Trouble having number ported

Hi there.
Originally signed up to BT back at the start of October, coming from Virgin Media - Phone and Broadband.
The original installer (contractor) installed the line only, not very well at that.  There was no dial tone until the next engineer came out (proper BT) and installed the Infinity Broadband.  At which point the number was appearing on outgoing calls, but was not getting any incoming calls with the phone ringing through to Virgin voicemail still.
I called BT regarding this who sent out a further engineer.  This time he made a call and left saying it would be sorted by "the end of today". This never happened and they called me back on Thursday saying there had been a problem porting the number and it would be fixed by Monday.
We are now on Monday and are no further forward with this issue.  Does anyone have any idea where to go from here as it is driving me up the wall having to use my mobile constantly.
Thanks to all in advance.
Scott

Quick update to this,
Had a further engineer out today.  Same again, made a call to the number porting department who said they would have it sorted by the end of today.
Guess it's a waiting game now.
Fingers crossed

  • Number porting/transfer nightmare from Virgin to B...

    Hi Y'all,
I hope someone can help me here.  I joined BT in December and at the time requested my old number be ported over from Virign Media.  My broadband and TV came live around 12th Dec, but no number port, instead I got the BT line with a new number.  I kept recieving emails from BT saying my number transfer was 22nd Dec, 4th Jan, 12th Jan then finallay 22nd Jan.  When I rang up Virign on 12th Jan they said BT had not requested the transfer.  I contacted BT again, and after explaining exactly what I want again (it wasn't for the first time) they tried again.
On the 16th Jan I rang Virigin and they said they have now released my number to BT following a request on the 12th.
I rang BT again to see what was happening and I they said the number porting team would ring me back.  I missed the call and the asnwer phone message said categorically that the "number was unavaible to BT and I would not be able to get it, therefore the order was going to be cancelled".  So I rang back again to find out what was going in.  ANyway long stroy slightly less long, yesterday (19th) I received a text from BT saying:
"Unfortuantley we are unable to provide you with the number 0117******* as the number has been made inactive by your previous service provider".
Has anyone else come across this and can offer any assistance?
    B

I am desparate for some help with a problem I am having getting my old number working in my new premises. I contacted BT 4 weeks before my move to organise services of 2 telephone lines with both numbers from my old address which had been Virgin numbers for 7 years and BT numbers for at least 25 years before that. I have been told that Virgin have released one of the numbers that I need and that it is now registered to my name.
I work from home and it is very important to keep my old numbers, which I was told would not be a problem.
I have only 1 line working at the moment and even with that line BT cannot seem to get my old number connected. It has been 9 days since my line was installed. Firstly they said there was a problem with an order being cancelled, then an equipment fault, now my old number is on an inactive line (whatever that means), but apparently it means that they cannot divert my calls or put a recorded message on it. For the last three days they have been saying that the offline team are working on it and it will be 3 to 5 days, but they are still saying 3 to 5 days, 2 days later. To confuse matters even more they have changed the original number that I was given on 3/6/2013 and when I tell them the new number, they call me Mrs White (which I am not) and say they have no record on their system of me having that number.
Every time I ring to see what is going on, I have to go through the whole story again with someone new and I am getting nowhere fast. Any ideas how I can get some help sorting this out?

  • Number porting nightmare

Hi, I moved from an area that was covered by Virgin Media to a BT area where Infinity was available. When I contacted BT I was assured that the move over should all be fine, they would handle porting the number (house is only a couple of miles away and same area code).. so I placed the order in November 2012
Once I placed the order and waited a bit, I got the installation schedule date, which was now end of December (after having been told it should take a couple of weeks).. I work from home, so internet is important
I complained about the installation date, wanted to know what the delay was and was seriously considering switching back to bog standard ADSL in return for a faster install, the new house had a BT line installed already but not active. I was told that the number porting was holding up the line activation, so they could activate a line under a new number and bring forward the installation date, which they did and I got Infinity about a week before Christmas.
I then asked about the number port, as I had been given a temporary number. I was told I would need to wait as to get my Infinity through faster, they had raised a concurrent order, and my original one needed to be marked as complete on the system for them to have a line with activated status to complete the number port...
so far ok..ish (expect for the many many hours on the phone etc)
Then my infinity order (this is the fictitious one that needed to complete in the workflow system) had the date moved into mid Jan (I had asked to terminate my Virgin account end of December).. so when they tried to port the number, as the line was no longer active, it failed.
I should point out at this stage there appears to be zero proactive response from BT to any failures, they wait for you to complain.. they don’t tell you.
So I then had to contact virgin media, ask them to activate the line again (even though I now live in a new house). After lots of calls, they obliged and activated the number at the exchange end only, for which I now have to pay line rental
I called BT again letting them know the number is now active and can they please port, and given the issues can they please hand over to the escalation team to monitor its progress.. no problem sir, don’t worry about a thing I am told
Wait over a week, still the old number, numerous calls again, get passed through to openreach porting team who clearly think I must be an engineer, as they tell me it’s an error code 41, contact LCP. I explained that some deciphering would be needed, turns out they say, that virgin media need to have my new postcode (they have my postcode for where the line is registered obviously).
I have now also provided VM with my new postcode,
My question is, who should I speak to get the customer support/escalations team to monitor this, as I am really sick and tired of calling call centres for hours, where often it is very hard to both hear them, or to have a conversation that doesn’t follow a script?? Sorry for the rant, but am quite fed up

  • IDoc receiver AEE: Error "Configuration for Sender/Receiver Partner Number/Port is incorrect"

    Hi all,
We are on PI 7.4 AEX SP 7. We are trying to get the following scenario working: Inhouse warehouse management system (JMS) --> PI --> ECC (IDoc)
Sender is configured as 3rd party technical system system with business system maintained in SLD
business system has logical system assigned in SLD
adapter specific identifiers show logical system in ID / NWDS
logical system is defined in receiver (ECC system)
partner profile is created in ecc for this very logical system (inbound parameters)
No mapping of EDI_DC40 node in ESB (complete node disabled)
no header mapping in ID / NWDS
receiver IDoc AEE adapter is configured to not enforce control record (Control Record in IDoc XML = Not Mandatory)
no Identifiers specified in receiver IDoc AEE adapter
My guts feeling is that this should work, however, it doesnt't. Failing with "The Configuration for Sender/Receiver Partner Number/Port is incorrect. Enter proper values in Sender/Receiver Component"
    Any thoughts are highly welcome.
    Cheers
    Jens

    Hi,
The error mentioned by you is not related to the port..but its related to the Application ...
IDoc 51 means idoc has been received in R/3 client and when it tries to process it ended in error..
Check with the functional consultant for the error you have received..

  • How long does the number porting process take?

Hello Everybody! I just got my iphone (witch I LOVE it by the way) but I was wondering, how long does the number porting process take?
I ported my phone number over from SprintPCS last night at around 7pm EST and right now it's 8am EST and my Palm seems to still be working... Is this normal?
I'm still receiving incoming calls to my Palm, Text messages to my Palm, but yet I can do outgoing calls from my iphone... I'm kinda confused...
I mean I received the text on my iphone from sprint telling me: "Welcome to AT&T" as well as receiving the e-mail saying my new phone number is the same one I've had for 6 years now... Is 13 hours considered normal?
    Thanx! :-D

    QueenYvette,
If it continues to be an issue tomorrow, I would recomend calling again, and getting in contact with AT&T's porting department. They are familiar with resolving any issues that may arise.
Powering off both phones is to make sure that the old phone is not maintaining an active connection with the old carrier that can interfere with the last steps of the porting process. If at all possible its a good idea to leave the old phone powered off, and restart the new phone about once an hour so that it will resync with the towers.
    Hope this helps,
    Nathan C.

  • Number ported out from Google Voice to Verizon not working

I am a new Verizon Wireless customer and I ported my number from Google Voice to Verizon. (number ending in 8466). However, Verizon keeps saying that they are waiting on Google while Google says they have released the number.
    Message from Google:
Google Voice has successfully approved your request, but the carrier to whom you are porting hasn't completed their necessary action. If you are still having issues and your number doesn't successfully port in 2-3 business days, please contact your new carrier for support, as Google Voice is unable to take any additional action.
    Message from Verizon:
Your port request has been submitted, but no response has been received. We expect your port request will be completed within 10 business days.
So obviously there's something wrong here. According to Google they cannot do anything since they have released the number so now it's all on Verizon. I am hoping someone from Verizon can look into this ASAP and escalate if necessary. It's really annoying because at this point I'm not receiving any inbound calls or text messages. I can only make outbound calls and send SMS messages. I understand there is an X number of business days I need to wait but at this point I am paying for a service that I cannot use and no one is able to reach me.
Has anyone experienced a similar issue?

Thanks sprmankalel but I've already done that. That's where I got the message "Your port request has been submitted, but no response has been received. We expect your port request will be completed within 10 business days."
And when I check on Google Voice's end "Google Voice has successfully approved your request, but the carrier to whom you are porting hasn't completed their necessary action"
    Interesting huh?

  • Number port FiOS Digital Voice to Ooma

So, I've been trying to port my two lines from Verizon to Ooma for a few months now and finally at what I hope to be the last hurdle on completing it.  The problem is that the port of the second number is being denied.  I was provided the explanation, "The phone number is working, but the local service provider (LSP) doesn't have the phone number in an assigned status therefore we are not able to port out.  Please have [End-User] reach out to the LSP and get the phone number in the correct status so we can port."  I believe this is from the third party which serves as intermediary in the whole porting process as the text was quoted in Ooma's email to me.
I contacted Verizon and, as it turns out was forwarded to sale, they confirmed that there was no block on that number and guided me to contact the other company for resolution.  Well, considering that the problem is being encountered by the third party Ooma cannot do anything to resolve the issue as they can only resolve issues in transitioning the number from the intermediary party to them, not from Verizon to the intermidiary party.
I had issues porting from Vonage to Verizon previously and in the end it turned out to be Verizon's employees were jumping to conclusions that the port didn't go through, even though it had, and canceling everything out and sending it all back to Vonage without contacting me directly.   Finally, one of them got a clue and called me and I was able to confirm all was good and they just needed to finalize it.  So this wouldn't be the first time I've experienced porting issues attributable to Verizon....just hoping it to get it resolved in less than 8 months or so.
So, has anyone run into this issue before?  If so, who do I need to speek to at Verizon that will have any clue about what the problem is and how to resolve it?

On a follow-up call to Verizon I was again forwarded to sales and spoke to a Mr. Patterson. After some discussion and him putting me on hold a few times he explained that since I am not looking to order services he cannot write a work order for my issue, similarly he noted that win-back was not an option since I was taking business away and finally he said there was a department that could be of assistance; however, there was no method for putting me in contact with that department and guided me to direct Ooma to direct the intermediary party to contact Verizon's National Markets Center. He also noted that part of the problem is that one, or more, of the departments does not want to work with me because I am taking my business elsewhere. If there is any truth to this Verizon needs to address it internally as such unprofessional behavior only furthers the already negative experiences I have sure in doing business with Verizon and ultimately will result in me taking my business elsewhere. Granted one customer is small beans, but if one customer has such experiences others most likely are having similar experiences which would compound over time.

  • Phone number ported in error; can't access e-mails

I bought a new cell phone and requested that my cell number be ported.  Instead of porting the cell number, our Verizon land line was ported in error.  Shortly thereafter, our account was canceled, and our access to Verizon e-mail was terminated.  Numerous calls to Verizon have been in vain.  Any suggestions on how I can impress the importance of getting our e-mail account returned to us?  My wife still has her Verizon cell phone, and Verizon has told me that they will re-port the number back to our home later this week.  Will our e-mail accounts return?

  • Service Number/Port Number in HTTP receiver adapter

    Dear Experts,
I have a scenario where I am to do HTTP Post to a 3rd party web application via a url in the following format:
    https://x.y.info/abc/sap/customer.cgi
The HTTP Post data is submitted to the CGI script which is then processed further by the web application. The URL works ok via IE or even PI soap receiver adapter is able to post XML message to the URL but using SOAP.
But I have to do only HTTP Post and now my problem is that the URL dont have a so called port number that I can fill in the "Service Number" field in HTTP receiver channel or in SM59.
Does SAP always need a service number or how to deal with this case where server doesnot expose the port.
    Thanks in advance.
    Br
    Suman

    Hello,
The HTTP Post data is submitted to the CGI script which is then processed further by the web application. The URL works ok via IE or even PI soap receiver adapter is able to post XML message to the URL but using SOAP.
By definition, the SOAP Adapter is also using HTTP POST as its HTTP method the only difference is that there is a SOAP Envelope that is being sent.
But I have to do only HTTP Post and now my problem is that the URL dont have a so called port number that I can fill in the "Service Number" field in HTTP receiver channel or in SM59.
Service number is the port number of the URL that you will be connecting to, if it is not shown, it is assumed that it is 80 for http and 443 for https (as Gzegorz mentioned). Since you are using HTTPs, you should use HTTP Destination that points to an SM59 configuration.
    Hope this helps,
    Mark

  • Another number port error

I just received an email stating the following:
"We're sorry. The phone number you entered is not eligible to be transferred.
Please re-connect to iTunes and don't select to transfer your existing number to complete your iPhone activation. "
When I connect to iTunes, I get this:
"Your activation requires additional time to complete."
When I call service, I get this:
"Uh... wait another 24 hours, make a new account without porting your number and then call us and we'll see if we can port your number afterwards."
    Which is unacceptable.
    What is going on here?

Have you tried to just activate the phone WITHOUT porting?
This is what I did today, and started a thread about it.
Just make a new line of service, get a new number, put call forwarding on your phone, call back ina couple days and arrange a port after activation. AT&T states this can be done, and this is how some people are temp solving this issue.

  • Trouble having headset mic work on GarageBand

I am having trouble getting the mic to work on my headset on GarageBand. It's a Cyber Acoustic AC-201 (most likely - I am unsure since I bought them way before I got my MacBook). • Having trouble having both an interactive form and an interactive page curl in a pdf?

Okay, so I need an interactive pdf with a page curl AND an interactive form. I exported my Indesign file as a swf file with the interactive page curl, (which the interactive form doesn't work on), then I imported the swf file back into Indesign, opened the media tab and chose the option to 'open file on current page' so that when I open the pdf it doesn't ask me to activate the file before use, and then export as an interactive pdf. the interactive page curl works perfectly, but the form doesn't work. How do I put an Indesign form into my interactive pdf?

    Hi Enrico,
If I understand correctly, you are calling the addInstance() on click of the button that you placed in your form and when you add more pages using this button and save the fikle and open it again, the newly added instances are not displayed in the form. Am I right?
If this is the scenario, the you need to store the value of the forms created using this button and call the same addInstance() method in the initialize event of your form. I.e place the same code that is there in click event of the button inside the Initialize event of the form with the number that we have saved in some hidden field.
    Hope this resolves your issue.
    Cheers,
    Arafat
