Trouble installing content files on Mac

I am installing CS5.5 Master for the first time and downloaded all of the additional content files for Premier, Aftereffects, InDesign and Illustrator.
When I open the .dmg file, there is not installation file (with the exception of AfterEffects, which has an install file). All I am given is a language folder, which leads to "goodies" folder, which leads to some fonts.
I'm at a loss of how to install this additional content.
Any help would be appreciated.

Hi oramr,
Were you able to install all the software correctly? I am not sure if this is what concerns you, but I got some information from this doc Install Adobe Creative Suite 5
"Note: Discs labeled "Content" contain optional, nonessential files that are not required to install the product. For example, a Content disc can contain ReadMe files, tutorials, or example files. You can install this content manually by copying it to your hard drive when you want to access the material. Most content can be copied to a location of your choosing. For instructions on installing fonts, see one of the following documents:

Who knows is it possible do install exe files on mac? is there any convertor program, etc ???

What you've been told is roughly right, except that, even if you had the source code, it would not necessarily be possible to compile it under Mac OS X.
There is, however, a rare special case. That is when the .exe application is actually a self-expanding Zip archive; ie, a compressed archive to which the code necessary to expand it has been added. The code itself would not run under Mac OS X, of course, but you could extract the content of the archive by using an application such as Zipeg, or after changing the filename extension to .zip.

  • Luupgrade to install new OS uses corrupted /var/sadm/install/contents file

The /var/sadm/install/contents file on a system got corrupted, big time. I figure my best course of action is to reinstall the OS, because the server is currently out of service, waiting to be deployed to a new application.
Because I'm still learning about luupgrade, I decided to use that route to re-install Soloris9. I have done the following:
    metadetach d0 d20
    metadetach d3 d23
    metaclear d20 d23
    lucreate -A 'Solaris9' -n 'Solaris9' -m /:/dev/dsk/c1t1d0s0:ufs,preserve -m /var:/dev/dsk/c1t1d0s3:ufs,preserve
    then,
    luupgrade -u -n Solaris9 -s /cdrom/cdrom0/s0
This ran fine, almost... Output from luupgrade included a notice that 19 packages failed to install properly. I found the list of the 19 packages, and the output from their pkgadd. These messages indicated that there were problems with the /var/sadm/install/contents file, preventing these from being added.
Is it possible to run luupgrade to install a brand new OS, without using the current/active BE's 'contents' file, but still using other system configuration info like vfstab, dfstab, passwd, shadow, ...
    Thanks in advance for help.

Your friend with a Mac first downloads it onto his Mac using your Apple ID. Then for Mavericks, see the following for creating a bootable installer on a flash drive.
    http://www.macworld.com/article/2056561/how-to-make-a-bootable-mavericks-install -drive.html
Scroll down to the section  Create the Mavericks install drive: The options
For Yosemite, 10.10, I don't know if anyone knows yet how to make a bootable flash installer for that. When it's released I'm sure there will be ways of doing that published in the usual places.
And if you want to get 10.10, I would strongly suggest not getting it right away. You should wait for at least several point updates until most of the very well known bugs are gone.

  • Trouble installing CS6 on my mac

Im having trouble installing CS6 onto my mac. I have tried each way a few times and it isnt downloading, it might get to half way and then it stops. Any ideas?

What Mac? What version of OSX? What are the specific errors. And clarify whether you actualyl alrteady have successfully downloaded and get stuck on installing or if it's the otehr way around. That false intermingling of terminology is really not helping.

  • Having trouble installing Photoshop & Illustrator on Mac OSX 10.7.4

Hello Im having trouble installing Photoshop CS6 and Illustator CS6. I am geting the following errow while trying to install in Creative Cloud Download Manager:
    Exit Code: 34
    -------------------------------------- Summary --------------------------------------
    - 1 fatal error(s), 0 error(s), 0 warning(s)

What should I do? I've installed them before, but uninstalled them both. Now I am getting the following error. Thanks! Any help will be appreciated.

It is difficult to determine the point of failure from your install log summary.  I would recommend reviewing the install logs in their entirety to locate the exact error.  You can find details on how to accompplish this at Troubleshoot with install logs | CS5, CS5.5, CS6 - http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/troubleshoot-install-logs-cs5-cs5.html.

This comes up after I get the install bar and it only makes it to 1-2% installed.
What can I do so that I can install the program on to my computer. I know that I have more than enough free hard drive space for the program (based on its requirements).

  • Trouble installing GoLive CS2 on Mac OS X

I just de-activated the program on my old Vaio which was crashing, and in trying to install to this new Mac (Version 10.5.6) I don't get an icon for installation. It took me an hour on the phone to find out Adobe doesn't support the program anymore and that I should go to Forums. Anyone else have this problem?

You need to look at the installation media and recognize that you have a Windows license if it was installed on your Vaio. That won't work on Mac. Welcome to Mac.
Directly ask Adobe Customer Service for upgrade/crossgrade options to Dreamweaver. (or you can install Windows on your new Mac so that you can install GoLive)

  • Trouble installing .plugin files (Mac)

After hearing everyone rave over Twixtor for the past few years, I finally decided to give it a shot. I'm having trouble figuring out the installation though...
I hope the documentation isn't a predictor for the quality of this plugin. There is nothing here in the way of installation. I ran the installer, which when finished sent finder windows into focus. i see the (.)plugin files and a few pdf's, but they don't show up in my premiere effects. After searching a few sites, I copy/pasted the files to my "MediaCore" folder (/libraries.../cs6/mediacore) which did bring them into my effects within premiere. I spent a few minutes toying with some settings (a la a youtube tut) and rendered my work area. I was pretty aggrevated to find a watermark every few frames when it was done.
I contacted support, who in turn sent me the pdfs I already had (no install guide as far as I can see). I responded, asking for some detailed help and haven't gotten a response since this morning.
Am I missing some step? If I double click the .plugin, a termal window opens - is this how I need to install them?
Note: I found another post explaining the After Effects install process. For that I simply drug the plugins to the "plugin" folder under AE CS6 -> Plugins in my applications directory. The plugin works perfectly in AE (no watermark issues). I'd really like to get it working in Premeire though, just to save me a step in my workflow.

  • Having trouble installing .atn files in PSE10 Mac version

I have downloaded a .atn file from the Net and dropped it into the Actions Folder in the finder, restarted PSE 10, but I am unable to find the Action in the Actions Panel.  Any help would be much appreciated.

    What does the documentation say?
The best is maybe to contact them: http://www.misterretro.com/contact.html for more info.
I recall that the plug-ins overlays huge textures, (they are not procedural, and one could see repeating textures, if used on a huge image... but AFAIK, you launch it from the regular menu.

    Hello,
Flash Player 10.3.183.90 is the last version to support OS X 10.5.8.  Go to http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/archived-flash-player-versions.html and download the 10.3.183.90 archive file.  Extract the content and use the file flashplayer_10_3r183_90_mac_intel.dmg to install Flash Player on OS X 10.5.8.

  • Trouble in transferring files from Mac to flash drive

I can transfer files from my flash drive to my Mac but am having trouble transferring files from the Mac to the flash drive.  I also tried to install the NTSF 3G software as recommended by some people. However, it did not work either. The flash drive could not be mounted after I installed the NTSF software so I ended up uninstalling it. Please help! Thanks.

Why does the flash drive need to be formatted NTFS?
If you have no valid reason for it to be formatted NTFS then reformating might be a simpier solution.

  • Install MPKG Files on MAc OSX 10.5.2

    Hello,
i want to install a MPKG File (install file from tascam us 122-l) on my System.
But my system says "error". Archive is damaged or i do not have the rights.
Apple support can't help me, so does anybody have an idea?
    Thanks KID

    Welcome to the discussions
    I just downloaded the US-122L & US-144 Mac OS X Drivers from
    http://www.tascam.com/details;9,15,69,19.html
which installed with no problem on my system.
Are these drivers what you need?
Try downloading them again, open the disk image and double-click the mpkg (don't copy it to the desktop).
If it fails again, could you please provide the exact error message. Also, a look at the system.log (/Applications/Utilities/Console.app) might give you a clue. Just copy the entries that match the time the install failed and post them here.
