Trinidad Choose Date - unable to search another month/year

JDEV: 11.1.2.4
I have an issue where when i select a month or year other than the default and click search i get the following error:
Error 400 -- Bad Request
10.1.4.400 Bad Request
The request could not be understood by the server due to malformed syntax. The client SHOULD NOT repeat the request without modifications.
The code is as follows:

  Here is the example how to display date/  month and the year by inputting the date only

selectioon screen
parameters:date type sy-datum.
  start of selection
start-of-selection .
CALL FUNCTION 'CONVERSION_EXIT_SDATE_OUTPUT'
EXPORTING
input = date
IMPORTING
OUTPUT = OUTPUT.
write:/ output.
the  output of the program will be  like  :
input :    21.05.2009  (get date from f4 help)
output :  21.MAY.2009
