Trouble getting connected to AOL

I had difficulty getting connected to AOL after installing my WRT54GS wireless router, Internet Explorer worked fine. I learned my telephone company DSL router/ modem had a firewall and so did the Linksys. I disabled the Linksys firewall and things are great.

Trouble getting connected to BT

We've recently moved into a new home. Our BT phone and broadband activation date has come and gone, yet we still have no dial tone or indeed any other services from BT.
We got a text from BT telling us to call into the fault department if it's not activated. Phoning the BT help lines from another phone (150 and 151) results in either:
(a) getting through to someone with bad english who clearly has no idea what is going on depite me explaining it clearly and calmly (this has happened about 5 times),
(b) getting through to someone who does seem to understand but who gets cut off before we get to the bit where they tell me what's wrong,
(c) going round in circles pressing 1, 2, 3, etc in the nightmare BT customer service phone system,
(d) someone telling me that I don't have an account with BT on the new number which we have been given (but which has not yet worked), thanks and goodbye, or
(e) someone telling me that it'll be connected today (which hasn't been true the last two times I've been told).
All I really would like is an honest appraisal of when we could expect service. We booked this almost a month ago. We've got a new baby in the house and we really need a phone and the broadband service. The BT website helpfully tells me that I'll be kept in touch, but I honestly have no idea what's wrong or when it might be resolved.
How do I get some meaningful help with this from someone who has a modicum of common sense??!!

Trouble getting Connected

After I wake from sleep I don't have any internet what so ever. I have full bars and I'm on my wireless network. But if I connect to a different wireless network and reconnect to my network, reinstall my WPA Key the internet seems to work, what gives. It used to work fine but now it doesn't.

I have the same problem, and will try to see if your solution helps. I don't understand what causes this issue, but it does seem to be related to keychain things. The only way I get mine to work when it goes down is to open the airport setup utility, try to connect to a nearby network with no encryption (the connection fails) and then connect to mine. It'll ask me for the password, and then my base station will show up in the scan. (where before, I was apparently connected to the internet through no base station at all...)

The Apple IDs from @mac.com and @me.com (Older MobileMe and more recent iCloud Names) are also Valid AIM Screen names.
Any other sort of Apple ID is not a Valid AIM Name.
A Google ID that is associated with Google Mail Account (And has "Talk" enable on your Google Settings) can be used in iChat as Jabber Name/ID. (Google Run Jabber server).
Jabber and AIM are different IM Services and it is not easy or straight forward to add Buddies from one Service to the Buddy List of another. (As A Starting point consider it "impossible")
iChat 4 and 5 have links to the registration page of @Mac.com here with a "Get an iChat Account" button in the add (Account) screen (You select @mac.com or MobileMe and then press the Button - Choosing AIM and then pressing the button used to lead to the AIM registration page but AIM moved their page).
Apple IDs can be any valid email (or an @mac.com or iCloud registration)
Therefore you could make a Google ID into an Apple ID.
However this will not be a valid AIM Screen Name the way @mac.com or MobileMe/iCloud ones are.

Hi Christina, belated welcome to Apple Discussions if nobody said it already.
I've had some experiences with these new flash memory recording camcorders, and I'll give you a quick rundown of what I've learned. Many of them (JVC, Panasonic, etc.) tend to record in a .MOD file format, which is non-standard, proprietary, and unrecognizable by most software. I thought Canon was usually a little more standards-compliant, but it appears they also use this .MOD format in your specific camera model. There are likely a couple ways we can get around this though!
In order to play the files, you will likely need to change their file format (.MOD) to .AVI manually. You'll have to locate the files on your Mac, and then manually change the file names so that the file extension (after the period) is .AVI
At that point, a video player application such as http://www.videolan.org/vlc/download-macosx.html>VLC should play the files fine!
You should be able to transfer new video files from the camera to the Macbook Pro with no problems as well. Just plug in the camera to the computer via USB, and also make sure the camera is plugged in to charge. Once it's plugged in, open iMovie (came with the MBP, in the Applications folder) and the MBP should take care of the rest.

Each router is a little different but here are the basics: login to the router using the administrator account, should have that info from the installer, and then you should find something like security settings, or it may be advanced security. There will be a setting to the effect of limiting access, or it may say allow Mac address authentication, or admit the Mac addresses in the table...if that is switched on, you can just switch it off and that will allow any wireless device to attach. If you want to keep it on, then you have to enter the Mac address for the device you want to use for access. In the case of the iPad, go to Settings > General > About > WiFi Address (another way of saying Mac address). Enter that very long sequence in the router's Mac address acceptance table and that should take care of things.
Using the Mac address does not change any of the email settings, just limits attaching to the router in the first place.
If you are already getting email, you must be attaching already so this should not be an issue. If you are having email issues, such as receive but not send, you may not have the outgoing server set correctly: Settings > Mail > Account > Outgoing server name (usually an SMTP server) and you may have to go to the advanced settings to enter the outgoing password (normally the same as the account/incoming password) and then check to see if SSL is ON or OFF...most common email services say to set to OFF.

We get the internet via cable company and their modem is upstairs and the Time Capsule is downstairs in the basement. The latest error message was about it could not backup as it was already in use (should have written it down before clicking OK and moving on.

In Firefox 3.6.4 and later the default connection settings have been changed to "Use the system proxy settings". 
See "Firefox connection settings" in [[Server not found]]
You can find the connection settings in "Tools > Options > Advanced : Network : Connection" 
If you do not need to use a proxy to connect to internet then select No Proxy

You should be able to uninstall that AOL toolbar extension while running in the Firefox SafeMode.

Trouble getting 1130AG LWAPP to Connect to Controller

I'm having trouble getting any of my 1130AG LWAPPs to connect to my WLC.
I have not configured my DHCP server to deliver option 43 or option 60.
However, I have manually configured the LWAPP using the CLI. I have assigned a static IP address, the default-gateway, gave it a hostname, and gave it the controller ip address.
When I issue the command:
show lwapp ip config
all of the information appears correctly.
However, the controller never registers the LWAPP.
This is a completely new setup, so there are no previous configs to contend with.
If I issue the command on the LWAPP:
debug lwapp client event
Two debug messages appear consistently every 3-5 seconds. They are:
*Mar 1 00:34:26.733: LWAPP_CLIENT_EVENT: spamResolveStaticGateway - gateway found
*Mar 1 00:34:36.733: LWAPP_CLIENT_EVENT: spamHandleDiscoveryTimer: Could not discover any MWAR

You have to put option 43 in hexadecimal no. below you will find an example of DHCP configurations on router that act as a DHCP for LWAPP in different network:
ip dhcp excluded-address 172.16.1.1 192.168.1.1

option 43 hex f104c0a814f0
The hex string is assembled by concatenating the TLV values shown below:
Type + Length + Value
Type is always f1(hex). Length is the number of controller management IP addresses times 4 in hex. Value is the IP address of the controller listed sequentially in hex.
WLC IP is 192.168.20.240 f1+1*4+ac10.14f0 = f104c0a814f0
default-router 192.168.1.1

I deleted cookies and now I cannot get into my aol mailbox from either my bookmarks or from the aol website. It says it is having trouble authenticating. Solution?

I deleted some aol cookies and tried to get to my aol mailbox and could not. I then reset to allow cookies and went to the website to get into the mail with no luck. I was however able to get in from my old desktop aol icon.

Many online logins do not use the Keychain, but only Cookies, or possibly Auto Fill.
Open Safari>Preferences>Autofill, is Usernames & PW checked?
Then in the Security tab, what are the Accept Cookies setting? (Oh just saw in the server post you have that set OK).
On the Apple ID thing, that generally happens if there are failed attempts to login, Log Out of Apple & try iForgot...
