    Firstly, I am a techno-dunce and tend to avoid forums as I never understand the language used in the answers to my questions... so please help me but keep it veeeeery simple!
    My Ipod was registered to 2 computers in Ireland, where I was living, and I bought tunes on one of the computers from the Irish Itunes store.  Everything was synched to my Ipod... so far so good.
    When I left Ireland I did not have any of my CDs so was advised to use something available free on the internet, xilisoft?, to get the music onto my computer, which I did, putting an Itunes library on my new coputer with all my music in it, including the songs that I had bought online.
    I am now living in Australia, and my Ipod is registered to my new laptop.  (I had no idea there was a limit to number of computers you could register an Ipod to, and now have no access to the old computers to deregister them.)  I have bought a few things through Itunes library over the past couple of years and wanted to make sure everything in my library was in my Ipod so I synched it last week.... and got a message to say that more than 40 tunes cannot be transferred to my Ipod as they are not authorised to be played on this computer!  It seems that the tunes I bought on the Irish computers will not transfer but the ones I bought on my brother's computer in the UK 2 years ago, have transferred fine.  I am baffled as to why there should be any difference between those bought in Ireland, Uk, or Australia, since they were all bought on my account in my Itunes library.
    I am pretty ****** off as I paid for them in the understanding I would have them for keeps, not realsiing that Itunes may decide I actually can't have ethem, after all!
    Because I have zero technical knowledge, I have no idea what to do about it.  I would really appreciate any help you can offer, but as I said, please keep the language and instructions extremely simple...!!!!!
    Thanksps I don't know what kind of Ipod it is, I am guessing it is the classic, it's about 6 years old and doesn't do anything fancy like the newfangled touchy ones. I am using an Acer laptop with Windows, if that has any bearing on anything!

    I have a similar problem, although not exactly the same. I downloaded two full albums. For each album, there is one song that cannot be copied to my iPod (tried w/ 1GB Nano and with an older Shuffle). In fact, every time I try to copy these songs to an iPod, I hang up not just iTunes, but my entire OS 10.3.9 system. A reboot is required to end the hang and get back to normal.
    These songs are on my computer. They play properly. The only thing is that I cannot copy them to my iPod. Any ideas why not? (All the other songs from the same albums copy without any problem.)

  • Internal software error cpp, line 214 - creating subtitles failed / please help

    it a pretty toutgh expierience trying to create my first dvd with Adobe,
    I have to hand it over this Friday, in some 12 hours,
    and there is another issue I have to cope with:
    1. I have the project ready, I check for errors and there are no.
    2. My project has 2 two timelines (movie and soundtrack) and subtitles in 7 languages. All already transcoded.
    3. I press build DVD.ISO and here comes the wonderful Adobe greeting: Internal software error. File Spec: cpp, line 214. I clik ok and the other window appears happilly informing me that creating subtitles failed. And creating of thesee subtitles was the only reason I started using Adobe Premiere Pro and Encore
    Could you please help me, I am going slightly crazy with it. How can I resolve this issue. I tried to look at the forum, but did not find the solution. Neither @ google.

    I did two timelines, since I wanted to give the possibility to listen to the music track, without watching the movie. No idea if this could be done in one timeline (I am just starting my Adobe adventure .
    Coming to the point, I fixed it. Here is how:
    1. While building DVD the message was: Internal software error. File Spec: cpp, line 214. and creating subtitles failed.
    2. I tried to make really big spaces between subtitles, as well as change the fonts, the kerings, etc. - to no avail.
    3. I deleted all the subtitle text (marking it with the mouse and pressing delete), but leaving all the subtitle tracks, since I did not want to link them all again to the subtitle menu buttons.
    4. For each subtitle track I imported the subtitle text once again.
    And it worked! So simple if one already knows how to do it.
    Thanks for help anyway, you and others at this forum helped me a lot during the whole project (missing Encore library, baddriver.txt to mention the most critical issues).

  • Imovie 10 wont let me share my videos over 3-4 minutes , youtube is ok but when i try a video of about 90  minutes i hit share and after about 10 mins i get the message box "video rendering error: -50 share failed please help!

    I am getting the same problem. Downloaded Maverick and the new iMovie 10.0.1 and It will only upload 10 minutes of a 65 minute video then I get the rendering error 50 each time tried to export to desktop, to thumbdrive, to youtube. No luck.  any suggestions Apple?

  • Creating Business Rules programitically, please help

    I am creating Rules programmatically, I am able to create rules by using AdvancedExpression but I am unable to set the value as "any" because if I use "AdvancedExpression" it creates "Advanced Test" where value is "fixed" and can not be customized,
    this is easily done by Rule author, but programmatically I am not getting it . I have already checked the tutorial "http://download-west.oracle.com/docs/cd/B31017_01/web.1013/b28965/sdk.htm"
    but there is no much info provided.
    please help me how to do this.

  • Activation of transfer Rule not available:  Help Sought

    Hi All,
    I have encountered error in loading data due to
    dataSource not having the same status as the source system in the Business Information Warehouse.  There is a timestamp difference. The recommended solution in HELP was to replicate the datasource again and activate the transfer rules....  I have done the prescribed replication but have not been succesful in activating the transfer rules.  The activate button is disabled.  I tried to delete the transfer rule and assigned it again. But still the activate button is disabled?

    Hi,
    Replicate the datasource first. Then once you are done with that. Run the program RS_TRANSTRU_ACTIVATE_ALL in SE38. You will get a selection screen . Give the Source system name and the infosource name execute. This would activate your transfer rule. We use this in the production enviornment.

  • OS X Yosemite fails: Please help

    I tried to install the new OS X Yosemite from the App store and it fails to get downloaded completely.
    Error:
    The application could not be downloaded.
    An error occurred while running scripts from the package “pdl8741854432473810418.pkg”.
    I tried to download from the website which links me back to the App store and still gives the same error. It downloads smoothly for some time and stops suddenly giving above error. Please help.

    Try using a different network to download it.

    You downloaded the wrong thing.
    You want the J2SE v 1.4.2_09 SDK (not the J2EE or the JRE packages)
    That version isn't the most recent. The most recent is the JDK 5.0 Update 5 (this is a later version of 1.4.2_09 - Sun just made some name changes.)

  • Time Machine Restore Fails PLEASE HELP!!!

    I originally installed Leopard as an Archive and Install. However, I was having performance issues and decided it would be best to make a backup with Time Machine and then bring everything back over with Migration Assistant. Now during the process of backup installation my computer snags up at the end on an iWork 08 file. However, I cant delete the file from my backup disc because of insufficent privlages (the exact error message is something to the effect of "the file cannot be deleted) Now, this wouldnt be a problem to restore everything 1 at a time through time machine prefrences>choose backup dic except for the fact when I try to bring my software back over that came bundled with the computer when I originally bought it. Specificaly im talking about Final Cut Pro HD: it ask for a product key that I dont have. Is there a way to regain admin privelages or a way to delete that particular file. Also, I have found my itunes music library but I cant find where my Movies,RIngtones, TV shows and Podcast are located in the FIle Hierarchy. If I need to manually bring my library over I dont want to lose purchased content. Where are these files located? If anyone can help me with these issues I would GREATLY appreciate it. I know it was dumb to do in the first place but I expected it to work and thus far its to no evail. I have a ton of programs installed that I have no idea where my install cd's are or product keys. PLEASE HELP!!!

    Thank you so much for all the detailed help. I figured out the solution. To delete any file permanently in Time Machine you have to do this. Open up Time Machine Window. Select a backup other than the most recent named "today" (or something like that). Then select the file. In the upper Time Machine Window there is a cog. Select the cog drop down menu and you get some options. Click Delete permanently from all backups. This is the ONLY way other than fudging with the root to permanently delete anything from a time machine backup. Otherwise, you get an error message about how back up items cant be edited (same if you try to drag it in the trash). Then, I had to do what you said and actually use Utility under the Leopard Install Disc instead of Restore from backup within leopard setup or Migration Assistant after setup. This actually erases the current Volume and fully restores the previous volume. Im not sure why that file was holding things up but this seems like the right fix. Now, my fingers are crossed but I think this will fix the problem. Again, thank you so much erik for the help.
    *Note to anyone viewing this thread*
    To restore from a time machine backup use Utility under the Leopard Install Disc and select a Time Machine Backup to restore. NOT Migration Assistant after Install and not the function after the install process where you choose the backup with your name,apps et. ( basically Migration assistant again but in leopard). You must use Utility from the Menu bar after the Leopard install disc restores.
    To PERMANENTLY delete an item from ALL time machine backup-- Within the time Machine application Window select a back up other than the most previous one (why this is I do not know). Highlight the document and in the upper menu bar select the "cog" looking icon. The menu then drops down. Select *DELETE PERMANENTLY FROM ALL BACKUPS*. You cant do it through finder. You cant right click delete. You cant drag it in the trash.
    I hope this thread helps anyone if they have a similar problem.

    Some Background -
    Few months back my company has purchased a project which is developed in VS 2003 and on Framework 1.1 from a third party. This project is installed on user's machine (obviously with Framework 1.1).
    Glitch is here u2013 VS2003
    But now I need to make some amendments in this project, so I installed VS 2003 Enterprise Edition (Setup downloaded from MSDN) and when I open up this project u2013I couldnu2019t open some reports in design mode.
    I get below errors u2013
    Custom Tool Error : "Code generator 'ReportCodeGenerator' failed. Exception stack = CrystalDecisions.CrystalREports.Engine.LoadSAveReportException.Load Report Failed.
    Then I tried to open same report in VS 2005 on Framework 2.0, I can open this report in design mode easily with no errors. In fact I installed Crystal report 9 on my machine and able to open this report in design mode.
    Please could you help me, how to resolve this problem. How to refer Crystal 9 version references in VS 2003.

    Happy, Happy Day! With only the opposite of help from Apple Inc., and in reality thanks to the assistance and encouragement of my BFF IRL and your good self, my grand old MacBook Pro Kallisti has risen from Hades once again, and sprung back to life – and this reply is coming at you from her very own keyboard and net connection.
    My non-Apple replacement battery and a second-hand power adapter from TheBookYard.com in Liverpool arrived on Tuesday, and with the swapping in of an unblown 3A fuse, all is as well again as it was before Apple’s design-flawed A1189 battery killed Kallisti for the second time.
    What I’ve neglected to mention so far is that in early 2014, the screen began to fail intermittently, then with increasing frequency, until only via a DVI-HTML cable to my 50-inch TV could I see what I was doing at all. Yesterday the screen was working again initially, but only for a couple of hours, before failing to black again.
    Seems this is yet another well-known and well-documented fault with all the MacBook Pros that use the NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT graphics processor – see, eg: Apple’s (also prematurely terminated) ‘MacBook Pro: Distorted video or no video issues’ » http://support.apple.com/kb/ts2377 . I’ve a shed load of reading up to do on this issue from all over the web, including what appear to be some possible DIY fixes. I’ll most likely not waste any more time or energy on expecting Apple to take any responsibility for yet another well-known and well-documented fault with their MacBook Pro, since I find their naked contempt policy for Mac owners who fail to buy a shiny new Mac when the old one breaks down to be utterly revolting (not to mention environmentally unethical and unnecessarily destructive).
    Re: you yourself being of the Yanqui petite bourgeois persuasion – on the two occasions I’ve been fortunate enough to visit the USA, I’ve been genuinely impressed by the admirable attributes of the Americans I’ve met and stayed with: heartwarmingly generous with their time and attention, welcoming with an effusive hospitality, helpful, friendly, and compassionate. Yet there’s a world of difference between the esteem in which I can hold individual Americans, and the contempt in which I can hold the ruling class social institutions of any country, including especially the USA and my own, the UK: greed-centric corporations, brutally repressive police forces, mass-killing-focussed foreign policy initiatives, etc., &c.     There’s plenty of free web-based help and advice on reporting dodgy traders like Apple to the Trading Standards authority, and pursuing reparations from such lawbreakers through the small claims track in the civil courts. So now I’ve Kallisti back up-&-running again (albeit with a dead screen), on which to document my anti-Apple legal research, I’m taking my time to ensure I’m following due process, and relishing the irony of developing a suitable regulatory/legal punishment for Apple on the very ‘vintage’ flagship MacBook Pro which their offending policy has all but written off as obsolete. Plus, since it turns out its “Super”drive won’t eject a freshly burned DVD-R, I’ve ordered an Ubuntu 14.04 LTS 32-bit DVD to do a fresh unibooting install on my 2001-design backup PC notebook, to add some non-Apple computer robustness to my resources, until such time as I’ve saved up enough for to buy a purpose-built touch screen Ubuntu 14.04 LTS notebook, such as the System76 Darter UltraTouch (» https://system76.com/laptops/model/daru4 ); and that leaves plenty of time ahead to compare the long-term customer support reputations of potential Ubuntu PC manufacturer companies, to ensure that I don’t get taken for a fool by another Apple-like mobster-type corporation.

Many thanks again, Melophage – with zero support from fellow Mac users, I’d most likely have given up and thrown in the towel some time ago, but you’ve helped me to find the self-motivation to persist in perusing a just solution, despite my beginning this process by being sunk in the depths of an episode of severe clinical depression. I must admit, I’d no idea that contending against Yanqui corporate fascism could be so therapeutic!

  • Indesign Fail: Please help

    I have been trying to download Indesign from the Creative Cloud for a week. It gets to 43% then gives an Installation Failed error message each time. This is the first program I am attempting to download, as I need for a current project. Please advise or offer alternative. I signed up for the CC trial to do this and I am glad I didn't pay for it first, as I haven't been able to download the program needed. My PC has plenty of space, so I know that isn't the problem. Thanks for any help!

  • Transfer not working - please help!!!!!!!!!

    ive been successfully transferring music from my pc to x6.  but i think i fiddled with the time on my phone the other day and now i cant transfer my music!!!  ive reset my pc and phone to read the same time but i still cant transfer what ive downloaded from the music store to my phone.  Bought cds loaded from my pc transfer fine. 
    What have i done and what do i need to do?

    Ok, so now I've fiddled around a bit, both on my own and with the "help" of the Nokia Care support. And things are only getting worse.
    First I updated my phone (which I should have done a long time ago) from 20.x something to 50.x something.
    Secondly, I updated the OVI Suite and OVI Player programs.
    Now I get an error message in OVI Player when attempting to transfer files, saying that one or both of the units (phone and computer) I'm trying to transfer between aren't CMW units. Which they are, obviously.
    OVI Suite is a bit a nightmare trying to work out. The first time I used it, I managed to add my phone. Unfortunately I didn't read the logon page carefully enough the first time - so I ended up creating a new account (I can now login to ovi.com with two user names) and I suspect somehow my phone was connected to the "new" account I made. Been trying to associate my phone number with the old account again, but no luck.
    Then OVI Suite started crashing when I attempted file transfers. So I re-installed, and since then I haven't been able to add my phone to it again.
    If I try copying music (which I've downloaded through the OVI Store between April 2009 and April 2010) using the mass storage option, I'm unable to play it on the phone. It asks me to retrieve a DRM license (nothing strange there) - when I try doing that, the phone tries to access the OVI Music Store and invariably fails.
    The first time I accessed the OVI Music Store (using the app in the phone itself) I was prompted to login - so I did, using my old account (the one I used to download all the music in the first place). That worked fine. But there is no option of entering a download history in the application - something I've seen referred to in various FAQs. The only options I have is to search for music and also to extend or purchase a CMW subscription. Here's another funny thing - if I try that, it says I can't, using this phone, since it's already a registered unit. The opposite of what OVI Player tells me when I try transferring songs?
    I get the feeling a lot of stuff has been messed up here. But basically what I'd like to do is to simply make sure that my phone and my computer are both associated with the same CMW account that they were up until June or July this year.

    I am unable to access the blackberry app world at all. I have downloaded the latest version again from the Blackberry website, and still this 80003 error persists. Each time I try it is the same, suggesting that the 'server' that is supposed to veryfiy or install this item is faulty, offline, or does not exist.
    How do I solve this problem?pease help,

    I have been having the very same problem but to no avail. I have even tried registering my Blackberry ID on the desktop but all user names seems to be in use; even the simplest of simplest.
