Transfer Employees between Business Group

Dear All
Please i found something called Oracle EBS Global Deployment under HR Professional Responsibility allow me to transfer employees between 2 Business Group
but still am searching for more details
because we need transfer employees between our companies but for some reason all company defined as BG and we cannot do that.
EX: Company A Company B
if we need transfer EMP from A to B we terminate him from A and we register him in B with new num
Please any one can help me to solve it.

Which will explain you the complete details of the Organization
You need to get the basics for this because these BG and OU are going to be the foundation for the instance. So just by know the definition will not help you

Hi,
I am new to HRMS module.
I want to find the employee's (from per_all_people_f) business group details.
I found a base table HR_ALL_ORGANIZATION_UNITS, but there are many records in that table with the same business_group_id as that by itself isnt a unique key.
Could some one assist me in finding the link between employees and their BG.

the business group details are stored in the table "*PER_BUSINESS_GROUPS_PERF*" So you can use the following clause:
where PER_ALL_PEOPLE_F.BUSINESS_GROUP_ID = PER_BUSINESS_GROUPS_PERF.BUSINESS_GROUP_ID

Transfer values between Function Groups

This may be a very silly question. I have two function groups x and y. X calls a z function module which is in the same funcion group as X. Now I want to pass some value that x gave to z to Y function module . How do I do it??

I think function Z shouldn't called by X, but Y.
Infact X and Z are in the same group so they can see the global variables of group.
For example:
GROUP 1 -> Function X, Z.
TOP include.
DATA: FIELD1 TYPE C.
DATA X_BKPF LIKE STANDARD TABLE OF BKPF.
FUNCTION A.
FIELD1 = 1.
X_BKPF = .....
ENDFUNCTION.
FUNCTION Z.
EXPORTING
REFERENCE(FIELD)
TABLES
T_BKPF...
FIELD = FIELD1. "Take field1 value

Transfer Employee From one Business group to another

Hello,
As per my understanding we do have a functionality of transferring employee from one business group to another. Can any one tell me the exact steps for the same. It is there from 11.5.10 and the profile setting we have to set is HR: Propagate Data. Can anyone tell what from here I need to do for a transfer for employee between business group.

Benefit tab is not available for all BG responsibility, like india is not having the benefit tab.
Secondly if i want to go for some Long range compensation say an employee has worked for 2 yrs then he is eligible. Now technically speaking the the transfer employee should be eligible for the same. But if we terminate him and then hire him back in the new BG only the thing that is same is Party_ID apart from that is nothing same. Can you please put some suggestions.
Eg: Person Hired on 10 Jul 2007 in US BG
Person Transferred to India BG on 20 Jul 2008
Now the company plans to give a compensation to all the employee who have been part of the company for 2 yrs or plus till 20 Jul 2009
Now this particular employee will not be pulled out in the eligibility criteria.
Can any one please pass there comments

Employee Numbering in Multiple Business Groups

Hi All,
We are having 2 business groups. The employee numbering is automatic and global sequence. The employee transfers between business groups is quite common and the client wants the same employee number when the employee transfers from one BG to another.
Example: Employee ABC is hired is BG1 with employee number as 10001 and when employee is transfered to BG2 the client wants the employee to retail his old employee number in the new BG.

Hi,
I have done this before. You need to set the numbering to Manual (with profile option) and then edit the fast formula associated with Numbering.
You need the following logic inside PLSQL procedure (gets called through FF) for this requirement:
- Check if the employee is a transfer case. Use (first name , last name , date of birth) combination on per_all_people_f to check this. Note person_id and business_group_id will be different for a transfer case
- If the person is transfer case then derive the previous employee number (from per_all_people_f)
- else derive the last used employee number from per_all_people( select max(employee_number) from per_all_people_f) and return this number by adding 1.
- he employee number field might have characters in it so you need to replace characters while deriving latest employee nnumber (select MAX(translate(employee_number, 'ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZ',' ')) from per_all_people_f)
Please note the fast forumula needs to be edited and verified from SETUP BG for this case.
When you initially install Oracle HR (and it does not matter whether shared install or full install)
you get two options, Automatic or Manual, as a choice for Employee Number Generation.
If you choose Employee Number Generation = Manual, and then later decide to change to Automatic,
you can do this.
But, if you started as Manual, and then changed to Automatic, and then once again want to change
back to Manual,
Employee Number Generation = Manual will no longer show up in your LOV for Employee Number
Generation.
You only get to do this once and cannot go back to Manual Employee Number Generation if you have
been there before.

Cross Business Group employees PO Approval?!

Dear PO Experts,
I have situation some thing like this. I have 3 business groups called BG-A and BG-B
I have employees defined in BG-A as follows who are PO approvers(Who has authority to Approve PO)
John
Adam
Smith
I have employees defined in BG-B as follows, who makes PO.
Nancy
Maria
Now my question is?
Can John(BG-A) approve a PO made by Nancy(BG-B)? (note: these two employees are defined in Different BGs)
Please let me know your views.
At this point in time John, Adam and Smith names defined as employees in BG-B as well to fecilitate the approval process?
Note: we are using Approval Workflow.

Hi,
Employees are restricted at Business Group level and not at Operating Unit level. So only employees belonging to the same business groups can be used to form an approval list.
So you cannot use employee from a different business group(A) to approve PO created by another employee from business group B.

Sorry for delay.
you can goto SPRO> Enterprise Structure> Assignment> Human Resources Management> Assignment of Personnel Area to Company Code for assigning personal area to company code.
then you can goto the t-code PP02, Where Object as 'S' then position number then Infotype should be 1001 then Subtype is A011(for mastercost center) then create a realtionship with valid date intervels. After that you can run the action to update the cost center in IT0001. {Where Master cost center and company code assignment can be done by FICO people.}.

Seeing Record From Another Business Group

Hi there,
In our implementation we have 2 business groups. Employees from business group A can be supervisor of employees in business group B and vice versa. Although when we try to assign person record of employee in group A to the supervisor field of the surbordinate in group B, the name doesnt come up. Can someone advise on how it is possible to assign the person in group A as the supervisor of the person in group B.

Rehire contingent worker to employee into a different business group

How to rehire contingent worker as an employee to a different business group programatically. I used hr_employee_api.hire_into_job to rehire into the same BG.
Can any one suggest a solution ?

Hi,
I got the answer to my question. We can use the party_id of the existing record in per_all_people_f in the create_person API and pass all the values like business_group_id and other details and the CWK will be rehired as an employee in a different BG.
From PUI, we can hire the CWK into a different BG by entering his last name national_identifier and enter the employee type and save, then there will be a popup showing the EMP/CWk matching the criteria in different BGs and select the appropriate emp/cwk and you can rehire them

Capture employee salary in different currencies in a single business group

Scenario: Under single buiness group, employees information of multiple countries are recorded (as there may be very few employees in each of those countries).
Provided payroll is NOT implemented, how do we capture employee salary information specific to individual country ie., capturing employee salary in different currencies under single business group.

You can use Add'l Salary Admin. Details DFF to capture Currency and its converted Value. Main Salary will be in one basic Currency.

Security Profile Seeting with in a Same Business Group

Hello,
With in one business group I have employee of multiple country. Now the concern is that I need to have two different responsibility through which I can restrict the employee as per the country.
The things which identify between countries are. 1. They have different GRE. 2. They have different Operating Units. I have tried to create a security profile it has the one option Secure organization by single Operating units, but I ma not able to see that working? Where exactly we need to declare the operating Unit i need to secure for? Can any one suggest me a suitable work around.
The version we are using is 11.5.10

If you security profile is 'static', then you need to run the concurrent process 'Security List Maintenance'. This will identify all records which match the security profile rule and then allow the user to see those records when the use their 'secured' responsibility.

Hire a contractor from Belgium business group to US business group

My client has a requirement that they want to hire the contractor from Belgium business group to US business group as full time employee.We have those employees entered as contractors in belgium responsibility.Please let me know how to handle this.

You could take a look at Global Overseas Deployment (GOD/GOLD) functionality but that's designed to transfer employees from one business group to another. It doesn't handle a change in system person type at the same type.
Regardless of whether you use GOD/GOLD or not, the most common way of doing this is to effectively mirror the same process:
1. You terminate the contractor in the source Business Group
2. You re-create the person as an employee in the target business group
3. The two can be linked together via party_id for custom reporting (etc)

Individual Business Groups

We have existing financials running with a Business Group (not the set up BG).
Now we are implementing HR & Payroll. I know we should use the same business group.
But is it something worng, if we define a separate new BG for HRMS implementation (Though we have sparate BG for Finacials & HRMS, the SOB is one & the same). What kind of impacts will it have considering the transfer to GL, approval process in Financials, etc.

First thing for one legislation it is advisable to use one BG
Please let us know why you are planning to create the Separate Business Group and is there any specific business Reason for that..
If you define a separate business group then all your transaction will reside in this New Business group only. You cannot use the employees in the new BG for any PO approvals or other transaction in a Different BG
Yes you can see the employees across BG by enable cross Business Group
Also Oracle recommends to have one BG per legislation

Can I transfer photos between users on same macbook?

Can I transfer photos between users on same macbook? I've exported them out of iPhoto into a folder on desktop. Would like to move them into other User account on same laptop.

I did figure this out eventually and am going to record it here so later, when i ultimately forget the twists and turns I took to make this happen, I'll be able to come back and see....For me it was not as simple as John (above) offered...First: Export photos from iPhoto into folder on desktop. Click on the folder and select from the top left corner File - Check info- click the box beside shared folder- scroll down to Sharing & Permission and make sure the other user acccount is added to who can read & write.
If you haven't done this already go into System Preferences- Sharing- check the box beside File Sharing- click on File Sharing as well and 2 windows will appear- Shared Folders and Users. Select the shared folder you want to use and in the User window add the other user account to who can read & write.
Next: Open Finder- select Public Folder- drag photo folder into it.
Now log off and open your other User profile. Open Finder. Select Macintosh HD in the side bar- select Users Folder- select the original User profile you want your photos from- select Public Folder- your photo folder should be there, drag it onto your Desktop or directly into iPhoto. If a block occurs saying you aren't alllowed to see this folder then you missed a step in the whole file sharing business.
Viola! it worked. Hope this helps someone else
