Tried to send iMessage from iPod touch (5th generation) but continuously says "contact not registered with iMessage". The contact IS registered with iMessage, but won't send any messages to anyone.

I have an iPod touch 5th generation (7.1.2) that has not been sending iMessages to other iMessage users. At first my iPod would not let me sign in to use iMessage, but I searched on different discussion boards that helped me log in. Now the trouble is not being able to send messages at all. I tried to delete the contact I was trying to message and restart the conversation board, but that didn't help at all. The contact continues to say 'xxxxxx not registered with iMessage" when, in fact, they are. I need help to resolve this issue.

Have you contacted the dock manufacturer?
The adopter supports audio if the dock manufacturer says the dock supports the 5G iPod.
It may be that the dock does not work with iOS 6.x vie the 5G. Sometimes an iOS update will break compatibility.

Hey Sierra, You can do just what you have stated. My question, what is your "other"? If it is over 1.5 GB you most likely have corrupt files. Doing a Restore to New, Factory restore should correct it. Just make sure you make a full backup of all information on your iPod to your computer before you restore, so you don't lose your stuff, contacts, videos, pictures, non-iTunes music, etc, use the cable and connect with your computer. Then, via cable, connect to your computer, run the Restore to new, don't use your backup. Treat this iPod as if it was your first one ever. When restore is done, set up and add what info you wish to install on this iPod. The music apps etc you purchased should be on your computer, if not you should be able to retrieve purchased apps and music from iTunes. Any music, videos, apps not purchased from iTunes will be lost to you if you do not save them to your computer or the cloud first. When your done, make a current Backup and you should good to go. I tried to charge my iPod Touch 5th generation but it died while charging and it was tuning and it said i had to connect to iTunes so i did and i had to restore it to use it and while restoring an error code (9) appered and i can't use it. Plz help

   So I was using my iPod Touch 5th generation and the charger wouldnt charge it and it died then while it was in the process of tuening back on the apple logo dissapeered and it kept on turning on and off so i put it into DFU mode and it said to plug it into itunes to i did and it said i had to restore it to use it but when i tried to restore it it brought up ," Couldnt restore ipod, error code (9) " ..... and i have tried 3 different USB cables and two different computers and USB ports and i have no clue what to do so i would like help from anyone please that would be awesome!!!!

I have an ipod touch 5th generation but have 10.5.8 operating system, what operating system do i need?

My daughter received a 5th Generation iPod touch for Christmas, the newer one with the lightning USB, but when I try to sync it to my Mac, it says that the Operating System isn't up to date. Its 10.5.8. Is my next option the Snow Leopard 10.6 or the Mountain Lion? We're thinking of getting iPhone 5's as well.

A 5th generation iPod and an iPhone 5 need iTunes 11, that needs Mac OS X 10.6.8 or later.
First, see if your Mac is supported > http://support.apple.com/kb/sp575 if it's supported, buy Snow Leopard > http://store.apple.com/us/product/MC573/mac-os-x-106-snow-leopard Then, make a backup, insert the DVD and upgrade.
After upgrading, open  > Software Update to install the most recent version. Maybe you will have to run Software Update again after updating to 10.6.8 in order to install iTunes 11.0.1. After that, you will be able to sync the iPod touch.
If you want, you can upgrade to Mountain Lion > http://www.apple.com/osx/specs If your Mac is supported, open App Store and purchase Mountain Lion. Check if your programs are supported > http://www.roaringapps.com

Hey, I just bought an ipod touch 5th generation, but my lightning usb is not working anymore.

It didn't got wet, neither is phisicaly damaged... the problem is i'm not from the US (where I bought it) so I can't use the warranty.

Is it? okay well today I went to my capital city where there is an Apple Store, and they said the warranty is not international! I'm from Ecuador btw.
