  All balance sheet accounts should be 'other'; all revenue accounts should be 'sales' and all COGS and expense accounts should be 'expenditure' and all finance and other revenue/expenses should be 'other'?
I'm concerned an account will have the wrong account type and that I don't understand the ramifications of assigning the wrong account type to an account.
    Thanks for your help!

  • How do I set up a POP email account (not an LDAP account)

When I try to establish a new email account with my COX provider, the mail program defaults to an LDAP account. LDAP doesn't seem to allow me to leave my messages on the COX server after I have read and deleted them on my MACBook. The POP protocol allows messages to be left on the server for a specific number of days
How do I force the account to be set up as a POP account?.

    Howdy Jerry,
    Welcome to Apple Support Communities.
It sounds like you want to setup your COX email account as a POP account in Mail on your MacBook Pro, which is running OS X Mountain Lion. The first article will guide you to the Mail account configuration panes where you can make the change, but I recommend reading the other two articles linked below also because they will tell you more about the types of email accounts that Mail supports and ensure the accounts are setup in a way that won’t cause more issues in the future.
Mail (Mountain Lion): Send and receive mail for all your accounts
    Set up your accounts
Choose Apple menu > System Preferences, and then click Mail, Contacts & Calendars.
Click an account type, enter your account information, and then follow the onscreen instructions.
Make sure the apps you want to use with the account are selected.
Mail (Mountain Lion): About account types
Mail settings you might need from your email provider
    I hope this helps.

  • Sharing accounts across 2 plan types  - Planning 9.3.1

This is my first attempt to share accounts across 2 plan types and I am not getting expected results. In the setup, account 1234 was assigned to both Plan A and plan B with the "source plan type" as Plan B. When I create a form for Plan B, everything looks good and I can input data into account 1234. Then I created a similar form for Plan A using the same account. With all other dimensions being the same, I expect that I would see the data input for Plan B, account 1234 in the Plan A form as a read only field.
Are my expectations incorrect? If so, then I don't understand the benefit of sharing accounts across multiple plan types.
    Any insight is greatly appreciated.

One benefit would be how you use the same data in one plan type against the other. A simple example:
Let's say in your example Plan B represents Revenue and Plan A represents Expense - one way some people design Planning applications. Let's also say that your company calculates expense as a percent of revenue.
The revenue group enters revenue figures into acct 1234 into the Plan B form.
When the expense group pulls up the Plan A form, which also shows acct 1234 (but as read-only), they can now calculate against it. So an expense user can enter % values into some other acct in Plan A, "Exp % Rev", and have it calculate against the read-only acct 1234 being x-ref'ed from Plan B.
    Plan B Form:
    ___________Jan__Feb
    "acct 1234"_100__100 (input)
    Plan A Form:
    ____________Jan___Feb
    "acct 1234"___100__100 (read-only)
    "Exp % Rev"__5%___5% (input)
    "Rev Exp"_____5____5 (calculated)
The benefit here is that no data movement or copy is necessary between plan types for this to work, assuming the x-ref is dynamically calculated. Users can see data in both places.
This is just a simple example, however, and may not make sense in all situations.
    Hope that helps!
