Hi,
24hour interval ?
Depends on company requirement , 24 hours interval means system shall calculate per diem on travel start time to 24 hours instead of calendar days which means start of trip time and calculate with working days..
No day scaling ?
Day scaling according to method 1 ?
Day scaling according to method 2 ?
following is help
Day Scaling for Reimbursement by Number of Trip Hours
Meals per diems can be scaled according to the number of trip days.
Example:
From the eighth trip day on, a higher meals per diem is to be paid to the traveling employee.
Day scaling of meals per diems is, however, only possible for amounts calculated from view V_T706V. (Valuation of trip duration according to number of hours, see 'Valuation of trip duration')
Day scaling is enabled by setting the 'Number of trip days' field (ANZTA) for reading view V_T706V.
You have the following options:
1. Without day scaling
The 'Number of days' field is set with the total duration of the trip in days.
2. Day scaling according to method 1
To scale reading within the trip, the 'Number of days' field is
set as follows to read view V_T706V:
1           one-day trip
1           several-day trip, first day
2           several-day trip, second day
Trip days-1 several-day trip, next to last day
Trip days   several-day trip, last day
3. Day scaling according to method 2
To scale reading within the trip, the 'Number of days' field is set
as follows to read view V_ T706V:
1           one-day trip
2           several-day trip, first day
2           several-day trip, second day
Trip days-1 several-day trip, next to last day
Trip days   several-day trip, last day
Note:
If no entry is found in view V_T706V to set the number of days, the next higher is searched for.
And could you explain with an eg for While scaling hours in "Scale Per Diems for Meals by Hours", Selection interval start date must be less than to start date of "Define Per Diems for Meals Per Day" (24 Hours)"
For example You have define Define Per Diems for Meals Per Day in which you have given Validity dates..
Amount = USD $100
Valid from 01-01-2010 to 31-12-9999
then you have to set calculation guideline as discussed earlier...
then during scaling , there are two selection interval dates
selection interval dates 01-01-2000 to 31-12-9999
Selection interval dates shall be greater (or equal to ) then Validity dates...
Hope would help you..

  • Daily Allowance - Cloud for Travel

Hi all, sorry if I keep asking questions and hope it also helps to other customers who are deploying the solution.
Do you know if is it possible to calculate the allowance per trip instead of on a daily basis? Let me explain myself, if I have a trip of 2 days to Houston and my daily allowance is USD 100, theoretically I should expend 100 or less each day. But, what if I expend 50 the first day and 150 the second day, the average is 100 and it should be fine.
Is it possible? Is there any available configuration to do it in that way?
    Many thanks and best regards,

    Thanks Angela for the suggestion.
Just minutes ago however, I solved the problem. I went into the Apple store and there was an app updated.  So I ran the update and now all is well.  I'm accessing the expense reports as before.

For cask products we are able to claim a sediment allowance, for the undrinkable bits at the bottom of a cask. So if a product has a volume of 9 Gallons (40.9L) but there is a sediment figure of 0.7L we only pay duty on 40.2L.

  • Pro-Rata Allowance Calculation based on WSR

    Hi,
We need to perform an enhancement for a allowance to be calculated based on their WSR. Could any one please advise what would be the best approach to perform this customisation.
    Following are the details:
A calculation needs to be made based on an employee’s 0007 & 2003 records for a given month to determine what percentage of the planned hours for the month that a person has worked and then apply that percentage to the Monthly Staff Supplementary Allowance applicable for the Work Schedule Grouping.
Example A – Employee on Work Schedule for the Whole Month Employee has a 0007 infotype record that has them on Work Schedule SC112 for the whole of April 2008. System pays 100% of the allocated payment of $166.67 per month
Example B – Employee on Work Schedule for part of the Month, Employee has a 0007 infotype record that has them on Work Schedule SC112 for the part of April 2008 as they only started on 14th April 2008. Planned Hours for April for SC112 are 180 hours and this person has worked 108 hours which is 60% (=108/180). System pays 60% of the allocated payment of $166.67 per month which results in a payment of $100.00 for the employee.
Example C – Employee on Work Schedule for part of the Month Employee has a 2003 infotype record that has them on Work Schedule SC112 for the 14th April 2008. Planned Hours for April for SC112 are 180 hours and this person has worked 12 hours on SC112 which is 6.67% (=12/180). System pays 6.67% of the allocated payment of $166.67 per month which results in a payment of $11.11 for the employee.
Example D – Employee on 2 eligible Work Schedules for the Month Employee has a 0007 record for Work Schedule SC112 from 01.04.2008 to 14.04.2008 and then for SC412 from 15.04.2008 to 31.12.9999. This person has spent 100% of the month in an eligible Work Schedule grouping System pays 100% of the allocated payment of $166.67 per month which results in a payment of $166.67 for the employee.
Example E – Employee on 2 eligible Work Schedules for the Month, Employee has a 0007 record for Work Schedule SC112 from 01.04.2008 to 14.04.2008 and then for SC512 from 15.04.2008 to 31.12.9999. This person has spent 100% of the month in eligible Work Schedule groupings The period on SC112 represents 40% of the hours for SC112 for April 2008, 72 of 180 hours. The System calculates 100% of the allocated payment of $166.67 per month which results in a payment of $66.67 for the employee. The period on SC512 represents 50% of the hours for SC5112 for April 2008, 96 of 192 hours. The System calculates 50% of the allocated payment of $0.00 per month which results in a payment of $0.00 for the employee. Overall this employee receives a Staff Supplementary Allowance of $66.67 for April 2008.

  • Wrong Dearness Allowance Calculation

    Dear Friends,
For Dearness Allowance(wagetype 1009) we maintain the %age of Basic(wagetype 1000) in V_T539J quarterly. Accordingly in Payroll processing it is reflected.
In April 2014, for payroll area X it is calculated correctly,But for another payroll area Y all employee's DA calculation is wrong, It takes neither recent %age of basic
    nor that of previous quarter.
For this month's payroll we did the correction manually in IT0008 by calculating DA= 20.2% of basic . Then there's no meaning of maintaining it in V_T539J. It's very tedious to do it manually.
Need to know why this anomaly rises suddenly ? We don't use any BDC/ DA-report program to update DA in IT0008 rather from V_T539J only it is calculated.

  • Petrol Allowance Calculation

    Hi ,
Client requires Petrol Allowance to be calculated as follows
For some group employees Petrol Allowance is given as Rs 1.25 per kilometer??
For the rest it is given in the range of Rs 1 - Rs 5,000/-...
How to configure this ?Do we need to make any changes in the wage type characterisitics? From which WT to  copy??
    please reply urgently
    hr-user

    Hi,
1-revert back your settings as earlier in system
2-create a new dedn WT for allowance with settings to reduce that amount from gross earnings and dont include this for posting(This is because you have already adjusted the amount in posting thru manual entry so no need of posting again and also the extra amount is in payroll right,so to nullify effect in payroll you have to do this way)
3-the extra amount will get reduced from payroll in Nov and no posting will be done,as in payroll his gross earnings have increased by 500(apply only to that cadre of employees)
One more thing apprise your employees of the issue so they understand it well and dont complain
    try this way

  • Allowing calculated values to be overwritten, but then not recalculated

    Hi,
I'm a bit new to HFM and rules, so I'm looking for some advice on how best to set up HFM to meet one of our business requirements.
We have a need to show a certain part of our P&L for December as Opening WIP numbers for the following year. What I am thinking of doing currently is creating a new scenario called Opening WIP and using a rule to set the values of this new scenario to be calculated from the December P&L. However, different parts of our business may want to adjust these numbers, so I would need to provide a web form through which they can overwrite the numbers derived from the prior year. However, I am concerned that because a calculate rule will exist, when consolidations are run the manually adjusted numbers will simply be replaced by calcualted numbers.
Can anyone shed some light on what the best practice approach to this might be?
    Thanks,
    Vincent

    Hi,
You can use one custom dimension as an audit dimension. To be specific, the members of this dimension will be the different sources of the data like general ledger, manual input, other adjustment. So you will be able to copy the data to one specific member and then ask your users to make adjustments in other members.
    good luck

    Hi Manoj,
Suppose ABCD is the wagetype for xyz allowance. I hope you are getting this 1000 amount from T510.
This is the logic of PCR for your requirement.
    ABCD
      NUM=TKAU**        --> Getting Unpaid Absences (Suppose 2)
      RTE=KCONS2        --> Maintain CONS2 constant in T511K Table with 200
MULTI NRA            --> Multiplying No.of Absences with 200.. that is 400
ADDWT &BUFF     --> Saving that in one Variable
FILFF NRA            --> Restoring Actual values
AMT- &BUFF        --> Subtracting from 1000 and you will get the 600
      AMT?0
         ADDWT *
       <
AMT=0             --> if amount is less than 0 then amount will bocome 0
    Hope this helps.

  • How do we calculate a loan with daily compoundable interest?

I suppose this might not be strictly a Microsoft Excel subject.  Nevertheless I am helping a friend who is using Excel to store the downloaded data from the bank and trying to calculate the daily balance.  Repayment and withdrawal can be done any
    day.
I have figured out a formula as follows but the calculations from the formula doesn't seem to tally with the figures I got from the bank.  I love to hear opinions from anyone who is interested.  There is not always a transaction, i.e. withdrawal
or repayment, every day.  It also takes into account of possible difference of interest rate between two consecutive days.
The formula is owing = (P(1+I/365)^(today date - date of previous transaction) - credit + debit)(1 + I/365) where P is principal and I interest.
    G96=(F95*(1+I95/365)^(A96-A95)-D96+C96)*(1+I96/365)
Below is how I try the formula to some data of years ago.

Refer to the file "example modified.xlsx" (click here) [1].  This demonstrates two methods for calculating interest on loans based on the following.
As I noted previously, since you are unable to provide actual bank data that includes interest, there is no way to validate or invalidate the demonstrated methods.  They only serve to clarify the points that I make below.
If loan interest is computed and compounded daily (which would be unusual, IMHO), your formula is almost correct.
One problem is the reference to F95, as I said before.  The correct way to do this is to copy the outstanding balance from a bank statement one time into G2.
The other problem is:  you are double-accounting some interest.  Interest is usually computed based on the account balance at the end of the business day.  All intraday transactions, debits and credits, are netted.
However, it is more common (AFAIK) to charge simple interest on the daily balance or to use an average daily balance for the billing period.
Then a minimum payment -- perhaps interest-only -- is billed at the end of the period.  If the minimum payment is not paid within some grace period (e.g. 15 days),
only then, if at all, is the unpaid interest (and perhaps a penalty) added to the principal, resulting in compounded interest.
Alternatively, even then unpaid interest and penalties are not added to principal and do not compound.  Instead, unpaid interest and penalties might accumulate separately, eventually resulting in closing the account and collecting or writing off the
    bad debt.
    healee wrote:
    According to
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nominal_interest_rate, in finance and economics, nominal interest rate or nominal rate of interest refers to the rate of interest before adjustment for inflation (in contrast with the real interest rate).
    And the sentence continues:  ``or,
for interest rates "as stated" without adjustment for the full effect of compounding``.
That is the context in which I meant my comments to be taken.
The wiki article is divided into two very different sections:  "Nominal versus real interest" and "Nominal versus effective interest rate".
It is the latter that we are talking about.
(If I were a wiki editor, I would spit that article into two in order to "disambiguate" the definitions.)
    healee wrote:
I have supposed somebody must know how the banks work in terms of calculating the principal and interest though they might vary with regions.  Is it possible the method could very with banks in the same jurisdiction?
In my experience, bank employees do not understand the mathematical mechanics of the bank's procedures except in general terms.  In any case, generally they are not a reliable source of information.
In the US, banks and lenders are required to provide a "disclosure statement" which does detail some bank procedures.
AFAIK, even in the US, such statements are not
required to explain how interest is calculated.  But the ones that I have studied do.
And yes:  in the US, two banks in the same city block can use different procedures for charging interest on loans.
I believe that banks and lenders are only required to use "reasonable" methods for computing actual interest.
In any case, I do not know anything about Australia banking regulations.  They may be more or less strict.
    Healee wrote:
When you say Australia interest rates are reported as a nominal (simple) rate, do you mean they are not calculated as compound interest rates?
No.  How rates are reported can be different from how rates are applied to compute actual interest.  At least, in general.  Again, Australia regulations might dictate something different.
Moreover, my inference that Australia loan rates are reported as nominal (simple) rates is not dispositive.  It is just suggestive.
The importance is how we should "de-annualize" a stated interest rate; that is, compute a sub-annual periodic rate.
But again, how that periodic rate is applied can be something different altogether.
    healee wrote:
in fact every rate is compounded.  The difference is only when it is compounded.  If it is compounded weekly for argument's sake, then the interest is calculated at a simple rate daily but calculated at a compound rate at the end
    of the weekly cycle.
That might apply to savings interest.  But we are talking about loan interest (or a line of credit) here.
Usually, loan interest charged in a billing period is expected to be paid in full.  So normally, loan interest does not compound from one billing period to another.  (What a bank does with unpaid debt varies widely.)
But that does not tell us how a lender computes intra-period interest.  It can be compounded (typically daily), or it can accrue separately as simple interest.
Some countries might regulate those details.  Others might allow it to vary from bank to bank.
[EDIT] PS:  Another factor that I forgot to mention:  rounding.  Whether or not to round interest and when, especially daily interest, is up to the lender and/or government policies.  I purposely do not round interest calculations.
But I have seen it done both ways in the US.  I would not sweat the detail until we have some real data to compare to.

  • Calculation of Depreciation for Tax for India

    Hi
In India, there is a requirement that the Depreciation for Income Tax should be calculated based on the date of Acquisition. If an asset has been acquired before or on completion of 180 days of a Financial Year, than the calculation of Depreciation is allowed for full year. If the asset has been acquired after 180 days , depreciation is allowed only for 180 days. Hence for an asset acquired on 25/09/2009, system should allow calculation of depreciation from 01/04/2009, assuming that the fiscal year starts from 01/04/2009 and ends on 31/03/2009. However, if the asset is acquired on 07/10/2009, the system should allow depreciation from 01/10/2009. Sap has delivered standard depreciation keys for the same in reference chart of depreciation for India 0IN.
But if the asset has been acquired on 01/10/2009, still the asset has to be depreciated from 01/04/2009, since the asset has been acquired for less than 180 days into the fiscal year. The system is working fine for asset capitalized on 25/09/2009 and 07/10/2009. But we are not able to map the same if asset is capitalized on 01/10/2009 and 02/10/2009. For these two dates, the depreciation should start from 01/04/2009.
I have checked the period control setting and calender assignments and everything seems to be in place. How can we tackle the issue?
    Regards
    Sanil K Bhandari

    Hi
The same has been resolved.I Created a new assignment in Period Control IT for my fiscal year variant. For month 10, i added a new line item with no of days as 2 in addition to no of days as 31 for month 10.
