Transaction Test

Hi ,
I am conducting a test wherein I am initiating 5 threads and each thread is
carrying out a query and an update on a transaction.
I am not able to do that. I get an exception saying "Transaction is active"
Does this mean that I can have only one transaction active at any point of
time. Can I not have mulitple transactions for the same PM?
Is it a limitation on the JDO specs?
Thanks,
Sushanto
The test is as below:
import User;
import javax.jdo.Transaction;
import javax.jdo.Extent;
import javax.jdo.Query;
import javax.jdo.PersistenceManager;
import java.util.Collection;
public class TestThread extends Thread{
public static void main(String args[]) {
try {
for(int i =0; i < 5; i++) {
PersistenceManager gPm = Database.getPM("db1");
T2 t = new T2(gPm);
} catch (Exception e) {
e.printStackTrace();
class T2 extends Thread {
PersistenceManager gPm = null;
public T2(PersistenceManager pm) {
this.gPm = pm;
start();
public void run() {
try {
long memId = 0;
Transaction tm = gPm.currentTransaction();
tm.begin();
Class classObj = Class.forName("com.yodlee.yde.persistence.user.User");
Extent gExtent = gPm.getExtent(classObj, false);
Query q = gPm.newQuery(classObj, gExtent, "memId == 1");
Collection results = (Collection)q.execute();
User u = (User) results.iterator().next();
System.out.println("threadid:" + this + " :memId:" + u) ;
u.setLoginName("Sushi");
u.setLoginNameAsucase("SUSHI");
gPm.makePersistent(u);
tm.commit();
} catch (Exception e) {
e.printStackTrace() ;
System.out.println("exception");

Is it a limitation on the JDO specs?According to the spec, there is a one-to-one relation between PM and
Transaction. So, you can only have a single transaction per PM.
In fact, Kodo's PM implementation is also a transaction --
pm.currentTransaction() just returns 'this'.
So, you should re-write your test to create a new PM from a common
factory for each thread.

  • Can we do multiple transaction testing in different browsers?

    Helllo,  I am trying to do transaction testing instead of URL based i.e. suppose take net banking and wanted test login , post login and credit card section. Then how can i do that ?

    I apologize, I'm still a little confused as to what you're asking for. If you'd like to test transactions (e.g. logging into your website, entering credit card numbers), this is not a use case for BrowserLab.
    However, if you're saying you'd like to take screenshots of those states/pages of your application and make sure they look correct in various browsers, then yes, you should be able to do that. Install Firefox, Firebug, and our BrowserLab for Firebug add-on and you can interact with your pages and have BrowserLab take screenshots of the various states/pages you see in your browser. Details are here: http://forums.adobe.com/thread/786305?tstart=0
    Please let me know if I've misunderstood or if you have any further questions,

  • Transaction "test run" value

    Hello,
    Does anyone know (is that even possible) how to get the "test run" value (checked/unchecked) of a standard transaction like CJ44 into a Z-program...I'm using the CALL TRANSACTION statement
    thx
    petr

    Hi,
        i tried using following code for 'detail lists' for cj44 tcode checkbox as my test run check box comes default checkd.and this code is working fine.
    DATA: it_bdcdata  TYPE STANDARD TABLE OF bdcdata,
          wa_bdcdata  TYPE bdcdata.
      wa_bdcdata-program = 'SAPLKAZB'.
      wa_bdcdata-dynpro = '1000'.
      wa_bdcdata-dynbegin = 'X'.
      APPEND wa_bdcdata TO it_bdcdata.
      CLEAR: wa_bdcdata.
      wa_bdcdata-fnam = 'RKAUF-LIST'.
      wa_bdcdata-fval = 'X'.
      APPEND wa_bdcdata TO it_bdcdata.
      CALL TRANSACTION 'CJ44' USING it_bdcdata
           mode 'E'.

  • Web transaction test monitor with Extracture rules and replacement parameters.

    We are trying to setup a basic login test for a authentication scenario that uses OASIS Identity Server and Azure ACS Authentication.
    It uses a ws security token and is returns from the identity server as a wresult.
    This is passed to Windows Azure access control service (ACS) and another ws security token is passed in the wresult.
    Since each test run of this login monitor requires a new token, We are trying to capture this ws security token with an extraction rule and then add it in on subsequent requests.
    However when I run the test, I am not able to tell if I am extracting properly.  The only time I can see the actual wresult as a fully formed xml record is when I first do the recording.   When running the test after configuring the extraction
    rule,  I dont see any values that I expect.
    Is there a way to see these extraction values or what is happening during this process?   Are there any logs related to this?
    Thanks Lance

    You may find something in Event log or by a Network Package capturing tool.

  • SCOM 2012 SP1 Web Transaction Monitoring with Login test.

    Hi,
    we setup a web transaction monitor test and did the full recording.  The web site is one that accepts an active directory account for login.  We also setup a runas account that is a valid account for the site and configured NTLM in the settings
    for authetication and set this runas account.
    The test does not fail.    However when we change the runas account password to force a failure, we dont get a failure on the website login test but instead a runas account verfication failure from SCOM.
    How can we configure the web transaction monitor to properly login during the test?   Any guidance would be appreciated.
    Thanks Lance

    So back to the original topic of the thread.
    We setup another test on a site that uses basic authentication.  We setup the web transaction test to use a  login on a initial site that transfers to a second site.  We recorded this entire test and saved.  It seems to work as it gives
    no errors.
    However when we change the Runas account's credentials, which means it CANT login to the site, it still runs fine with no errors.
    This tells me it is not really logging in but just seeing the http status code is less than 400.
    What am I doing wrong.
    Thanks Lance

  • Is my test suite configured properly?

    I am building db-4.6.19 from source on Novell SuSE Linux 9.2 on ia64 (Intel Itanium2) hardware, then running the test suite with tclsh 8.4. Here’s my configuration line:
    cd build_unix
    ../dist/configure prefix=/home/mark/WORKAREAS/webplatform/build/dev/20070924 with-test --with-tcl=/usr/lib
    I run make and that goes well, then I run the standard test in tclsh via:
    echo 'info tclversion; source ../test/test.tcl; run_std; exit' | tclsh; tail ALL.OUT
    Most of the tests pass, but the tail of ALL.OUT is at db-4.6.19/build_unix/ALL.OUT (below) produces many error messages for a few tests. They seem to be variations on the same issue, and I’m not sure how to fix it at this point – can someone point me to help? It appears that a command isn't parsing properly.
    I'm not sure how to troubleshoot further, it seems to be a syntax error.
    Thanks!

  • 4.6C to ECC 6.0 Upgrade Transaction codes?

    I am involved in an upgrade.  I have a list of t-codes used on 4.6C.  I want to compare these t-codes with ECC 6.0 and find out which ones are gone and the ones that have changed.
    Is there any easy way or any one document that can help me acheive this?  I would appreciate the input from the experts here.  Will award points to any help provided.

    In my previous project 4.6C to ECC 6.0, which was a technical upgrade, we have done it manually, here is what we followed:
    1) In Unit Level T-Code testing, in technical upgrade, you are only expected to check the working of T-Codes in ECC 6.0 compared to 4.6C, this is on DEV server, with available data. Just execute the T-Code.YOU WILL KNOW WHICH T-CODE IS IN AND WHICH IS OUT(RARELY) IN DURING THIS ACTIVITY. SCOPE REMAINS THE TCODES USED BY YOUR CUSTOMER.
    2) In Integration Level Testing, User Acceptance Testing and Critical Transactions Testing in technical upgrade, you need to test the scenarios with a copy of production data on QAS server.
    Now, the comparision of the T-Codes can be -
    1) Functionallity point of view (refer link provided by Naveen)
    2) GUI
    In Technical Upgrades the focus remains on GUI only. Hence the comparision is done manually between from 4.6C and ECC 6.0. The scope should always remain the Test scripts signed off by customer. The reason is that the user's need to get trained on the changes in GUI for which we captured screen shots wrt 4.6C and ECC 6.0 wherever changes have been encountered within the scope of the test script steps.
    Was well received by the customer.
    Lastly, just focus on the approach to take to make things simpler for you.Check the context of your Upgrade Project and move accordingly.

  • EJB Transaction does not work

    Hi,
    I have a servlet, a session bean, and an entity bean. A servlet doesn't have any transaction attribute, a session bean has Required, and an entity bean has Required. I have the code like the following:
    Servlet:
    EJBDelegate ed = new EJBDelegate();
    TwoPhaseSB sb = ed.getTwoPhaseSB();
    sb.testTransaction();Session Bean:
    public void testTransaction() {
        try{
            TestInfoLocal testInfo;
            TestInfoLocalHome testInfoHome = TestInfoUtil.getLocalHome();
            testInfo = testInfoHome.create("525252", "353535", "transaction test insert", "etc");
            testInfo.setElement_id("111111");
            //There's no item which has its primary key as 7777, so there's exception error occurs
            testInfo = testInfoHome.findByPrimaryKey(new Integer(7777));
        }catch(Exception e){
             e.printStackTrace();
    }Since the code in testTransaction is supposed to run in the same transaction, if there's exception occurrs, isn't it supposed to rollback? I mean, creation of item and update should be rollback. But, the data is inserted and created although there's exception. Could anyone can give me the idea why transaction doesn't work? FYI, I'm using Weblogic8.1.

    Yes, you're right. I am using CMP. I added the following exceptions to my session bean but still the changes are updated:
         }catch(EJBException e){
              e.printStackTrace();
         }catch (NamingException e) {
              e.printStackTrace();
         }catch (CreateException e) {
              e.printStackTrace();
         }catch (FinderException e) {
              e.printStackTrace();
         } I tried to insert "TransactionRolledbackException", but it's not thrown in any statement since my beans are managed by container. Could you tell me what exception should I use? Or should I add some exception to my entity bean? Finder methods are throwing FinderException currently.
    Thanks,

  • How to define Export parameter as Import parameter in next test script.

    Hi Experts,
    We have defined Purchase order no. as export parameter in ME21N transaction test script.
    Test configuration for ME21N transaction executed succesfully and the Purchase order No. appeared in the last message
    is the export parameter for next test script i.e. MIGO transaction.
    However I am unable to define this export parameter as Import parameter in next test script for MIGO transaction.
    Please suggest me the method to define the same.
    Please Help...
    Thanks in Advance
    Vikas

    Vikas,
    You need to create super script which is nothing but having the both the steps (Po creation & MIGO ) in this eCatt script. This can be achieved by using the REF command as ex. below.
    Create PO
    REF ( Z_CREATE_PO , Z_CREATE_PO_1 ).
    Create MIGO
    REF ( Z_CREATE_MIGO , Z_CREATE_MIGO_1 ).
    Z_Create_PO is the actual eCatt script that you recorded to create the PO. Z_CREATE_QUOTE_1 is the interface created by SAP. Similarly you have use the REF command to call the MIGO script inside this super script.
    To pass the export parameter from PO step to MIGO, double click the Z_CREATE_PO_1and define the export variable for PO number. And do the same on the interface for MIGO step.
    Follow the instructions if you need in this help document posted by another user in this forum

  • Where to upload test case results in SAP Solution Manager?

    Hi Experts,
    I am new to test management module in SAP Solution Manager. I need to know where to upload test case results in sap solution manager.
    Please provide screenshots on how to upload test results.
    Regards,
    Sanjana

    Hi Sanjan,
    let me provide you some more information.
    First of all you create a SAP Solution Manager Project in Transaction SOLAR_PROJECT_ADMIN. I think this should be no problem. After creating the Project, make sure that the tap "Test Cases" is switched on in this project. The tap "Test Cases" is the tap below "Project Standards".
    Go to transaction "solar02" and choose your created project. Find the tap "Test Cases" and upload a sample file. Please note that the configuration structure of this project can be configured in solar01 (Business Blueprint). There are many settings you can choose in a project regarding ti your requirements. Try to find them out! :-)
    In transaction Test Plan Management (STWB_2) you can choose all relevant test cases you uploaded in your project and generate Test Packages which are mapped to your choosen Testers.
    In Transaction stwb_work you will see the testers workbench.

       Can u please help me what configuration I have to do so that I have the authorization to select the recording. As I have to do recoding on T-codes.

    Hello Kings,
    although the button to record transaction might be still available, there is no more function behind that. In the status line of your window you should get the message TT005 then.
    Since 2002 there is no further  developement for scat, only ecatt (transaction SECATT) is supported (because some CATT functions are not compatible with the 'new' R/3 functions (such as SAP Control Frameworks which is used in SAP Enjoy transaction like ME21n, ALV,....). Therefore they introduced more powerful test tool eCATT, which enables you to record those transactions with control frameworks using SAPGUI scripting. )
    Please review the SECATT threads for more information....

  • Passing variable as an input parametere to a transaction through an url;

    hi ,
    I am calling a transaction through an url into which i want to pass the input parametere to the transaction as an variable; my question is
    is it possible? if yes then how?

    Hi Diana ,Thanks for taking intrest in my question . I hav already gone through that link which you have given, what my question is that,
    consider this ex. given below
    Transaction=Test/YieldCalc&YieldFactor=10.0&OutputParameter=YieldAverage.
    in the above call i am passing 10.0  as input to the parameter YieldFactor .
    what i want to do is to store this value of 10.0 in a variable and then pass this variable to the parameter YieldFactor,
    say,
    var xxx=10.0;
    Transaction=Test/YieldCalc&YieldFactor="xxx"&OutputParameter=YieldAverage.
    I have tried like this but it  didnt worked.
    is it possible ?
    how?
