Tried to reset my daughters ipod touch 4 now screen is telling me to plug it into itunes what do i do now? its locked up
the screen is locked up with the picture of a plug in to the itunes icon. can anyone help me fix this/

That makes no sense. Are you plugging it into iTunes or not?
...phone still tells my to connect it to iTunes and even if I knew my passcode I still couldn't type it in.
If you even knew your passcode why couldn't you type it in?

I'm trying to reboot my daughters Ipod Touch & it said rebooting, then it said it could not be rebooted & now it won't turn on at all & it was showing a full battery. I tried holding down the home button & the sleep/wake button & it still won't do anything.

My phone will not come on because it says i need to plug it into itunes, so i did and now it will not restore. I have changed the USB cable, used different USB ports and used a different computer however errors still keep happening. Please help.

last thing you can try would be go to settings, general, settings, reset all settings

did you try to put it in DFU mode. You will know if you are in it because instead of a plug into itunes screen, you will just get a black screen http://www.iclarified.com/entry/index.php?enid=1034 If dfu doesn't work you can get out of it buy holding home and power. Take it to apple or geek squad if I'm no help.

I have been on the Apple Support page for several hours now and cannot find my exact circumstance and other suggestions have yet to help me. I purchased a locked ipod touch and when I plug it into my laptop itunes says "Itunes could not connect to ipod because it is locked with a passcode". The guy I bought it from told me the password but I failed to write it down and remember it and he has since moved so I can't find him. I have tried putting it in DFU mode and I can get it there, but then Itunes does not show the pop-up that everyone has said will come up with the alert about an ipod trying to restore itself so I cannot get it to do so. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

AMWhen in DFU mode and connected to the computer iTunes does not say anything but iTunes will see the iPod and you can restore the iPod via iTunes. When in recovery mode and you connect, iTunes will say it found an iPod in recovery mode.

I downloaded a song on my iPod touch using the iTunes access. Now I have my iPod touch connected to my computer and trying to restore it. However, when I click restore it says I have purchases on my iPod that aren't in the library yet. I thought yes, I know. So I went on iTunes to the file tab and clicked the transfer from iPod touch. However, nothing happened. How can I get the purchased song on my iPod onto my computer?
Right click on the iPod in the sources list in iTunes and select the Transfer Purchases option.

Sure appears to be a defective charge or maybe just the cable. Can you try another cable?. Have you tried other chargers? Who made the charger?

If not successful, try DFU mode.

I plugged my Iphone 4S into my computer to update it via Itunes and now it says I have to restore to factory settings and will lose all of my contacts, photos, and applications I have downloaded. All I was really wanted to do was delete photos that uploaded from my home computer and took up all the space on my phone! GRRRR I hate this
If you are using the iphone as designed then you should lose very little or nothing.
You should be syncing contacts with your computer regularly, so all of your contacts should be on your computer and you can sync them back.
You should be importing all pics taken with the iphone to your computer regularly as you would with any digital camera, most especially before any attempt to update.
You should be transferring all purchases made on your iphone to your computer: File>Devices>Transfer Purchases
